Computers / Re: Post Your Computer (PC) Troubles Here. by Arobake: 12:40am On Jul 31, 2014
kevoh:
Is your disk drive partitioned? If yes, please move all moveables (movies, music e.t.c) away from Drive C to any other Drive you have created. Your laptop needs all the space it can get from Drive C when processing.

Secondly, using Norton Antivirus slows down the PC as Norton takes a lot of space. Try changing to a lighter antivirus like Eset or kaspersky.

Have you scanned comprehensively your PC for any Virus recently? If No please do that.

No, my laptop isnt partitioned.
I'll do what you've suggested.

Huge Thanks.

Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 is very very slow. It boots but when I start browsing or doing anything it takes for ever. And when i click on any tab, You Tube downloader, etc or document, i get '..... not responding'. I have tried defragmentising as well as uninstalling apps, but so far no joy. It's Windows 7.

Any advice, please? Thank you.

Lemme assume u mean ur dad/hubby was in active service when he passed on and entitlements havent been fully paid right? If thats d case i can contact one or two but must it be a senior Ex-boy? Chief of Logistics, DHQ was delta alpha delta Mil-Asst when former was still serving and is som1 i have unrestricted access to and he MIGHT help. But if u can exercise more patience for a lil while, delta alpha delta who was once HQ Abj Garrisson commander and one time MS (Army) , presently is outta d country. You might get lucky for me to be able to covince him to place a call tru to the 4th floor and that will most def do it. Meanwhile if u in a hurry, i cn link u wimma bro, a Lt Col bt in Brigade of Guards for advice on how u go abt it way and manner. Hopeu get all docs ready no be say u go push me go collito myself as confirmed clown

Thank you very much. I can wait-since that seems more certain. I have waited for a loooong time as it were. A few more weeks/months if it's more likely to bring results will be no problem. Yes, it's my husband. He died in active service in 1995 (he was just 32); and it doesn't have to be a snr exboy. I just thot someone who knew him might be more able to assist. He finished at NMS in 1980. And, yes, I have all d necessary docs. Thanks again.

Then tell him to double dash and come pay compliment to his senior ex-boy before i warm his pot...just kidding grin

Sassyangel (ex-girl), Oga Don Demu (is this d same as DomOm....the maths guru? If you get my drift..?), Oga Riley, and all my husbands -exboys- in d house, very warm greetings.

Oga Don, I just wanted to ask please, if you know any exboy at d HQ in Abuja who"l be willing to assist me with my children's late offr's scholarship issue. I have been trying for several years to collect it. (And is there any hope of us being able to collect it in arrears? Or should we just forget it).
His last posting was 332 Arty Shendam.
Huge thanks.

I would be on a long visit to Luxembourg soon DV, and would like to work while there. Is there any one on here who could assist in making my trip there that little easier, please? I tried once to get a visiting visa to UK, but they said I hadnt enof funds and too many dependants! And there r all kinds of stringent immigration laws in Britain these days. I've scoured for details of a number of European countries and Luxembourg appears pretty cool. I'l need info on getting cheap accommodation(probably house/flat share), as it seems accommodation is relatively expensive; and on getting jobs as soon as possible. All helps would be appreciated. Thank you.

Romance / Re: Such Thing As Being Too Sexually Comfortable In Marriage? by Arobake: 10:43pm On Jun 01, 2013
It's a pity really for most marriages. Lots of adventurous menene before marriage and then -halt!- after d marriage. And sadly, women r d most guilty. They seem to think 'such acts arent for married women'. Once they have d ring or whatever symbolises d kind of marriage they contracted - sex becomes dull for their hubbys! After marriage no more blow jobs/sucking off! Dont get me wrong, in marriage you can get MouthAction i.e you may occasionaly, get 2 or 3 perfunctory licks! and this from a gal/man who used to give you 5-10 minutes of mind-blowing blow jobs/'licking' when you were courting!? No more shagging or screwing for the rest of your lives! Yes, you get sex, intercourse, sleeping with, making love, etc. But believe me there is a whole lot of difference btw shagging/screwing/f*king and intercourse/making love, sleeping with...

No more doggy style. No sir, all you get is a grudging 'do you want me to turn my back now?' Sad really. And this attitude has no boundaries, tribe, religion, age, class, educational qualification - it is a common trait among married people, esp women. Period. I hear the same thing from my age mates, (im in my very late forties), and younger friends.

Of course marriage brings responsibilities - children, family, rent, school fees - but this shdnt be any reason why d sex life shld be consigned to d dustbin. If yu wouldnt share with your spouse, just a few hours of your time, d kind of sex life he/she craves, you might be strongly pushing him/her outside.

All your cousin need to do is to meet all student visa requirements, also apply to a registered school. Avoid private colleges with low ranking.

My cousin applied for a visiting visa about 6 months ago(she wanted to visit my husband) but it was refused for a variety of reasons, including she didnt have enough funds, she couldnt prove she will be coming back to Nigeria, etc. Now she wants to apply for a student /study visa. We want to know, please, if the change in reason for travelling would militate against her, even if she meets all other requirements? Thank you very much in advance.

If it has been picked up, the status will change to reflect that.

dotun474: Can anyone who applied for uk visa and picked up their passport tell me if the status changes to picked up or something?
I invited my friend to uk and he applied at vfs lekki. He gave me his vfs reference number and dob to also track for him. It has been 4 days now since it says it is ready for collection, but my friend is incommunicado. I just want to know if he has picked it up..so anyone that has picked up his or hers can please tell me if status changes to pickup or does it remain "ready for collection" even after pickup
Thanks

Please I need answers to my questions

To start with, you could download the Guidance Notes and read through. You just say self employed and put your phone number and email addr. where appropriate. I think an important doc here would be your tax clearance. And it could be in your name.

Start by reading the g notes and I'm sure somebdy else will come along here and supply more info regarding your question.
Good luck.

All unnecessary lies and misleading info, don't worry about the money and time you spent on IELTS, you will need it in future.

1. Go ahead and apply for spouse visa if you have all the requirements.

2. You can get spouse visa with virgin passport, not having travelling experience shouldn't be an issue, there was 'a first time' for a very regular traveller.

Get your documents together and go ahead and apply.

We are legally married and he is a uk citizen

My problem is similar.
I got married in Lagos early last year (he is white, British). After which he returned to Britain. He is visiting me again in 2 weeks time; and I was hoping to apply for a family visiting visa and return with him when he leaves. But so many conflicting advices: I was told I needed to do the IELTS. I did and scored 8 - having scored 6.5 writing, 7.5 listening, 8 speaking, and 9 writing. I have however just been informed that
1. applying for visiting instead of settlement would be suspicious and the visa would be turned down. But I am self-employed and cant just take off like that, I need to see the lay of the land; besides, right now the fee for the 'visiting visa' is more pocket-friendly.
2. I have also, just been told that because my international passport is almost a year old and there hasnt been any visa on it, not even to African States, I would be turned down, as UK does not grant visiting nor settlement visas on passports that cant show one is widely travelled.

PLEASE, which of these advices is/are true? And was all the time and money I expended on the IELTS a total waste?

Thank you.
