PoliticsRe: Troops Bust Mahmuda Camp, Arrest 12 In Kainji Lake Sweep by aonom(m): 1:10pm On May 12, 2025
The recent arrest of the12 suspected insurgents linked to the Mahmuda faction of Boko Haram is a commendable step by the Nigerian Army, and it underscores the importance of sustained military action in volatile regions. However, the fact that this group had established a base within Kainji Lake National Park is deeply concerning, especially considering the park’s proximity to the Kainji Dam, a critical component of Nigeria’s power infrastructure. From a strategic standpoint, more needs to be done to ensure that insurgent elements are not allowed to encroach further toward such vital national assets. Protecting the dam should be a top priority, as any compromise could have severe implications for the national grid and overall energy security. This is not a threat to be taken lightly.

1. Why did they have to be at the funeral in the first place?
2. Who decided to give them so much alcohol knowing fully well they were on duty and there could be repracutions.

Its quite unfortunate that this happened and I hope the individuals involved face the consequences of their actions in the right manner.

I would also suggest that this be a lesson to those of us who feel the need to use all sorts of forces (Army, Navy, Air force, Police, Lastma, KIA, Boys Brigade, Man o War etc, ) to secure their/our occasions and events.

"If you must drink don't drive" remember that saying. So "if they must guard don't drink, especially when armed" !!1. Why did they have to be at the funeral in the first place?

EventsRe: Let's Have A Nairaland Beach Party by aonom(m): 12:37pm On Dec 10, 2010
Let’s just have a RAVE. It doesn't necessarily have to be a beach thing. The whole beach thing is kinda getting boring and besides our beaches are nothing so spectacular, especially when you consider the long drive, bus ride or Cab fare, depends on your mode of transportation. it can be organized if properly arranged or planned. Let’s make Naira Land a serious tool for rebranding 9ja!!! grin

THIS CAN BE DONE!

Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: The Beer Parlour by aonom(m): 11:01am On Feb 12, 2010
There is really no harm in a beer palour. It's just a place for men to on wind and have fun. Do what they probably and shouldn't do at home and in front of the Mrs, say those sort of things that they actually thought about during the course of the day, maybe journey, probably flirt or for the bold hearted have a fling,

What matters is that they go home, well some of them go and share what they took away from the parlour etc stories, events that happened there, std's , loll.

Just goes to show that guys still want to remain guys and use the beer parlour as their medium.  Joints, Clubs and hang outs also apply.

So if u want to keep your man or dog as we are some times refered to, just leave us alone.

Some guys eventually get tired and just stay home eventually, while for some it would take the grace of God to get them to stop.

wink

If you really feel the way you do, then speak to her about it. I think what you actually want to hear is that she will always be there for you. I know most guys don’t like to admit it undecided, but we do some time like to be reassured just as our partners. So don’t fret, because if she is actually meant to be yours then no matter what, you both will be happy together forever.

Good luck to both of you smiley !!

Nairaland GeneralLand Lord And Pure Water by aonom(op): 9:49am On Nov 11, 2009
Good day NL's. I would like to jist you all about a particular situation i have been faced with for almost a year now. I have been residing in a particular residence for close to Eight years, but early this year my landlord decides to start up pure water buisness. Now i was not against the idea, considering the fact that he refused to let out the boys quarters when i had moved in initially. I felt he had loads of stuff he stored in the quarters, as i was not the only tenant without one. I live in a block of six flats with one being occupied by the Landlord.
Now it has been hell for all of us since this buisness started. I had approached him about the noise situation that his little buch of huligans cause from 5.30am till 6pm on a daily basis, except on Sundays. He turned a deaf ear to this, then suddenly the noise increased and now we have all kinds of people coming into the compound and you cannot identify who is a huligan worker or just a point blank holigan. He then gives me a quit notice and says i should relocate to Ikoyi where it is peaceful (LWKMD). Now he back dates the letter by three months, to make it look like he had given me the prior 6 month notice. Now my rent expires on the 31st of December, but the real joker here is that this individual (Land lord) is a lawyer.
