opella:This man should free me lemme shine o. I've tried to convince him that it's hair that is not even or growing that they cut o. This one he's finding better one, which other better one again ngwanu? I won't let him cut it o |
curvilicious:Washing too often robs the hair of its natural oils, so once or twice weekly is just fine. Organic oils too are better than normal baby oils (mineral oils) cause the hair absorbs the organic oils but mineral oils block the pores. So I learnt on newborn thread ![]() |
opella:The hair is from her father's family o, I don't use anything on it. We only wash with soap once or twice weekly. All other washing is just to run water through. Was using baby oil on it till I learnt mineral oils are not good for the hair so we switched to coconut oil. I feel like eating her head after rubbing it on. ![]() We've not started any other orishirish yet o, cos I didn't know I was going to have a girl. When she clocks 3 months we can then go out and start buying. For now, even one single hair pin, we no get. [s] B4 b4, I wanted a boy first, but now, I won't have it any other way [/s] ![]() You need to see the way her father threatens me that we'll cut the hair. He says it anytime he wants to see me boil. Abeg, is it compulsory to cut baby's hair? Cos me I'm not planning to o, except the hair starts misbehaving. Still thinking of how to convince the man to drop the idea. He says we should cut it so better one can grow. Abeg, what do I do? ![]() How's your baby doing? |

hunniesuzie:What about for heat/sweat? I used to use it but stopped when I was told it wasn't good for babies. What can I use for heat then? |
JGracious:As in ehnn.. Me that my baby can soo sweat! You need to see her forehead, neck and all those folds around her thigh whenever we're feeding, including inside her thick full hair. She can only sleep very well after a nice real bath. Maybe na their weather sha,, cos with all this heat here ehn, we no fit even try rub and shine! ![]() |
Nimi22: Na frustration na My mum had done everything possible, from pleading with me, to yabbing me, to threatening me with all sorts, plus bitter leaf rubbing, plus hot pepper rubbing. She even threatened to slice my thumb into two and pour hot pepper inside! ![]() She would wrap my thumb with plaster and dare me remove it, I would suck through it till all the gum is gone and it falls off itself ![]() She blasted me so tey, I felt I was cursed. I was kukuma frustrated o. I still sucked even after the prayer o when I caught myself sucking!Thank God he doesn't answer all our prayers o I for don die on top sucking matter ![]() That diary ehnnnn, anytime I open it to update, body go jus weak me. But I will try soon sha. Oya, you go update yours ![]() |
Nimi22: Hehehe... I sucked my thumb as a kid tho, till around 6-8 years ish I remember my mum doing all sorts to make me stop, including dashing me hot slaps in the middle of the night from my ulala land. or kill me if I suck again ![]() Can't even remember how I stopped. I might have a soft spot for her sucking (cos I sucked ) and believe she will stop with time, but my dh won't even hear of it rara! Make I kukuma follow you go buy mitten be that na. She sucks her mouth too, as if she's sucking bwess ![]() |
Nimi22:Even my babe does the spitting thing o. Izz like she enjoys playing with it sef, cos as I'm wiping off spittle, she's bubbling out more, as if purposely. And then, she sucks on her fist. She wee jus bee sucking it as if she's hungry, even when she's fully fed. Hope that one no follow for hand sucking abi? Cos I'd like to think she's just playing? ![]() |
Awesomemama:Chai, my dear, I no know o. But I remember the first few weeks I was always drinking hot water. As in, real hot, throat scalding water o, taken in sips. Any liquid I drank must be hot, and I drank drums, as in, plenteous drums of hot water/liquid. I drank much more than I ate (but eat well sha o, so you won't go dizzy while breastfeeding). I had to stop the hot liquid when the flow was just too much. Now I maintain it by feeding her very well and as often as possible. We do exclusive, and feed every 1-2 hours when she's awake, and sometimes 3 or 4 hours if she sleeps that long. Just try the hot water first. |
beautifulrosa:That river Niger flow abi? I can't go to bed without wrapping up them boobsies inside a heavy towel, if not ehn, bed go just dey like where two bedwetters sleep! I can't even drink anything hot, e go just dey run like tap wey no get cover. ![]() SSeriously o, who needs bweastmilk, comman collect oo ![]() |
Laureen007:My oh my! This smile is to kill for meehn |
beautifulrosa:You better rejoice and be glad. Some babies are like that, but then with time, they change. My babe fit pity me sleep really well some days, then change after some days. I enjoy the sleep time when it comes, and move around like zombie at other times ![]() I remember one incidence that happened one night in her first week that she didn't sleep all through the night. In the morning, mumsy bathed her and she started sleeping (she would sleep all day and stay awake all night). Just as I wanted to start my own sleep, an aunt visited. It was not enough that I had to deprive myself of sleep to answer her o, she went straight to carry up sleeping baby! ![]() ![]() It was so painful to watch the way she carried her and started shaking her that she must wake up for her to see ![]() All my pleas of "babe didn't sleep all night" fell on deaf ears. Immediately baby finally woke, she just forwarded her to me to breastfeed. ![]() I jus dey swear for her for my mind ![]() All am trying to say is, as long as he wakes up to feed regularly, enjoy your sleeping Prince now o, e go soon change ![]() |
Liftedhands:Ewooo! What nonsense?! What stupid mind your business?! Until my sister is killed abi?See ehn, they will call village meeting on top me and that mil o, and I will gladly apologise, that is, after I have joyfully done what's on my mind o! Either she leaves the way by force or by choice. In fact, her son might have to leave my sister and come rescue his mama from me. Like I said, I will willingly apologise later o, but I can never sit still and watch some stupid husband beating my blood. He better beat me join! Wetin sef?! In fact, God forbid sef. Make I no even imagine am ![]() |
Congrats to beautifulrosa, yorubawoman, zino89 and all new mamas. Enjoy the stress of vigilante ![]() |
4realwoman:As for me o, I wasn't given any malaria drug during my pregnancy. When I asked the nurses, they asked if I was having malaria and wanted referring me to a doctor. I said I wanted the preventive dose and they said the can't prescribe anything and would only refer me to a doctor if indeed I was having malaria. ![]() Na so I dust my bumbum comot. I tried to avoid mosquitoes sha, and all was well with me till around 37/38 weeks that I came down with malaria! I had read here not to use malaria drugs after 36 weeks ish, and I was scared. I sha got a drug and used o, (with prayers ) and the malaria disappeared. My babe came out perfectly OK, with sucking anointing In fact, she sucks like a boy ![]() After all my story, I don't know what to advise you o cos I won't say follow my steps. Just sharing my personal experience.Make sabi mamas come chook mouth. ![]() Btw, Ahnie who offend you? Why did you delete your dayarii?
