Brendaniel:I haven't seen such a nonsensical comment for long time in this forum. Why do u suddenly derail from the subject-matter? Should u always blame others for your or National mayhem? If not because you are extremely ignorant of the history of ethno-religious conflicts Nigeria have gone through for decades you wouldn't have been here lamenting. You are lamenting now because the table has turned down. Concerning, election it is obvious that you underestimate the silence of others. Keep believing your delusional and illusionary perception, finally you will come back here and keep crying like baby just like you have been doing for sometimes. |

The Anambra State Government says it has commenced the registration of native doctors and allied practitioners in the state to sanitise the sector. The state’s Commissioner for Information, Paul Nwosu, who disclosed this to journalists in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on Wednesday said the decision was part of the resolutions reached at the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting, held at the Government House on Tuesday. He said the development followed a discovery that some of the native doctors were aiding criminals in the state, who have adopted the name, unknown gunmen, by providing them with assorted charms. Nwosu said: “Having discovered that some native doctors provide charms with which gunmen operate, it has become necessary to enumerate and register them as practitioners, categorised into herbalists and spiritualists. “While government appreciates the fact that some of them add value to health care, it is also not unaware that they have helped to imbue these criminals with the dare-devil confidence that has driven them into committing despicable crimes such as kidnapping, extortion of ransom, beheading, etc. “Where they are found culpable in such crimes, it will be easy to fish them out from the register.” The Commissioner also announced plans by the state government to extend the removal of illegal structures defacing the environment and endangering lives beyond Onitsha in the coming weeks. He said, “It has come to the attention of ANSEC that the lands of many community secondary and primary schools have been massively encroached on by some communities and developers. “This is unacceptable and government is seriously looking to recover these portions of land; part of measures to achieve this within the ambits of the law, government is seeking to quickly amend land laws so that land grabbing will be criminalised.” https://dailypost.ng/2022/07/20/insecurity-anambra-govt-begins-registration-of-native-doctors/ |
ISelectMySins:One thing abt any religion is, the believer stands on the principles, injunctions and adherence of the religion irrespective of the controversy and opinion of others. If you aren't ignorant of the 3 religions you will understand that the same Angel Gabriel revealed the divine revelation that guide the conduct of the followers as claimed by all the 3 religions. So, what is the difference between the approaches? Before you laugh, put yourself in the shoe of unbelievers of the 3 religions and imagine their reactions to God's existence, the birth of Jesus (PBUH), the mode of receiving divine revelation from God, the holy spirit and what have you. You may end up never to believe them but because you are born in a religious family and just dogmatically believe their belief that is why you even have the gut to make such outrageous assertion. Ponder well, do some independent research and know more about religion rather than relying on what others feed to your head. |

lereinter:The history of religious civilisation is there for you to read. From your comment it seems you are deeply ignorance of religious civilisation of the 3 major religions especially the Judaism. Religious violence in most cases isn't directly connected to religion but have affinity to persecution and intimidation by others which lead to taking defensive stand just like what is happening in Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and other Muslims Nations who are deliberately invaded, persecuted and have their right violated and later after taking defensive stand accused f terrorism. If not because of Christian Nations' (EU&US) intimidation, invasion, persecution and what have there would've never been terrorism in those places. There was a time Christians had Templars, Crusaders and take the most cruel religious killings in history under many crusader invasions. Go and read the history of Europe in 18th and 19h century's massacre and carnage which is a glimpse of current Arab Nations conflict and you will believe my assertion that the seemingly violence from one religious group is the creation of certain circumstances different from what you are made to believe today. Concerning Israel and Judaism, it seems you are completely ignorant of the persecution of Muslims and Christians in Israel today especially the Christians. Only ignorant, religious fanatics in Nigeria are happy when Israel is attacking any Arab Nation or Palestine because they are so dumb to know the reaction of the world during such difficult times, how Jewish see Christianity and how Christians are treated in Israel. Please follow the following links and buy some sense: CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION IN ISRAEL (INCLUDING THE WEST BANK AND GAZA) The two major religions in Israel are Judaism and Sunni Islam, with Christians composing a small minority. In Jewish communities, Jews who follow Christ risk rejection, social pressure and occasional violence from ultra-Orthodox Jews and organized anti-missionary groups. Christians in Israel proper often experience family rejection, low social standing and limited hope of job advancement. Jewish anti-missionary groups, especially Yad L’Achim, sometimes protest outside churches, cursing Christians and vandalizing their buildings. The anti-missionary activities have at times included violence against Christians. https://www.persecution.com/globalprayerguide/israel/?_source_code=WHPB20C The Pew Research Center has identified Israel as one of the countries that place "high restrictions" on the free exercise of religion and there have been limits placed on non-Orthodox Jewish movements, which are unrecognized. The religious affiliation of the Israeli population as of 2019. was 74.2% Jewish, 17.8% Muslim, 2.0% Christian, and 1.6% Druze. Muslim Arabs, citizens of Israel currently hold 17 of 120 seats in Israel parliament. Muslims have constitutional rights as their counterparts Israel Jewish and experience little oppression compared to Christians. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Israel Christians Feel Growing Oppression in Israel The experience of many Messianic and traditional Christians in Israel today who increasingly find themselves under assault, especially those living in or near orthodox Jewish neighborhoods. IamAtikulate:Wonderful dogmatic assertion! Unlike your assertion, oral tradition of preserving document doesn't exist in writing Qur'an. Hadith was accepted orally from known pious companions but not Qur'an. The written document of Qur'an were recorded on materials as diverse as Saddle Wood, Stone Tablets, Bone Tablets, LLeather, Parchments, Leaves, Branches, Trunks and the Bark of Palm Trees, PPaper, clothes, dry clay as well as having been preserved in people’s memories. It was well preserved because it is recite in 5 daily prayers. |
ISelectMySins:I God has given mankind prerogative programmed powers to handle his affairs with the blessing of sense. The complete Qur'an is miraculously preserved by God as the first book that human beings are capable of memorising intact Chapter after chapter, verse to verse, page to page in the right order despite the complexity of pronunciation of Arabic text which can easily have their meanings twisted without a mistake and the moment the mistake is heard when reciting Qur'an any Muslim believer will take note of it. All Muslims in the world memorised significant portion of Qur'an from generation to generation and as such no amount of distortion can affect it, effort to distort it will definitely go invain. Unlike other religious books that you can meet millions of believers who don't memorie their book. This is the best of all preservation. The credit goes to God for giving Muslims the uncommon instinct to memorise the book as the best way of preserving it to avoid the consequences of burning, distortion and abuse! |

MadamExcellency:Some Islamic description of Jesus: Jesus, Mary, and the angel Gabriel are all prominent characters in the Qur’an (as are Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and a bunch of other Bible characters). Muslims believe that Jesus (called “Isa” in Arabic) was a prophet of God and was born to a virgin (Mary). They also believe he will return to Earth before the Day of Judgment to restore justice and defeat al-Masih ad-Dajjal, or “the false messiah” — also known as the Antichrist. All of this may sound pretty familiar to many Christians. Mary (called “Maryam” in Arabic) has an entire chapter in the Qur’an named for her — the only chapter in the Qur’an named for a female figure. In fact, Mary is the only woman to be mentioned by name in the entire Qur’an. As noted in the Study Quran, “other female figures are identified only by their relation to others, such as the wife of Adam and the mother of Moses, or by their title, such as the Queen of Sheba.” Mary is mentioned more times in the Qur’an than in the entire New Testament of the Bible. Just as they do with all the other prophets, including Mohammed, devout Muslims recite “peace be upon him” after every time they refer to Jesus by name. Muslims believe that Jesus performed miracles: The Qur’an discusses several of Jesus’s miracles, including giving sight to the blind, healing lepers, raising the dead, and breathing life into clay birds. The story of Jesus’s birth as told in the Qur’an is also the story of his first miracle, when he spoke as an infant in the cradle and declared himself to be a prophet of God. Here’s the Islamic perspective: And remember Mary in the Book, when she withdrew from her family to an eastern place. And she veiled herself from them. Then We [God] sent unto her Our Spirit [the angel Gabriel], and it assumed for her the likeness of a perfect man. She said, "I seek refuge from thee in the Compassionate [i.e., God], if you are reverent!" He said, "I am but a messenger of thy Lord, to bestow upon thee a pure boy." She said, "How shall I have a boy when no man has touched me, nor have I been unchaste?" He said, "Thus shall it be. Thy Lord says, ‘It is easy for Me.’" And [it is thus] that We might make him a sign unto mankind, and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter decreed. So she conceived him and withdrew with him to a place far off. And the pangs of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date palm. She said, "Would that I had died before this and was a thing forgotten, utterly forgotten!" So he called out to her from below her, "Grieve not! Thy Lord has placed a rivulet beneath thee. And shake toward thyself the trunk of the date palm; fresh, ripe dates shall fall upon thee. So eat and drink and cool thine eye. And if thou seest any human being, say, ‘Verily I have vowed a fast unto the Compassionate, so I shall not speak this day to any man.’" Then she came with him [the infant Jesus] unto her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary! Thou hast brought an amazing thing! O sister of Aaron! Thy father was not an evil man, nor was thy mother unchaste." Then she pointed to him [Jesus]. They said, "How shall we speak to one who is yet a child in the cradle?" He [Jesus] said, "Truly I am a servant of God. He has given me the Book and made me a prophet. He has made me blessed wheresoever I may be, and has enjoined upon me prayer and almsgiving so long as I live, and [has made me] dutiful toward my mother. And He has not made me domineering, wretched. Peace be upon me the day I was born, the day I die, and the day I am raised alive!" That is Jesus son of Mary— a statement of the truth, which they doubt. So although Muslims do not believe that Jesus is the son of God — a critically important distinction between Muslim and Christian views of him — Muslims do revere Jesus as an important prophet. |
ISelectMySins:Any book that isn't well preserved and allowed to be subjected into changes and amendments is liable to be distorted not fake. Qur'an is well preserved and have never for o ce undergone any form of changes or amendment. There are many miraculous verses of Qur'an that proved its authenticity. Check them well. |

3LACK:Average Muslim know Christianity more than some Christians. Muslims know a lot about Judaism and Christianity. May be you are very ignorant of Islam. Islam sees Judaism and Christianity as earlier versions of Islam, revelations given within the same tradition by Allah but misunderstood over time by their followers. Muslims see Islam as the final, complete, and correct revelation in the monotheistic tradition of the three faiths. In the Qur'an, Jesus is referred to in ninety three verses in fifteen Chapters; and mentioned by name twenty-five times as “son of Mary” or “Messiah Jesus, son of Mary”. Islam agrees with Christianity that Jesus was born to a virgin, was sinless, performed miracles, and was superior to other prophets. Both Islam and Judaism teach that Jesus was not in any way Divine. Jews think Jesus was no more than a Rabbi. Islam teaches Jesus was no more than a prophet and a word/sign of Allah. (Qur’an 43:61) Islam, denies the central teaching and belief of Christianity by denying Jesus' divinity, crucifixion, and resurrection. Judaism denies the divinity of Jesus; but not his crucifixion. Both Islam and Judaism deny the Christian belief in original sin. Jews and Muslims are both in fundamental agreement that neither Jesus, nor any other human, should be worshiped as a God, or as any part of the one and only God. |
President Muhammadu Buhari has unveiled the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) just as the new firm will expand its retail outlets to 1,500. Speaking on Tuesday at the State House, Buhari said: “It is therefore my singular honour and privilege on this historic day of 19th July 2022, to unveil the NNPC Limited, with focus on becoming a dynamic global energy company of choice to deliver energy for today for tomorrow, for the day and days after tomorrow.” The president recalled how he was privileged to lead the creation of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on July 1, 1977, adding that 44 years later, “I was again privileged to sign the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) in 2021, heralding the long-awaited reform of our petroleum sector.” Buhari said with the provisions of PIA 2021, NNPCL is now independent and will conduct itself under the best international business practice in transparency, governance and commercial viability. “Coincidentally, I, on the 1st of July 2022 authorized transfer of assets from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to its successor company, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, and steered the implementation leading to the unveiling of Africa’s largest National Oil company today,” Buhari stated. The Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, lauded Buhari for the PIA 2021 which lingered for 20 years. He said, “While the country was waiting for the PIA, Nigeria’s oil and gas industry lost about $50 billion worth of investments. In fact, between 2015 and 2019, KPMG states that “only four per cent of the $70 billion investment inflows into Africa’s oil and gas industry came to Nigeria even though the country is the continent’s biggest producer and the largest reserves.” He however said all those had become past with the new industry. The Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), NNPCL, Mele Kyari, said the unveiling of the firm marked a new beginning, commending President Buhari for the PIA and the reforms of the NNPC which operated for 45 years. On the plans of the company, Kyari said the firm had created a robust expansion plan to increase its retail outlets from 547 units to 1,500 outlets within the next six months, stating that this would be done through partnerships. https://dailytrust.com/buhari-unveils-nnpcl-firm-to-expand-retail-outlets-to-1500-units When the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation was created in 1977, Buhari was also appointed as its Chairman, a position he held until 1978. During Buhari’s tenure as the Federal Commissioner for Petroleum and Natural Resources, the government invested in pipelines and petroleum storage infrastructures. The government built about 21 petroleum storage depots all over the country from Lagos to Maidugiuri and from Calabar to Gusau; the administration constructed a pipeline network that connected Bonny terminal and the Port Harcourt refinery to the depots. Also, the administration signed the contract for the construction of a refinery in Kaduna and an oil pipeline that will connect the Escravos oil terminal to Warri Refinery and the prpoosed Kaduna refinery. |

Fifty-two Northern groups under the aegis of the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) resolved Monday to join a planned anti-government protest by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) over the lingering strike by the Academic Union of Universities (ASUU). NLC National President Ayuba Wabba had in a letter dated July 15, notified its chairpersons across the states that Congress would on July 27 and 27, protest to nudge the federal government into meeting ASUU’s demands. The academic union went on strike in February over the government’s failure to honour an agreement it signed with it in 2009, on funding, salaries and allowances of lecturers. The National Coordinator of CNG’s Student Wing, Jamilu Charanchi, in a statement, accused the government of paying lip service to the plight of lecturers. He posited that the same politicians who benefitted from the magnanimity and foresight of past Nigerian leaders in the provision of quality now deprive others of enjoying quality education. Charanchi noted that the protest would be the mother of all protests as they would close the railways, airways, railways, offices of political parties and state Houses of Assembly until their demands are met. “As a last option and failure of these decent moves to yield positive results and ensure the reopening of universities, we hereby direct all our state chapters to mobilise students and parents to join the Nigerian Labour Congress for a massive protest that would entail the shutting down of activities in all states and national assemblies, all political party offices and all major highways, airways and railways. “It is unfortunate that people in government today, who are the major beneficiaries of the magnanimity and foresight of past Nigerian leaders in the provision of quality, accessible readily available and affordable education, are today the same people working to deprive other generations of the same privileges. “We are left with no option but to do anything humanly possible which will ensure the reopening of our classes,” he stated. https://www.sunnewsonline.com/ASUU-strike-52-northern-groups-to-join-planned-nlc-protest/ |

There is no single state in Nigeria that I haven't been in the last 4yrs, I have been to villages and mega cities and I have seen what most of you living in capital of ur states and towns don't even know or ever seen in your villages. There is no existence of govt in most Southern(equally in many Northern parts) Nigerian villages and towns except in Capitals and major towns that is why I always question the kind of understanding you have for development at Nigerian level. |
babasolution:Most of you making comments about politics know nothing about it. Cross carpeting in politics has always been in Nigeria's polity since the tenure of Obasanjo. Prove me wrong if the whole Senators from your entire zone secured job offers for their constituents as much as the jobs secured by very few Legislators in the North? Also look at the planned standard rail line, CAMA Act, PIB, FG institutions like Military bases, Military schools and Air force reference hospitals, Polytechnics, Colleges of education and Universities, AKK-PIPELINE that is going to be completed in the first quarter of next year, Abuaj-Kano road rehabilitation being built in the North and compare them to what South got in the last 7yrs, many power plants and substations and the border closure which will only empower the about 80% source of employment of Northern population especially in areas of rice production. In the last 4yrs, the number of people that got jobs in Dangote and Abdussamad BUA's companies in the North is infinite. You need to sit back, eschew ur bigotry, take neutral position and reject the lies they've been feeding u on pulpits and see pure truth with ur naked eyes and respond to me if Northern didn't get future economic master class under this administration despite the hardships. Ahead of the 2023 election, Reno Omokri, a socio-political activist, has declared that Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate is not a threat to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Omokri said the only threat to PDP’s victory in 2023 is Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, and not Tinubu. In a tweet, Omokri, who is an ally of PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, noted that Tinubu, who could not ensure APC’s victory in Osun State, can’t pose a threat to PDP’s victory. “The only threat to PDP is Kwankwaso. Tinubu is going nowhere. A KNOWN DRUG LORD who can’t win his home state can’t win the whole slate. “As for the other deluded fellow, in 8 months’ time, he will wake up from his dream and realise it was a nightmare!,” he tweeted. babasolution:I'm a Fulani Northerner and adent supporter of Tinubu but the attitudes of many people in the South toward selling Tinubu is seriously damaging his reputation in the North. In your effort to sell Tinubu to people who won't vote for him even if u give them the earth and the heaven you hereby risk Ising it all. I swear before General Elections, many elders and clerics of those children making noise for that Party will be afraid and ask their people to vote for PDP and surreptitiously explain to them that PDP is the only shortcut to their tribal Presidency. Honestly, there is near zero political strategy and structure in the South. Tinubu is the heart beat and soul of political strategy and architecture of Southern political future but the ethno-religious jingoism of some Southerners risk giving u problem. Using ethno-religious strategy to sell Tinubu in the South is dangerous, very dangerous. Remember, Buhari was aspersed all sorts of names prior to 2015 Election but the neutral strategy taken in the South by Tinubu paid well but today he is the candidate and u can't sell him through better approaches. TINUBU should be sold on the basis of concrete, achievable policy objectives which should be carefully interpreted before coming out to public, all other sinister agenda should be left in his chest! |
Finally, we, Fulani are at ease from the daily aspersions, insults and abuse we suffered because of the sins of few criminals among us. We have paid dearly for our son's just being the President of Nigeria for just 7/23yrs of our return to Democracy. All the conspiracy theories fabricated by renowned authors are buried for the sake of their son's candidature, Nigeria is suddenly no longer a zoo and to some extent they are aspiring to become the leaders of the zoo. Amazingly, they run to politics section to commend us with great joy that some of us are supporting their candidate. All unprintable names they call Nigeria, the bad image they painted her is brought to pause. This is telling us the reality of how unpatriotic, dogmatic, and selfish some people can be. Atleast, now most Nigerians can believe that what they're told are mostly lies. |
