The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, on Wednesday said the election of President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office was a clear proof that no man, but God gives power. Akiolu made the statement when participants of the Senior Executive Course 41 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, visited him in his palace in Lagos. . A 51-year old man, Ukpai Ugwu, has been arrested for allegedly luring a 13-year old girl into sex romp by handling her breasts and getting her confused. A 27-year old, Musa Jubril, will live the rest of life without his right ear after he engaged his rival, Henry Okpeki, in a brawl, he bit off his right ear and vomited it on the ground in Lagos. A 20-year old girl has reportedly been gang raped in Lagos by five men who forcefully engaged her in sex romp one after the other. Three suspected cultists have been arrested by Police operatives in Ogun State and some female pants suspected to have been stolen for ritual purposes were recovered from them. Lagos State Governor-Elect, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has sent his condolences to his Deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and the entire family of the late politician, Oba Mufutau Olatunji Hamzat, who until his passing was the traditional ruler of Afowora Sogade in Ogun State. A 28-year old man, Oni Olohunwa, reportedly angrily stabbed his drunken friend to death for disturbing him during a party. The incident happened on Sunday 5th May, 2019 at Ogijo area of Ogun State. According to the Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect was arrested following a report by one Wasiu Raheem, who contacted Ogijo Police Division on the matter. He said that the suspect and the victim were both attending a party but the victim got drunk and started misbehaving. While the suspect was trying to caution him, argument ensued between them and the suspect brought out a knife with which he stabbed the deceased on the chest and back. There was a twist in the story about the purported discovery of poisonous cow skins, popularly known as ‘Ponmo’, in Lagos as the sellers have debunked such claims describing it falsehood concocted by one of the female importers, Mrs. Esther Gilbert Kanu, who wanted to use it to blackmail and force them to patronize her. In the past one week, the Police at Ikotun Division led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Abubakar Tsav, have lived up to expectations as they waged war with the deadly armed robbers known as ‘No Salary’ and ‘Million Robbers’ in Lagos. A 60-year old man, Cletus Ofoegbu, has landed in trouble after he reportedly caught married secret lovers in Lagos, took their pictures in their hideout and posted them online. The Police in Lagos have arrested two kidnappers and rescued a 2-year old baby reportedly abducted from the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Church (MFM) Regional Headquarters in Agege in March, 2019. P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the baby, Miss Esther Ojo was rescued in an operation led by the Igando Divisional Police Officer, CSP Taiwo Kasumu. The Police in Lagos have arrested six suspects with large quantity of poisonous cow skins popularly known as ‘Ponmo’ which were stored in a warehouse in Igando area of the state. He said that on 4th May, 2019, at about 5.00am, acting on the strength of information from a credible source that a truck load of cow skins, popularly called ‘Ponmo’, suspected to be poisonous were heaped in a warehouse at No. 9 College Road, Igando, Lagos. The Office of the Provost of the Lagos Police Command has arrested and detained a police Inspector, Dacha Ibrahim, for allegedly diverting and stealing a Bajaj motorcycle that was recovered from armed robbers by local vigilante group. P.M.EXPRESS learnt that Inspector Ibrahim, who is attached to Police Border Patrol at Seme, was ordered arrested and transferred to the Office of the Provost for disciplinary actions by the Area Commander, Area K Command, ACP Hope Okafor, after receiving the report. Facts have emerged on how a 28-year old notorious blackmailer and suspected armed bandit, Abdulsalam Wasiu, popularly known as Spartacus, was tracked and arrested by the police in his hideout in Ogun State. P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Spartacus was traced to his hideout by police detectives and brought back to Lagos after he posted a fake video clip to blackmail a popular hotel known as New Planet located at Ajangbadi in Ojo area of Lagos. He was said to have posted the clips, discovered that the police were after him and he then relocated to Ogun State. However, he could not hide for a much longer period before he was arrested. Tragedy struck on Thursday morning after a container loaded with goods from Apapa Wharf in Lagos fell from a truck and smashed an unidentified victim beyond recognition at the Mile 2-Oshodi Expressway. Scores of community leaders and residents of Agidingbi area of Ikeja on Thursday embarked on peaceful protest against the judgment of Supreme Court which awarded ownership of 398 acres of landed property in the community to a traditional land-owning family, Akinole-Oshiun. The possession order is said to cover a large section of the Lateef Jakande Road, Acme Road, Fagba Close, and other streets around the area, totaling over 2000 buildings. The protesters, who marched from Agidingbi to House of Assembly complex in Alausa, said Akinole-Oshiun family, which is the judgment-creditor in the case, had already given them seven days ultimatum to vacate their houses, urging the government to quickly intervene to avert bloodshed. The ever busy and largest ICT market in Africa, Computer Village, located in Ikeja area of Lagos, was shut for several hours today as business owners and stakeholders protested the alleged introduction of the office of Iyaloja and Babaloja in the market. The protest was said to have been fueled by purported underground moves by individuals who do not have businesses in the ICT hub to gain control of the market by proxy.
