You have to understand, media warfare is going on between Russia and the west.

It is quite possible that the Russian media is inflating the number of surrendering soldiers, hence the difference in the number of surrendering soldiers according to different Russian news outlets.
It is also quite possible that no soldiers surrendered at all.

The fact that the news is coming from a Russian news outlet does not mean that the news outlet is not credible. After all CNN has its own fair share half truths, fake news etc. Does that mean that CNN is not credible? Has that stopped people from listening to CNN. The trick is to listen to CNN then go to Aljazeera, then go BBC etc. Since this is a war involving the west and Russia, you go to Russia news outlets to listen to what they are saying too.

Like I said, You will never be able to take an informed decision or an informed position by only listening to one side...never!
