Again, Nigerians stop being so uptight lighten up! Geez! It was a joke! I am sure there are more important things for you to be concerned about than a light-hearted statement which probably made by an intern at the BBC.

How can a whole country have failure sewn in the DNA like the English team?
The Americans got lucky due to that blunder by Green. However don't worry the football cup will finally come HOME to its birthplace of England in 2010. Its been 44 years too long.lol grin grin grin grin It is about time England took control of the game they gifted to the rest of the world.

After that we will start working on bringing Tennis back home to its birthplace grin

This is going to be great! Love Chiwetel and I think the movie producers made an excellent decision by choosing a world class award winning actor to portray the complex character of Fela on the big screen.
TravelRe: Where Is The Place To Be? Uk Or The Us? by AngieFan(f): 8:16am On Jun 11, 2010
It is a subjective view but I personally believe that the US is better for Nigerians seeking to leave Nigeria. Everything is BIG in America and I think Nigerians would adapt to that more than the our smaller Island, the UK.

For me there is no place like home (UK) but I do like living in the US at times. It is bearable for me because I have enough vacation time to fly home if I choose. By the end of this year I hope to be permanently based in the UK and Europe.

A good friend of mine is of Igbo descent and an expert in all things hispanic/South American so much so that she is now a qualified teacher teaching Spanish in a London school which is a feat seen as she was born and brought up in London speaking English.
After Uni she lived in Columbia for a year where they tried to convince her that she was a mulatto or a quadroon because her skin tone was so pale as some Igbos are.
Terms such as 'mulatto' 'quadroon' etc are very much common there and people darker than her would use them to identify themselves rather than just pure black.  These people outright refused to believe that she was of pure African descent and it was a shock to the system for them to meet my 'yellow' friend who told them straight that everybody in her family including her was pure African. It is pretty much like that across the whole South American continent and so I am not surprised that it is also like that in Brazil.

There is no way that production company (not the BBC) got away with not paying for an interview with this guy and the others.

People forget that 'Welcome to Lagos' was made by an independent production company and the BBC just paid for the license to show it on their channel. That's how these things work. I doubt the BBC had anything to do with the arrival of this guy in the UK and that includes helping him to get a visa. I don't think the BBC have any clout at the visa office anyway, ! grin

I asked you what might be wrong with you. Why the snide reply? huh
You asked why him, I simply asked why not him? As someone said it is probably his chance to be blessed. Sorry if my question came across as snide.

You want to know? maybe you should ask those in the media business or are you trying to say they spent all the money in Nigeria for nothing?
huh huh
PoliticsRe: Have U Ever Experienced Injustice Abroad? by AngieFan(f): 7:25am On Jun 06, 2010
And to those claiming the newspaper went to town with the James Bulger case in the UK, how comes the little fact that that little boy was sexually molested and possibly despoiled not revealed to the public, hence the reason for the hush hush approach now being taken with him being incarcerated for possession of grade 2 child indecency Undecided And you must think Nairalanders have collective amnesia by claiming you don't hate Nigeria/Nigerians Cool
@Busy Body

I suppose the above response was for me? Please be brave enough to address me directly in future. I don't bite! grin

So how did you know about the molestation then if it wasn't revealed to the public? Were you there when the murder was carried out or did you read it in the BRITISH press? The same press you claim covered it up?

Yes your memory is indeed dim. I have never stated or implied that I hated Nigerians or Nigeria in this thread or any other.

all the same, I'm happy for them.
What money did they bring in for the 'BCC' and how did they do that?

I took the comment in the way that it was intended, as humour. Some of you guys are so dang sensitive and I wonder if any of you put the same time and effort into petitioning and complaining when it comes to more important issues. The truth is you complain to the BBC because you know you will be listened to. What about the article on the American site which was worst? Did anyone bother to complain in the same vein there? Nope because the Americans do not give a $hit! LOL!

Cap28, excellent response Jare!

Now for all you losers that are here cussing and asking when Cap28 will leave England, I have a question for you. When the heck will you get outta Nairaland?? I am not going to mention names but I know those of you who never have anything positive to say about Nigeria but you are always on this forum. Is it the white man, the american or the briton that created this forum? It is a young Nigerian man located in Nigeria that created this forum hence some of you lost, identity-confused negroes of debatable Nigerian descent are here being able to air your opinions. Since some of you identify with America and britain more than where your roots lie, why the heck are you not on american or british forums hibernating amongst the people there? Now listen folks, you can go ahead and cuss me out all you want after reading this post but guess what? It's the internet ok? I am not moved. Since your a.s.s.e.s did not remind anyone to come abroad, your a.s.s.e.s should not ask when the person is going back. Are you the ones who purchased Cap's flight ticket to England or is it your Naija parents that founded the western society in which you were born and/or raised in? I was born and partially raised in western Europe too. Kini big deal? I ask again, When are you sell out negroes going to leave Nairaland?? Go join pound and dollar land or did whitey reject your black a.s.s.e.s there?? And all the bloody hypocrites who sit there and lie through their palm oil stained teeth that they have never faced any form of injustice abroad, go tell that to the birds ok? Who do some of you think you are fooling??

Dumme Arschlochern! Ein par diese leute sind so ein scherz, wirklich! angry

I am out! can't be bothered anymore! Cap, goodluck trying to continue this debate with blockheads. I no get time again my brother.
Your response is silly, however I am aware that this is the only way an insecure Nigerian like yourself and Cap28 can respond; by verbally knocking down another country and race in order to build up your own. I haven't said anything negative about Nigeria or Nairaland so why should I be asked to leave? I know that if I decide to live in  Nigeria or any other country I am going to place my focus on the positives and all the country has to offer and not b i t c h all day on the internet. Cap28 seems to be forever on a b i t c h fest about his sorry a$$ predicament in the UK and so it is only sensible that he be asked what he is going to do about it. i.e. When r u leaving Dude? Only an i d i o t continues to remain in a smelly toilet i.e UK, according to Cap, when they are free to go into the garden to smell the fresh flowers i.e. Nigeria.

If you don't like the question then you can go and jump off a cliff into the ocean to cool down.  .  .  . lol! grin

Kindly put an end to this discussion. It was illuminating and educative when it started as one could see extreme view points.

This is unbecoming for folks who have decent careers of any sort.

Thanks Jare! I was getting tired of corresponding with Cap28 anyway. From now on I will ignore him so he can continue his racist vitriol and ignorance about Britain in peace. I just hope that he chooses to leave the country soon before he self explodes from all that bitterness and angry hate he has inside.

Cap28, you are indeed a fool.

I don't live in Peckham but if it makes you happy then yes I live right next to Obalende Suya. grin Ain't no shame in my game. grin At least I am not a bitter unhappy defeatist victimized deluded i d i o t and make believe solicitor who has trouble spelling basic words and rationalising in a clear and concise manner. And you claim to practise British law? Please Dummy, continue taking your medication and stfu!
PoliticsRe: Have U Ever Experienced Injustice Abroad? by AngieFan(f): 7:50pm On May 30, 2010
cap28:
Hmm sounds like you are ashamed to admit that you live in Peckham.

fruitfully employed as what? if i may ask, and what benefits have you accrued as a result of your "hard work", oh so you live in a mortgage free house - lets give you a standing ovation - you are not the first neither will you be the last, what great strides have you made for your people or have you been too busy genuflecting and bowing before your white masters?

the global project that you claim to be working on, is it beneficial to the masses of blacks out there who are struggling to make ends meet or is it yet another project by your white masters aimed at keeping blacks oppressed and mired in poverty?

the thing is i couldnt care less whether you are based on the moon or based on planet venus, my issue with you is that you are in denial about racism in this country and you seem to think that i have no right to point out the fact that it exists here.

If you think working for a "global multinational corporation" is some sort of acheivement i beg to differ, i work as a lawyer within the criminal justice system and i see the effects of institutionalised racism on our young black people in this country, i see the damage that it has done to our youth and i see that as a race of people we are under attack by a people who do not want our progress.

You on the other hand think that you are a success because you have been allowed to do some job a white person doesnt want.

I am far from bitter and unhappy - i am a solicitor and i enjoy the challenges and stresses (i might add) of the job, but my job (and it is only a job and not my life) has opened my eyes to the entrenched racism that exists in this country, unlike you i am concerned at the plight of my people and i am working with other concerned groups to try and do something for the up and coming youth who will in turn face the discrimination that all blacks face in this country.

I choose not to keep my head in the clouds and pretend that everything is fantastic the way you do, i am a realist not a fantasist like you.  America that you claim to jet in and out of is a country that practiced (and still practices albeit covertly)  the most virulent form of racism ever invented,   had it not been for courageous blacks who challenged the white supremacist system in the 1950's and 60's , you wouldnt even have been able to boast about your trip to california as you would have been forced to work and live under a racially segregated system, so while you continue to live in denial why dont you take some time out to find out about the heroes who made sacrifices for the things you so blindly take forgranted today.

i know your job is your life and you probably seek solace in it from the racism you receive as a black woman in britain,  but beleive me there is more to life than working around the clock for white people.
And you still didn't ans the question. Oh well I guess you are just another bitter, insecure victim playing Nigerian resident in the UK running off your mouth. Solicitor? lol please pull the other one. You communicate like an irrational dustbin cart man and not like the educated Solicitor who practises British Law.

There are houses that in Peckham that are on the market for hundreds of thousands and if I really lived there I wouldn't be ashamed at all.
