Charly Boy Responds on Allegedly Halting Gov. Okorocha’s Speech at Father’s Burial

Read the statement:
This is to register my utmost pleasure and appreciation to all Nigerians for the remarkable show of love to me and my family in giving my father, Hon. Justice Chukwudifu Akunne Oputa, a most befitting burial.
I am very happy and indeed, very grateful to all.

My special gratitude goes to the Federal Government and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Imo State Government and Governor Rochas Okorocha, Rivers State Government and Governor Rotimi Amaechi, for their immeasurable support and participation.
May I use this medium to clear the air concerning news making the rounds. There is no ill feeling between me and His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha (SAM). I did not snatch microphone from him, no such thing happened at all.
I do not put out as portrayed by these news reports; I believe I am a very cultured individual, not one to rubbish a good gesture.
Once again, thank you all Nigerians.

Signed:
Charles Emeka Oputa (CharlyBoy)

You do have senators and public officials too so instead of spending your time and energy on irrelevant sentiments and hatred, why not start thinking about urging them to give back to their communities, constituencies and school children their time, energy, money and support to groom credible and well prepared leaders of tomorrow or just giving kids from humble background like this new winner a shot and opportunity to succeed in life.

Have you asked yourself lately what your own senators and public officials are doing to help and create life changing opportunities for the kids in your own constituency..?

It makes a lot of difference because it's very inspiring. This is telling other kids that they can succeed regardless of their poor or rich up bringing or economic status.

Even your president said the same thing to Nigerian kids that they can succeed in life just like him because he came from poor and humble upbringing and he was shoe less as a kid.

Olabanji is the son of a truck driver mother with the Lagos State Waste Management, Mrs Blessing Edun, and a cabinet maker father, Mr Olasukanmi Edun.

Take it or leave it, Tinubu as a man and APC as a party already carry enough stigma to make them loose all elections in Yorubaland. Tinubu, bouyed by ill-gotten money, tries to 'acquire' Yoruba leadership by hook or crook forgetting that the Yoruba dont worship money but excellence through legitimate means. And who does not know, that Aregbesola's attempt to subtle islamisation in Osun lent credence to APC's reputation as a party with islamisation agenda, something that is alien to Yoruba culture ? How come all governors handpicked by Tinubu in the SW are muslims ? He did it because he thought he can always rig the elections so whoever didnt like his choice could go to blazes since their votes would not count anyway. The alertness of security agencies helped to give us what we savour in Ekiti today. When was the last time you heard Afenifere say anything positive about TINUBU.

Politics these days is beyond voting but about swaying voters.
You are free to make Tinubu the messiah and enigma all you want, but fact remains that he has nothing to do with the election in Ekiti and Ekiti people are not even holding him responsible for anything.

We've heard from Ekiti people and the reason why they voted against Fayemi and Tinubu wasn't part of their views or political considerations.

Ekiti people didn't fault Fayemi for not developing the state, they said he didn't develop their stomach, he speaks big English and he didn't hang out with them.

Now. you've moved from Ekiti to Ijebu and Ondo to Olubadan and Alafin in Oyo.

Politics › Re: Ekitiparapo, the Dichotomy Of Yoruba Ideology by aresa: 9:56pm On Jun 30, 2014
They have propounded a new definition for infrastructure. They call it the infrastructure of the stomach or “stomachstructure”.

By this, they assert that although the incumbent has built schools, hospitals, markets, tourist complexes and other infrastructure that provide a system for organising the economic development and affairs of Ekiti, to create direct and consequential jobs for construction workers, architects, quantity surveyors, school teachers, doctors, and even employees of banks that lend money to finance these projects; the party of the governor elect would rather not do that.

They say, by their own methods, these things do not matter in any gubernatorial tenure.

Do nothing, gather money, buy rice, stop at a few local pubs to show you are ordinary (maybe without shoes) and distribute money and rice to the “grassroots”, and you are sure to get to Government House; and this is the plan for the whole of the South-west and the presidency.

This ideology will quieten those who ask why there is no electricity or why we can’t find the Chibok girls or indeed why audit reports on $20 billion or $10 billion should not matter.

It should quieten the rich and the poor who now live in fear of insecurity.
Indeed all those who are looking for employment and those who have died in the process should simply tarry a while. The money and rice are on their way.

If you still do not see the ideological difference on economic issues, let me spell it out in other words.

The party of the governor elect appear to agree with the party of the incumbent governor, that the poor matter and that indeed something should be done for them. What they disagree about, is what should be done.

The party of the incumbent governor argues that through new schools, new roads, new hospitals, tourism development and physical infrastructure renewal, the fortunes of Ekiti people will get better economically and developmentally; because, skills will be created and honed, services will be offered, jobs would be delivered on a sustainable basis.

On the contrary, the party of the governor elect argues that a once-in-four-year fix of dash, cash and inducement is what the people prefer. The people of Ekiti seem to have chosen this economic ideology by the “votes” of June 21, 2014

It may well be that the party of the governor elect may be right in their assessment of what the people of Ekiti and by extension Nigerians want, this would make any inquiry appropriate because; it may compel a change of strategy for many political parties.

It should make governance a lot easier if they were right. Do nothing, put money together, share it a few weeks to election, strut to Government House, and why should you bother about agriculture, electricity, housing, security, healthcare and more?

After all, everybody has been paid in advance to go and fix these problems by themselves. They will not matter, we will see them in another four years and rule again for the next 60 years, or indeed for eternity.

I just cringe every time I hear the silly grassroots and closer to the people rubbish and how Fayemi goofed for not pandering.

How do you work tirelessly for the same grassroots by giving them good roads to walk and drive on, infrastructures to better their lives and create jobs, give the old folks social security benefits every month unfailingly, making sure school students get quality education and credible teachers, strong and productive civil service.

I mean, who stand to gain from a responsible and productive administration? The same grassroots right?

The only interpretation here is the man didn't share the state's money with them, he speaks big English which is the lousiest absurdity because Ekiti is supposed to be Nigerian's fountain of knowledge and Education.

They can not have it both ways, they can not in one breath yarn for development and at the same time want that development money in their pockets or in form of bags of rice and other crumbs.

APC shouldn't compromise their standards no matter what, it's not by force to win elections.

Fayemi not only performed, he performed honorable and effectively, that they can not take away from him. He wasn't voted into office to share rice and taxpayers money.

Tribalism cum reigious bigotry is reason why a group of Nigerians with their sponsors bomb and kill their conationals. The Iraqi rebel group has just declared an Islamic Republic from the part of Iraq it holds. Are you not warring for Nigeria Islamic Caliphate country. Iraq has a strong armed forces but could not stop the rebel Sunni religious sect. Like Iraq, like Nigeria - divided loyalty in the armed forces hindered Iraqi armed forces from stopping the rebels. Iraqi Prime Minister is not being insulted the manner some Nigerians do to their president. Nigerians that so blame and insult their president do that mostly to have the president vacate Aso Rock, and have Nigeria's apex leadership handed back to the arch tribalists.
You mean the same Iraq military that collapsed and abandoned their posts, took off their uniforms and ran off like little girls.?

Btw, what do you mean by Iraqi prime minister is not being insulted? He's not only taking the blame, his own people and the most powerful forces in and outside the country are blaming him and even asking him to step down because he encouraged tribbalism, favoritism, nepotism and segregation in favor of his own shia tribe.

Jonathan in Nigeria is playing the same game in Nigeria with his religious bigotry and tribalism moves.

“We are disappointed with the soldiers, when we heard about the attack in Kwada, we raised alarm and informed the soldiers, but instead of going into the town to confront them, they stood from a distance outside the village, under a tree and began to shoot or target. The gunmen finished with Kwada and proceeded to Kautikari, where they attacked people there until 11:30am when they finally left. We cannot say how many people were killed in Kwada yet,” he said.
Just like the iraqi military, the soldiers GEJ sent to protect Nigerians are worthless, they flex only when it's time to oppress, kill innocent Nigerians and violate their rights.

The same Nigerian army managed to shut down a whole state in Ekiti and even took away the rights of many innocent Nigerians moving from point A to point B, but the same military can not shut down a small village in chibok, they don't even show face and when they do, it's the hours later or even days later.

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, western Nigeria, has unveiled and handed over the newly reconstructed Isopakodowo Market in Oshodi with 64 Close Circuit Television, CCTVs, to provide security for the market.
It's all about leadership. You lead by example.

If security is important and big on your table, you lead the way. This governor not only built this market, but he installed 64 CCTV from scratch. 64 CCTV just for one market. This means every human, cat and flies in and around this market is on tape 24/7.

Uchiha Madara: Thank you for pointing this out, unlike some dude that just told me on this thread that in developed countries cameras cover everywhere.

What an ignorant statement. The fact that there are cameras at a lot of places in say Houston Texas for instance, doesn't mean they were all installed by the government.

The cameras covering the humongous parking lots at Walmart, are they also installed by the government?

We should all learn to call a spade a spade, in some cases the gov is obviously corrupt, in this case though, the gov is asking for active participation from the private sector in installing cameras, which any sane person would view as being a good thing.
You are mixing apples and oranges..

This is not about seeing CCTV cameras everywhere, the point here remains that the Nigerian government spent $500 million borrowed from China on worthless or invisible CCTV.

The city of Houston didn't take out a loan from CHINA to install worthless CCTV all over Houston, the Nigerian government did and if the City of Houston did, it definitely wont be the worthless toys we have in Abuja.

The fact that we don't have to see Cameras everywhere in Abuja doesn't mean we shouldn't see any Camera bought with our money or that we should with worthless toys.
