HealthRe: Nigeria Only Has 30,000 Practising Doctors - NMA President, Professor Bala Audu by Aremson14(m): 9:20am On May 07, 2025
Desperate time comes for desperate measures
Increase capacity now for medical students in universities
Attend to medical staff welfare
Make it difficult for federal medical workers to japa

Upon all of those personal advisers selected none of them are thinking Nigeria is so disconnected.

EducationRe: Is First Class Worth The Stress Or Overrated? Need Your Opinions And Experience by Aremson14(m): 11:35am On Apr 22, 2025
It depends

If you’re doing something that has prospects for instance a business/startup/learning a skill that’s doing well and getting a first class might kill ur business then try and get may be a 4.xx/5 or a 2:1. If education is all ur doing and banking on (which I’m not a fan of ) then try for a first class

All in all life is so unpredictable and unscripted do your best

What is the west? Do you mean geographically? I’ll Culturally? I’ll assume you mean the former. Culturally Christianity and a lot of the belief system and education system originated from the Middle East

Again I ask what is the west ?
PoliticsRe: Rise Up, defend yourselves, Government cannot protect everyone - Danjuma (vid) by Aremson14(m): 9:02pm On Apr 20, 2025
Very insensitive leaders we have, despite all of this the president is out of the country. Which investor will hear this and will invest a cent in Nigeria, believe me potential investors are the once always monitoring the situation the most. May the departed soul rest in peace.

My dissertation was around this (multilevel parallel pattern library-c++) in a lot of works I kept seeing a lot of materials referencing him, had to go and find out who he was

FYI parallelism is one of the most complex and difficult problems in computer science, often times people are afraid of it. My own work almost drove me crazy but I enjoyed it, the guy did well 🥂

Foreign AffairsRe: Hamas Official Says Group Ready For Talks With Trump Administration by Aremson14(m): 9:19am On Feb 05, 2025
Botragelad:
This is just too ironic. These terrorists are finally realizing that all their efforts have been completely wasted. I’ll ask again: what did October 7 actually achieve for the so-called Palestinians or Hamas? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. In fact, it’s only made things worse for them.

Now, after Trump’s statement about relocating Palestinians from Gaza to Egypt, Jordan, or wherever they truly belong, they’re starting to panic. They see he wasn’t joking, and now they’re scrambling, begging for mercy. This isn’t about “resistance” anymore, it’s pure survival.

The only way to deal with Islamist extremists is to hit them hard, without worrying about what the crybabies on the internet have to say. Crush them. Make them understand the cost of their actions. Dominate them until they’re forced to beg for attention. There’s no negotiating with terrorists, the only acceptable outcome is the complete eradication of Hamas.

And where are Iran and Yemen now? Nowhere. They pushed these cowards into action without thinking, and now they’ve abandoned them. Hamas and their supporters will spend the rest of their lives regretting October 7, reminded of their failure every single day, until they’re finally wiped out for good.
Am yisrael chai🇮🇱!
This not same thing hitler said. U know i always wondered how the common German folks bought into the propaganda of slaughtering innocent people during ww2 and not revolt against the leader or is that they were heartless or something. Same thing happening now.

You're funny. Where did you get this phantom information from? No professor earns less than N500K. Even medical doctors earn an average of N180K to N250K.
Even with this, with the current situation after investing all your life to become a professor/medical doctor this is still small with the cost of living in this country…. A professor most likely already has a family o

What of the cost of going to all the school to become a professor?

A simple Mac book costs about 1 million naira… you might say you don’t need this, okay what of access to health when sick ? A family member got a car about 4 years ago 2.2 mill naira that Same car that should have depreciated in value is now selling for 5 mill…. Car is a 2009 model almost 15 years old car o

Obviously, you've graduated from that school of thought for contemplating the economic realities of the country.
Anyway, this is the ultimate advice, if a japa chance opened and you are not one of our politicians whose budget for feeding alone is amount to tens of millions or billion of naira like our ALAJEKU leaders, take it or your future children will hate you for making a dumb decision to wait on government of lies and deceits.
This might sound harsh but this is true. We need to look at the statistics of everything majority of those who enjoy this country(average to wealthy life o)are the political class, the number of “ordinary/poor man” that enjoys this country are few, the question is are you going to be part of them ?

I have a friend who graduated with first class and risked everything and started a cold room somewhere in Rivers.. spoke to him last week his transformer spoilt going to 2 weeks now. He has been down, these are some of the things one can face doing a business here…And believe me I’m a very strong advocate of invest in Nigeria but recently with experience my stance is changing gradually

There are opportunities in this country, you are even a federal worker so job security is guaranteed. But you need to also consider future Prospects, how fast can you get to the top of your field? What will you be earning in the next 5 years at your current job to support your family? Godforbid you or anyone close to you develops an expensive sickness. These are factors you might have missed which you have to include while making a final decision

Finally I’m in a similar situation as I have a fully funded scholarship to the uk with stipends, my current job pays me something similar to yours. and these are some of the things I considered

Everything is a risk but which one will you do and per adventure it doesn’t work out, you can leave with?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Should I Keep My Job Or Travel To The UK by Aremson14(m):
In a similar situation ship have a fully funded scholarship with living costs (MSc computer science ) vs have a job that pays about 200k tech remotely

I’m about to accept the scholarship and leave the job
HealthRe: Leukemia, The Disease That Killed Rotimi Akeredolu by Aremson14(m): 6:49pm On Dec 27, 2023
This is one of the reasons to consider “japa” most of this diseases has no specific cause and dem no da look face…treatment can be very expensive even for the average politician in Nigeria…
But abroad you stand a very big chance with the best medical facilities available.. I know you might say not my portion but these things do happen. In Nigeria we are too poor to even see this as a possibility

CareerRe: Going Back To School At Age 34 by Aremson14(m):
Was in a similar situation as you, though younger. Currently a software engineer my pay isn’t bad. Have a fully funded scholarship for computer science abroad my undergraduate is biochem also…

. My advice is what do you have passion for? For me from child hood I always loved computers and never paid attention to it, as soon as I graduated I put in for medicine direct entry didn’t work out( I was extremely desperate),,on the contrary almost every software engineering job I applied for I was called for an interview and they were always impressed and this is because of the tremendous amount of knowledge and time I put in. even without a background in computer science

All in all ask what you have passion. The it sector is very challenging to get into but it’s a field that if you have passion for can take you places in a very short amount of time compared to medicine

Ps: I have a very good friend studying medicine and he is in his 400 already, he is 38… undergrad biochem

Ask yourself honestly what do you love doing the most

I hope this helps

People were forced to go the care route because the uk refused to open up other sectors in terms of immigration policy, from the stats just 66,000 skilled workers visa outside the healthcare sector was given in the last 1 year for an economy that’s the 5th largest in the world. Honestly all the noise about net migration is just too unnecessary. All I see is deceit and unnecessary irritation.
I want to confirm o this skilled worker law does it so includes someone with sponsorship?
