I saw it coming. I thought am only one seeing it. Let God intervene. The sin of denying people to vote their choice whether through subtlety or militarism is a cardinal sin. Innocent souls were wasted just becos we are on election........I believe strongly that a strong way of showcasing integrity is to allow people vote their choice. election is not do or die affair.
ojikeebere12: Ejike Mbaka, spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), says Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peter Obi, his running mate, might “end in shame” with the way they are going.
The Catholic priest said this after Obi failed to make donations at the ministry’s 2018 harvest and bazaar celebration.
Obi attended the programme which held during the weekend alongside other politicians from the south-east.
Standing by his side, Mbaka asked him to “stay in front of this children of God and tell God what you will do for Him … or what that means is, you don’t want to do anything for God. This is common deceit.”
Obi replied: “Father, what I said is straightforward. You will come and show me the project so that the two of us will talk. That is what I said.”
Mbaka then accused the former governor of Anambra of making “political statement” to which he responded: “Father knows I don’t make political statements. Anyone here from Anambra state knows Peter Obi has never promised anything and failed. I am a fundamental Catholic. I do whatever I say at the church.”
The priest said in response: “In your capacity and what God has done for you as governor … God hates stinginess. What I am saying is not to please you, but what will save your life. Otherwise you and Atiku will fail.
“If there is a place they will coat words for you, it is not at Mbaka’s altar. You can save your political destiny. Or in 2019, you people will not even know how they did the election. What will make my brother to come for bazaar and he won’t even break kola?”
Mbaka went on to tell Obi how governors of Ebonyi and Enugu made donations without announcing at the altar and urged him to do same.
“Your own is taking time,” he said, adding: “The way you and Atiku are moving will end in shame”.
“Let us continue our bazaar. You know since he is not supporting us, the ministry has been moving. If people start arguing like this, their downfall begins,” he said.
The priest also said he would make prediction regarding the 2019 presidential election come December 31.
GistkitNG: President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday thanked God and Nigerians for the victory in the 2019 presidential election that was conducted on February 23.
He said this in his acceptance speech on Wednesday morning at his presidential campaign headquarters in Abuja shortly after the INEC chairman declared him as the winner.
The President also stated that his administration would continue to fight corruption, insecurity and improve on the economy.
“The new administration will intensify its efforts in security, restructuring the economy and fighting corruption. We have laid down the foundation and we are committed to seeing matters to the end. We will strive to strengthen our unity and inclusiveness so that no section or group will feel left behind or left out,” he told jubilant supporters.
His speech read in detail, “First and foremost, I give thanks to Almighty God Who has spared our lives to witness another victory for Nigerian democracy and victory for our party, the APC.
“I thank the millions of Nigerians who voted to re-elect me as your president for the next four years. I am deeply humbled and profoundly grateful to you for judging me worthy of continuing to serve you and for your peaceful conduct.
“In particular, I would like to thank Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for his masterful leadership as Co-chair of the Campaign Council. I would like to also thank the party chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, the Director General of the Campaign Council Rotimi Amaechi, all members of the Presidential Campaign Council and other various support groups.
“My thanks to all those who contributed to the logistical expenses of the campaign in such a vast country like Nigeria.
“I also thank the millions of volunteers, self-appointed overseers, canvassers, agents, escorts and sentries who sacrificed so much of their time and resources to ensure the success of these elections. I do not have the words adequate to thank them.
“Although Saturday’s elections were relatively peaceful, troublemakers in a handful of states attempted to disrupt an otherwise orderly process. Security agencies will bring to justice all those arrested in the process.
“I am very sad at the grievous loss of lives during these elections. Security agencies will step up their efforts to protect voters in the forthcoming state elections.
“I would like to commend our security agencies, as severely overstretched as they are, for handling the difficult task of securing the country during the election period.
“I will like to make a special appeal to my supporters not to gloat or humiliate the opposition. Victory is enough reward for your efforts.
“We give thanks also to our domestic and international observers for contributing to the success of our elections and for their interest in our country and our developing democracy.
“The new administration will intensify its efforts in security, restructuring the economy and fighting corruption. We have laid down the foundation and we are committed to seeing matters to the end. We will strive to strengthen our unity and inclusiveness so that no section or group will feel left behind or left out.”
kikio1992: Veteran Nollywood actress, Joke Silva has congratulated President Buhari and leaders of the ruling party, APC, after winning the 2019 presidential election.
Sharing photos of President Buhari, VP Osinbajo, national chairman of APC Adams Oshiomole, and APC national leader Bola Tinubu, she wrote:
'Congratulations. Well done. League of Extraordinary gentlemen. Now hit the ground running. Consolidate. 4years is a short time. Power needs to be sorted, without it we are going nowhere fast. Apapa port. soo much. God be with you, guide you, give you wisdom'.
kingemzy5: story everyone is moving to the next level you're still here writing epistle for atiku and IPOBS baba leave story igbos aren't ready for politics if they are ready they will talk
I hope you surveyed the next level very well, because the last time I checked the North is yet to change economically.
ahiboilandgas: am yet to hear any baby factory owned by a northerner,or any north people caught in Asia for concains or any hausa yahoo boy....
it is left for thunder to know what do next. you quoted cocaine and skipped tramadol. the immaculate northerner. you can't get the liver to carry drug abroad hence you are consigned to kano mafia tramadol and cow shit. innocent northerner.
Those castigating the Igbo Nation for 'putting their eggs in one basket' should respect individual and regional choices in democracy. Elsewhere asked, whether the core North put theirs in Fifty basket? Buhari never represents a leader whom Igbos will vote for any time, any day. He is not vibrant, incoherent in speech and policy expression. Igbo is a great Nation that is intrinsically, traditionally and practically allergic to poverty, hence their clear-cut enterprising and innovative attributes. The level of hypocrisy rife with this government never helped matters. This time around some Yoruba states shared the same view in their voting pattern. The big questions still remains; how will Nigeria pull her millions of youths out of poverty line just like India and China did in recent years? Igbos voted any option that is not Buhari, who never represent prosperity and innovation. For any one to understand me very well, NBC's poverty indices and unemployment rate on individual States in Nigeria after another four years of this administration will surely lay credence to the Igbo's voting pattern.
Biodun556: South Easth should learn not to always put all thier eggs in one basket.
They should do away with tribalism.
Saraki took their slot when there was no APC senator from East in 2015. Is the samething repeating itself?
No biafra, No president in 2023 and No senate president. Oma se o!!!
Because they all sleep and face the same direction due to tribalism and religious bigotry.
APC should never and can never present an igbo man for president in 2023 just because the party could not win any South East state since 2015 which is an indication of deep hatred they have for the party.
yet to tell us what Yoruba will learn. Igbo this ,Igbo that. Igbos voted a person of like mind in business realm. You think igbos are comfortable being under a President who cannot present common speech to his citizens. Who fights corruption with same corrupt people. How many baskets did the core North put their own Eggs? are the two major candidate not from the North?
Very soon inflated voting within the 'war zone' regions will be made bare. let God take control. I can't imagine that scanty pulling units in the North east would produce millions of votes as against congested ones in the FCT. unimaginable. posterity has the answer.
UAE123: INEC are not counting prayer points but they are only counting the votes of those that voted on Saturday. A lot of people complaining today did not vote last Saturday but they want miracle to happen. If Buhari is announced the winner today he clearly deserves it.
He deserves an election that was marred with irregularities. police and military men involved in massive rigging? Only God will judge since I don't I take the law into my hands
After frequent supplications to God to give us another leader that will bring forth relief and blissful societal lives among Nigerians, a leader who undertands the dynamics of massive job creation, a leader who will foster a more unifying Nigeria, unfortunately, we still end with this 'lifeless' lad. O Almighty God why did you want to chasetise us for another four years. Years of herdsmen attacks, 'technical defeat', pangs of hunger and tribulation, lopsided appointments etc Look at the states that voted this man massively, they are the states that have traditionally; populace who are apparently not allergic to poverty and illiteracy. With all the level of human capacity we have in this country, this is what we are able to produce again as a leader. The lopsided distributions of voting strength over the years is calling for serious questions. I think we must not bequeath this federal arrangement to our next generation. The issue of restructuring, confederation or even annexation should come to mind. O God, another years of chastisement? I have faith in you that can still upturn this collation process to the one we voted to bring hope & unity. Amen
The series of attacks in some presumed strongholds of the opposition in Lagos State put the touted popularity of the ruling party in serious question. It is mind boggling and disappointing. After cerebrating the ' extra-judicial presidential order against electoral thuggery by APC, I thought that the security personnel would be up and doing with a view to engendering free election, but everything look so dismal. I advise INEC to cancel & revisit those places in question around locations like Aguda, Isolo, okota etc.... where ballot where either burnt or scattered by APC presumed 'Boys'. Voters affected should not be discouraged, God will surely make their votes count.
It is very glaring that the loudest voices clamouring for ' restructuring' in Nigeria over the decades have provenance with the south Westerners. Before now , there is no gainsaying fact that the PDP presidential candidate Abubakar Atiku had demonstrated his resolve on many occasions, even when he was with the ruling party; APC, over his foray to restructuring Nigeria. Against this backdrop, I wish to call on the Yoruba race of this great nation, who for many years now had been on the fore front of restructuring Nigeria project campaign to objectively prove their quest by giving Atiku/Obi candidacy the benefit of doubt. Restructuring Nigeria needs a political revolution, as such, can be driven by a strong political ideology and will. The truth remains that Nigeria has tasted APC and her Manifestos (inundated with her unfulfilled restructuring theories), today,we have all seen their stand. I beckon on pro- restructuring ambassadors to identify with the candidacy that has the clear- cut agenda on this noble project. Having listened to the aforementioned candidate on many fora, I strongly believe that he should be given a chance to restructure Nigeria.
