Kaycevit: You are wrong..how can one without b.sc go in for M.sc? The information is 100% correct. In UK, you can apply for 2 years MSc Nursing program that leads to registration irrespective of what you studied in Bsc. Though most schools will want a science related Bsc and 2.1 and above. Some need work experience in a health care setting. |

dupylola: Good day house, please, I need advice. I came to the Uk Jan this year to study a 2 Years program. I am a married woman with kids so my husband and I planned that he would apply for dependant visa with the kids by March. Unfortunately due to the lock down, they couldn’t get the biometrics done and the worst happened,my hubby died from covid 19 related disease last week.My life shattered but I have to keep moving
I am planing to return to Nigeria to get the kids for biometrics but my heart bleeds for my husband after all his sacrifices . I am considering applying for his mum so she can help with the kids while I run around. Please, how can I go about this?? There’s enough fund to cover her maintenance fee.
@Just wise and all kindly advise. This is quite sad. Accept my sincere condolences. May God grant you the grace to bear the loss. |

eiete: As long as you stick to the stipulations for being granted a student visa you should be fine. The main one is working hours per week during term time. On a student visa the take it that your main priory for being in the UK is for study. So if you're doing more than 20 hours a week during term time, that calls into question if you're thee to study or work. During school holidays however, you can do more than the 20 hours a week.
ps: I just sent you a message. I have also applied to Hertfordshire to do MSc. Adult Nursing. Thanks for your reply. I have responded to your email. |

DrLuv: hi all, I am very sorry if i appear to derail your thread with a rather bizzarre inquiries of mine.
I heard there is a form of accelerared nursing programme in the UK for those with a Bsc.
I have not been able to get hold of some valid information about this.the little information i have is that if one has a BSc, one can apply for a MSc in nursing making one eligible to be registered withNMC.
unfortunately I do not have anymore information about this pathway.I would not know if anyone on this platform can help me with this info or there is some1 somewhere who took or is on this route to get registered with NMC or there is any Thread to this respect.
please I tender my apology once again for this derailing inquiries.
Many thanks Search for "Msc Adult nursing Uk" on Google, you will see results of different schools offering the program. It's a pre-registration nursing program. Most schools take people from any disciple but having a 2.1 and above is needed unless u have work experience in a healthcare setting then 2.2 may be accepted. I hope this helps. |

Peave82: -First off all when you start your masters try to take on roles such as student union, class rep etc as being a known face you are more likely to get your lecturers as references. -Attend campus career days as these are where companies come to university to talk about themselves and jobs they offer. There is also a career adviser on every campus and you can book an appointment with them.
-There are also student jobs paid jobs but your hours are restricted by law as you need to study and also voluntary/unpaid jobs with charities, these count as work experience so when the companies come you are more likely to land a position as you’re cv would be “interesting”.
-Some companies have license to sponsor your visa and others cannot so research these companies that come to your campus. -Remember after school you don’t qualify for an Iltr till 5 years so your next visa would be post study. (light thrown enough for you?.)....Hope this helps. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate. If I am able to get a job right after school, can I skip the post study visa and switch to tier 2 visa or must I get the post study visa first? |

Peave82: Actually that’s not true. Yes you can get by marrying a British citizenship but there are other routes too. I got my percent residency after 10years and i didn’t marry anyone to do it. They just need you to be truthful and submit the correct documentation that’s all. For someone who intends doing masters in UK and targeting ILR alongside, can you please give advice on things to avoid that may hinder one from getting ILR and also things one can also do for a successful application. I read that working more than 20 hours a week can be a hindrance. Please can you throw more light. I intend following same path you took. Thanks. |

lovesavvi: congrats on your offer, pls i also have an interview with university of derby by next month , pls how was the interview and what are the question they ask u? Thank you. The interview was okay. They asked me why I want to study nursing. I should tell them about a time I did something I was really proud of and will like to reflect on. I should talk about a time I helped someone make a choice and what why I think I did the right thing. Are there any challenges I think I might face while studying the course. I had the interview yesterday and haven't received the offer yet but they told me at the end of the interview that they have accepted me unto the program. |

mikeerrr: Congratulations.
Personally I will recommend Hertfordshire over Derby.
This is in terms of location & living costs. Hatfield is closer to London (Less than 1 hour) which offers you better work opportunities even after studies. Plus you can always go outing in London easily without spending much. Hatfield is an affordable city as well.
I think Hertfordshire also has higher ranking than uni of Derby.
Only thing about Hertfordshire is being around plenty Nigerians. Infact you will feel like you’re in Nigeria at times but people’s preferences differ.
Whichever you decide on, is still okay. Nursing jobs are everywhere really. Thanks a lot. |

Good evening everyone
I got admission to study Msc Adult Nursing at University of Hertfordshire and University of Derby. I have reached out to students studying Nursing at University of Hertfordshire and I got good responses from them. During my interview with University of Derby, I was informed that this September intake is the first time they will be admitting international students into the Msc Nursing program.
Please, can someone help me with views about this schools and also cost of living in both areas and availability of part time jobs too.
Thank you. |

You can enquire from uni of edinburgh, uni of southhampton, uni of manchester. These schools are good but there are other good ones too. Thanks for the information |

Nelse: For masters of nursing admission, your Nigeria nursing license is crucial, and some schools even require some clinical experience.. Yes, that's true but some schools like Curtin university, University of New England, University of Melbourne, University of Adelaide offer Msc Programs without needing the license. I came to this conclusion after going through their entry requirements. |

I have actually done my research and I discovered that it is true but not all universities offer such. I just wanted to chat with someone who has gotten admission or is studying already. |
