The only difference between most policemen and the robbers is that while the police is licensed to wear uniforms and carry arms while robbing…. it is up to the personal discretion of the average robber whether to wear police or army uniform for their operations… |
The foundation of God standeth sure and will never change. People, Pastors are changing and leading people in error. This issue of dressing cannot be sweep aside. Many are guilty. unclothedness must be covered but Pastors are preaching something else becos of their belly. |

Hopes of scores of policemen in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, to receive their September salaries were dashed this morning as the N11.7 million meant for their salaries has been stolen. P.M.NEWS investigation this morning revealed that the money was stolen from the Nigerian Police Force Micro Finance Bank situated within Ikeja Police College at GRA. The money was paid into the bank on Friday yet there was no sign of burglary when it was discovered missing this morning. When P.M.NEWS visited the bank today at about 10.1 5 a.m., a large number of policemen who stormed the bank were disappointed as they could not collect their salary. They were directed to go to another branch of the microfinance bank at Obalende for the payment of their salaries. When P.M.NEWS attempted to speak with the manager at the Microfinance Bank, he declined to comment on the incident. When contacted on phone, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Samuel Jinadu said he was driving. At the bank located at the back of the office of the Commandant of the Police College, P.M.NEWS correspondents saw police detectives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, investigating the incident. Before the N11.7 million simply grew wings and disappeared between last Friday and yesterday, corruption cases had been reported and investigated at the Police College. Police sources told P.M.NEWS that officers who attended promotion courses from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, were compelled to pay N7,000 each. http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/10/04/police-salary-stolen-from-police-bank/ |
Calabar—Bishop Frank Owali of the World Overseer of Hebron-Harvest International Ministry, with headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand, has raised alarm over alleged hostile treatment and harassment of Nigerians by the authorities of Thailand. The cleric, who fled the country, alleged that at the time of his departure no fewer than 700 Nigerians have been arrested and clamped into detention in various towns in and around Bangkok. He said there were no effort by officials of Nigerian Embassy in the country to wade in the matter. Owali said following insecurity, unprovoked harassment, sustained assault, arrest and extortion of money from Nigerians by Thai security officials, several Nigerians had decided to go underground. He said: The whereabouts of about five Nigerians pastors, including the clerics in charge of The Throne of Grace Church, New Life International Ministry, and of one of my pastors are unknown.” He alleged that they were among those penciled down by the Thai police for arrest or extra-judicially execution. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/10/700-nigerians-in-thai-prisons-others-dead/ |
The President, Campaign for Democracy (CD) and Women Arise for Change Initiative, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, has described Nigeria as a volcano that may soon erupt if the challenges of ethnicity, religious bigotry, insecurity, poverty and unemployment are not addressed timely. She said this in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, while delivering a lecture entitled, “NGOs and government: A required synergy for educational development,” at the first Yomi Adegbesan Foundation lecture and the launch of a tuition-free school, that the nation, after 51 years of independence, was still starving in the midst of plenty. The human right activist said that the country had enough resources to develop its economy, but had been wasted due to greed and corruption at all levels. “If we look at everything that is happening around us, you will agree with me that there is nothing to celebrate. There is insecurity, unem-ployment, poverty just to mention but a few everywhere in the country. “Nigerians are not happy with these developments. God forbid, a Rwanda, a Liberia and a Somalia crisis did not just start suddenly. This country is like a volcano that will erupt if these issues are not tackled headlong. It is better for us not to allow this country to erupt, but if it eventually erupts, we don’t know those that will be consumed,” she said. On the need for the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) working in the education sector and the government to collaborate, Okei-Odumakin urged the two to build a symbiotic relationship for sake of educational development in Nigeria. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/29195-nigeria-may-erupt-soon-if--okei-odumakin |
Following the news that broke out from blackberry messenger (BBM) on Friday (Sept 30) that 3,000 Airtel staff were laid off the company has refuted the claim saying its false. In a media interaction yesterday Airtel’s Human Resources Director ,Mr. Jibril Saba denied that the workers were never staffs of Airtel but Spanco and Tecmahindra, the two business processing outsourcing(BPO) companies for Airtel. He noted that the staff were actually contract staff of Airtel BPOs and they were 1,535,446 from Lagos and the rest from Abuja, adding that their call centres are in Abuja ,Lagos, Delta and Kogi states respectively and because Airtel wants a world class call centre that would be effective was the reason for outsourcing its call centre to these companies that have tentacles across the world and are worth $39 billion. He stated that long call fuctions are being outsourced globally. “BPOs are capable of generating 5,000 jobs and these staff are hired through third party agencies but the contracts of these staff expired not because of any undertone.” From a legal perspective,Osondu Nwokoro, Airtel, Director of Regulatory affairs noted that the legal nexus binding on the BPOs and their staff terminated on Sept 30th like any signed contracts. Meanwhile some of the laid off staff who spoke to Daily Sun on the condition of anonymity noted that Airtel cannot actually detach itself from its BPOs because they carry its identification(ID cards). “We worked as customer service agents for Airtel but we were sacked due to salary disagreement. We were paid N75,000 a month but the new company owners from India has reduced it to N30,000 with the excuse that they are paying us too much.We need help, this is modern day slavery,”they said. However the two BPOs in a joint press statement explained their attention have been drawn to several messages circulating in cyberspace alleging that thier client, Airtel had fired 3,000 Call Centre agents due to a disagreement over a purported plan to reduce salaries. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2011/oct/04/national-04-10-2011-0011.html |

Things are definitely looking up for our showbiz personalities these days, many thanks to the billionaire owner of telecommunication giant,Globacom,Chief Mike Adenuga Jnr.Who has over the years appointed some of these people as the brand ambassadors for Globacom. The likes of Ramsey Nouah Jnr,Desmond Elliot,Monalisa Chinda,Rita Dominic alongside others are living testimonies to the benevolence of Adenuga. Obviously unstoppable,Adenuga again recently proved that he is turning the fortune of the showbiz around for good, decided to bring on three more artistes as signees on the Globacom brand ambassadors list. One of the people on the fresh list is Odunlade Adekola. While a lot of people thought veteran actors like Saheed Balogun,Muyiwa Ademola, Yomi Fash Lanso or Femi Adebayo could have been the most preferred,Odun came on top and was given the multi-million naira deal. However, unless something is done fast,Odun may incur the wrath of his colleagues as he is said to have changed the fee he charges for appearing in movies now. Odun,we learnt, who was collecting between 120 to 150 thousand naira to play lead roles in films has decided to alter that.We can reveal to you for free that for you to have Odun play a lead role in your movie now,you must be ready to part a whopping N500,000 and if you are thinking of just making him appear in your movies, then be prepared to pay N200,000. In another development, the latest fee Odun is trying to start collecting could lead to something else.According to a source,Odunlade who just became a Glo ambassador barely a month ago has already been finding himself in the blackbooks of a lot of his colleagues. Can you imagine what Odunlade is doing us since he went to collect money from Adenuga? We will call Odunlade from morning till night,he won't answer our calls and these are numbers he knows very well. When he now picks the call reluctantly and we invite him to our film location, the next thing you will hear from him is that he is under a new management now and they are the only one we can speak with. He will explain that he now collects N500,000 to play a lead role and N200,000 for appearance, can you imagine? http://www.modernghana.com/movie/14795/3/yoruba-movies-practitioners-declares-war-on-odunla.html |
