You will know she is coming from roots that depict poverty and they fear of being poor is what is driving her this crazy.
I quite agree.

CultureRe: Terrible State Of The English Language In Nigeria by angel101(f): 9:50am On Sep 18, 2007
@ all
Pidgin is not the problem afterall it is a language. The problem here is abuse of the English language e.g

reverse back = reverse your car
cut your hand = turn your steering wheel
dress for me = move up the seat
still yet = ?
night vigil = ? (vigil is always at night)
should incase = ?

grin

PoliticsRe: A Police Man Confesses by angel101(f): 8:13am On Sep 01, 2007
funloving:
And who stopped this reckless ranting rogue of a policeman from being promoted huh

IS he not aware of fellow policemen who moved from Recruits to Inspectors in 25 years or what of Nuhu Ribadu, who got something like four promotions in four years, moving from CSP or so to AIG in barely four years ?

People should stop blaming others for their position or poverty in life.

Even if he entered the police force as a recruit with Primary Six School Leaving Certificate 25 years ago, if he had continued with part time and adult education by now he could at least have attained HND or even BSc, which would have positioned him for promotion to Officer rank

That policeman and others like him deserve to be excised from the police force
I think this is an unfair statement. where in this world does it say u have to be educated to a specific level to be able to enjoy decency in your job?
I always knew the plight of the policeman in nigeria was poor but never thot it was as bad as earning 15k a month. that is just over a thousand dollars not to mention the appalling environment in which they have to live in. meanwhile their bosses have the effontry to cart away billions meant for their welfare!
common man, lets be human.

Abeem:
Thunder does not strike at the same spot twice. Credibility is the name of the game of their profession. If they failed to get Yaradua's story right the other time, their credibility has already suffered. This time around, they would do more homework to doublecheck the accuracy, reliability and credibility of the stuff they are dishing out to the public.
LMAO!!!! cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
U are 2 funny man
PoliticsRe: Do You Support A State-of-emergency In Port Harcourt? by angel101(f): 10:19pm On Aug 28, 2007
What exactly is a "state of emergency"? Hasn't this been declared by the
cultists and criminal gangs weeks ago? Is it a "state of normalcy" when the
army is patrolling a major urban city in tanks and firing gunships from helicopters and
the likes?

I know our roads are horrible but we use them anyway because that's all there is,
but I didn't know a situation where people are being randomly kidnapped daily and
cultists are firing AK/47 at heavily populated areas and engaging in gun battles with
each other, police, and the militarily could remotely be called normal?

Why do we prefer to tell ourselves lies?
spot on my brother.

There are more road accidents than air crashes. I do appreciate also that air crashes are always fatal but consider also the robberries on the roads. For me sha o i will travel by air and hope for the best. wink

FamilyRe: Disciplining Children by angel101(f): 8:35am On Aug 19, 2007
Spanking should not be an ption at all as far as i am concerned. If u cannot bring up a child, dont have one or turn the ones u already have in for foster care! Why on earth should violence be used on anyone let alone a child. For those of u saying that it is the practice in nigeria, Just because a practice is probably age long does not make it right. I was never spanked as a child and i know that i am well behaved!
