Carmingle: Good thread. As long as it contains Nigeria made/assembled cars, yes it will be a good thread. Otherwise it is a bad thread for unpatriotic Nigerians undermining our economy and increasing unemployment so their peers can be called lazy youths.www.nairaland.com/attachments/3313384_solagiwa_buymadeinnigeria_savethenaira705997_jpeg_jpegc9bda744d755917add359d4bb754b3b2aminulive: The Standard Organization of Nigeria today, Wednesday, February 12th 2020, presented the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) certification to Nigeria first indigenous vehicle manufacturing company, Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing. The MANCAP certificate was presented to the Chairman/CEO of Innoson Vehicles, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma OFR by the Director-General of Standard Organization of Nigeria, SON, Osita Aboloma Esq.
Delivering his Keynote Address, Osita Aboloma said that the award certificate to Innoson Vehicles shows that the company went through rigorous process of inspections and quality assurance in the last five years or even more and also demonstrated compliance to the relevant product standards and is providing products that meet consumer expectations and offer value for money among other benefits.
Stating further, he said "with the award of MANCAP's certificate to Innoson brand of vehicles, we are demonstrating how standardization and conformance to standard offer strategic opportunities for increased efficiency, set bench marks and help promote Made-In-Nigeria products to the international market, as this award will boost Innoson's brand across borders. We are in effect saying that Innoson brand is fit to be used in Nigeria and beyond.
In his Goodwill message, the National President of Nigerian Association of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Hajiya Saratu Iya Aliyu and who was represented its National Vice President, Mr Humphrey Ngonadi noted that for Innoson Vehicles to receive the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) means that it met the relevant Nigerian Industrial Standards (NIS) and it is a "confirmation of the capacity of our industry". The NACCIMA President assured Innoson Vehicles of the continuous support of NACCIMA to his company.
Giving his remarks, the Innoson Vehicle Boss, Chief Chukwuma gave the assurance that Innoson Vehicles will continue to employ international best practices in the production of its vehicles so that they can compare favorably in terms of durability, fuel economy and safety. He stated further that the company is now producing affordable cars that an average Nigerian worker can purchase easily.
The SON's mission is to promote consumer confidence and global competitiveness of Made-in-Nigeria products and services through Standardization and Quality Assurance. SON established the Mandatory product certification scheme (MANCAP) to ensure that locally manufactured products provide the required degree of satisfaction to consumers through compliance with applicable standards and government policies on standardization and conformity assessment.
A major attendant benefit of the SON certification to Innoson Vehicles is hitch-free exportations to other countries and mostly the African Countries.

Leading opposition party, the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, yesterday lambasted President Goodluck Jonathan over his “tactless show” during his recent visit to Borno and Yobe States.
According to the party, his action had compounded the Boko Haram mutiny, which subsequently killed and maimed many innocent Nigerians in the crisis-ridden region.
The party in a communiqué issued in Lagos on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, and made available to DailyPost, said while the decision to grant amnesty to any person or group was the right of the government, the argument advanced by the President for denying amnesty to Boko Haram members was “as illogical as it was puerile”.
ACN said, “For a President who unwittingly stayed away from the beleaguered part of the country for too long, last week’s visit only succeeded in inflicting additional pain and insults on the victims of the insurgency, who had waited for a little dose of succour and empathy from their leader.
“There is no doubt that there has been an upsurge in attacks and killings since the President’s visit, with the clashes between the JTF and the insurgents leaving many dead; the drive-by shooting in Kano claiming the lives of innocent people; and the unfortunate killing of foreign hostages, who were abducted last month in Bauchi.
“If this upsurge can be used as a barometer to measure the success or otherwise of the President’s visit, then one can only reach one conclusion: the visit was a total failure!”
The statement further condemned the way the President “openly displayed anger, when what was needed was temperance”.
It added, “He talked down on the people, who have suffered so much in the hands of Boko Haram, at his town hall meetings.
“The misplaced anger of the nation’s number one citizen, who virtually tongue-lashed the prominent citizens, who spoke on behalf of their people at the town hall meeting, could only attract sympathy for the insurgents among the beleaguered population, thereby worsening the crisis.”

ManirBK: It's a real fact I concur with Mr President. BokoHaram can't strike without the cooperation of the borno peaple. There is always an insider that Spoiled the party! Did you equally commend Jonathan for saying something similar or did you howl and wail like LIE Mohammed of your Alliance of Past/Present Crooks, APC? Sign agreement on no more killings, I will withdraw JTF, Jonathan to Borno elders March 09, 2013
PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan yesterday in Maiduguri, accused Borno State Elders of playing to the gallary over the activities of Boko Haram Islamic sect insurgency in the state, describing the situation as unfortunate.
Jonathan spoke during an interactive session with Borno State stakeholders at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Government House Maiduguri, in continuation of his two- day working visit to Borno and Yobe States, the epicentres of Boko Haram.
He was responding to requests by the Elders for the Federal Government to grant amnesty to the sect members as well as withdraw the military Joint Task Force, JTF from Maiduguri and other areas in the state during the second day of his working visit to Borno State..
President Jonathan lamented that none of the elders in the state had publicly condemned the killings and bombings being carried out by the sect members and advised them to put their ‘’house in order,’’ by talking to their children who had been causing havoc in the country to drop their arms against the country.

Awol1: They are working so hard to gather points they'd consider enough to curry the Eastern votes in 2023.
But hey, I think I need to remind us that the Second Niger bridge was commissioned as Public Private Partnership Project.
What that means, as I remember president GEJ saying then, is that once the govt pays it's counterpart fund for the project, which Jonathan did, the project will go on irrespective of who is in power.
That's the truth they don't want us to remember. A similar arrangement as the standard gauge railways with the Chinese loan completing what the Jonathan administration already paid. That explains the speed of works on the Lagos-Ibadan railways while the express road is at a near standstill. The Alliance of Past/Present Crooks, APC are experts at lies, propaganda and half-truth politicking. www.nairaland.com/attachments/3356469_screenshot20160131120000_jpeg639beaec46d4ced684f639998a489af2 |
