Christianity EtcRe: Have You Praised Him Yet, Today? by ARareGem(f): 12:30am On Feb 17, 2013
The One that watches me day and night. You never slumber.
The One who hides me under His wings. The Mighty Man in battle.
The One in whom I have my being. The uncreated Creator.
The all-knowing, all-wise, almighty, ever-loving, faithful, merciful, redeeming God.
The aribiti, arabata. Ese, Baba. I'm grateful for life. I'm grateful for good health. I'm grateful for your revelations. I'm grateful.

That's nice. Wish him the best...

It's funny how people only hammer on the latest, bad happenings in Christianity and never trumpet on the commendable things. Oh, humans!

It is not as if we are not aware the dead person is going to a better place (i.e. if the person gave his life to Christ before dying). But we mourn loosing the physical presence of the loved one, we mourn the friendship that is lost, we mourn the lost support- support in all its ramifications-from the person that is gone. There's a void left open when a loved one dies. Also, we mourn the judgement that awaits them if they had not accepted Jesus before dying.

It has to do with the emotions.

Hmmm... I see tempers are flaring, especially from the Christian folks. I would recommend ya'll take some time off Nairaland, or at least, the Religion section, to clear your heads before you take actions in anger which you might regret later.

Remember to pray for the atheists, but know that God will not force a man to accept/believe in Him. In the end, it all depends on the choices they make.

Lollest and so on point! grin

At topic, I don't see why atheists need a separate section when all you guys ever discuss about is linked to RELIGION or in your words, anti-religion. I mean, you all desperately try to proove atheism which is inextricably linked to theism. Don't you think it would be 'logical' to be in the same section with theists so you can 'proove' your point?
Christianity EtcRe: The Christian Chatbox ( sticky) by ARareGem(f): 8:34pm On Feb 10, 2013
Fever. sad

BTW, why do people quote 3rd John vs 2 as if God is the one saying it personally to us, when actually, it was John who said it in his letter addressed to Gaius?

Christianity EtcRe: The Christian Chatbox ( sticky) by ARareGem(f): 4:17am On Feb 05, 2013
superbloke: If you are entering marriage as a christian, it must b done in the presence of God and there should be present a higher spiritual authority (an ordained pastor). Marriage in a magistrate court is legally binding, but not spiritually. It doesn't have to be in a church, but the presence of an ordained spiritual authority is required. If this takes place even during the court wedding, then it's ok.
^^Makes sense.

Imagining how it would be like on my day. . . .
Christianity EtcRe: How Many Of Us Still Make Our Night Prayers Before Bed? by ARareGem(f): 6:04am On Feb 04, 2013
Logicboy03: Nonsense. You people claim that god is in our mind and is that little voice we hear. That is already communication

Prayer becomes excessive when you note the above
Is there such a thing as excessive communication?? Communication is a two-way thing. As the Spirit speaks to you (perhaps through the 'little voice' you hear), you also repond and vice versa.

Where did all that come from? You obviously have no experience on this issue, so it's best you don't comment.

This thread is not in the politics' section, it was opened so meaningful advice could be given concerning the issue. And BTW, how old do you even think I am?

That woman is 'ridiculously wicked', as you put it! My goodness!

People, share your experiences and give your advice as to how to live peaceably with stepmothers...

I'd like to see things from the other side of the coin. If you're a stepmother, how did you make it work with your step-children?
FamilyRe: Living With Your Stepmother by ARareGem(op): 11:53am On Feb 01, 2013
@ slimyem, lol at telling you which meat to pick. I have the same issues with her. I mean, the woman hoards everything. It ticks me off. Our home was such a free one. Now there are restrictions everywhere and for every little thing. You must ask before using.

Sometimes, I feel like a stranger in my own home. It's sad.

As for communication, I don't think the woman has heard such a word. It's either her way or the highway. And I sure have been using the highway. grin

But the problem is we are not getting anywhere, and the woman isn't even trying! Funny enough, I sort of picked the woman for my dad.
FamilyRe: Living With Your Stepmother by ARareGem(op): 11:38am On Feb 01, 2013
Chaircover, we have plenty in common. grin In my case, I wasn't only defending my mum's honour, I was/still am protecting my younger sister like the way a lioness watches after her cubs. And like your dad, mine loves my sister and I dearly. He takes care to protect us from every and anyone. I took advantage of that and almost let things get out of hand by being pretty stubborn and over protective of my sister to the point of turning a left eye to the wrongs she did. Well, I'm more objective now, I try not to get involved when my stepmum disciplines her. smiley
FamilyRe: Living With Your Stepmother by ARareGem(op): 11:04am On Feb 01, 2013
DaDewdropsNVS: Most of ya are the same age as your step-moms. . .So what exactly is the problem? cheesy
We aren't all as old as our stepmums. In fact, I have not met people in that category. And trust me, there can be problems....
FamilyLiving With Your Stepmother by ARareGem(op): 11:58pm On Jan 31, 2013
Yes, stepmothers. Please, share how you've been able to cope with her all these years? What was it like having a new woman in the house (especially when you're the eldest daugther and had been the 'wife figure' for some time)? How do you cope with her taking charge and changing practically everything in the house? What steps do you take in making sure you all live happily in the house?

And if you're sort of resistant to change, like myself, what has been your experience with your stepmother-good or bad?
