When i said ''smart'', i was refering to Fashola's political acumen; this is totally different from morality or fairness. It certainly goes without saying that the gov'nor has a hand in the mix-up. But by passing the buck of responsibility to the Health Ministry (where it rightly belongs, if i might add), the man has cunningly extricated himself from blame. Now if that isn't politically smart, then i dont know what it is.
I personally believe that a workman deserves his wages, and thus i sincerely hope that the striking doctors still have a curve-ball or two in their bags to force Fashola's hand; knowing politicians, i don't think the ''sympathy'' card will work this time.

KDULAR: Most people are in a job to earn a living . however there some sacred jobs/ profession that earning a living should be the tertiary issue and these professions include the Health professions which medical doctors are. With the recent strikes and attitude of Doctors before and these days, it is really doubtfull to ascertain whether ther professionals are NOBLE again. I wanna ask, when was the last time any other person in the health profession ( LAb scientists, pharmacists, nurses, anatomists, physiotherapists, community health officers/workers etc ) went on strike? Ask any of practisioners of these professions in the hospitals and they will tell you how greedy doctors are and to what extent they will go in making them look so insignificant in the administrations of health and more to putting bumps in the practise of their profession. All this was just to make other slook insignificant.

What ha sthe Federal Doctors has to do with staet issues. MUST YOU WORK FOR AN ORGANIZATION. If you think you are appreciated and your employer says he cannot, then the noble thing to do is to leave. However since Doctors are not trained administrators and enterprenuers , they are useless without the government. The reason they will fight tooth and nail to remain in government. I D

GboyegaD: Is Health Care truly cheap? This is where the National Health Insurance Scheme should come in. Health is not cheap and the best we can do is for govt to enforce everyone to get Health Insurance and that way it helps spread the burden over everyone both the healthy and the sick.
Addressing the doctors as being greedy is just an unfair statement to satisfy your ego. I am so sure you work and you want to be paid what is due to you. Therefore, if you protest when being cheated does it mean you are greedy? Let us please be objective at least for once.

Pls Pls Pls. You as an individual has no relationship with the doctors. The doctors oath says nothing about providing health service to you. It only says how they should act. Govt provides health service for you by employing these doctors whom aren't happy with their salaries so they were sacked. Stop saying people are dying cos of the docs, its govt that should provide health care not the doctors.
