Hello everyone, I got my passport today & was refused based on just finances, the three boxes ticked, even though I paid 1st semester tuition, my question now is, I am confused, if I get to tackle finances, hope there is no possibility of getting denied again based on another reason or I should just end canadian dream on this note because the emotional trauma isn't here.NB: I am a nurse, applied for Pgc in a nursing related course,

Just picked up my passport, just all 3 boxes of finances were ticked, paid CAD7000+ though for first semester tuition, it is well....

Congratulations to those that were approved! Please my passport was first despatched on the 31st of aug, now I got a mail that it was despatched again on the 6th of sep from Canada visa office accra to lag application center, please does this mail mean its in Lagos already or it might take a while to get here? I was refused in 2016 based on insufficient funds :
Reasons ticked : funds to transport my self to Canada and funds for living expenses .

I knew how to tackle these but I still got my GCMS notes just so I know the VO's tot process .

Applied : May 14th ,upfront medicals :

Medical changed to pass :24 th Aug and they started to review eligibility .

Application approved / passport request .7th Sept 2017 .(after two reminder mails )

Docs: submitted

1.All cic forms
2.school fees print out paid two years tuition .(27k CAD)
3 .my birth certificate and that of my sister ,I added her marriage certificate as her hubby is my sponsor (this was not in my first application ).
4.Sponsors affidavit of support.
5 .Sponsor transferred 2.5mm to my account (added his bank statement and mine) .
6.My sis bank statement(26 k CAD) savings ,she's in Canada by the way and in my SOP I stated that I had the option to stay with her .(accommodation sorted ).
7.All my employment documents ,salary increase and pay slips .
8.My house document .(Gift from my late dad.)
9.Sponsors employment documents and pay slips and in his letter he stated how much I mean to him .
10.My pension statement and Family picture of my sis and the hubby with me and kids in it .(this was to emphasize the relationship as basically I knew the VO doubted the relationship in my 2016 app )
10. Lots of prayers and trusting in God .

Upfront medical

20 July – request for proof of school fees payment and funds for living expenses and assurance letter from bank of being able to export funds due to restriction by CBN (submitted my own soa this time of 3.5m and award letter from school)

Aug 22-review of eligibility

27th Aug-call for medical (even after doing upfront medical-attached the e-medical form and sent to accra email)

4th Sept-Medical updated –passed

6th Sept- Request for original passport for all my application (1 study, 3 visitors, 1 work)

To God alone be all the glory. Though tightly busy, I will be willing to answer some questions in this regard and wish every other TRV hopefuls quick and favourable response from CiC. Merci!

I get. File number is the same thing as application number. There will be no 'FILE' number written on the correspondence letter. It will be the same UCI and Application number on your account that will be quoted on the letter. So order your GCMS file with the application number on your account which should start with S.................., It is the same thing.

Quick question for the nurses, what course can someone who studied nursing in Nigeria study in Canada, I understand international students are not allowed to go for course, any help will be most appreciated.

I am a nurse with Bsc & RN, unfortunately masters In nursing is not open to international applicants, only certificate courses, so you can do further findings, I have sent mails to schools & they insisted one has to be licensed as a nurse in a province in Canada to be able to opt for masters, not sure the VOs are aware though, yet to get my note though, so I can't say if I was refused based on choosing certificate course.

Austinpee...boss! It's not application that I was asked to send, the person helping me to request my note said file number which I think it's supposed to be on the correspondence letter which wasn't uploaded.

Did gcmsnow ask of your uci. ...if u linked your application online you will see it there na....that is where I got my own.....and beside earlier you order for your gcms note the better

Thanks dear, not UCI number, the UCI is stated in my online account, but correspondence letter & final decision wasn't uploaded on my account, it's a week already, a friend in Canada that wants to help with my note requested for my file number which I don't know.

my application is as it is since June 7....its unfortunate Nigeria has the longest processing times on their website, and are one of the highest contributors to their GDP. It is well, ive stopped worrying and leave it to God be it Negative or Positive.

am RN holder going for BSc. I've did alot of research and it seems is difficult to consider international applicants for nursing degree. some of the school said I should go for non nursing electives and that wouldn't be good for me considering age. I just needed to upgrade from Rn-Bsc.

AND I don't know how it will be going for practical nursing (another diploma).

please colleague any suggestions for me sir/ma ?

As for me, like I said, I have both RN & BSC already & masters should be the next thing but masters is only open to Registered nurses in Canada, you have to the license of a particular province as nurse before you can apply for masters, ONLY certificate courses are open to international nurses, could use that to tackle next application, that's if that's why I was denied because I am yet to know why, as for you, send emails to enough universities, they take RNs for BSC, my only concern is how you are going to convince the VO in your SOP because it's like they don't know how this health line thing works...God help us all, you might want to try U.K though, I have a colleague that got BSc admission with just RN. Safe!

God I didn't have a colleague in nairaland.

I am a nurse with Bsc & RN also, applied for trv & was denied days ago, don't know the reason yet though, applied for Pgc enhanced nursing practice clinical & critical, would have loved to do it as a masters because have got good grades but all masters in nursing in Canada are not open to international nurses except certificate courses, that's why I opted for Pgc, and I got to know about SOP after I joined this thread, would have stated it as a major reason for choosing Pgc in nursing & not masters, so I am waiting to get my note on why I was refused in other to know if I should reapply or not, feel free to ask me questions.
