Salah is not top 5 in EPL history. He has great stats and he is extremely lethal that's all. |
Sportsweb:13 games. And he completely missed 6 games (7 in terms of minutes) whilst playing in only 5 full games of the remaining 7. You've been proven the liar.
|
Sportsweb:Unfortunately, I have to spell it out for you. There are 13 games not 12. 13 games of 90 mins is 1170 mins. Kovacic played 502 mins. There are 688 mins that he was entirely missing. That is 6 games and 3/4 of 1 game. ~ 7 games. Out of 13 games, Kovacic missed ~ 7 games. He had only 5 full games. He missed ~ 7 games. He did not play 7 out of 12 games. He actually played 5 out of 13. Missing roughly 7 games. Your agenda will only impress people who need things spelled out to them like children.
|
Sportsweb:Yeah, I'm lying. From Tottenham in the EFL cup to Everton is 12 matches. Not 13. LOL You want to count 22 min appearances as 1 match but THFC to Everton is 12 games so you can claim Kova played 7 of 12 games. Not that he outrightly missed 6 games. That is, he was unavailable for half of the fixtures that his team won only 1 game in. And I'm the liar. ![]()

Sportsweb:Dude. At this point, I think you are intentionally embarrassing yourself. Look at the image attached. It is the run of games showing the only win in green. If you count it, it is thirteen like 13. Got it? Kovacic played the first 2 games fully and only half of the Sporting game. He got injured in that game and did not play 2nd half. Then he missed every single game in between until he replaced KdB against United. So he played 21 minutes. How many games can you count now to see that he missed? This is easy as ABC except you are just bent on misunderstanding a simple fact.
|
lordfalcao:6 EPL titles vs 1 EPL title. |
drisham:I don't cap. He does get mentioned in the real conversations. Nairaland was rightly named Agendaland for a reason. |
Sportsweb:Show us how Kovacic that got injured for Croatia and was sidelined against Tottenham was able to play 45 mins? And if you're referring to the Carabao cup, then count Kovacic's games vs City's games in that stretch including today. That should be how many games? You're just cherry picking stats to give your lies a couch to sit on.

MorataFC:Pep is THE most important. . .He is not the ONLY important person. With the same tools he is "complaining" about he won a league title (a historic 4-peat by the way) following a treble. Same team got to the FA Cup final and UCL SF (where they outplayed and lost on penalties to eventual and perennial winners RM). He is allowed to whine and give excuses. He wrote the book on winning EPL titles. If you're asking for my personal opinion, Pep knows he could have changed the setup or used the academy players but he is incredibly stubborn. This is a man that benched Rodri against CFC in the UCL final and lost! Pep does some head-scratching things atimes due to his principles! There are many other reasons including poor squad management from Txiki, arrogance because "Pep will always find a solution" which he had been doing since 20/21 and hard luck. They had planned to rebuild the squad in summer 2025 but the injuries piled on earlier. The issue is on the piling on not just the isolated instances of injuries. So Pep is not losing multiple games in a row for the first time in his career because of an injury to a key player like VVD. I listed all the possible replacement parts for Ballon D'or winner Rodri - Kovacic, Stones, Akanji, Nunes, Grealish - all being injured simultaneously at one point. What was Pep supposed to do? I agree with the idea of going to the academy (Romeo Lavia is a City academy product) but Pep won't do it. So he is over-relying on Oldman Gundo. |
raumdeuter:He is not. 1. The stats you used the other day was wrong. Henry has played less games than Salah per stats. 2. Henry was never EPL GOAT because of his stats. Shearer and Rooney always had better total numbers than him but it never changed his GOAT status. 3. Most importantly, the true GOAT of the EPL rival to Henry is KdB. Salah has to get past him before he can be in Henry conversations. |
Amigoss:I assume all the games you are referring to, Liverpool won, no? Who has Pep needed to use as a DM in the absence of Rodri, Kova, Stones, Akanji, Nunes? Did Liverpool by any chance have a Ballon D'or winner unable to play for the rest of the season? The way some of you speak, it is almost like Pep did not just win this same league as recently as May 2024. I'm sorry but your team needs to win 4 league titles on the trot to teach Pep anything about winning. |
Sportsweb:I randomly selected Kovacic from your list. He played Tottenham (Carabao cup), played Bournemouth and got injured first half against Sporting FC. Did not play for City again till the 69' when he replaced KdB in the United game. That means, Kova missed at least 8 of the 13 games. Not that he played 7 out of 12. He missed 8/13 of which we are including 45' against Sporting (1-1) at the time and 21' against United. Like I said, I can do that for the rest of your list. You're simply just posting lies and the rest of the less-researched people are gobbling it up.
|
Sportsweb:KdB's first game "played" was coming on at 4-1 down to Sporting in the 89th minute or so. I can do that for the rest of your list. I'm noticing how nobody has brought up City's wealth now that we've been in this bad run of form. Nothing about us having 2 squads that can win the league. Now everyone's players are better than ours. I'm taking notes like a stenographer. |
Godx:I know bro, I do it for posterity. |
Capaldi:I told one of your fellow CFC fans that a child has to crawl before walking. You can't isolate the last aspects of 2023/24 season that allowed CFC to finish top 7 from the top half of 24/25 season. CFC were already on the rise from last season. Nobody expected y'all to finish 12th again. Anyway, na till match week 38 then we will decide who did what. Sitdonlookmode activated. |
drisham:Palmer is 2nd now. When Foden was 4th by this same time last year, he willed his team to win. Can you say the same about Palmer? |
Godx:Dias is out again till after the next international break. Aké had to be taken off even against Everton. . .again. John Stones is out. Akanji just returned from Injury. Ederson is out. Grealish is out. Walker is out. Kovacic just returned. Foden has been in and out. KdB in and out. Doku in and out. Savio in and out. Without mentioning Rodri or Oscar and the fact that City have only 19 squad players. |
Realtord43:Foden has 6 EPL titles. Shit, Jack Grealish has 3 EPL titles. LOL I want Palmer to win 1 as the POTY like Foden. |
Realtord43:That's splendid. Foden got 3 nominations for one season? LOL Palmer's team is 2nd now (like Foden's was by this time last season). City won the league. Tell Palmer make e do am if e easy. 😆 Edit: image not loading. A player with multiple YPOTY awards and a POTY award is a 1 season wonder. |
kushercain:Do like Rams when they fight...Kusher, that means, you should use ya head. Let Palmer win the EPL as the POTY like Foden did in May 2024 then we can chat.
|
drisham:Yeah, sure.
|
Adelana, I heard you were looking for me?
|
Anybody can score when you are fighting relegation with a $2Bln team. Where was Palmer when his team needed him to score against Everton so y'all can mount pressure on Liverpool? I know exactly where Foden was last season. EPL POTY for a reason. Your penalty merchant can never relate. |
Gucciboy:Did both players by any chance play in the same system? Erm, like in City? The best time to compare the players would be ceteris paribus abi "all things being equal" or "given the same circumstances" - and that is their time in City. I, as a City fan, do not care about Palmer or his alleged success in Chelsea. Foden won the league as the best player AFTER Palmer left. Evidence po. . .in Foden's favor. |
Leyqute:Even when Gundo was being criticized - I defended him. I won't single players out when the team and manager are in a bad spot. Same goes for Foden who has clearly been off it this season. Hazard went 1 year without scoring and it did not stop Chelsea fans from hyping him till date. Foden will be fine. His season will go as City's season goes. |
Stephen Wardell Idiot Curry. Steve Idiotically Woke Kerr. |
hensben:Hensben, you are second now. Why don't you categorically state that your team will win the league because you have a worldclass player that is better than everyone else? Why? I've never seen people who believe their players are the best but then shield them from the pressure of proving that they are. |
Singapore1:You are right, City's major issue is the lack of physicality in the midfield. We don't have the players that can cover distance quickly, press, are athletic, win second balls, tackles or stop transitions. What then happens is, opposing players can stretch the midfield with 2 or 3 passes and have the Gundos and Silvas of this world caught in no man's land or simply just run through it like Kulusevski did the other day. That's what Rodri was doing as one man for City, to add to his clutch goals and assists. Of course, Pep is a genius because he has forgotten more solutions than many managers can think of, but he is also insufferably stubborn about his ideas. He believes the only solution is more control. The more we have press-resistant midfielders, the less likely we are to lose the ball for a counter attack, or quick transition. I think he forgets that we are also now vulnerable in corner kicks due to this palpable lack of height and physical presence. Kovacic was the Rodri deputy who could handle some aspects of what Rodri brings but not all, and not usually at the same time. Kova excels at anticipating and stopping passes. Is decent at tackling and being an outlet whilst also possessing the press-resistance to settle the base, but he is not a great passer, not as physically dominant and does not cover the distance Rodri does per game. But even with him, City were still pulling out the necessary wins. Losing Kova, Stones, Akanji, KdB, Jack and most importantly Rodri was just too much to bear. That's why he has been forcing Gundogan to play the 6 role which he clearly does not have the legs for anymore. Bernardo is press-resistant, but does not offer anything else from midfield as he is only 5'5". Rico is the same if not smaller. People can just nudge him off the ball. That's why I said Zubimendi is not going to be the solution to City's problems. We need a Kante-like player but more Bruno Guimaraes than Ngolo, because Bruno can also offer the diagonal switches and forward transitions that helps City progress the ball more purposefully. It is no surprise, of the last 8 games in which City managed to win only 1 and lose 5 of them, Gundo & Bernardo played in midfield. That's the major common factor. No legs to press high up. A distorted press becomes a recipe for disaster as teams can pass through us like sieves and then add the high line, and you see why Tottenham could knack City 4-0. People like me have asked for Nunes to play as the 6 since he has all the attributes to help but he tends to need 2 touches to receive a pass and that is a big no-no for a Pep 6. That's why Pep would rather use old man Gundo there. Pep is obsessed with control. Sometimes and IMHO, to the detriment of his team. |

Just like I told the Zubimendi proponents, City's issues are not down to Cole Palmer or what he can bring. He left, City won the league and played the FA Cup final drunk, otherwise, that would have been following a treble season, with a historic 4-peat cosplaying as an English Football double. Even Pep himself admits the current squad would be at the same level of the last season's squad without the injuries. City would be fine. We have some players like Oscar Bobb returning in January. Escheverri from River Plate will be Erling's deputy. Hopefully we sign a Bruno Guimaraes type player that is physical, can cover distance in pressing and can pass. Pep just wants his players back. For the umpteenth time, Cole Palmer himself REQUESTED to leave City. Cole wanted to know what his opportunities were looking like after the treble and Pep said he was going to have Riyad's minutes and then compete for more with the rest of the squad but he wanted more (starter) and offered to go on loan. Pep said Cole was to stay and take Mahrez' minutes or leave the club outright as he would not entertain players going on loan when planning for the squad. Doku (24th August) was not signed as a Palmer replacement. Doku was signed as a Mahrez replacement. Palmer left (1st September) AFTER Doku had come. PS: No shade at Palmer. It worked out for everyone. He got to prove he could be the man (which everyone at City knew as Enzo Maresca has all but said) and City went on to win without him. Pep was never going to build the team around him ahead of KdB, Erling, Foden or Rodri and Palmer is getting more minutes and clout in CFC than he would have ever got at City. Simple. |
Gucciboy:Airmark has signed a lifetime contract with Shameless Entertainment Records. It is tattooed like that Russian Pop duo. |
Jamiuokolaa:I'd probably blame my grass for this later today but...here goes: You guys always make it about me even when I've resisted the urge to do so on NL. You always make it about me. Who I am. What I have. My personality. My emotions. Always. Why not focus on the facts and leave the gossip aside? Why not? Have you guys ever thought that I probably lost that account (email + password) and never attempted resurrecting it because I hated that it had become about me and not the information being delivered or requested. You lot are so obsessed...you make it about me. I've discussed football again but look at your response. It is about me. How I boast (and I'm usually right he never added) or how angry I am or not. What personality I've decided to take. He is psychoanalyzing me. The other Bayern person that they said speaks to himself on their thread 4 years ago was demystifying Eruditor. Just discuss the football biko. That's why I decided to start fighting back and all of a sudden people became more civil and engaging (there are still the usual trolls like you and Cobweb ) but overall, people discussed football more and would only switch to Temu Sigmund Frauds when I'm wounding them with facts...no printers. ![]() |
