Politics › Re: I Inherited N636bn Debt From Uduaghan– Okowa by aresa: 12:07am On Jun 27, 2015
cuteboy2:

Uduaghan carries the cup as the most curropt governor in the last dispensation.

He bought the press, and every conceivable award, real or imaginary. He doled out the cash and the press (principally, Sun and Vanguard) obliged him bogus "awards".

Some Analysis:

Gov Uduaghan left took a loan of N636b.

Assuming he has been paying 50% of that amount in interests and capital, that means Delta was overburdened with a debt of at least N1.2trillion

Delta had some the highest allocations from FAAC. Monthly net allocation (including 13% and VAT) = N10b. Annually, this amounted to N120 billion. For the 8 years he was in power, Delta got N960billion from Federation account.

When you add the amount borrowed to the FAAC allocation, Delta under Gov Uduaghan got (wait for it):
N1.2trillion + N960billion = N2.2 trillion.

At today's average exchange rate of 1$ : N200, the N2.2 trillion = $10.8 billion

There is absolutely nothing on ground in Delta State to show for such huge resources expended by Uduaghan.

Sad aspect about all this that Deltans known to be very vocal and assertive are plodding along like zombies. Nobody raises a whimper to ask a simple question. WHERE DID ALL THE MONEY GOhuh

#ShameOnDeltans
Funny enough, Lagos state's Total debt is N435 billion

Lagos state with 20 million people and the 2nd largest workforce in Nigeria pays out N6 billion in wages every month so why is small Delta state with Total population/Less than 5 million paying out the same wage bill amount like Lagos state.? Scheming and ghost workers of course..

There are countless projects on the ground to justify Lagos state's debt of N435 billion with, but what's on the ground in Delta state to justify their N636 billion debt with? Nothing....

Shut up. Your brother lied that oil was $147 in june 2007 so what rubbish are you talking about in 2008?

2007 and 2008 sounds the same to you or you are just too incompetent to read and comprehend basic english words?

Yaradua spent 3 years in office while GEJ spent 6 years in office so do the math and tell us who earned more oil money between the 2.

Some of you just need to STFU with your ignorant and unintelligent nonsense sometimes..

I don't see anything strange about what she just said....Do you think she is more knowledgeable /aware than the past govt on of how ECA is being operated.

she is only seeking attention!
A Havard trained world bank vice president and alumni of John F. Kennedy School of Government doesn't know anything about money and financial instruments than all the worthless losers GEJ saddled the country with?

Do you peoples spew your unintelligent garbage for fun or just to insult humanity?

Nigerians hate new knowledge. They prefer sticking to old beliefs passed on from past generations to them. Those of them on nairaland are a big portion of our society. So don't be surprised about the posts you see here, try and get used to it till they grow up .

Truly, this has always troubled me when folks comment on threads about serious national and political issues and input very low level (if any at all) of critical thinking into them. It set me looking out for another online forum with better informed and more meaningful comments. Unfortunately my search is yet to yield one!
Sadly, many of them are unintelligent, illiterate and ignorant and the fact that they all fall from the same tribal tree and sees everything tribally makes them more nauseating and annoying..

You simply can not have any intelligent conversation with them because they are all unintelligent

salary of how many months is he owing the civil servants... From which month did the debts start accruing?
Of what relevance is your point? Did they borrow to pay salary, yes or no. Its like a thief saying I stole 1 kobo instead of 10 kobo when in fact you are still a thief regardless.

They left billions in the treasury, but they borrowed money left and right to pay common workers salary.... Bunch of clowns...

What is bigotry about opposition or what is bigotry about when statistics are churned out and its absolutely different from what is on ground

If you define them as bigotry so be it...to me buhari is not the best man for the job due to age and inability to present simple WAEC and to me its reality and to you is bigotry

Now when you say a region is paved with gold and I say I am on ground what is it..sweeping facts under carpets and present non tribalistic postulation so that all will seem well

My dear truth hurt ..stats hurts sometimes ..we should be realistic so be it

BUHARI AINT THE BEST MAN FOR THE JOB BRO..TAKE IT TO THE BANKS
I shouldn't be having any conversation with you and your kind since only bigotry and hate shapes your mentality and utterances...
