Politics / Re: Buhari Appoints Junaid Abdullahi, His Son-In-Law As Head Of Border Agency by AnyoneButAtiku: 7:08pm On Nov 05, 2018

@POLITICSNGR

Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari has silently appointed his Son-in-law, Junaid Abdullahi as the head of Nigeria's Border Communities Development Agency, PoliticsNGR has learned.

According to Premium Times, Abdullahi was married to President Buhari's first daughter, Zulaihat, who passed away in 2012 from complications developed during childbirth at the age of 40.

The retired army captain quietly resumed duties on October 18, taking over from Ummai Idakwo, the former director of the agency.

According to a Government Source, the appointment was likely hushed in order to save the President from accusations of Nepotism. President Buhari has been plagued with accusations of nepotism since 2015 from critics who believe his appointments were lopsided.

https://politicsngr.com/just-buhari-appoints-son-law-head-border-agency/

So he is the only retired captain deemed qualified for this particular role?

What's with this President and the allure of nepotism? angry

It is still no to #Atikulooters though.

I gave you a 'like' because what you said isactually true!
I am also a Buhari-supporter and this coming from Atiku, is really shocking.

For an Atiku that has been sharing Dollars, raising the bar from $2,500 to $10,000 per delegate, through which he clinched the PDP ticket, it is sheer hypocrisy.

Also, for an Atiku who took over 400 supporters to Dubai, for a meeting, l guess all the forex he spent in Dubai will be sent back to Nigeria?
This is why any sensible Nigerian must think twice before supporting this desperate fugitive called Atiku-looter.

Now, as a Buhari supporter (at least l voted for him in 2015), l am wondering why he would donate a whooping $500, 000 to Guinea Bissau?
What is Nigeria's interest in Guinea Bissau when that money can build a standard Hospital in Nigeria or can be used to build a well equipped Motherless babies Home or even used to subsidze tution fees for University students or just used to defray the cost of WAEC Exams for our children?

It then dawned on me that the Fulanis, those HErdsmen of which Buhari is one, ORIGINALLY FROM Futa Jalon, located in Guinea Bissau!
So, Buhari is using Nigeria's money to bail-out his family and people in Futa Jalon of Guinea Bissau!

I just hope that one day, we will not wakeup and see that Buhari and Atiku (Both are Fulani from Futa Jalon), have dashed the whole Nigeria to their fellow Fulani Herdsmen from Guinea Bissau.

We all need to stay awake and be watchful of what is going-on in the Middle Belt, as Buhari continues to allow his Futa Jalon Fulani Herdsmen continue to wreack havoc on the indigenes in a bid to take over their land

Your post is incendiary and hateful because it seeks to ethnicise a humanitarian cause.
Does the country consist of only one ethnic group?

By the way, Futa Jallon is in Guinea - which was colonised by the French.
Guinea Bissau on the other hand, the land where "no fist hids the sun", is a much smaller country that was colonised by the Portuguese.

‘Ghana will help restore normalcy to Guinea Bissau’ - Akufo-Addo

Saturday, 2 June 2018

President Akufo-Addo welcoming Mr Aristides Gomez (left), Prime Minister of Guinea Bissau to the Jub

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has pledged Ghana’s commitment towards ensuring the restoration of normalcy to Guinea Bissau.

Guinea Bissau is scheduled to hold its elections in November this year but the country is facing challenges with raising funds to organise the polls.

... ...

.. ....

President Akufo-Addo, thus, promised to push the agenda for support for that country’s election at the next ECOWAS and the Africa Union meetings and said, “I’m confident that something would be done.”

“Everybody is encouraged by you and the manner in which you have come; we recognise that this is a historic opportunity to try and bring this long standing crisis to a closure. So whatever be the case, you can count on me, you can count on Ghana for us to make a strong case as well as the post electoral situation as far as the ECOMOG is concerned.”

Equatorial Guinea to provide financial support to Guinea-Bissau's legislatures

04.07.2018

Guinea-Bissau's Prime Minister, Aristides Gomes, said today that Equatorial Guinea will provide financial support for the country's parliamentary elections.

Aristides Gomes talked to reporters at a press conference to make a balance of his visit to Equatorial Guinea last week.

"We have shared with the Equatorial Guinea authorities the evolution of the process that should lead Guinea Bissau to elections and political stabilization, and due to the situation, the President has promised to participate financially in the preparation of the elections in Guinea-Bissau," he told reporters.

The Guinean Prime Minister said that the amount of support has not been set yet and it should be announced soon.

"We are waiting at all times for this amount to be announced to our authorities", he said.

Aristides Gomes added that the cooperation between the two countries was also addressed in the meetings he had with the authorities from Equatorial Guinea, including the country's President, Teodoro Obiang.

"We discussed some ideas and one of them concerns the possibility of the airline (from Equatorial Guinea) making a connection between Guinea-Bissau and abroad. We think it could contribute to increasing Guinea-Bissau's connection to the world", he added.

In the context of the organization of parliamentary elections in Guinea-Bissau, scheduled for November 18th, Aristides Gomes has visited Guinea- Bissau partners in order to secure support for the ballot to take place on schedule.

This is the ‘Change’ we voted for!

ON NOVEMBER 4, 20189:24 AM

By Godwin Amadi

Some people glamourize regret as if it’s a virtue or an endowment. All some posers need to do to remain relevant on social media is to say they regret voting Buhari. Others less imaginative ask, “Is this the change we voted for”? Whenever I hear these, I am reminded that loyalty is a high-price commodity.

What are you regretting? If you real voted “change” what did you have in mind? Instead of revealing in your ignorance, should you not be ashamed that you lacked the basic understanding of what you espoused? At your age and with your level of education you still dance to every beat? Shame!

This is the “change” I campaigned and voted for. From inception, I know real, lasting change comes at a high cost and discomfort. Have you ever attempted to change your life, weight, values or complexion? Did it come cheap or easy? Why do many people fail to life up to their New Year resolution? Genuine change at any level is tough and cruel at first. Nigeria will not be an exception.

What happens when corporate organisations decide to change processes and procedures in the workplace? It is usually resisted because most people prefer the status quo. Corporate changes like mergers, acquisitions and reconstructions create imbalance and uncertainties in the concerned entities. I know a man whose workforce reduced by 75%when he restricted (or effected change in) his company. Today the same man is shouting his voice hoarse that Buhari’s change is draconian and insensitive. Hypocrite!

How do we become self-sufficient in food production? The answer is simple: make heavy investment in agriculture and ban importation of foods that deplete our foreign reserve. Take rice for instance. As long as there are no restrictions on the importation of rice, local farmers will not grow rice and our exotic taste buds will not be restricted. If I were Buhari, I would put a total ban on the importation of rice.

Take cars, fabrics and wines (and spirits) for another instance. Something drastic needed to be done about our appetite for cars, clothes and wines. The cumulative costs of importing this trio into Nigeria consumed a substantial share of our foreign reserve. Buhari says NO. He argues that if you must use these imports, ten be ready to pay a premium price for them. This is simple logic and economics. This is especially so since global price has dwindle and tempers are high in Niger Delta.

Goods are more expensive in Nigeria today because Buhari insists that most of the products we import can and should by produced locally. By so doing, he has flung open unending investment and job opportunities for Nigerians especially. While reserving limited foreign exchange for some critical sectors of the economy, Buhari is urging them to make hay while the sun shines. Buhari is CHANGING the way we live, and the pain we now experience are his instruments of CHANGE. You can only take it, but you can’t reject it.

Why is Buhari putting these strategic restrictions on our consumption pattern? If you are a PDP or a hater, these restrictions are to punish Nigerians. But to the dispassionate observer, Buhari’s stance is the most effective route to Nigeria’s escape from economic doldrums festered by inordinate importation of all and every product. Some countries in Asia, Africa and North America have provided infallible precedents to what Buhari has set out to do.

What has happened so far? Buhari is in a mad hurry to fix the refineries.About six states are now producing rice in commercial quantities. Cross River sate has almost completed what is arguably the largest textile mill in Africa. Buhari is challenging Nigerians to introspect and unleash their creative geniuses. Unfortunately, politics is providing a distracting counter-intuition to these breath-taking developments.

Where will Nigeria be in 10 years if we continue (or forced to continue) to look inwards? Imagine what will happen if we continue to produce a large chunk of what we eat, wear, drink,. Imagine when Aba, Sokoto, Nnewi, Kano, Ondo, Osun, Benue and Nasarawa turn natural endowments into skills; imagine when our universities and polytechnics wake up. Imagine when our industries and blue-chip companies begin to produce. Only a bold step like Buhari’s CHANGE will give form to these imaginations.

If you did not understand Buhari’s change, it is not Buhari’s fault. Regretting voting Buhari says so much about your character. Asking “Is this the change we voted for” is the clearest indication that you must never be taken seriously again. You are a plastic supporter, but having read what I have written here, I suppose your mind has been bought back to life for us to continue the project of CHANGE we started in 2015 by pushing Buhari to continue again in 2019

Atiku’s INTELS apologises, pays N13.2bn into TSA

February 22, 2018

INTELS Nigeria Limited, owned by former Vice President Atiku has finally apologised to the Federal Government over a controversial contract arrangement which it was accused of breaching last year.

National Daily gathered that the company has paid $42.6 million (N13.2 billion) into the Nigerian Port Authority’s Treasury Single Account (TSA) as part of the revenue it collected for the agency.

The Managing Director of NPA, Hadiza Bala Usman, stated this while addressing members of the House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee probing into the matter, saying that the company after receiving termination notice from the Agency, wrote to apologise for not complying with TSA and the new sharing formula.

She said as a result, INTELS has paid the sum $28.1million into the Agency’s TSA account with a notice of additional $14.5million said to have been paid, but yet to be confirmed by the NPA.

“The implementation of TSA by the Federal Government compelled the authority to remit revenue generated directly into government coffers while NPA in turn pays agency fees of 28 percent of whatever was generated to INTELS,” she said.

She said according to NPA’s calculation of $4 million per month as government’s share, based on the previous agreement, what accrued to NPA would be $48 million.

Usman said NPA has two layers of relationship with INTELS namely management agency where it collects revenues on behalf of NPA and keeps 28 percent and port infrastructure development on the basis of which INTELS constructed and manages the Onne Port in Rivers State.

She explained that the initial agreement gave INTEL the powers to generate and keep 28 percent of revenue collected on behalf of NPA.

“The NPA under the new management had to come up with a new draft that incorporated a sharing formula in a model that complies with the TSA, which was why we said they should start remitting directly to the TSA while the NPA pays its 28 percent agency fees,” she added.

The agreement, according to her, expires in 2020, which makes it 10 years.

He also detailed the sharp practices engaged by Atiku and his boys in office. He pointed to the then President as being aware of the dirty practices by Atiku.

Nasiru El Rufai, frustrated by Atiku’s antics, offered to resign. But the then President refused to accept his resignation.

Bunkering:
However, the cheap price of the subsidised fuel in the Nigerian market has promoted another type of stealing. This is called 'bunkering'. Originally this bunkering covered the theft of crude oil. Every day the Nigerian economy loses between 150,000 and 320,000 barrels of oil. These are stolen by 'bunkerers', who have small tanker vessels which load the oil in the Delta and tranship this stolen oil to offshore tankers which deliver this stolen oil to other West African states. Further inland illegal tanker trucks load their stolen oil and refined products and drive these into neighbouring countries for black market sale. At the current price of around US$50 per barrel this amounts to a 'leakage' of around US$7.5 to US$16 million a day for the sale of crude oil. The sale of refined products adds to the total. On a monthly basis this amounts to around US$365 million or US$4.4 billion a year.

This illegal trade was pioneered under President Abacha when Akhigbe, Victor Ombu and Ibrahim Ogohi perpetrated the smuggling of petroleum products from Port Harcourt and Warri to neighbouring West African countries. When a real effort at anti-corruption was undertaken by the journalists of the 'Insider', retribution was swift and severe. The editor-in-chief, Chucks Onwudinjo, and Janet Mba-Afolabi, both executive editors of Insider, a weekly magazine, were picked up by men of the State Security Services. Their arrest and detention were on the orders of Atiku Abubakar, the vice-president. They were arrested on Monday, November 24, 2004

While the nation enjoyed Ed-el-fitri public holiday, the trio cooled their heels at the Panti Police Station in Yaba, Lagos where they were detained for a story the Insider ran in its November 24 edition. The story, which made the magazine's cover alleged that Abubakar and a close colleague were behind a bunkering ring recently smashed at the Forcados and Escravos Creeks.

Specifically, Atiku was accused of being behind three of the vessels, MT Gloria. MT Tina and MT Sara, which had about 4,000 metric tonnes of crude oil aboard, while his colleague was allegedly linked to two vessels, MT Berinelo and MT Breton 1 with 17,800 metric tons aboard. The eight ships captured in the bunkering deal collectively had about 124 million barrels on board valued at N35 billion.

On August 30, security officials attached to the Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, attacked and beat into coma, Akintunde Akinleye, a photojournalist with the Daily Independent newspaper. He was eventually compensated in a face-saving mission by the Vice President. He received $1,900 and N 56,287.00 cash.

This bunkering has continued despite the efforts of the Joint Task Force and other law enforcement officers largely because bunkering has the blessing of the local state governors and the high federal officials who condone and prosper from the bunkering operations.

I have said this before and will do so again; Garba Shehu is a serious liability to the current administration. Why tell lies that can easily be punctured? Why does he insist on making exagerrated claims of his own at each and every turn?

Even Femi Adeshina did a serious disservice when he branded it an "attestation certificate" in the first place. What can't this government run a tighter ship when it comes to the dissemination of information? There are other holes in that press release that I will address later.

You mean the same #Lootocrat who plans to sell off our refineries under his Atikulooter 2.0 program will simultaneously reduce the price of fuel? grin grin grin

2019: Your plans to sale Nigeria’s refineries callous, anti-people, BMO tells Atiku

“Our position is that any private entity that desires to own and operate companies in the oil and gas sector, especially in the refinery subsector, should go ahead and secure license and establish their own refineries.

Businessman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has shown example in this regard with his 650 thousand barrels a day refinery in Lekki, Lagos State.

“It is appropriate to question, at this point, the going status of the many public corporations sold off at highly undervalued rates to cronies and fronts of high government officials between 2002 and 2007 when Alhaji Atiku was the nation’s Vice President. Status reports on the various operations of these corporations indicate vastly diminished operations and viability.

“Thankfully, we are already experiencing a revival in the oil and gas sector under the disciplined superintendent of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. The refineries are recording increased refining capacity while gas supplies to electricity generating companies have increased by more than 100 percent over the last 12 months.”

Led the team from Ghana.. see contradiction. So Ghana get say as the HQ. The response was from WAEC HQ in 2015. Why didn't they direct them to Nigeria. No record is no record not no record in Ghana or Nigeria. This issue no be big deal. Let's move on . Nigerians are not stupid. PMB was voted for against a Dr
Cert didnt matter NEPA cert or not

Back in 2015...

Certificate saga: Only Buhari can request for result verification – WAEC
ON JANUARY 21, 20159:13 PM

...WAEC Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Lagos, Mr. Yusuf Ari in a telephone conversation with Vanguard said, “No individual has the legal right to approach WAEC for the verification of another person’s result except the owner of the result.

He explained that the constitutional right vested on the Freedom of Information law does not include invasion of privacy adding, “The certificate in question belongs to Muhammadu Buhari and he alone has the right to apply for verification.

“Be that as it may, WAEC cannot take any action except, the owner of the certificate asked us to do so. We are an independent body, therefore, we cannot be partisan on this issue,” he said.

According to Ari, all the former Head of State needs to do is to apply by given WAEC the name of his school, Examination number and year of the examination and the result will be verified.

Now before you ask why the verification exercise was not carried out in 2015, read my earlier response (below).

It was his prerogative to do this in his own time.
After all, an affidavit still carries weight in our country.

What is more, for all you and I know, Jonathan/Dasuki might have ensured he got the same short shrift treatment he got from the ARMY he onced served from WAEC also. Sure we can ruminate over the "ifs" and "hows" now, but let's never forget why his "missing certificate" became an issue in the first place - to stop him from contesting, out of fear!

Politics / Media Reports Linking Me To Pmb’s WAEC Saga Is Disturbing And Fraudulent—aguiyi by AnyoneButAtiku: 5:29pm On Nov 03, 2018
The ruling party's mission was to stop Buhari from contesting by ALL MEANS POSSIBLE, once he won the Presidential primaries of the APC.

What you posted up there was just one of several contrived documents placed in the public domain to sow discord and confusion.

Media Reports Linking Me To PMB’s WAEC Saga Is Disturbing And Fraudulent—Aguiyi

28 October 2016

Mr. Clem Aguiyi the founder and President of Move on Nigeria have disassociated himself from the regurgitated news making rounds on the internet associating his name with President Buhari’s certificate saga. I am not in court with the president neither was I part of any court processes in the past, it’s important we set the record straight.
Mr. Aguiyi who is a critic of the Buhari’s administration said that he doesn’t know who is using his name on the issue but that he first saw his name linked to the certificate saga on the internet and later in some national dailies during the campaign period. He said he was surprised because I never specifically wrote to WAEC or Cambridge for any result verification. I was surprised at this but saw it like some of those campaign issues, which very often are meant to distract the other side and not because they are factual reports.

‘With the campaign long over, what faces Nigeria now is good governance and no more the qualification or other wise of the winner. Even during the campaign those of us on the other side knew that the APC candidate was well qualified to run for President. We knew that he is more than qualified to run for president given his record of service as a retired Army General , ex-Head of State , ex-Governor and Former Minister of Petroleum’ .

Mr. Aguiyi in a statement distributed to Journalists in Lagos admitted that the PDP allowed the WAEC controversy to rage so that it will distract the APC campaign and slow down their momentum but the tactics never worked’. He admitted that APC ran a better organized campaign and won deservedly but dismayed that the party is unable to replicate the same tact in managing its success as government.

Mr. Aguiyi urged Nigerians to move beyond whether the president possessed WAEC certificate or not and focus on getting the administration to fulfill its campaign promises to the masses.

He noted that he remains a critic of the government wrong policies because he is a stake holder and there are people whose job it is to hold the government accountable just like there are people who will always support the government whether the government is right or wrong.

“Both the critics and the president’s rabid supporters are all acting in public interest and should be allowed to co-exist in the interest of democracy. Those who criticize government policies and actions are neither enemies of the state nor enemies of the president just like all those shouting his praises today are not necessarily his friends. The President will know his friends when he leaves power”.

Answering questions on the recent public spat between the President and his wife Mr. Aguiyi said both first couples were right and wrong in their utterances but that Nigerians should focus more on the teachable moments rather than the drama of what the President said or what the wife said.

In my view the first ladies statements teaches that the President is not infallible; that he can be criticized and disagreed with without the fear of any loss. Now that we know his wife is close to the people, I will encourage Nigerians with solutions to our myriads of problems to reach her so that even from the other room she can table our petitions before the president.
