In Nigeria nothing goes for nothing, i hear its going to be like a contract package, to be able to switch to whichever network you like, but you maintain your number, and you know contract packages always comes with some deposits, anyway sha lets wait and see. Though i think its going to favour mobile business people, who travel a lot.

Does this also mean that if i switch my Glo line to Mtn, i get to enjoy mtn freebies like free night calls and i now load my phone with mtn recharge card instead of Glo's?

Are there going to be hidden charges or technicalities involved in switching to another network?

Yesssso its working everybody, but i observed it depends on your sim, not all sim has the gprs activated, i want you all to do something, check your sim code, mine has PHC, this means Port Harcourt, it is not gprs activated, my sisters own has LAG, which means lagos and i browsed with it all weekend. If your code is Lagos, then recharge and check your browsing.

Please i would like to know how many people has tested it working, and the model of phone used, i have tried also with the above settings and still no success, i use Sagem Myx5m, and it has worked well with Glo's Gprs.

I also recieved the promo information from MTN yesterday, but i know that a lot of people have been sending more than one free txts and making free calls just a few days before this advert, even with no access days (this always happens when there is a technical problem). What i want to know is now they have made it official, do we also send the free text with zero access days?

The MTN Flash service have been messing up lately, though at times it just picks up and gets to the recipient almost immediately, how do i know this? i always test flash myself anytime i send MTN flash, if i recieve, that means the other person has received, though by so doing i would have reduced my 5 MTN flash by one, but at the same time, i have confirmed if the flash went through or not.

Have you guys also noticed for those of us that use the starcomms line for business (call centre), there is a daily deduction of N33.33k, they always steal this amount at night, i thought there was nothing like access charge anymore.

Sorry debugger, what you used to connect MTN Wap was the dial up access through mtech, and not MTN GPRS, Its always expensive to use it, the last time i tried it, i didnt get any data downloaded, i lost N300. MTN has not announced any GPRS yet, i think the MTN technical team are still carrying out test on it, thats why i notice GPRS presence each time am in Victoria Island near MTN Head Office.

Glo has a better business sense than MTN, they understand the need to put customer first, they will eventually beat MTN if they get a better coverage.

i advice you to be patient, i was once desperate to get mms and wap on my glo line too, so desperate that the day the notification came i didnt know, so since you have been to their office, in the next 2 days if you dont recieve password for your online glo mms album, call 121, but if you do, then switch off you phone and on again, you will start browsing wap immediately.

Debugger, you have to call Glo Customer Care Line (121). Tell them you have completed you configurations and you need them to provision your SIM for WAP and MMS. You will recieve password for your Glo online MMS album as soon as they provision you, or better still take you phone to any Gloworld center near you.

@Kodewriter, sorry,  am just reading your post today too, When i started this thread, we didnt have up to a hundred members, but i had a foresight (expected) of questions like yours springing up as membership increase, that was why i said  'no critisizms', please this thread is a meeting point for 'catholics' who know why they are catholics, you have questions, i have questions too, its a challenge for us if we claim to be catholics  but if you are too keen on answers then sacrifice some time to see your parish priest/ elders in the church/ or go make enquiry in the church library (i know the church is good at keeping records), or better still start another thread, maybe you will get the answers you need.
@Traez, Everybody has their individual gift, so also every leader in the church, a pastor/priest gifted with healing powers will do well in healing ministrations, while the orators do well in preaching, i know a handfull of our priest who do well in preaching, we as parishoners are supposed to augment some of their weak areas, that is why we have the charismatic renewal (have you discovered your charisma/spiritual gift?), You dont have to be a pastor/priest before you can preach, heal, you will do well if you are gifted.

I noticed the GPRS presence is only when am at work in Victoria Island, so i guess allenpowered is right about the test going on within the MTN Team.

MTN Nigeria's GPRS

For the past few days I have noticed MTN's GPRS presence on my set(Sagem Myx-5m), I hope I am not mistaken about it, please if you have a GPRS enabled phone and use MTN, kindly activate your GPRS and switch your phone off and back on, lets have mess if the GPRS signal stays on, I will be glad to get some configuration settings if MTN is now on GPRS.
