lexy2014: D advanced countries u say don't have okada, pls what type of transportation system do they have? How does okada aid robberies? Is it only okada that scratch peoples cars? If 7 people were killed by okada in d last 2years in abuja, were none killed by cars? How many die on d expressways everyday? Was okada responsible for that? They have metro/light rails and buses plus ferries and taxis for when you have to carry things etc. They also ride bicycles. Their leaders use the mass transit along with everyone else just as many VIPs have been using the Abuja-Kaduna railway built by Jonathan in five years. www.nairaland.com/attachments/3487407_capture_png78f16eee552a85331b9f4f38cd4a8a5fwww.nairaland.com/attachments/3487406_cdr58dmwaaa1ks_jpeg024c9a160dc8033e5150aad8e05fe2aenamkko99: This is the Executive Governor of Abia state, he could not find a seat in a train in UK hence he has to stand.....meanwhile in Nigeria convoys to move around is over 10 cars
www.nairaland.com/attachments/5161652_ode_jpg9e67d3be0ea4113e0ffec072d94e67ac xcelentattitude: One social media user named Karel Van Oosterom posted a picture of the Prime Minister of Netherlands, Mark Rutte riding a bicycle to work. "This is one of the reasons I am proud of the Netherlands - the way our Prime Minister goes to work" he captioned the picture of Mark Rutte exicitedly riding his bicycle to work. This is an abberation to the opulent lifestyle associated with the heads of government of other countries including Nigeria where leaders move around in expensive motorcade with stern-looking body-guards. Mark Rutte has been described as a very humble man who pursues the general will of the people.
Mark Rutte (born 14 February 1967) is a Dutch politician serving as the 50th and current Prime Minister of the Netherlands since 2010 and Leader of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie – VVD) since 2006. Rutte was previously appointed as State Secretary for Social Affairs and Employment from 22 July 2002 to 17 June 2004 and as State Secretary for Education, Culture and Science from 17 June 2004 until 27 June 2006, when he was elected to succeed Jozias van Aartsen as the new VVD Leader.

One4me: Dont mind the fools. Before you protest something, they should have analysed the ban from both angles. By the time the terrorists planning to use Okada to be bombing people in lagos start doing so, it is this same corrupt NGO's that beg for money from foreign Govts, that would carry placard saying Govt is not responding to security threats.
Now that Govt has responded PROACTIVELY, the same jobless fools are protesting it, as if protesting is their source of daily food? OKada ban and Keke Ban is not a total ban, they are still allowed within the inner streets in lagos, so what is the noise about? Are they protesting that Okada and Keke should be plying our Express Roads, our bridges and Motor ways? What manner of stupid and jbless people are these?
We urge the Police to use Pepper spray, Horsewhip and clubs on these fools properly. Beat the sense into them but dont shoot the with bullets, please If they want to protest, they are not protesting the killing and kidnapping of Nigerians on a daily basis, in plateau, taraba, Zamfara and Benue? Someone who cannot read is asking others to analyse an issue. What effrontery of the entitled generation of lazy bone wailers. Did you read what the protesters are asking for in details before exposing your inadequacies on nairaland? www.nairaland.com/attachments/3503973_mumu_jpg0c42fa98412223012808389b5dbf9132https://i.pinimg.com/564x/fd/cb/f3/fdcbf36500d55bf5c7b49a1f1f077fa9.jpg |
Our soldiers need all the support they can get to end this evil that the devilish party bestowed on our nation before they left. We will win this war as a nation.God bless our gallant soldiers as they lay their lives on the line for peace to reign in our darling nation.
We will win when your barawo bubu vomits the $1 billion dollars for equipment that vamoosed under his watch. Modarun: A few months after President Muhammadu Buhari approved $1 billion for the purchase of military hardware for the use of the Nigerian Armed Forces , some Nigerian troops have released a video deploring the poor state of their equipment. In the five -minute video seen on Saturday , a soldier , while lamenting that dozens of troops had died in a recent attack , showed the burnt shells of several tanks and vehicles in the Metele base, which was attacked by the Boko Haram on November 18 . “See the weapons they bring here. These are not working, ” he said .
“These are outdated vehicles, they are not working. They just keep them here for formality, ” said the soldier. “Imagine , they are killing us every day . The situation is getting worse . ” This is coming barely four weeks after the Army celebrated on its Twitter account the delivery of high -grade ammunition . “The Nigerian Army has received a shipment of various ammunition to further enhance its operational capabilities and combat efficiency , ” the army tweeted on October 30.
In April 2018 , Buhari announced the approval of $1bn for the purchase of military hardware. Buhari also in April approved the withdrawal $462 million from the Excess Crude Account ( ECA ) for the procurement of 12 Super Tucano aircraft for the army from the United States. However, the soldiers said despite huge resources released by the government, the Nigeria military only supplies them with obsolete weapons , “ that can ’ t stand any good fight with Boko Haram .” They were heard saying in the video that their commanders are using them to “ make money ” by deploying war tanks that have outlived their usefulness .
The Soldiers had in June protested being redeployed to a battlefront in the remote Lake Chad region after fighting Boko Haram jihadists for years without relief . The release of the five -minute video underscores growing desperation among Nigerian troops . The recent attack on the troops claimed several lives , while the Army did not release the number of casualties , reports have it that at least 44 soldiers were killed among whom was a lieutenant colonel. Although the Nigerian Army and the president reacted to the killing five days after the attack , the army is , however , yet to speak on this video by the soldiers . The military has , however , said in the past that it was committed to the welfare of its soldiers and was doing its best to provide the best weapons for them .
https://m.guardian.ng/news/despite-buharis-1bn-approval-for-arms-soldiers-lament-obsolete-weapons/ https://africanarguments.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/BuhariPoster.jpgchidima2019: The Nigerian Army is yet to access the $1 billion approved by the Federal Government for procurement of arms to fight the raging Boko Haram insurgency in the North East, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, disclosed yesterday.
He told newsmen in Maiduguri that “you know the process of funding is another major issue. The bureaucracy and so on is (are) another issue. Approvals are given but before you really get the money out is another challenge.
“So, the people are talking or the media have been talking of $1 billion that has been approved but I tell you up till today, the fund that is supposed to come from that amount to the army in particular, is still in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) further quoted the COAS as saying: “The Ministry of Defence is yet to access the fund. When the ministry gets the fund, they will get the right equipment for us as proposed.’’
The presidency was, however, silent of the issue when contacted.
Specifically, President Muhammadu Buhari approved the money in April this year.
Army spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Sani Usman, had also confirmed the non-release on a live programme.
But the presidency was not forthcoming when The Guardian sought to know what the authorities were doing to fast-track the release of the money in view of the prevailing insecurity in the country.
In a terse response via an email, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina, simply said: “Your question has already been answered by Army spokesman.” |

BitmapStudios: Point was, how can Jefferson say he prefers freedom to slavery when he himself was a 'slave master'? Not all authors are quote-worthy as they themselves only preached a life they actually didn't live. Thanks for pointing that out. Do you know if he inherited the situation and his words are aspirations matched with subsequent actions in line with the realities of his time? P.S.: I am not trying to excuse his POSSIBLE hypocrisy. |

adamadwealthy: That's how he also stopped Ajaokuta Steel Company in kogi state in the 80s. This Buhari has always been curse. Sad curse. It is curious that those who knew his antecedents nevertheless packaged him for the zonebees to call their messiah.Such a gullible crowd of lazy youths who cannot find out their own history about a candidate. www.nairaland.com/attachments/2095210_worst_jpeg588f192a23aa02a7b350a8bbe5d18306citizenisb: Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says President Muhammadu Buhari may not do well in economy and foreign affairs, except in military matters.
“Buhari is not a very hot person on the economy and foreign affairs,” Obasanjo said.
The former President stated this on Monday at the third International Conference on African Development Issues — themed, “Driving inclusive and sustainable development in Africa: Models, methods and policies” — organised by Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.
While reacting to a question posed to him by a member of the audience: “Is there any hope for Nigeria under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari?”, Obasanjo replied, “Is there any hope for Nigeria under this administration? I came back from Geneva, Switzerland a few days ago to attend a conference titled, ‘Are elections giving democracy a bad name?’ We had an election, we elected a leader and the good thing about democracy is that the power you have to elect a leader is also the power you have to remove him. I am saying this because I said earlier that if you don’t see any leader that has done well in the 56 years of Nigeria’s independence, then let us forget about Nigeria.
“I will tell you what I know and I will tell you what I don’t know. I know Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He served under me in the military. His characteristics that I know, his behaviour that I know, he has not deviated from them. He was never a perfect man, he is not a perfect man and no leader can ever be a perfect man because they are human beings. But if you read my book, what I said about him is correct. He is not a hot person when it comes to economy. He is not a very hot person when it comes to foreign affairs. But he will do well in matters of military and he will do well in fighting Boko Haram.”

AnanseK: 1. You have to go and learn some history about the Military coups in Nigeria, you will know who overthrew the first democratically elected government.
2. So when Buhari cancelled the rail project during his rule as military president, what did PDP do in their 16 years of leadership to bring back this project? Buhari ruled 20 months ( Dec. 1983 to August 1985). PDP ruled for 16 years ( May 1999 to May 2015). Must one be a dullard illiterate like barawo bubu to defend and justify his party's failure? How many times do you Alliance of Past/Present Crooks, APC supporters need to be told that the metro/light rail is a state project since Lagos is no longer the FCT?Are you also confused and having ear problems like the failure in Aso Rock? www.nairaland.com/attachments/3487934_facebook20160217203110_png9d101a62a7f85ccae216ad246dbde300https://www.signalng.com/wp-content/uploads/buhari-ear.jpg |

erinalex: if it's a state project, why not blaming the past civilian Governors of Lagos ? Starting from Otedola, Tinubu down the line. The problem is that your brain has been wire to always blame PMB for everything. PMB did something wrong about 35yrs ago and we are here in 2020, still blaming him.... The point is that, we have all failed collectively. Agreed PMB is bad, but where are the good people to right d wrong of bubu ? Let all of us take responsibility and stop shifting blames all the time. You can abuse and curse PMB for d next 100yrs, that will never solve our problems. Let us direct our energy on what will bring about solutions, you & I know that PMB can never change. But,if u derive any joy or satisfaction in abusing PMB, u can continue. Is barawo bubu no longer the president? Are you the one who forced him to apply for the job for 12 years knowing that he was incompetent and incapable I really pity you supporters of this failure who is an expert in the blame game since forever. www.nairaland.com/attachments/3386584_img20160209151617_jpeged2361e0101fcbb510a35c3f0f40701ewww.nairaland.com/attachments/6435544_img20171219192854_jpege40c9e246bee16b1ba0e19f5685e78e1 |
