Do you write fiction stories? I need one about 7000 words. How much? |
jos4:how may gigs do yu have running? |
rivoltare:I'm interested. How much? |
zendi:I'm glad now that the racist killing cop has been charge with second-degree murder. He should be made to face the full force of the law. |
Qstorm:No, I'm no disgrace to the black race, neither are you. ![]() Insult is not my thing, so sorry if you feel offended by my last reply. The CIA and Secret Service thing is just a mix up from my end, Honest to God, I never saw any of the links you said you posted. My grasp with Trump was his stubborn refusal to address the protest quickly when it all started. I was especially infuriated because his show of indifference presupposes that a black man's life doesn't matter, even if that wasnt what he meant. I must confessed, I miss that hastily put together late Monday Night address, cause my timeline is way different from yours and my last reply to you was based on my time.. Although the address sounded more like an autimatum, and not a unifying message, it's a welcome development all the same. But why did he have to wait this long? |
budaatum:It's beyond hypocrisy. Its like Trump is under a spell. How can an American president find it convenient to talk about protest and human rights in another man's country during his recent press conference but didn't deem it fit to talk about the one happening in his country under his watch. Its quite unbelievable for a person of Trump. |
budaatum:They have to because Trump's shame of indifference towards the mass protest is mind boggling. I still can't believe it myself. I wonder who is doing this to him. |
garetz:You're still disappointing me though not as before. 1. Now you agreed promising swift justice for the murder of Floyd isn't usurping the judicial process. We both agree on that. 2. Yes, he did call the Floyd's family, but so did previous governments and the problem continues. Calling Floyd's family is not enough. People are use to this routine already and considering that this particular murder was so gruesome, to the extent that it provoke riot in foreign countries, it's always inevitable that people won't take it lightly, hence the protest. This is where he failed big time. He should have addressed the protest in a formal telecast the moment it started not taking to Twitter to rant. Do you realise that this is an election year? I'm very disappointed in Trump. He use to be a strategist. What happened to his strategic mindset this time around. Is it because a black man isn't worth it? This is really unbelievable. 3. Okay, let's assume that he accepted the advice of the secret service to move to a bunker (though the Trump I know make his own decisions, will never run away from a fight or miss a chance to win a crowd over), now that he is back from the bunker, why did he still refuses to address the protest in a formal telecast? Why? Or is this another leftists lie? 4. For Christ sake, every sane person knows that criminal elements are always part of any large protest, especially in America. He used the term 'thug' loosely and by implication, it send the wrong signals because we know the particular race of people generally deemed to fit that description. This is a country thats hugely divided across racial lines, and every single word is interpreted. The fact that Obama used it too and now Trump doesn't make it right for any seating president, especially in an election year. 5. Yes, I lifted a line verbatim from a news source, because it was right on this one. Trump's refusal to address the nation on this one is a show of irresponsibility, and if any media house says it, I support it. I'm not and will never be a brainwashed rightwing or leftwing zombie who can't see truth for themselves. If Washington post says Trump's bunker retreat aggravate his show of indifference to the protest, and you think it's liberal garbage, then Turcker Carson and Fox News that also questioned the president action on this one is garbage and liberal bullshit, according to your logic. My friend, sometimes, you should learn to think independently, its a free gift of God. Stay well. |
Qstorm:What is this one yapping about? You will do well to deliver yourselt from extreme fanaticism and stop glorifying stupidity. Who doesn't know that there is a difference? Your brain didnt informed you that there were two words- Secret Service and CIA mentioned in my earlier response to your fanatic post, neither did your inability to comprehend underlying facts prevented you from knowing that the use of the CIA its just an example of the multilayer agencies that collect, analyze, and dissseminate intelligence information's on matters of national security to the government, which your secret service determined as grave threat and your lord was moved like a toad into an underground bunker. You devolved into tantrum throwing because you're so immature and can't stomach the fact that your lord failed to properly handle a national crisis with thousands of outraged people out in the street protesting the gruesome murder of a black man. You're more concerned with those who called him out for running like a chicken into a bunker instead of addressing the issue, in an election year. I dont blame you. Its your type that make the black race look like a laughing stoke and willing puppet that further the agenda of white supremacists since Trump can't do wrong in your eyes. Since you're so warped up in your blindman narrative, you can't even for conscience sake wonder why Trump still refuses to address the nation after emerging from hiding. Oh, I'm not surprised because plantation nigggas with slave mentality are immuned to conscious reality. Don't mention my moniker again. You're a disgrace to the black race and conscious humanity. |
Abbeybailey:The lootings is wrong, burning the church is wrong. But the point is, much of this could have been averted if the presidency has been all over the place condemning the gruesome act, appealing to the people and speeding up the prosecution process so people's minds can come down a little bit. But sadly, none of this happened. Calling and speaking with the family of the dead is a step in the right direction, but is not enough. It isn't Floyd's family that's protesting in the street now. Address the nation, promise changes, and because human beings are the same everywhere, I tell you, many of the people making up the rioters will step on the gasket and a sizable portion of the riot will stop. Before you know it, the riot will die a natural death. Unfortunately, some blind folks here think Trump don't need to address and plead with the rioters because to them, all of them are Antifas, thugs, and worthy to be shot. That's how you know a crazy fanatic. I can't believe that someone in this thread could open his mouth to say if the president calls for the prosecution of the cops involved, he would be usurping the powers of the court. Can you imagine?. This is one of the threads on Nairaland with the most inhumane and illogical thinkers. I give up on this thread. |
Abbeybailey:I am a Nigerian, a blackman to the core, but above all, one that fears God. I'm for reality, not a fanatic. What is wrong is wrong, and we can do nothing against the truth. Where Trump is right, I will hail him, but where he is wrong, I will indict him as well. I know that after my life here on earth, I will give account of my life to God, and that include what I stood for and what I didn't stand for. It is only someone who have sold his soul to the devil, the father of lies, that would praise Trump on this one. How can a president not publicly address a nation in crisis is beyond me. Even our dull Buhari still manages to address issues of public importance. I'm very disappointed in Trump on this one. Those who are blind to the reality can go on supporting him for this senseless show of irresponsibility. God will judge everyone of us. |
wirinet:Exstcly my point. But unfortunately, it's like you are talking to a brick wall. Extreme fanaticism is sequel to terrorism. Its a pity seeing how fellow brothers could hail trump on this one. |
wirinet:This is how rational people think and reason. You just spoke my mind. I support Trump on many fronts, but on this one, he was dead wrong in every area. |
garetz:Use your brain. Did you watch the video or not? Even a child in the belly knew Floyd was murdered. What? Are you saying if the president calls for the prosecution of the officers involved, it would mean the president is usurping the judicial process? What's wrong with some of you? Since when does calling for prosecution means passing a guilty verdict? Are you serious? Yes, as much as I hated to admit it, Obama (whom I deem a monumental failure as much as blacks are concerned) did address the nation and called for justice for the murder of Garner, even after a grand jury cleared the cops involved of any criminal charges. He made a promise that they will see they get to the bottom of it, and the next few moments saw the Department of Justice conducting a separate investigation of their own, not withstanding the final outcome therefrom. Here is the catch: when you're the president of a country that is highly divided across racial lines, do your best to douse tensions in times of public unrest where the subject matter revolves around race. Trump could have done his part (and even use this opportunity to leverage his re-election drive) by addressing the nation and advocating for justice for the murdered Floyd. Then appeal to the rioters by promising a deep review of policing activities in relation to the public. Mind you, more than 30 million people and their sources of income are already devasted by the coronavirus outbreak and the consequent lockdown effect. What you're seeing on the street now is not just a problem of white supremacists or blacks boiled-over anger for years of systematic racism, nor just ANTIFA or some imagined dark groups hijacking the protest to score political or racial points. Its all part of it, but the real thing here is that people are broke and angry. A hungry man is an angry man, and the last thing you can think of is making remarks that could aggravate the whole situation. Unfortunately, that's what Trump did. He was completely wrong for not addressing the issue in a manner that conveys sensual feelings. He is all for the economy, and laboured strenuously for it, and wants the lockdown doors to open quickly so things can get back to normal, which is good. Then why give the same people a reason to stay more time in the streets? Heck, don't tell me " when the looting starts, the shooting starts" is a good and welcomed statement in this hour, or is it? Don't tell me calling protesters "thugs" (when we all know what that statement suggest and to whom it is implied) in such critical hour is a welcome and well guarded statement? You're better than this man. That I like Trump for certain reasons don't mean I should support his failures as well. On the bunker issue, I repeat it was needless to have run into a bunker. Jesus. This isn't even a code-red situation that warrant he been moved into a bunker. The entire situation is too dramatic to imagine. I'm beginning to think that either someone in his inner circle is trying to sabotage trump reelection or he is just been plain stupid. That bunker retreat crystalyzes Trump's AWOL response to George Floyd's death and subsequent riot that's still ongoing. It's unimaginable that up till now, the president who wants economic activities to bounce back in full swing is yet to address the nation and it's streets crowded with rioters in a formal telecast, even if its from his underground bunker. And here you are supporting this wreckless failure. Alright, may be a black man gruesome murder isn't worth it, Hong Kong and China are more important to talk about. BIG SHAME on Trump on this one. |
Qstorm:What a babel! Secret Service my foot. Is the CIA the head of the president or the president head of the security? Who is ruling who? Heck, this is not even a crisis with a code red alert, and you're here creating imagined threats from Satan's scrotum! You saying the president has no choice about his security is a very stupid and puerile excuse to make. I can't believe sensible people will go this length to defend stupidity and shameless show of irresponsibility. You think if one diabolic organization wants Trump dead, the perfect timing would be during a public riot when the security apparatus of the state is 1100% on alert and fully activated? You blind fanatics are the naive ones here, my friend. Making up silly excuses for failures of the president during such a critical time is to me lame and mypoic. Which president hops like a frog into an underground bunker during protests in a section of his country, not to mention when such protests doesn't even have anything to do with the president style of rulership or policies? There was similar widespread and violent protest during Obama time for similar issue of police brutality, how many bunker did he run into? Other presidents in America has seen far worse cases and even threat to their personal lives, which one of them runs into a bunker? Not quite long, we saw the huge and devastating protests that shut down much of France, which bunker did Macron ran into? Which of them prefer to make provocative statements, or prefer to talk more about human rights in another man country while his own is on fire? Trump had all the time to host a press conference in front of the white house where he finds it convenient and shameless to talk about China and Hong Kong's autonomy vis-à-vis human right in Hong Kong, when his own crazy police state are killing both black, white, green and yellow, without provocation. He didn't deem it worthy to talk about the gruesome murder and the ongoing riot in his recent press conference, and you're here supporting him for running into a bunker like the Russians are coming with Topol M and Satan 2? Men, you should be ashamed for the president on this one. He got it all wrong this time. Stop being a blind fanatic. No level of threat to the president could have deter him from making a national telecast addressing the riot, calling for the quick prosecution of the racists cops involved, proposed reformed to pplice use of extremem force, and plead with the people to go back home. That's what a responsible president does, not feigning ignorance to what's happening and running into an underground bunker like the protesters have breached the White house. It's only an idiot that would hail Trump's handling of this one. |
Abbeybailey:Surprised? By now you should have known what I stand for. I'm for reality, not a fanatic. |
Qstorm:Friend, let's not support irresponsibility. It wasn't as if he was going to be assassinated, so your excuse lacks merit. Trump would have done better to address the nation on the riots, promise and encourage swift justice for the gruesome murder, propose reforms in policing and could have even go as far as forming a shirt or a cap with the inscription "justice for Floyd", or so. But prefering rather to talk about China and Hong Kong and running like a crocroach into an underground bunker conveys irresponsibility and insensitivity to the plights of minority Americans. He had this one all wrong. |
Obrigardo:In as much as I have supported Trump on many occasions, he got this one completely wrong. That statement he made saying "when the looting starts, the shooting starts" is not just only reckless but senseless and smirks of stupidity at the highest levels. He running like a frightened lunatic into a bunker is one of the most irresponsible thing for a president to do in this trying times. The violence we are seeing now is a reflection and manifestation of years of racial abuse and oppression suffered by black americans. Even many whites did joined up in the protest and violence because it has become so glaring that the US justice system is laden with systematic racism. Common sense presupposes that the president should be out calling for the heads of the murderous police officers involved, propose reforms in policing and criminalize police brutality through formal legislation. That's how you win over people. But what have we...the president of the supposed most powerful nation on earth makes unguarded statements, talks about labeling ANTIFA as a terrorist group, more concerned about what's happening in Hong Kong than an angry section of his people in his country, and when the protest gets hotter, the guy ran like a fat pig into an underground bunker....ALL THESE FAILURES AND CHARADE IN AN ELECTION TIMELINE. I'm completely disappointed in Trump. His behavior in this incident is not different from one of the senseless and insensitive leaders we have in some African countries. Very pathetic behavior. |
Maduawuchukwu:Your opinion spread across is straight on point. The person you're talking to doesn't realised that Nigerians are the most educated ethnic group in the U.S. with many of them spread across different industries doing legit and high-paying jobs. |
AkataWoman:You're not an American, so I won't bother to take most of your rants serious. Nonetheless, I will answer thy shallow reasoning with logical reasoning. We are so much 'blessed' with crazy and visionless leaders who careless about the populace, hence the lack of quality infrastructures that would have move this country far beyond where it is today. I speak the fact, i'm not like you who chose to live in delusion, entangling yourself in mental slavery and entitlement mentality. Now, you that have all the infrastructure and government support at your disposal, what have your lots whom you claim to be done for themselves? AAs trails all other races in all aspects of economic, political and social well being in the United States, and it keep getting worse because of folks like you who reason and thrive in delusio, refusing to tell themselves the truth. You even have the temerity to talk about some few bad Nigerians arrested for fraud? Imao! The pot calling the kettle black. The numbers of AAs in prison and jail houses, with many doing life and on death roll is incomparable to any other race in the world. You should be ashamed for even daring to raise this point. My friend, you will do better to see reality for thyself. You sound so bitter that you can't swallow let alone stomach the truth AAs are a major part of the problem plaguing the black community. But if you can't see that, don't bother discussing this further, because its futile trying to fix stupid. |
AkataWoman:Come to your country...you're reasoning like a kid--a typical self deluded African with pigmified view of reality. What gives you the impression that anyone that speak in certain terms against your warped belief is an American wannabe? That's how some stupid folks who left the motherland to the state feels. And from every indication, you're not a black American, you just gave out yourself. The typical black American don't reason that way, nor think he is superior to blacks from Africa. You're one of those immigrants not a bona fide AA native. Sorry for wasting my time on you. |
KBdownloads:that is exactly why they are the ones that build the nation. |
KBdownloads:If they were not there to do the hardwork, would there have been America? |
AkataWoman:Learn how to read inbetween lines before you comment. I was telling the guy that black suffered more police brutality than any other race in the US. |
AkataWoman:Jealous? You must be joking. Stop making silly excuses for AAs. Nobody support nor canvass the course of AAs more than I do on Nairaland, but just because I'm black doesn't mean I should close my eyes to reality. The current generation of blacks are their own worst enemy on multiple front. Take it or leave it. Yes, you guys have suffered for many years, bled, killed, and desecrated upon. But gone are the days of physical slavery. Today's America, though still divided across racial lines, is far more better than the Jim Crow era. Now, AAs can vote, do business of thier choice, now have every opportunity to go to schools, make wealth and create more wealth for generations to come. Even with affirmative order, prestigious colleges are within their reach. But, what do we have today, many black male don't go to school, and even some that manage to go drop out half way. It is sad but they are the least educated of all the races in America. Facts don't lie. Without education, how can you sustain the immediate wealth you've struggled to build on the long run when the next generation kicks in? This is the major reason they don't do so well in businesses like other races do. Don't cherry-pick Jay-z and a few others, on aggregate terms, AAs are the least most uneducated of all the races in America. They have all the infrastructures and opportunity at their disposal, if they have fully harnessed it, like coming out to vote during elections, most of all these nonsense that's happening now would have drastically reduced. Imagined despite just making up about 13% of the US population, AAs make up the most incarcerated race in american prisons and jail houses, no thanks to the highly racist justice system, in part, but also for being less educated thereby becoming more prone to crime, including the ones they never committed. But whom should we really blame? If African Americans have harnessed even 70% of the opportunies they have, maybe folks like George Floyd would still have been alive today, with the racist cops knowing that if they try anything stupid, highly educated blacks in all areas of the political and social order are waiting to take them to the cleaners. But is that what we have today? No one is taking your lot serious because you refuse to add value to yourself. Apart from the institutionalized racism, Slave mentality and entitlement mentality is one of the major problems with black people. When you continue to reflect on the past, unwilling to acknowledge where you are now, and not been able to map out the future, the only enemy you will see is the whiteman, whereas, you're part of the equation as well. Here is the catch: if the average Nigerian has all the resources and opportunities your lot has, they would be building houses in the sky. Creativity without sustainability is like anointing without success, which is annoyance. As for Nigeria as a country, we have been a cousin of darkness since Genesis Chapter One, and will remain so, not until we decide to grab the idiotic leaders that we have by the balls, calstrate them and eliminate them can we have constant power supply in this country. But, even without all such vital resources, we still thrive and excel on multiple fronts. |
STILESGANG:Really? The so-called AAs you are talking about are trailing all other races and ethnic groups in America in almost every area of life. Even the Almighty U.S of A still have more than 40 million people living in poverty line and relying on food stamps to survive. Friend, poverty is rife in Africa, but not limited to Africa. |
Gmajor:Yes, but how many whites are Hispanics are subjected to the kind of inhuman treatment Black are made to go through? Its not even close in comparison. |
STILESGANG:The richest group of Blacks in the world by value of money, not by real wealth. Think. |
flyingpig:These are facts on a truckload of reality. ![]() $10,000 equal to 4 million? My bad, then its better than I thought earlier. Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. There are lands sold even for far lesser prices in Lagos. https:///lagos/land-and-plots-for-sale I'm into estate management/agency. Even in Victoria Island/lekki where a plot of land can go up to 50 million, depending on the size, you can still get a 50×100 for less than 5 million, and lesser than 1 million naira in places like Ikorodu and more. You can see for yourself in the link above. Seriously? I should be the one questioning your knowledge cos I live in Nigeria, Warri, to be precise. So, the fact remains, you're still very wrong in your money comparison. Secondly, several job openings mean Americans can earn from multiple streams, in Nigeria there are not even enough jobs to go round. People who run two jobs starved to save their income used to establish the second business.Seriously? Who does it better than Nigerians when it comes to multiple streams of income? Don't make me laugh. Nobody cares about job openings here anymore cause, like you rightly said, the ones available ain't enough to go round. And this is what actually defined the average Nigerian. Many Nigerians are doing well today because out of nothing they create something for themselves. Apart from the northern part of the country that has a culture of begging (amajiris) go to the south and see how people are creating wealth against the odds with no government support. The average Nigerian youth today is far more productive than what BBC and CNN wants you to think. I live here Mr. How many AAs businesses have access to business credit? Credit companies prefer to loan credit to white own businesses in America than to black own businesses, and one of the reasons for that is poor or no credit ratings. Why wouldn't that be when you live in a country that is highly divided across racial lines, where things and opportunities look to be equal on the surface but highly segregated in implementation. How many black Americans own their own homes? Here in Nigeria, even the ordinary garri trader that moves garri from Isoko to Bayelsa are building houses here and there. Nobody relies on government or mortgage companies here to own homes, succeed and create wealth. That's the stark difference between the Average Nigerian millionaire and the AAs in America. Just go over to Fiverr and Upwork and check the statistics there. You will discover that, Pakistanis are the only ones that compete with Nigerians in terms of multiple stream of income. There are thousands of Nigerians earning $1000 or more in two to three weeks on such platforms, but your BBC didn't tell you that. Second, your claims that Nigerian millionaires are doing better in Nigeria, against their colleagues in same bracket in the USA may not be right. My friend, I live here and you can't school me on what I'm experiencing first hand. The recent uprise in the prices of goods is mainly due to the lockdown and the downward trend of the naira is due mainly to the death of the international crude oil price. Its affecting other oil producing countries too. But here is the beauty of the whole thing, people are still creating wealth and it doesnt negate the fact that the numbers of Nigerians building homes is on the rise and higher than ever. In fact, the recent devaluation of the naira against the dollar has very little weight considering that the government sharply reduced the domestic prices for petrol, which also have a multiplier effect on the entire economy and purchasing prowess of the naira. Yes, I still maintain that Nigerian millionaires are doing better than their AAs counterparts whom you classified to be in the lower class. This is because, with their little millions, they build houses, expand businesses and create more wealth for themselves. How many black Americans have houses of their own? You are even more wrong and ill inform to think that the numbers of Nigerian millionaires with 20 millions are the few in churches, military, FIRS, etc. That just get to show that you don't know how wealth is created here. You don't expect the woman that transport garri and fish and pure water from Ughelli to Bayelsa to tell u she has millions in her account. BBC didn't tell you that more than 90% of the people building and owning their own houses in Nigeria are not working in any government ministries or agency, not in the armed forces and not in any oil company or leaders of any church, but are people who are engaged in one business or the other. Besides, your definition of a millionaire is stereotypical and restricted to the American way. Here in Nigeria, a millionaire is the mama-put woman or the petty trader who created wealth for herself, send her children to school, buy land and build a home for themselves. How many AAs have that? |
jacksonkennedy:Men, you just hit the nail on the head. That was the point I was trying to show him also. The exchange value of your money doesn't make you rich, it is what it can buy you where you live that makes you rich. That is why there are many and will always be many well-off Nigerians in terms of business and personal success compared to their brothers in AA. Just imagine, in spite of the senseless government and bad leadership this nation has been exposed to for many decades, the average Nigerian still does comparatively well in business and personal success. Even with no constant electricity, bad roads, and overall poor infrastructure, people still hustle and make it in business. What would happen if we have electricity constant and good roads takes over? In the next decade, nobody will recognize this country again because, Nigerians are workaholics when it comes to personal development and business management. The numbers of people owning their own buildings in Nigeria is in all time high. If we can have constant power supply, many things will take shape in this country. |
flyingpig:Millionaires in Nigeria are equivalent to lower middle class in America? Man, this is a fallacy. You said a lot of sensible things earlier, bit this one isnt correct at all. The comparable value of your money isn't what make upu rich, Rather, its the Purchasing power of your money that actually make you rich. An AA can have $10,000, which is about 1.2 million in Naira, but still may not be able to buy a plot of land in New York City. Whereas, a Nigerian with 1.2 million can buy a plot of land in an Economic hub center like Lagos. What makes the difference isn't the exchange value between the two currencies, but the purchasing power parity (PPP). That is why there are less poor people in China compared to America, despite the latter being the world's number one economy in terms of GDP. So, your assertion that Nigerians millionaires are equivalent to lower class Americans is way over the hills. Nigerian millioniares are doing better in Nigeria compared to the people you classified them with in America. |
TripleOh7:You just spoke my mind. You're very informed. |
