mamaafrik:PVC registration is the best way to check Nigerian population. NIN and SIM has more to do with people who have phones and other services that requires NIN like Bank accounts, Driving licence, international passports and other related services. North have much more rural population and u can't use those indices for determining population size. |
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) says it received safety information from the European Rapid Alert System for dangerous non-food products (RAPEX) that a cosmetic product, Placentyne Hair Lotion has been banned. The information was contained in a public alert with No. 0033/2022, signed by the Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Moji Adeyeye, and issued to NAN on Saturday in Abuja. According to the alert, the product contains a mixture of preservatives, Methylchloroisothiazolinone and Methylisothiazolinone, which are forbidden in leave-on cosmetics. The statement disclosed that the product is sold in a 12 ampoules x 10ml cardboard box manufactured by an Italian company, Linea Italiana di Benazzi Anna & SAS, with a barcode No. 8029550000126. It added that Methylchloroisothiazolinone and Methylisothiazolinone are common preservatives which are found in many personal care products, which have been linked to lung toxicity, allergic reactions and possible neurotoxicity. The statement added, “Both chemicals inhibit bacterial growth in cosmetic products on their own, but they’re most commonly used as a mixture in products. “Members of the public in possession of the recalled lots of the product are implored to discontinue sale or use and hand over stock to the nearest NAFDAC office.” https://dailypost.ng/2022/06/26/nafdac-alerts-nigerians-on-toxicity-ban-of-european-cosmetics-product/ |

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday said one of his mistakes in life was picking former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as his running mate during the 1999 Presidential election. He made the disclosure at an event, held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, Ogun State, which featured presentations and exhibitions of some products, made by students of the participating schools. Obasanjo was responding to questions, posed by students from selected secondary schools that, participated in the final of the National Exhibition and Awards, organised by Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship (SAGE). Obasanjo and his former number two man, Atiku had a running battle during the build up to the 2003 elections. Going down memory lane on his life and achievements both as Military Head of State and a civilian President, he said he had made many “genuine” mistakes in his life, but God made him to overcome. The former President said, “One of the mistakes I made was picking my Number Two (referring to Atiku) when I wanted to become the President. But because it was a genuine mistake, God saved me. “The second one (mistake) was when Abacha wanted to arrest me. When. Abacha wanted to arrest me, I was told by the American ambassador that they will arrest me and that America has asked that I should be given an asylum. I said no. It could have been a mistake because I could have lost my life. “I will say there are many things that could have been a mistake but God saved me from them all”. Obasanjo lamented the current trend of recycling of old politicians in elective positions, stressing that young Nigerians would not have chance to exhibit themselves if the trends continues. While speaking on opportunities for the youths to take over the mantle of leadership in the country, Obasanjo bemoaned the trend of money politics in the country, which according to him would make it difficult for young Nigerians to participate in politics. He, however urged the youths to remain hopeful even in the face of money politics. He said with the “Not Too Young to Run” campaign, and you can see that those that are contesting now are between 70 and 80 years old, how can the youths run? “Another thing inhibiting youth from running is the amount of money involved in going into politics. I hope that things should not continue like this. “I was 39 years old when I became the Military Head of State. Twenty years later, I came back as civilian president, but those there now do not want to allow the youths. If things continue like this, I do not know how you can come in.” The former President, also tutored the students, that they should imbibe religious tolerance. He advised them not to see their own religion as Superior to that of another person. Obasanjo said, “I have no right to say what another man believes in is inferior to mine. If God had wanted all of us to be of the same religion, he would have made it so and since He did not make it so, no person should attempt to make it so. “Young people should learn at a very early get in life that if there are five religions in the world, that is how God wants it to be. If there are ten, that is how God wants it. All religions originate from the same source. “If you are a Muslim and you did not live the way the God wants you to live, you cannot enter Aljannah. If you are a Christian and you did not live the way God wants you to live, the same thing, you will not enter paradise. “If this is the basis of religion is doing the right thing for the benefits of mankind, you don’t have to condemn any person because of what he believed. “I do not believe that any religion is superior to mine and I don believe that mine is superior to another person’s beliefs. I will not allow any person to cast aspersions to my religion and will not do same for another person. Practice your religion the way God wants you to do it and don’t condemn another person”. Welcoming participant at the event, the Chairman of SAGE Nigeria, Agwu Amogu, said the programme was to celebrate the creative energies and commitments of teen entrepreneurs who see the challenges in the communities as their responsibilities. He said, “SAGE is an acronym for Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship. It is an international program initiated at the California State University Chico USA in 2002 and currently operational in over 32 countries across all the continents of the world. “It offers secondary school aged young people a hands-on learning process on how to create wealth, help others and their communities. https://dailytrust.com/picking-atiku-as-my-running-mate-was-a-mistake-obasanjo |
All these nonsense. Let the campaign begin and see how things will change. Power is power; APC Governors will teach Atiku a big lesson. Only those who understand the permutation of winning election will know how things clearly favoured APC. In Katsina, they have a young and widely supported Gubernatorial candidate under APC and will make it much easier for APC. Total votes of NW & NC will go to APC, half of NE will also go to APC, take this to the bank. |
Whoever Hakeem supports always fail election. These Arewa elders supported Atiku in the last election with all their energy and become confused when PMB won... |

Armaggedon: Transcriber:The Hausa language cinema slowly evolved from the productions of RTV Kaduna and Radio Kaduna in the 1960s. Veterans like Dalhatu Bawa and Kasimu Yero pioneered drama productions that became popular with the Northern audience. In the 70's and 80's, Usman Baba Pategi and Mamman Ladan introduced the Hausa Comedy to the Northern audience. 1990s: Bollywood influence The 1990s saw a dramatic change in the Hausa language cinema, eager to attract more Hausa audience who find Bollywood movies more attractive, Kannywood; a cinematic synthesis of Indian and Hausa culture evolved and became extremely popular. Turmin Danya ("The Draw" , 1990, is usually cited as the first commercially successful Kannywood film. It was quickly followed by others like Gimbiya Fatima In Da So Da Kauna, Munkar, Badakala and Kiyarda Da Ni. New actors like Ibrahim Mandawari and Hauwa Ali Dodo became popular and set the stage for the emergence of super-star like female actresses later on.2000s Kannywood By 2012, over 2000 film companies were registered with the Kano State Filmmakers Association. A local censoring committee created by Kanywood Producers and Marketers was converted into a board and named Kano State Censorship Board in 2001 by Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso. The origin of the term dates back to the early 2000s, traced to an article in The New York Times. Due to the history of evolving meanings and contexts, there is no clear or agreed-upon definition for the term, which has made it a subject of several controversies. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nollywood |

There are many Muslim Arabs citizens of Israel with equal right with Jews, having reasonable number of representatives in Israel parliament. There is uneasy calm in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the romance of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Labour Party (LP). Wike’s hope to become the running mate of the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was dashed on June 16 when the latter picked Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa against the recommendation of the party’s advisory council on the running mate selection. The council had reportedly recommended Wike who came second at the May 28 presidential primary with 237 votes against Atiku’s 371 as the running mate. Multiple sources in Wike’s camp said he had been livid with the way he was ‘edged out’. Daily Trust reports that since Atiku picked Okowa, Wike has been romancing with chieftains of the APC and the LP. This is believed to have made Wike’s private residence located at Ada George Road in Port Harcourt a beehive of activities. First to have visited Wike was Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi on Sunday, followed by a former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Wednesday. Bauchi State Governor Bala Muhammed has also visited him. It was gathered that Umahi and Obi’s visits were to woo Wike to their parties; while that of the Bauchi State governor was to placate him. Since he lost the PDP’s presidential ticket and the position of the running mate, Wike has not made any public statement. An ally of Wike said his anger was amplified when Atiku and the party jettisoned the recommendation of the advisory council. He said: “We’re weighing all options. It’s unfortunate that the party that refused to implement the recommendation of its committee on running mate will be talking about constituting a reconciliation committee. Who will take them seriously?” He said a crucial meeting of the Wike’s camp earlier scheduled for this week had been shifted to next week. “All options are being weighed,” he repeated. Another source close to Wike said he was still angry with the way he was treated by the party leaders during the selection of the running mate. “The Bauchi governor was sent by Atiku and his group to appeal to Wike not to leave the PDP; while Ebonyi governor and Peter Obi visited to see how they could woo him to join their political parties. “His silence on national issues has sent jitters across the PDP’s family and they’re not comfortable. They’re afraid that having treated the governor badly, he might defect to another party. That was why the Bauchi governor came to appeal to him on behalf of Atiku,” the source said. Wike’s media aide, Kevin Ebiri, said there was no official statement on the visit of high-profile politicians to his boss. No crisis in our party – PDP Reacting, Debo Ologunagba, the national publicity secretary of the PDP said there was no crisis in the party. He said the party was united and approaching the coming elections as a united front. “We should be concerned about the country, there’s no crisis in the PDP and if anybody goes to visit Wike, it’s normal, he is a leader in this party. In this party, we don’t work with allegations, we work with facts. PDP is strong and we’re ready for the election. “Governor Wike is a phenomenon in this party, a party man to the core, a pillar of this party from the beginning to now. We’re a party, a family. In a family, you can have differences, but that does not make it a crisis, there are no issues there. When there are differences, we resolve them and we have a structure within our party that is so robust that takes care of our differences,” he said. https://dailytrust.com/wikes-romance-with-apc-lp-raises-dust-in-pdp |
Omoslim26:And if Atiku wins we may give him 8yrs and make another third force to make it look the same way. I'm very much upbeat with the right combination Tinubu will win irrespective of it opinions. APC should know that the people talking about faith ticket won't and can never vote the party. The choice of faith that will enter Aso Rock remain the same irrespective of the party u vote! VP is very close to being a useless seat, Christians should advocate for Speaker and Senate seats which can guarantee their full protection in the events of laws that may harm their faith but VP is ceremonious with little or nor power to command respect! |
That isn't a problem. Handsome and beautiful people are commonly found in the North. We never gave Nigeria faces that world leaders are afraid of or mock as monkeys at UNN General Assembly. From Tafawa Balewa, Yakubu Gowon, Shagari, Buhari, IBB, Abacha, Abdussalamu (average of them), Yar'Adua and Buhari. They all have good looking faces ![]() |
WatchYourSix:I don't have a space to give us the points but go and research about what these men Sir Mathew Hale, Baron Kenyon, Lord Chancellor, and Lord Summers said and how they derived Common Law from Christian scripture. Look, I said it before Muslims aren't such dogmatic to wait for Imams to feed them with lies, Qur'an is enough for all Muslims, there is no information and guidance that isn't revealed there so no need forum to tell us something else. Wonderful, the so called free democratic states' laws that allows LGBTQ has the total backing of Catholic Church. The Catholic Church has intervened in political discourses to enact legislative and constitutional provisions establishing marriage as the union of a man and a woman, resisting efforts by civil governments to establish either civil unions or same-sex marriage. Many same sex marriages took places in many churches as part of the points I gave u. Christians can make new laws outside Bible to suit the demand of their culture just like how non-exisitng Bible verses got backing of Catholic churches and become a law in some places. This is how Common laws are promulgated! |

Bravetunde:I have the mental conscience to campaign for Tinubu for believing in his principles by looking at his past antecedents. Go and check my previous posts before Primary election was even started and you will know if I'm not Hausa-Fulani. |
WatchYourSix:In Islam people are not dogmatic to accept every verdict by clerics. No where in the world Christians use Bible verses directly to make laws. Just like how Bible is paraphrased, undergone changes to suit to the contemporary demand of churches, there is no need to quote verses of Bible to enact laws in Christianity but the laws shall be made to take the shape of Christian doctrines. Look at how your people ignorantly put aspersions and throw lies against Danfodiyo (Islamization agenda, fulanization and dumping Qur'an in Atlantic Ocean), despite never been a leader in amalgamated Nigeria he is still accused of what never happened just because he was a Sultan in the North. Therefore, a system of British rule is obviously derived from Christian doctrines, the courts, the schools and almost everything is what we inherited with regular reformations except if you don't understand the history of your faith from its roots. Look at the gown we wear in courts, the wigs and the process and compare it with old British system and get back to me! |
Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe has held a private meeting with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State in Port Harcourt. This is coming three days after Orubebe dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, citing injustice. Orubebe in his letter to the PDP Chairman, said the main opposition party was not ready to reclaim power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general elections. Wike lost the presidential primary of the PDP to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who also ignored him in his choice of the vice presidential candidate and picked Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa instead. He has been holding a series of meetings with top politicians in Port Harcourt recently. On the same day, Wike received the Senate Minority Leader, Philip Aduda in Port Harcourt. Aduda led the leadership of the PDP in the Senate to meet with Wike two days after he was nominated as Minority Leader to replace the former, Enyinaya Abaribe who defected from the PDP. On the entourage were Deputy Minority Leader, Shuaibu Lau, Minority Whip, Chukwuka Utazi, and Deputy Minority Whip, Danjuma La’ah. https://dailypost.ng/2022/06/24/2023-orubebe-pdp-senate-leadership-visit-gov-wike-hold-private-meetings-photos/ |
