Laureen007:My milk was already flowing but in tiny drops before I delivered. Cs was done in the morning and I couldn't eat that day and the next. My water mamas fed my baby Glucose water all through, and when I was stronger, I would try to press my breastmilk into her mouth. She too was just learning how to latch. When I was allowed to eat, I kept downing jugs of hot beverages, water. By the third day after cs, milk was flowing real good. Baby was getting used to cup and spoon, but I wouldn't let her. Despite my pains, I would insist they bring her to me to breastfeed. Gradually she started getting used to sucking, even though her cheeks would get tired and she would stop. I kept assisting her by pressing into her mouth. She's beginning to suck like a pro now. ![]() Just keep at it. Even if you use formula, keep putting him to the breast, he'll learn gradually. |

Part 2. DH and kid bro were just in the next room and they could hear everything. Mumsy stayed by my head side, even though her doctor colleague kept asking her to leave. She just wouldn't buldge. All was set and someone was asked to pray. Meanwhile, I had requested for the type where I could watch things happen, but the doctor said no way! I was too curious and wouldn't let him work freely. Remember that we had some sought of relationship and I was really worried if he would be able to deliver. So they started praying, and that was the last thing I remembered. Then I began to have all kinds of dreams that I couldn't explain. Then I would come back to the subconscious and hear myself groaning. I could hear mumsy by my head side holding my head and consoling me. Then I would zoom off to my inexplicable dreamland. Mum said that I would start groaning when the anesthesia began to wear off, and then some more would be given. My baby was brought out and guess what? Her cord was tied into a tight nut. This was where she got her food from, and was breathing through, so how come it was tightly nutted and she was still alive? The surgeon said in all his years of practice, he had never seen a baby survive with a nutted cord. Secondly, her amniotic fluid was totally exhausted, yet my overcomer baby was still alive and kicking. Then, even though she was positioned head down, she was going to come out with her face. Like, her face was supposed to face the anus, but it was facing the veejay. Natural labour would have been really stressful, and considering the nutted cord and finished amniotic fluid, who knows how long more she would have survived the stress? Forthly, fibroids were brought out of me. As in NINE FIBRIODS! Two mighty ones and seven smaller ones. I was initially scared and suggested that they shouldn't touch the fibroids that were seen in scan cos of loss of blood like I read on this thread. Remember that my PCV was already low. Imagine more loss of blood... The doctor himself said not many doctors would agree to do both together, it was quite risky. He just trusted God to make it successful. The doctor really took his time searching everywhere for anymore fibroids, cos scan only picked two. My dh was called in to see the fibroids while doctor was still working, and the guy almost fainted. He had to be taken out immediately. Doc then asked mum to call dad since hubby no get liver. Dad came in, saw all the fibroids and walked out without saying a word. Guyman had stepped into the next room and was weeping! Like real tears. Mumsy followed him out since he didn't say a word only to meet my old man in tears. He was like, so all those things were in my daughter and she was still able to conceive? And the baby survived all the toxic environment and still came out 3.8? That he was shedding tears of joy. Mum came back to me in the theatre and they finished up. I was shuffling between the subconscious world and the unconscious. I knew when I was being lifted back to my room. Gradually I came through. When I could talk, I simply asked dh, boy or girl? He said girl and I immediately slept back. They brought her picture to me and all I could see were pink lips. She came out so hairy that anyone who saw her was just ogling. One said that was the reason for my consistent heartburn. I could see dh all over her, from her skin colour to her hair and even facial features. It really did end in praise, and my testimonies are unquantifiable. The only thing now is, since yesterday, I'm not being allowed to even taste water till I fart. Me that was Queen of Farts in my pregnancy is using torchlight to find it now. Baby farted one big one and I asked her to dash me. You people should help me beg God to dash me fart so I can at least take water and feed my girl. I don't even need food, just fart... END OF BS. |
My Birth Story. Part 1. Immensely grateful to God Almighty for granting even me, this privilege, I am most unworthy. Got married last year and ttced for about 3 months (if you call it so), because I previously thought once you're married, pregnancy is sure. I know better now. Early into the pregnancy, I was having cramps. Someone on this thread once had a miscarriage after cramping, so I didn't want to take it for granted. Went to the hospital and doc did vaginal swab and urine test and treated me for candida and UTI. Around 12 weeks, cramping started again and dh and I went to another hospital. Did scanning and they said there were 2 fibroids militating against the pregnancy. Said he could only prescribe tramadol asides PCM, but that it was risky sha. I decided I couldn't take the risk and would rather bear the pains. It wasn't funny, but gradually the pains stopped. At 20 weeks, I went for another scan in a different place, and the sonographer said there was no fibroids. You needed to see my joy. Gradually we kept on. All the scans we did and LO refused to show us gender. Around 30 weeks, we decided we would travel home since my mum is a nurse. Around 38 weeks, we took off for my hometown. Hubby's leave was meant to start at 39 weeks, then he would join me fully. So he just took me to mumsy and returned to work the next day. Mumsy's hospital was on strike, so we went to a private hospital belonging to a doctor from her general hospital. He was the one who delivered me years ago, and his medical practice had gone way back. He scanned and tested me and said 1. Baby was overdue 2. Amniotic fluid was decreasing 3. Baby was big 4. Fetal heartbeat was at the peak of normal 5. There were fibroids, and not just one or two 6. My PCV was quite low at 30% My mum is a staunch believer in the Hebrew women birth, so she got offended when I asked her twice how much does cs cost. She was like, why am I asking? So I kept quiet. My dad returned home in the evening and asked how our hospital runs went. I told him doctor said baby was big and already overdue. Dad simply said, then go and bring your baby out na. Mumsy was shocked, like, is that what your saying? That was how I had a partner and my voice became stronger. I asked her if having a cs was a sin. She said, no but... I said then no buts. ![]() She sha agreed to go discuss it with the doctor. Very early the next day, she had already booked a date in her mind for the cs. She went to see doctor and he said, the reason why he didn't say anything the previous day was cause he wouldn't know my reaction. He said having a cs was best for me. Immediately, they called dh and related things to him and he began to prepare to come immediately. We decided to use a few days to boost my PCV from 30% before the cs. We were booked against Tuesday, my 39th week. Hubby was back by Sunday, and Monday evening, we went to the Hospital. My blood pressure that was normal all through my pregnancy had suddenly shot up. They checked my PCV and said it had only increased by 3% Asked us to go get donors. Luckily for me, mum, dad and dh all had matching blood groups, so they were screened one after the other. Dad's was not enough to donate, mum's and dh's were better. That night, we all slept at the hospital, excluding dad. My younger brother joined us to sleep over. Very early the next morning, they came to collect the blood. Two pints were collected from mum and dh. I took my bath, a nurse came to shave me and I was taken to the theatre. Mum was really nervous, and kept praying, and the doctor told her not to come to the theatre with us. Na lie o, she said she wanted to pray with me and that was how she entered and stayed. Before the main surgeon got in, I was being prepared by two others, but I was not comfortable with them. I kept asking if the main surgeon wasn't coming. Thank God they didn't code that I was trying to say I'm not comfortable with them. |
Wow! Too many mentions, numerous likes. I'm so grateful for the awesome show of love. I'm still at the hospital, still in pains, but lemme submit my BS sharp sharp. Please pray with me for quick recovery. BS in a bit. |
