Sir, Instead of you to apologize for your ignorance for sharing rumors of unverified information you are still proving stubborn thinking your own thoughts is right. Sir, this is social media millions of people have access to this particular website Nairaland so if you are not careful and you post any information with no reliable source gullible people like you can be misled sir because within short time they will start disseminating it to people that doesn't have access to verifying information online. Rumors spread faster. Do you know how much UAE in particular would have lost in this lock down? Do you know how many people use to enter UAE everyday? Do you even have an idea that they generate so much from visitors when they visit their countries? Abi you think those tourist attractions and other things are meant for the citizens to just view and snap pictures? They are making all efforts to ensure the disease abates so that they can resume to their normal activities, you are here guess sir. So it doesn't cost you anything to apologize for that wrong information and move on nobody will beat you for it. Don't be adamant sir. Let's be guided!

When I was coming to UAE I had every document you claimed to have as well.

TAKE YOUR MIND OFF THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE A JOB ALREADY. Your agent cannot bring you in without using a company, hence, he is using the security company. You will understand better when you arrive in UAE. There are some truths your agent won't tell you until you arrive. But in other to give you a safe landing that is why I am giving you AUTHENTIC INFORMATION.

If the Security Company were the one that employed you directly, you will have access to communicate with them. The 'likely PRO' you claimed to have spoken to is a friend of your agent. Only HR officer can communicate on employment related issues and you will have access to their official email address and phone number.

I have not told you that he did FAKE documents for you. But when you arrive and it comes out that you have a job as you claimed, GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

Take care.

Brotherly, honestly I appreciate everything you have elucidated so far. Am so so grateful for the information you gave me. I wish you well in this period bro

Firstly, It is your agent that is doing the Visa not the company. He is only using the company name to process your Visa which is the norm. YOU DON'T HAVE ANY EMPLOYMENT YET. You will not have any issue inasmuch as the company has agreed to the usage of their company name to process your Visa.

Secondly, be ready to prepare for three months upkeep (bed space, feeding, transportation, job fees etc) before leaving Nigeria.

Wish you all the best.

Thanks for your response brother. Well I wouldn't wanna argue with you because I know you know more than I do with experiences you already have in UAE while am still here in Nigeria.
I already have employment bro, I signed and thumbprint an Employment offer issued by the Ministry of Labour, its a security company. We will go for SIRA TRAINING and do medical before posting. I think the SIRA training fee is inclusive what they charge. I even have my Labour card approval self. I confirmed and verified all these documents from the website of MOL. In the employment offer my salary was stated, and it includes accommodation and transportation. I also tried my best to do some research i chatted the number on the employment offer letter the person responded, he is like a PRO for the company he said what he does is preparing offer letter for the company, so i told him to help me get the number of someone i could contact from the company so managed to give me someone number that partner with the company. But the man was forming big man he didnt reply my messages, then i now remember some of this company don't communicate with individual they only talk to registered Agency recruiting for them. My friend working as a security in Dubai was also scared of me not to be dumped, until I sent him my Labour Approval that carries my photo even with that he was not convinced cus he thinks it can be photo shop until he now showed his Supervisor at work to confirm then he now said its genuine.

To be honest with you, forget about UAE for now. Your agent is already starved for money during the lockdown, he only wants to collect your money and add you to the list of those who are already lamenting by promising you paradise in UAE.

There is economic downturn due to corona virus issue across the globe, coming to UAE at the moment is not encouraging. Several thousands of people in UAE lost their jobs, while others have not been paid salaries since March and there is no hope in sight. I know several people who are already planning on returning to Nigeria. If not that Nigerian government added that costs of repatriation are to be borne by individuals, several thousands of Nigerians would have returned home during this lockdown.

It will take a while before the economy pick up. But if you will not adhere to pieces of advice on this thread, you are free to take your decision.

Someone like us that already have employment with the company, my Employment Visa is already been processed by the company. The week the Employment Visa was suppose to be out is when they suspended suspended Visa issuance. So someone like me when the corona ends do you think I would have issue getting my Employment Visa Though I can't communicate with my company directly my agent has been the one talking to me and what he said so far is no problem. I even Thank God it was not out before then, cus they will cancel my visa and I may have to pay for another one.

From your explanation it showed the agent is doing freelance Visa for you and you are expected to pay a million plus naira. The agent is only using the company information to bring you to UAE which is normal. The company DOES NOT HAVE ANY OBLIGATION whatsoever to bring you in, but your agent. You CAN NEVER have direct access to the company. In this wise, go and relax yourself until the end of corona before anything can be done. Don't pay money to your agent again until your Work Permit Visa is issued.

Sorry for your situation and the money spent so far. Take your mind off it if you don't want to give yourself hypertension. Let the situation calm down and wait for UAE government decision then further actions can be taken.

I appreciate your response boss man.

You are right with your comment up there.

I managed to ask him and he mentioned something similar.

He said clients doesn't have access to the company directly that its only the registered Agency that does. Which means I can only contact the company through the agent. I think am alright with that for now. Like you said let's hope the pandemic ends soon so that we can move on from where we stopped.

Thanks for your time ...

I don't think anyone can give better answer to your questions than your would-be employer. Get in touch with the HR he/she will tell you the decision of the management which will answer all your questions.

However, you can have plan B by searching for another job the way you did for the first one should there be any change of decision by the company that gave you the current offer.

Wish you all the best.

Hey brother!

I really appreciate your response.

The truth of the matter is used an agent who is in UAE, am in Nigeria . From the beginning of the process till the offer letter was sent everything was genuine because I used all the necessary resources to verify the authenticity of the employment. It was when I was supposed to get my Employment Visa, verify it before paying my agent the balance that was when the ban was placed.

So far I have paid a certain amount to the agent which is half of the money he charged. I hope you know what that means bro? I already invested in it. Though recently I talked to the agent he told me there is no problem that is just the Employment Visa delaying which is true. But because I don't have access to the company's contact or how to contact the HR directly that's why am asking for opinions here. Because I wish to hear directly from the company to know what their decision is and I don't know the best way to ask for the company's contact address of the HR or whatsoever from the agent.

Hello My Lovely friends!

My Employment Visa was about to be issued when they suspended Visa issuance on March 17.

Please my questions is: No matter how long this Pandemic might take would it affect my Employment offer or will my Employment be cancelled

As this pandemic is going we don't know when it will come to end we are just been hopeful and optimistic it will end soonest. But for someone like me that already has an Employment offer but awaiting Employment Visa, what's my hope? Do you think the duration of this Pandemic lockdown should affect my current employment offer with my company in UAE.

Please I need you guys opinions on this.

Thanks very much as I await your responses.

So this is how I wasted my 3months without job here in UAE, Well am planning to go for visa change by ending of this month. cry

I really feel for you brother! With all those amount you have spent starting from when the Agent scammed you of Employment Visa in place of Visit visa. You would have spent so much now bro! Don't let me mention the figure. And I know it's not easy again to decide to return home cus of the shame and other things. I will just advise you to be careful of cost now so that you won't be so frustrated.

Before considering Visa change I will advice you to think about it very well if you truly wanna do this because if you see there is no certainty in getting job even if you extend your visa it's better you take away that shame and return home with the rest savings in your account, I know it's not easy but you have to take that shame away as far as you didn't borrow money from anybody. One thing about this traveling thing is you keep trying as far as you still have money in your account hoping you are close to it but at times it doesn't work for everybody like that. It happened to me that year I keep applying for this particular country and my visa keeps denying on every interview I keep trying until I emptied my account. The thing usually turn to addiction, people who have been in this same shoe before will understand better.

I don't want you to overstay your visa there or get stranded that's why you have to think deeply on whether to return home now or to extend your Visa. From experience from people in UAE, upon how strict their policies is some people have still managed to overstayed their Visa and now their there illegally cus because they don't wanna return home because of shame or avoid bn jailed. Sometimes we do somethings because we couldn't not cope with shame. Shame is something temporary which will not last longer as you expected as far is not something very serious that can not be heard in public.

Yes! Not everyone would experience this kind of things in life but some of us will do.

or the fact that you have tried all possible efforts and you are still going through all these right now doesn't mean you are a FAILURE or you have FAILED!

I have experienced something like that and even worst, couldn't talk to anyone about it even close ones. In fact my serious relationship was affected during the process. Was frustrated, traumatized and depressed but I got over it as a matter of time.

When there is Life There is Hope!

I hope you and some others in same conditions will be able to pick sense from my little write up.

Wish you Good luck.

Cheers!

It is truly ILLEGAL to collect passport, but you agreed in your response that it happens. It should not have been a problem but the attitude of Africans, particularly Nigerians make them do it. Nigerians will sign contract for two years when their employers have processed their two years Resident Permit for them, only to abscond after few months. Haven spent so much in the process, the employers are always at the receiving end. This makes the employers to use the ILLEGAL method to cage them from absconding.

NOC. When your employer sponsored your Resident Permit, you are permitted to apply for your annual leave to travel to your country of choice after one year. But if you sponsored your Resident Permit you are free to even leave upon one month notice. But very few Nigerians get jobs at top position with 4k Dirhams and above which makes traveling difficult.

Whichever way it is, if you are earning less than 4 to 5k Dirhams monthly, getting Visa to developed economies is extremely difficult except if someone who is rich or your company is sponsoring you.

Everything about this statement is wrong.

This is a public forum, let's always try to give accurate information.

Seizing employees passport is illegal but some company does it, mostly small companies though.

If you want to travel to another country from UAE , all you need to do is go to the HR of your company and get a letter called NOC (No Objection Certificate) the letter will state your job position, joining date, salary, the country you want to visit, purpose of visit, who will pay the bills etc, and they will address it to the country's embassy requesting them to issue you a visa.

Where the problem lies is your job position, salary and joining date. If your salary is below 4000aed, it will be difficult though not impossible to get a visa, because the embassy may think you want to run away. I can go on and on to explain this but I think this little explanation is enough.

This is the Autocad man, to me, I feel it's best to take a menial job first like waiter, store keeper, sales reps, security, house keeper etc.
While on this JOb u can gather money to run some professional courses, and even get lisence to practice
Also it will give chance to choose the area or section u want to start a new carrer,
Finally it gives u the Almighty gulf experience which u need to get higher pay.
This is my own opinion, I stand to be corrected.

My great Autocad Man! You have done well with your advice brotherly.

Let me buttress with little more.

For the purpose of people reading this; In most cases when you don't have people to sponsor and you are not financially buoyant it is highly advisable you start from somewhere with menial jobs that have a reasonable salary to start with from there you save up and aim at the professional jobs or other opportunities to move to other countries from UAE. Because if you sit down in one place and aiming for that professional jobs to start with whereas you dont have enough savings to shoulder the cost incurred or you don't have someone to sponsor you.

This will lead to procrastination and at the end you will regret for not taking that risk of starting from somewhere. Whatever menial jobs you will take just make sure the pay is far better from the job you will take in Nigeria. Its only if you have more than enough savings you can be aiming for professional jobs in Abroad.

This is 2020 meaning another decade has started. Stop procrastination. Start from somewhere. The right time is now!

I hope this write up helps in little way.

Let me explain this for those who want to come to UAE with residence visa; there's nothing like coming with residence visa, you will come with employment visa (60 days validity) , but in this case you're not going to work for the company, they are just there to sponsor your residence, it's after you have passed medical tests , that's when the company will apply for your residency. So it's expected that everything should be done within 60 days after your arrival in UAE.

My advice is for you to know your medical status in Nigeria before travelling, cos this has sent many people back to their home country after securing a job in UAE.

peace!!!

Thanks for sharing boss!

Please do you mind sharing what their medicals entails? The kind of medicals that would be conducted.

What I know is that there are variations because the company that eventually employs you will determine the answers to most of your questions.

Some provide accommodation while some would not.
Some provide free food and laundry services, especially those that work outside the city or in accommodations where employees are not allowed to cook their own food.
Duty of most security personnel is mostly 12hrs per shift and one day off per week. while some work 8 hours, some don't even have day off.
Some offer employment and later ask you to go for sira while some will set sira as a prerequisite to qualify for the job.
Salary varies.
Security men can be posted to anywhere you can think of.
You'll be given medical insurance, its compulsory for all employees.
One practice that is now common among security jos is that the employee pays huge amount of money for the Visa and every other expenses the company is gonna incur on the sponsorship. Some pay up to 3000 or more.

@drkay

I Sincerely appreciate your response boss. Thanks a lot!

For the bolded you are right bro, according to someone that works with immigration and travelling office as traveling and sales Agent. He said I will be the one to pay for the direct employment Visa and ticket. That when the Visa comes out after verification of the Visa and paying balance that they will now book the ticket for me in UAE.
