I actually don't live in Peckham but I wouldn't refer to it as a hell hole either. My comment was made in jest and in response to your ramble about living among white people.

I work hard and I see the benefits of my hard work everyday. I am fruitfully employed by a multinational and often travel around the world all expenses paid. I have for the past 6 years been based on and off in various offices around the world and I currently working on global project in California. At the current time I am on vacation at home in the UK where I have a home that is mortgage free.  I don't know about Poles and other Eastern Europeans and what type of work they do in the UK. That isn't where my focus is so sorry I can't answer that. If they are doing better than me here then good for them. Right now I am happy with what I have and thank God for the blessings he has bestowed upon my life and pray for many more. Things aren't perfect but they aren't as bad and negative as you make out either.

However you are obviously very bitter and unhappy about your standing in life and the way you live in the UK and so you really should think about leaving for better climes. Life is too short to continue to harbour resentment for a country you have chosen to live in and people you have live among.

Again when are you planning to leave? Whether you were born in the UK is not the issue or question here. The fact is that you seem to hate the country as all your posts are filled with nothing but the injustices of the land. I have asked you a few times now about when you are planning to leave as you are clearly unhappy in the UK and yet you have chosen to dodge the question both times preferring to indulge in some mindless hyperbole instead.

let me let you in on  something which is obvious to most people with the ability to think - criticism is healthy and critical dialogue is important in order to address the injustice which exists in society.

But you seem intent on negativity. In your eyes Britain has no redeeming factors even though you have chosen to live here when you could be perfectly happy elsewhere? How is the constant abuse of Britons and Britain in general by yourself having any positive effect on your life?

Since when was Peckham a white area?   On a serious note, you claim that I am second class citizen in the Uk so would I be a first class one in Nigeria as someone from Delta State? As someone from Delta State would I be allowed to run for governor of a Northern state in Nigeria. Would I or my children be allowed to claim benefits or scholarships from Lagos state seen as I am not indigenous to the state but may have paid taxes for a few years there. Please answer honestly.

for your information i too was born in the UK but unlike you i dont wear my british citizenship as  a badge of honour, i have lived in nigeria and in the UK and i can tell you that the average nigerian born and bred in nigeria is 100% better off than the likes of people like you who were born and bred in the UK, many nigerians who grow up in nigeria are better educated and much more ambitious, the UK born nigerians tend to be directionless and low acheivers therefore in order to console themselves that they have acheived somethign they wear their pathetic nominal british citizenship on their sleeves, if indeed you are a true british person why is it that you have to work twice as hard to get half as much as your white counterparts? I know many black british people who are merely marking time in a country that does not want them.

Well I am proud to be British. If the fact that a black person can say that hurts you so much then you know what you can do. And as for Nigerians being educated in Nigeria better, being better achievers with more direction  than they are in Britain; it is subjective.

after the second world war there was a shortage of labour in this country  and the whites recruited unskilled  workers from the carribean and africa - most of the unskilled workers were from the carribean and a lot of the students were  from africa - these people were our parents - this is how the likes of you and i came to be born in this country - so please stop going on about being born in the UK as if its some huge acheivement because its not - there is a limit as to how far people who look like you and i can go in this country and you know it.  Perhaps thats why you've opted to leave and go to america (out of the frying pan into the fire) so come down off of that delusional high horse that you ve placed yourself on and wake up to the real world.

I am actually home in Britain on vacation at this moment in time. But I was in America working for a British multinational on a global project. I haven't left Britain at all.

And where are the examples I asked you to provide or are you going to keep rambling on about nothing without proof? Please provide an example of a case where a black person has been the criminal and how the press treated them worst than they did in the the Jamie Bulger case. For your information that case was far from treated as humane or sympathetic. People were calling for the death penalty and that was reported in the news and the security van that was carrying the boys to the court was attacked every day during the trial. There are plenty of documentaries on youtube so if you really want to find out what it was like back then check there.

Serious questions

Why can't a Yoruba person born and raised in an indigenous Igbo state become the governor of that state or reap the benefits of that state? and vice versa.
Why can't a Itsekiri person born and raised in a Northern state become the governor of that state? and vice versa?
How comes Nigerians can be deported from one part of Nigeria to the other because they are not indigenous to the area of Nigeria they have chosen to live in?


Nigerians please answer honestly before you come in here criticising my choice to put my birth land first before my father or mother's land. My family are from Delta State and so it is highly unlikely that I would get a fair shot at anything in Nigeria because I am not from the correct ethnic group. At least in Britain where I was born and raised and know like the back of my hand I have a chance.

It always make me giggle when an immigrant pretends that he/she has the same experience as the next guy who has lived all their lives in a country just because they have the same skin colour. That is like me going to live in a Lagos for two weeks and making out like every person from Delta State is treated the same way as me because we are from the same place in Nigeria.

So Cap28 how is your experience in the UK as an immigrant the same as every Black person born and bred in Britain? I doubt your experience in Britain is even the same as my parents and their peers who came to the UK in the 1960s and made lives for their families so can you explain how it is the same  as mine? with regard to your point about the child murder case yes i did read about that in the news but there is a big difference between the media coverage of a murder case and the constant bombardment by the same media of NEGATIVE images of africans in order to create a certain image of africans in the minds of the public.

the coverage of the jamie bulger murder case portrayed the murderers as victims of a broken society, they were not objectified and put on display in the way that africans are, the public were invited to look at the lives of these boys in order to find solutions as to why society had produced children that could have it in them to attack and kill other children.

So please my dear Angiefan i know that you are extremely grateful for being given the opportunity of a lifetime to live in the west, and i know that most of what i say bursts your delusional bubble but you cant runaway from the truth, the attitudes of whites towards blacks is inherently racist and will never change, and  i would suggest you look at the world around you objectively before you tell me to "go back to africa".

Oh please, I doubt you were even in the UK when that story broke and so you really have no idea of how the British press covered the story back then. Furthermore, if you know anything about the British press and their salacious, desperate, passionate and unorthodox ways of covering a story or piece of gossip, you would know that it is second to none in the world and that these guys did not get any special treatment in the media. That is the reason why you know so much about the story even though as I said I doubt you were even in the country then.

Can you name a case that involved a black criminal was involved and the press showed them no mercy as they did with a white case?

How many times do you see whites washing their dirty linen in public? i have worked in the criminal justice system in this country and i can tell you that whites tend to be more violent and criminal minded than blacks, many young white kids are engaged in crime from a very young age but because the system treats them differentlyfrom the way they treat blacks  attempts are made to put them on the straight and narrow at an early stage and a lot of the time these kids are diverted away from a life of crime by the steadfast support of police, social workers, psychologists and other groups who work with them.

17 years ago in this country two ten year old white boys lured a toddler to an isolated train track, where they sexually assaulted him and then beat him to into a state of unconsciousness with a brick, after which they dumped his body on a train track where his body was subsequently run over by a train,  the nation was in shock, the questions being asked were, what could make two ten year old boys committ something so heinous and satanic? both of these boys were convicted of murder and placed in a young offenders unit until they reached the age of 18 .  They were then  released under orders of the home secretary  given new identities and were allowed to start new lives!!!! 


here is an excerpt from a report of the murder:

Four boys found James’s (the victim) body on the tracks on Sunday afternoon, when they went up to the train tracks to look for footballs. At first they thought he was cat, then a doll, torn into two. Jon and Robert (the killers) had laid out James directly on the track, aware that a train would come by soon. Perhaps they believed that the community would think it was an accident that James had wandered up to the tracks on his own and was run over. Or that if the train hit James, it would destroy all clues. His upper body was hidden within the coat. His lower body was further down the tracks, completely undressed. He had suffered 42 injuries, most to his face and head and had not died during the attack, but some time before the train hit him. Jon and Robert had left him while he was still alive.


Today the monsters who perpetrated this atrocity are free and live under new identities but one of them despite being given this chance has reverted back to a life of crime.

Many people despite being horrified at what these boys did, saw them more as victims of broken homes and terrible upbringing more so than monstrous criminals, imagine if these boys had been black boys do you think they would ever have been given a second chance to start their lives afresh?

Any city can be compared to another - all cities have their fans.

Houses come in all shapes and sizes, both in London and New York. A lot of Nigerians would rather invest in a 8-bedroom house with a swimming pool, despite being a wife, husband and a 2-child family, with no plans for more kids. As for the pool, some can't even swim! The larger house is often a status symbol, and nothing more.

A lot of current cars in the United States are Euro models. The old, massive Bel Airs, Buick Regals, Mercury Mornachs etc are no longer in vogue. The current models reflect their Euro counterparts, unless you're telling me a US Mercedes E320 is larger than a Euro one? How do you define being "conservative"? And accents, Americans actually love the British accent. Hardly a basis for an argument!

Exactly! No one has mentioned that she is a Nigerian except the Nigerian press (see OPs article) and Nairalander.

I don't believe this young lady got up that morning with an intent to kill but this is what happens when ones gets in with the wrong crowd. It was probably one of her younger friends who struck the fatal blow to that poor boy but because of her age she is being exposed to the world even before conviction.

A lesson to all parents and older siblings please keep an eye on your children/younger sibling. Who are their friends? Do you know their internet activity? etc.

All the passengers had been asked to leave the bus before hand and then I was just read my miranda rights and then the bus was diverted to Peckham Police station.  Embarrassing.

Another time I was arrested (I was a real baadass n my teens! lol ) My friend wanted to fight some girl at Vauxhall College so me and another girl went to back her up. Anyway things escalated to the point where the Dean of the college called the police and arrested all of us who weren't students and took us down to Vauxhall Police station. I wasn't locked in a cell this time but I was searched for any weapons and let go again with a warning. This time I was an adult (18 ) and didn't need a responsible adult to get me. I was scared though, even though I was only guilty by association.

In the end they got fed up and took me in. I think it was more a case of me wasting police time than the illegal child rate photo card. People can get arrested for wasting police time regardless of race, just watch The Bill.

When I was let of with a just caution and a lecture from the Chief of Police about how being careful, obeying the law and not getting a criminal record as it could ruin my chances in life. Not that I needed it because three hours in that cell was more than enough to set me on the straight and narrow forever.

I was arrested on a London bus for using a child rate bus pass when I was 17. Those days one could only use a childrate card up till 16 and it isn't really a crime that requires arrest or lock up but I stubbornly refused to give the police my real name and address so they took me to Peckham police station and locked me up in the cell for 3 hours, lol

The place was filthy and I didn't sit down the whole time I was there! There was poo and blood smeared on the walls together with grafitti. The cell had a stone slab with some of kind of rubber mattress and there was a disgusting toilet in there which flushed by itself every few minutes. After about an hour I stared crying and gave them my name. Stupidly, as I was 17, (not allowed to use a childrate card) I was still considered under a child under law and so I had to wait for a responsible adult to come and get me. I then had to bribe my sister 19 who was an 'adult' to come and get me and to keep her from telling my parents. Dem dayz!
