Are you sure a paypal account got verified after linking and verifying a card only without bank account? I think it takes a US bank account linking to verify. May be it's possible for non-US paypal account though, I am not sure. But just yesterday I still added and linked a card to paypal but it was still not verified until I added a US bank account today.

When you walk in to any bank to deposit over the counter, you usually pick a teller to fill and you also meet a teller to attend to you at the desk. The teller number is more or less the folio number printed on the particular deposit slip you completed for use. Additionally, when you are attended to at the payment till of any business concern when making your payment for items, the attendant who attends to you is usually shown on the payment teller receipt showing the attendant's name and/or his/her teller number.

Yes you need references as part of KYC process.

royalicon: I had a good experience with GT Bank on this topic. For over 3 yrs we are together. With their internet banking platform, you can Transfer foreign currency from your account to other bank oversee, transfer naira to other bank within Nigeria, sell your foreign currency from your Dom account and get the naira equivalent in your current account instantly.
The charges for foreign currency transfer i experience is as follows: 1% or $10 of the amount you are sending (which ever is higher), 4,000ngr telex charges, 5% VAT on the charges. I ran away from UBA because of higher charges the. Though I didnt try other bank since am comfortable with GT bank.

Yeah! You can even get dollar out of your GTB Naira too without visiting bank but in terms of charges, they charge too high. I wouldn't know how worse is UBA but I won't be surprised because UBA even charges my savings account. Union dom transfer is cheaper than GTB but I am currently in love with Access dom transfer. In fact, I have transfer just $50 by GTB before and the following charge was about $50 equivalent but my transfer of $2530 to the States by Access this morning was charged total of $33.28 (though I elected beneficiary to pay the offshore charge of usual $20 - $25).

Yes, it is not only possible, i have done that several times. I did not open the account in Nigeria anyway but luckily it works with one of my Nigerian cards.

It's good that GVO accepts Paypal then. But as for Payoneer, from what you have said, it means the problem is not using payoneer or GTB card but you said your IP address. Since your GTB card is Nigerian, it means you were accessing the site from a foreign internet connection or proxy. So, I think you may need to try using the GTB card again on the GVO site using your normal Nigerian IP connection without foreign IP proxy. If it does not work, it then means you will need either using foreign card like Payoneer on the foreign IP connection to make the payment or you use Paypal option still on foreign IP connection to the GVO website.

The first problem creates the second one: volatility. When people have reason to liquidate their bitcoin holdings, they're hardly in a position to negotiate a great price for it. Still on value, bitcoin is just a code on your computer. There's no backing by any real establishment, you can't compare it to buying online game credits; so don't expect any form of insurance when the bubble bursts.

The future of bitcoin is anonymous transactions, but who would accept such a payment when the value could be 1m at sundown and 1k by daybreak.

Eventually the winklevoss brothers and other major holders would want to cash out for real money and that would send the scheme crashing.

I haven't included the risks of cyber incidents, just pure economic fundamentals. However the technical aspects are hard to predict given the infinite nature of human greed and stupidity.

Bitcoin is still the costliest ecurrency I know for now. I have not seen it more volatile than any other currency or ecurrency that we are used to. As per liquidating it, it is simply done just like any other ecurrencies. Contact exchangers and sell your bitcoin to accept other ecurrencies just like you would do for LR, PM, Webmoney, Technocash, OKPay, UKash, STP, etc, with option to receive bank wire transfer or WU/MG depending on the ecurrency exchanger.

Bitcoin is just another ecurrency like defunct e-gold, Liberty Reserve (LR), perfect money (PM), paypal, alertpay, stp, Ukash, OKpay, webmoney, etc. But seems to have US backing as they showcased its comeback on Bloomberg television of recent.

As at 3 or 4 years ago when I joined, there was no US bank requirements and so I wouldn't know if it is now required.

Mining then involved allowing your computer connection to be online while the software of bitcoin would calculate the pool of bitcoin in circulation worldwide among registered users of bitcoin. The professor owner in the US school explained that to be analogous to when Google bot is crawling the web to index websites for search engines. So the bitcoin founders called it bitcoin mining and there was compensation in very small amounts for allowing your system to be online when the bitcoin software is pooling, depending on how long you stay online for the mining process.
