Please don't let pressure push you into "studying any course". Believe in yourself, study hard and devote extra hours, resit WAEC and clear your papers. |
Not true.

AmericanDad:I don't see much in my future. I study Mathematics independently and I do Computer programming. I just work to earn money to pay bills and live life till I don't. I don't expect much from this world. |
AmericanDad:No. That's one of the benefits of being a Pessimist. I know that things can always go wrong. |
AmericanDad:Yes. I've read some of his books. On the Heights of Despair A short History of Decay The Fall Into Time Dawn and Quartered Tears and Saints It seems you're too scared to adot Pessimism and Antinatalism even though the arguments makes perfect sense. |
AmericanDad:This is not the first time someone is saying this to me and it definitely won't be the last. |
OP I'm not condemning you for your birthday. But how dare you bring a child into this world ?
|
Squillaci:Have you read any book by "Arthur Schopenhauer" or "Emil Cioran"? If not please do so immediately.

Nembuttal is a drug that if you take, it will take you to sleep and you'll just die in your sleep. Unfortunately such a miraculous drug is not easily available. But you can obtain it illegally from Canada. But is going to be very difficult. I have nothings against suicide, I believe everyone has a Right to Die. Ignore what most of these Nigerians will say to you, they don't actually comprehend the tragedy of life. I'll send you a good book on WhatsApp. It's a pessimistic book on life but it would help you. Is titled "On The Heights of Despair" by Emil Cioran. |
Squillaci:I love you for this post. Some people are just crazy. Celebrating a birth that brought you into a world filled with untold suffering and death is like a prisoner on a death camp rejoicing over his sentence. |
Before I leave my response, I want you to understand that suicide is not necessarily caused by depression. History tells us that ancient Germanic tribes would rather gather themselves in groups and commit suicide than to allow themselves to be captured by Roman warriors and used as slaves and/or gladiators. Some philosophers and poets actually committed suicide in the past out of philosophical reasons alone and mother out of depression. So back to your question: It surprises me that people still come online to ask about the causes of depression. Is being a human being not enough to give one depression? If I was born into this world, practically forced into school for almost 20 years of my life, and then I have to become a cooperate slave just to make enough money to pay bills till I eventually die, is that not enough to make one feel depressed? Not only that, this life is just too hard for us humans. Almost everything in life is enough to drive someone into major depression. Lastly, you cannot save someone who is unhappy, most people think they can quote Bible verses and motivational words to depressed people and that it can actually save those people. But fact is that real life is much more complex than that, words like "Believe in yourself", "Be happy", " Better days ahead", etc, are actually meaningless to a person in a state of despair and cannot sleep. |
The number of Chinese characters actually exceed 50,000 and a minimum of 5,000 is required for basic literary. |
wonder233:I understand you my dear Sir. You see, that is African mentality and we all have parents and siblings obsessed with this beliefs. Although marriage and childbirth made them miserable, they'll persecute you for trying to live a peaceful life. I understand you really. But you see. Imagine having found a partner that shares a lot of things in common with you, someone that understands you and truly loves you. If that partner agrees with my wish to live a child free life then I see no reason why marriage cannot happen between us. You can marry your partner and try to live a peaceful life without giving any flying 747 Bleep about what some ignorant people around you thinks. I live in a country and society where stupidity is the rule but that can never deter me in any way to relinquish my sense of reasoning and stoop to their level of ignorance. It's okay if you don't want to get married yet on the grounds that you've never found your soulmate yet. But having found the perfect person, I see no reason for anybody not to get married on the grounds of the stupidity of people around you. It's your life not theirs. |
wonder233:Nothing wrong with marriage. But procreation is a necessary evil that needs to end. Check my created topics for more information |
victorian:, Regardless of whatever you do tomorrow. Never commit the crime of bringing a child into this world of suffering and death. |
mascot87:You must have been an Optimist. It's only optimistic persons that consider suicide. As a pessimist, seeing that life is a tragedy, I do not contemplate suicide because I expect nothing from this world. Disappointments weigh me down for sure but they no longer move me that much because I know that we live in a miserable world where a person can try his best in things and still fail. I just live my life pursuing knowledge, I don't have much friends and I don't bother to because I prefer a thousand times to be alone with myself than to even stand close to people that will never understand me. No need to commit suicide Sir. Life is a tragedy and a joke. Why take it serious? |
jchioma:So you'd prefer he continue to endure the endless suffering and sorrows just to keep people around him happy? I think not. You see, I'm not in support of suicide but I know that this life we live is too hard. I believe everyone has the Right to die. |
Jaqenhghar:I still remember the way this woman fought hard during the Chibok girls saga. To an average Nigerian, the only form of protest they respect is cancelling a meeting or a show. Whether you're going to to address the issue, they don't care, just do your eye service and cancel the show so that they can be happy. I know this is not the right time to bring this up, but people should never be quick to forget how we treated Ghanians in the 80's. The "Ghana Must Go" movement was so xenophobic that almost all foreign countries in Europe and Asia called it the "Height of human rights violations". We maltreated Ghanians and reduced them to second class citizens. Scores of people died and lost their properties. Even the " Ghana Must Go" bag we manufactured just to spite and shame them is still in use today. Is that not the height of Xenophobia? Do we have any Right to called any country Xenophobic if we are to be honest with ourselves? What is happening now is not peculiar to African countries or black people, the German's did it to the Jewish people, the government of Turkey did it to the Armenians, etc. . I expected the President to attend that event and use that opportunity to dialogue with SA leaders. The youths will always be mischievous and the bad ones among them will definitely highjack the event to loot for their selfish interest. It is only intervention from the government that can end this madness not lip service and media trials. |
Jaqenhghar:Only sensible comment I've read here so far. Nigerians disgust me with their hypocrisy and profound foolishness. |
After they'll say my philosophy is too dark. All the sufferings of this world will end when humans decide not to bring children into this world. By bringing a child into this world, you're exposing that child to all the evils of this world. . End childbirth now. Save your future offsprings from this unnecessary sufferings.
