jimyjames: They hate anything igbo but they answer igbo names and speak igbo? Who is fooling who? Are you aware the igbos in Delta for many many yrs are asking for a state of their own called anioma state, and asaba as their capital? Cause the majority tribes in Delta don't like them and are not happy with the federal government for making asaba an igboland the capital of Delta they want the capital to be moved to warri outside igboland Swiss Germans still have a lot in common with other Germans in culture, beer, name etc but they prefer to refer to themselves as Swiss, during the 1st unification of Germany after the Franco-Prussian war and during WW2, Germany wanted the Swiss Germans to be incorporated into Germany but they refused. |

@OP, we have ethnic Germans in Germany, Switzerland, Russia, Poland, Czech republic, Belgium etc and they refer to themselves as Swiss, Russians, Poles, Czechs, Belgians etc. Only those in Germany go as Germans so what's your point?
Mind you, these people bear same German names, speak dialects of German, same culture etc.
Mandarin Chinese in other Asian countries should tell you what?
The English people in America, Australia, Canada, South Africa etc should say what? |

You dont want to have sense Tell the transgressing and leeching countries to obey the existing ECOWAS protocols and things would go back to normal since those leeching ECOWAS countries had decided to make it so, what is the Nigerian government supposed to do, allow it continue? joeyfire: Isaac Boro carried out his insurrection in February and was charged to court in June. A whole four months. Dont lie pls.
Why compare Boro's ragtag militia which you have said didn't kill anybody to Operation Damisa, a military coup which brought down an entire government with a number of high profile deaths. Use your head. Besides you alleged military tradition was not followed...Boro was tried by the High Court. Nzegwu and his comrades carried out their coup in January and what was holding their trial or were they tried secretly? |

phineas: Watch and learn all of you
I predict Nigeria rightfully pulling out of the ECOWAS free trade agreement for breech of contract. This 3 months will be a proof of concept
See those terms have always been in the ecowas charter to keep foreign goods transiting through other countries legally to a minimum
Imagine Benin appointing a customs official to escort all imported goods that pass through their sea port for Nigeria(cars, rice, oil, toothpick, matches, second hand clothes, shoes, bags, and the list goes on)
Benin and togo as a country became official smugglers when they:
1.Reduced cost of shipping and importation through their borders knowing fully well the goods were destined for Nigeria.PS Benin imports more rice than Nigeria through her sea ports
2.Reduced security scrutiny of imported goods not destined for their countries
3.Reduced sanctions and taxes on imported goods through their sea borders
4.Allowed foreign goods to be repackaged in their country
By so doing they have broken every honour in the ECOWAS agreement intended for the spirit of brotherhood
They have opened our country to security challenges
They have sabotaged our local industries and our trade and investment sector
If they cannot meet the terms in the next 3 months including destruction of all warehouses along the border route .Nigeria has every right to pull out of the agreement claiming sabotage.Watch and learn you all.
Lastly Next step. Nigeria should use this opportunity to address companies setting up in Ghana and selling a large proportion of their goods to the Nigerian market.
Renegotiate everything to make it unconducive for them.Nigerias market is her leverage. We must use it to favour us in growth and development putting Nigeria first
PS -Even Moroco was trying to join ECOWAS You spoke well and you spoke the undiluted truth, those companies that relocated to Ghana would start coming back because Nigeria has always been their primary market and you know, no market no production so they'll come back. You'd be surprised that kasapreko makers of alomo bitters may be planning to establish in Nigeria, they've reportedly lost over $2million since the closure. Morocco tried joining because it was eyeing the Nigerian market so that they can come and dump all stuff just like those leeching ECOWAS members are doing and Buhari refused their membership. The Nigerian customs has said that the January 31st date is false and the border closure continues, it said it only extended the current phase of operation |

ThePreachersSon: Why sign the continental free trade agreement if you were not going to allow from all African countries.
And someone better remind Mr. President that closing the borders, is against the ECOWAS charter. If ECOWAS wasn't a dummy organization headed my dumb Nigerians, Nigeria would be swimming in sanctions by now.
It may look like Nigeria would not lose anything if it keeps it's borders shut, but don't underestimate those 'small countries'. Just as if the EU can sanction the US, the rest of the leeching ECOWAS members are not up to 50% of Nigeria in economic strength and population. Those leeching countries know that they've been breaching the ECOWAS protocol we all agreed to and that's why they can't sanction or sue Nigeria because they know they won't win. Advice those leeching countries to start obeying what they signed to and Nigeria would of course comply. Let them sanction Nigeria and we'd stop their goods from getting close to any of our seaports. For now it's just the land borders that are affected, let them try nonsense and we seal both air and seaports to them |

Originalsly: What's the point of setting these conditions when it was already declared borders will be reopened in January? The conditions. Goods must be in the original packaging?...how would they determine that?....as if rice from China is repackaged as rice from Ghana? Goods must be escorted from the ports to the border crossing.... escorted by Police? These people need to sit down and plan policies instead just rushing to press briefings and saying whatever comes to mind. Those conditions the OP talked about has always been part of the ECOWAS protocols that member countries signed up to and not any new demand as the OP erroneously made it look. They all signed to obey it since when they decide to be members, why are they still going against the protocol they signed is the question |

joeyfire: No "military tradition" demands trial "within weeks" without concluding an investigation. The investigation panel had M.D. Yusuf the Head of Special Branch, Gowon, Usman Baba and others.
Some historians have inferred that Gowon who was Ironsi's eyes on the panel and the link-man with the SMC, deliberately slowed down the finalization of the report because it disappointed the "Igbo coup" narrative. Gowon was asked at several SMC meetings on when the report would be released to the council Akiko n'egwu, a coup where leaders from other regions were killed couldn't be investigated within weeks but Adaka Boro and his comrades who carried out theirs months later without killing anyone was tried within weeks and to be sent to the firing squad by December that year |

ChiSomtoChi: Another fake news from a bigot. Understand something here.
1. The killings of Igbos started in 1945 and 1953. Was Zik the president of Nigeria then? No! What has Zik got to do with it? Was Zik in power? Despite Ironsi was in power in 1966, yet the killings of Igbos didn't stop.
2. Adaka Boro wasn't fighting for the whole Niger Delta course. He was only fighting for the Ijaw people only. Before BIAFRA, there was NDR. Boro's struggle was only for the Ijaws. Simple!
3. You claimed Aniomas can choose their own identity yet they are the ones that put millions of SE Igbos in the mess we suffered and still suffering till today. Assuming the arrogant Anioma Chukwuma Ezeogwu didn't strike, No SE Igbos would have been killed. After Aniomas made SE Igbos as victims yet they still deny being Igbos. These guys are fucking annoying 1. Zik, Awo and Ahmadu Bello were trying to draft a constitution for independence, he was advised to consider the requests by Bello and Awo but he refused. 2. Adaka Boro wanted an all Ijaw republic called Niger Delta republic, I never said he was fighting for the whole of Niger Delta. 3. I could agree with you to some extent here, they set the ball rolling only to be denying us now but Ironsi could have done the needful by speedily trying the coup plotters, shouldn't have attacked Adaka Boro, shouldn't have signed the anti-secession decree into law, shouldn't have refused the "Araba"(secession) the north wanted immediately after the 1st coup and other mistakes he made. |

Jones4190: Ordinary border closure. They trembled. Benionise eyes became swollen. Ghanian President lost weight. Vietnam offers rice in discount rates. Cameroon prays we could soft pedal. Togo is arranging a reconciliation committee. Ecowas releases ultimatum. Thailand has ordered rice farmers to diversify while pressurizing us to reverse the gear. But we're not going back. So we told them. Above are the parasitic entities. They exposed our loopholes and became pompous. They rake billions we should have made as import duty. They're now feeling the heat. I didn't know Nigeria is this great. Sometimes, you've to let out your hidden insanity. And see who can stand your big head. But that Jubril should be up for award. His political will is strange to this age. He woke Nigeria up, albeit very late, and at a time we revel in slumbering. But we still boom with hope. And reflect a ray of optimism. Never doubt a children of potentials! We woke up late to check our borders. But yet command respect. The neighbouring countries that damn Nigeria were now sleeping on roof of regression. Let Ghana create another Alcoholic Republic for its Alomo Bitter. Togo and Benin should find another dumping ground for their illicit intakes. Our pride is on the rise. We're picking up our image again. On ease of doing business, we get a fair rating. People of our own, we're getting them enrich. We're taking toll on the smugglers. And the social vices. While we let our doubters quiver in fear. Nigeria's destiny is in Nigerian hands. The quicker we realize. The better for us. This is one of the best times to be a Nigerian. The future is green. God bless you and your future generation, allow those children of perdition to continue wallowing in their hate |

The scientific method itself is essentially a chain of logical statements that allow one to deduce “truth” when faced with a question. economics principle were majorly founded on logics .
Basic logics tells that importation itself is not harmful for an economy that takes competitive advantage . just for the second quater , Saudi Arabia export about 6 hundered thousand of oil to USA.

FactBoyz: Nigeria is a big country, with numerous tribes and culture.
The Nigerian big cities such as Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt and Kano are known to have the most tense and intolerant citizens in the country. This is not basically strange, considering the "Mega City" status these states possess.
However, still in Nigeria, there are states that have the calmest and coolest set of Nigerians, who take life easy and are fundamentally friendly, calm and easygoing.
Below are the top 10 of those states.
10. Ebonyi:
Ebonyi state is a south eastern state bounded by Enugu, mentioned above. The state is blessed with individuals and citizens who are easy to relate with, unlike their other counterparts especially Anambra due to its business mindset. The average Ebonyi man will be willing to help you even though he needs help. The state with capital Abakaliki is one of the best places to reside in the south east.
