Business › Re: Nigerians Shun Supreme Court Order, Reject Old Naira Notes by angelfallz(m): 8:42pm On Feb 12, 2023
Please, for your own good don't hold old naira notes. If you must hold, hold an amount that you can finish spending quickly. Politicians are fighting each other. Do not be caught in the crossfire.
Make use of POS, bank transfers, USSD.

It will be very painful if the CBN suddenly declares that the deadline has passedd and you are holding 10k, 20k, 30k etc. Forget supreme court play it safe! If eventually, the cbn extends the deadline, you are safe. if the cbn eventually says the deadline has passed and all old notes are no more legal tender, you are safe.

DO NOT HOLD OLD NAIRA NOTES!
Ganduje, El-Rufai, Tinubu, Supreme court etc will not reimburse you if kasala burst!

Play it safe!

To be safe don't collect old notes. If the CBN directs banks to stop collecting the old notes as deposits, guy shey Ganduje will reimburse you?
Nawteemaxie:
Most filling stations in Abuja now don't accept the old currency again, and I heard banks would stop accepting it as well from Monday. But the AGF said recently that the FG would comply with the Supreme Court order. Can somebody please clarify what exactly the stance on the old notes is as of now!?

Politics › Re: APC Crediting Voters With N10,000 Online In Exchange For Their Data - FIJ by angelfallz(m): 9:21pm On Feb 10, 2023
this might be fake.
one of the biggest advantages of going cashless it that transfers, POS transactions, ATM transactions can all be traced with high accuracy(Remember BVN).
So, I doubt any politician would stupid enough to be doing this.
Business › Re: Naira Redesign : CBN Deadline ; What's the situation in your area ? by angelfallz(m): 9:20pm On Feb 10, 2023
you can use the old notes. But don't get a huge amount o! To avoid stories that touch. Just get a small amount that you can spend quickly or if tomorrow kasala burst you won't feel too bad that the old naira you have is now worthless.

baralatie:
As of now there inadequacy is not in contention!
So should I now suffer until when they become adequate when the solution as of now is to use the old notes?
Business › Re: Naira Redesign : CBN Deadline ; What's the situation in your area ? by angelfallz(m): 9:17pm On Feb 10, 2023
It is unfortunate that such banks are having network issues, especially, as 2 of those banks are among FUGAZ. It must be because of the substantial increase in the use of transfers. I believe The banks will upgrade their networks and before February ends, things will be better. In the meantime, if you can get cash old or new get it and use it.
But don't get plenty o! to avoid stories that touch.

baralatie:
So all the zenith ,access, union and co that are having network problems.to point that some outlets are insisting on cash is what now
Business › Re: Naira Redesign : CBN Deadline ; What's the situation in your area ? by angelfallz(m): 9:12pm On Feb 10, 2023
If you noticed I said, one of the aims...
Yes, network is a major issue that can affect transfers and POS transactions, but that should not stop the transition. Eventually, the bank networks would be robust enough to carry the load.
Mark you, POS and transfer transactions have been growing, long before this CBN naira redesign. So, a good number of Nigerians are familiar with POS and transfer.
baralatie:
Wonderful
So it is longer to curb vote buying in the forth coming elections again

So now that there is network problems .
Let me use the old and reliable legal tender undecided
Since the bank does not have the new notes
Business › Re: Naira Redesign : CBN Deadline ; What's the situation in your area ? by angelfallz(m): 8:47pm On Feb 10, 2023
Exactly! Many people don't understand this.

IntroTech:
You are not depositing to collect.

You are only depositing to key into the cashless society.
Business › Re: Naira Redesign : CBN Deadline ; What's the situation in your area ? by angelfallz(m): 8:46pm On Feb 10, 2023
Trust the CBN at your own risk.
Serious business people would have made POS machines available for transactions and also will be ready to accept transfers.

IntroTech:
Only people who are not serious with their business will be rejecting the old notes.

The CBN has stated that they will still collect the old notes so why will you hurt your business waiting to trade with the new notes that are still as scarce as diamonds whereas you can continue conducting business as usual with the old notes?

It doesn't make any sense to me at all.
Business › Re: Naira Redesign : CBN Deadline ; What's the situation in your area ? by angelfallz(m): 8:44pm On Feb 10, 2023
you can carry out transactions using transfer, where POS is available you carry out transactions using ATM card if you want or if the seller wants
baralatie:
So the person will now be running from one ATM to another ATM in different locations to get the new notes?

Business › Re: Naira Redesign : CBN Deadline ; What's the situation in your area ? by angelfallz(m): 8:41pm On Feb 10, 2023
One of the aims of the naira redesign is to transition to a cashless economy. If the bank can't give the same value in new notes, they can transfer it to your bank account.

baralatie:
Will you be given the same volume of new notes you deposit on that same day?
Business › Re: Naira Redesign : CBN Deadline ; What's the situation in your area ? by angelfallz(m): 8:38pm On Feb 10, 2023
Verve choi! I remember when first bank wanted to give me Verve card as atm card. I told the guy he should change it immediately.
The guy was arguing that the card is good and that I have already billed from my account, I told him no problem collect the atm fee but I am not taking a Verve card, it is either mastercard or visa. I ended up with first bank expressions mastercard.
Verve is not a good card for atm
IranianSea:
ShopRite rejected Old notes! Verve cards rejected by their payment machine. You can only transfer then send the receipt of your transaction to their email, then wait till they verify it, then, they will email you the confirmation receipt, then you take the receipt to the cashier, then your goods handover to you. Very long and stressed.

It is possible that in other areas of Lagos, people are not accepting the old notes. I would advise that you deposit your old notes so as not to lose your money. Politicians are fighting each other, don't be caught in the crossfire.

FG fit change mind tomorrow o!
Don't be among the citizens that will lose their hard-earned money because FG said they will obey court orders. Play it safe, and deposit your old naira notes before it is too late. Stop collecting old naira notes and insist on new notes or transfers (make sure the transfer is confirmed)

Pierocash:
Nobody send you for Ph,it is been accepted everywhere.

But why are people rejecting the old notes, the deadline is still far . FG said they will comply with the order of supreme Court. So, why rejecting it
Business › Re: Naira Redesign : CBN Deadline ; What's the situation in your area ? by angelfallz(m): 8:21pm On Feb 10, 2023
Generally, Nigeria is trying to move away from cash. So, such people should open a bank account. The excuse that they are illiterate will not work any more.

jchioma:
Truly, there's confusion everywhere. In my area. Shops have started rejecting the old notes since yesterday. Some shops didn't even open today. Market women are still left with old notes, because their business is cash based. Most people don't know whether to deposit the few old notes left in their possession or deposit theirs and then have to queue or pay exorbitant charges to POS agents to withdraw same. Even the elites are not left out as the cash crunch is being felt by all and sundry in one way or the other.

May it not be well with all those urchins and Batstards that forced the government to take this pathway and maintain sanity n order to keep them from gaining entry into the national coffers of a dying country.
Business › Re: Naira Redesign : CBN Deadline ; What's the situation in your area ? by angelfallz(m): 8:19pm On Feb 10, 2023
If banks will be open tomorrow go and deposit your old notes sir. If not, first thing on Monday morning, go and do it. Direct your employees to only collect new notes and accept transfers(transfers that are confirmed o!).

I know what I am saying. Tomorrow, the Supreme court miay reverse its decision and you lose money or CBN can decide not to obey. In fact, anything can happen. So, protect yourself, Politicians are fighting each other don't be caught in the crossfire!

concho:
I am a trader in main market Onitsha. I have a shop in Popular Relief market and also Visited “New parts “ market in Onitsha today .

Despite the today’s (10th February ) deadline from the CBN, everyone in these markets are still trading as if nothing is happening. Starting from the motorists to the hawkers in Onitsha, no one rejects the old notes.

Though I'm scared, but I didn't give any directives to my subjects. They collects anyone they see.

As I type this, they have made up to #300,000 cash from today's sales while I wallow in confusion.

What is the situation in your area please, are the old notes rejected or being accepted??

N:B, don't mind my English, I'm just a trader

Yes, that is the idea. There is a filing station close to me. It is transfer they are doing.
Phraences:
So how will you spend the money transfered to your account. Will you be doing transfer for bike man, conductors, tomato sellers?
Politics › Re: CBN Extends Deadline For Old Naira Notes To February 10 by angelfallz(m): 12:20pm On Jan 29, 2023
You won't incur any loss if you deposit your old notes into your bank account. If the bank has no new notes to give you, the bank can do a transfer to your account.
For example, let us say you have 1 million naira in old 1000, 500 and 200 notes and you deposit it at the bank, the bank can then transfer 1 million naira to your account. Simple.
dominique:
I hope it's true o! I'm still trying to see the sense of plunging millions of people into losses because you don't want politicians to bribe voters and you want to impose silly cashless policy. When you don't want to be unfortunate.
