Lost faith in Jesus?
But you have faith in men/women (seeing you are asking for help/assistance here)?
A very sad existence, if you asked me.

I would love to assist you, but it's hard for me to assist you when you shun the Lord who was and has been my backbone since when I was widowed for over 15 (VERY tough) years.

Mizflo:

Thanks for the advice. I have lost faith in Jesus because if he was there I wouldn’t have been suffering like this . I don’t want to look for him because he has never care about me and I don’t want to know him
Travel / Re: A Visit To the Beautiful Lekki Art - One of the Biggest Art Markets in Nigeria by Arobake: 8:47pm On Aug 06, 2020
Take a closer look, dear. Think outside the box. Now, look at the thread like an entrepreneur -
and these are the facts that will strike you:
You dont need to waste time (and some stupidly-priced software) to do market research as to if these would be well-received in the market or not. You read that there were loads of expatriates there. You can see (hear) all the ooohs and aaahs at the beauty of the items.
2. You know where to get the items (I bet if you looked further, you will even see cheaper places in Balogun). But that will come later.
3. You have a good idea of the costs.
What are you all waiting for?!
You could banish that your poverty.
Look for money, not even up to #10'000.00
Buy only 2. Add the cost of your transport, then for profit, add only #500.00

-Aggressively advertise on your Facebook account in the time you spend following and liking and watching vid clips on Fbook. Advertise on Olx and Jumai/Daily deal (or whatever it is called/Konga/Nairaland etc.
-Carry to those high networth offices - banks, oil companies & multinationals in Ikoyi, Lekki, V.I. I"ll give you another tip free of charge: those people are very very well paid but they are also very very well-used. So they have money, but dont have time to relax and visit such markets.
A lot of them also have friends outside the country who would love these items as gifts.

Reinvest your profit till you are a bit comfortable. As a matter of fact, at this stage, you will find friends who will be happy to invest once they see your Account Book (please have an account book from day 0 of the/any business).

What is the worst that could happen if you bought 2? You will definitely sell one. If the business doesnt work? Importantly, you will know you did your best. Saw a crack and gave it a shot.

#This is an opportunity I myself would have jumped at and partnered with someone at home. They will sell like c-r-a-z-y here. Unfortunately I've been burnt too many times by my people.

**Interview between you and a journalist:
Question: Have you always been interested in selling artefacts, sir/ma?

You: no, not at all.

Question: So how did it happen?

You: It was a chance occurrence. Pure luck. I was just browsing through Nairaland one day when I happened to see a thread by travelwaka. And I started the business in bits (of course, you woulda forgotten ME who gave this advice by then). After some time, I started diversifying gradually.

Question: Really?!

You: Yes. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Question: And you have become a multimillionaire 3 times over! W-h-oa!

You: God is great.

Question: what will be your advise to people who want to be entrepreneurs or very poor at the moment?

You: I will say to them, do not despise the day of little beginnings and think after the box. Also, very important pray always.

Journalist: Thank you sir/ma.

You: Thank you too.

One day, the above conversation could be you or anyone, man or woman, reading this today.

Go on, seize the day!

Samsimple:
Chaiii this thread is not for me.. God punish poverty

OMGoodness!! Y-o-u are awesome.
And one of the most maddening things is because you are intelligent, smart or what they call "strong", they you are "obirin bi okunrin" i.e a woman like a man. Hell no! I am not a woman like a man. "Strongness", smartness etc isnt the franchise of any gender. I am a w-o-m-a-n and despite all the challenges, I am very happy and very proud to be one. Wouldn't swap it for 10 million pounds.

NiCurious:
Beyond just plain ENJOYING playing football with the guys?

[assuming that tomboys = girls who like to dress boyishly and play "boy" games with the boys]

Another reason you might find a girl acting tomboyish, is when she perceives that only males are respected and compensated for their contributions. She knows how people tend to be blinded by stereotypes, and prescribe for other people how they "should" behave, irrespective of their talents and preferences. If by birth she is "supposed to" sit on the sidelines, wear pink dresses and play with dolls, and follow after boys--in spite of the fact that she has much of value to contribute and which would be valued if she were male--she might reject a feminine appearance to make others take notice of herself for herself, to be heard, and fully express herself and her gifts, and be herself.

A tomboy can be a strong individual reacting to social norms that are too narrow and short-sighted. She is finding another way to be herself, when the first path is closed to her.

Teehaha I like you. You seem to be one of those who know iya Osho more than Osho. You have convinced yourself than you know my thoughts more than I do. You imply that I implied so and so. No, that was not what I implied.
But first, this is the definition of "imply" with example: Impu indicate the truth or existence of (something) by suggestion rather than explicit reference.
"salesmen who use jargon to imply superior knowledge"
See, it does not mean it is true that the salesmen have superior knowledge even if they "implied" same.

Secondly, with permission of 3 of the 5 individuals concerned, I will tell you what I meant by using "mostly". I did not want to be explicit initially because the 5 individuals had confided in me.

3 gays and 2 lesbians. 2 are friends of mine, 2 are colleagues and 1 of them was my student. Each and everyone of them is still undergoing therapy and being used in on-going experments to see if it is possible for them to alter their sexuality. Each one of them claims that he/she "became gays and lesbians" because they were sexually abused multiple times by people of their gender when they were in foster homes.

Sadly, in those days, enough due diligence weren't carried out before babies and toddlers were placed with foster parents. (Sadly, I personally, still believe that enough due diligence isnt being done, but that is story for another day.)

So, once again, quit putting words in my mouth that I did not say. Also quit attempting to get into my head, you can not. And finally, tomboyishness and LGBTs should Not be discussed in the same breath. They are not the same at all. At all.

Kayceenaz:

By using "mostly," you imply there are other factors besides "being born that way" which could trigger a transgender switch. That is where tomness and external influences such as sexual abuse, peer orientation, emotional heartbreak, misogyny/misandry, and so on, come in. Although not every tomboy/tomgirl turns a transgender (a point I have reiterated and you've misunderstood, too), my contention is the probability is high due to the growing comfort associated with assuming behaviours of the opposite gender. Such could (not must) lead to the transgender decision, especially when the resources to effect it are reachable.

Clearly, my position gives room for tomboy/tomgirls to significantly quit the personality as time passes, and advises the "shedding off" can be made earlier for harmony with the self. The fact tomness can be outgrown suggests it doesn't constitute the person's essence, making it extrinsic rather than intrinsic.

No. Please don't put words in my mouth. The ONLY reason I use "mostly" is because
1. I am not a scientist.
2. I am not transgender and unlike most people I don't presume "to know Ọṣọ's (colloquially, Osho) mother more than Ọṣọ himself".
3. I can tell you one thing for free, though, and authoritatively, Tomboyishness isn't caused by "sexual abuse, peer orientation, emotional heartbreak, misogyny/misandry".

Thank you.

Hahahahaha
Goodness gracious!!

Xclusiveme:
This is a very lnteresting topic. Let me help by clarifying things here.
When a child is been born, a gender is assigned to him/her due to the physical characteristics. Being a man or a woman isn't about your physical structure. It's how you think and behave. Tomboy/girl is just an incomplete transformation to being who they want to be. They don't have the will power or strong mind to tell the world that they don't literally fit in their bodies cos of the society. They are not coached enough about genderism. So as they are growing up, they are stuck with who they are from birth and not who they want to be. That's why you see tomboy and Tom girl everywhere. But sometimes due to a long term in their lives, their body and mind adjust. Either caused by the hormones or gender transparency. So tomboy is an efficacy to trans boy. Meaning incomplete transformation. With surgery and hormonal implants it's a full transformation
Family / Re: Why Turning A Tomboy Or Tomgirl Is Self-Conflicting by Arobake: 11:51pm On Oct 08, 2019
What she said is true. Even the last paragraph corroborates your initial assertion.
What we are saying, essentially, is that Tomboy and its vice versa have no place in this write up - at all.

Lesbians and Gays are mostly born that way not because of the people around them; And Tomboy isnt a catalyst to becoming gay at all. At all.

Mostly, Tomboys start shedding their boyishness when they start "noticing" boys. We evolve into girlfriends, wives and mothers (and grandmothers!). It's also scientifically proven that we keep one or two of our childhood boyish interests. I believe that. As even now in my (very) late 50s, I still love (car) speeding and soccer (my blood is Blue!)

Yours is a common misconception - grouping tomboys with all types of trans. But it NOT the same thing at all.

Thank you.

Kayceenaz:

If you re-read the concluding paragraph, you would discover I never asserted there is a necessary link between tomboys/tomgirls and transgenders. My point was such behavioural tendencies tend to lead to a decision to drastically alter one's gender. The high possibility of some transgenders today once being tomboys/tomgirls underscores the need to reconsider appropriateness of leaning towards such a personality. If you don't wanna get burnt, avoid moving close to the fire.

Also, I beg to differ on "tomness" being solely physical and not psychological. Exihibition of behaviours opposed to one's gender is the product of a belief system, a mental evaluation favourable to ways of life of an opposite sex. That goes on to pattern one's physical actions after it. In psychology, the term "Psychosomatic relationship'' sheds light on this truism.

Xadeeq:
Hello Everyone,

Like I said, I would post updates on my Visa Application Process on this forum so that prospective applicants can learn from it.

On the 4th of April, 2017, I went to the Embassy in Abuja with ALL my documents ready for submission and application as suggested my most seniors on this tread. Only for me to get there and for the Man who attended to me to tell me that I could only submit my University Certificates/Transcripts on that day and would be called once the verification of the credentials is complete (at the NUC). I appreciate all your comments. But for the purpose of those who would be applying this year, please note that the verification for certificates at NUC is still the first process to visa application. And for this stage of the application, I THINK SOMEONE CAN ACTUALLY DO THIS PART ON YOUR BEHALF. This is my personal opinion, as I was just given a form to fill for this process. The form contains the information of the Document Owner and the information of the person who is submitting these documents on his/her behalf. You can try it if Abuja is thousands of miles away.

The person who collected my certificate actually said the verification process at NUC should take between 3 Weeks to 1 Month. It would be a month by next tomorrow, I am yet to hear from them. I called the embassy, and the response I got was that my documents have not returned from the NUC.

Please house, does anyone know how to speed things up from NUC's end?

The next process, once they get my documents verified at NUC is the application proper which involves the submission/presentation of the documents mentioned up-thread. Many thanks.

Thank you very much.
God bless.

Frankrobbn1:

1-) The funds available in the sponsor's account (step father) should be sufficient enough to cover for the applicant's first year tuition and living expenses and have some left for the sponsor's immediate family and personal welfare.

2-) I don't quite understand your second question, do you mean to say if company/cooperate account is ever acceptable for Canadian study visa or is it compulsory that it should be a personal account? If so, company account is also acceptable as proof of financial support although by so doing the sponsor must provide a bank reference letter stating clearly that he is the sole signatory to account or a board resolution letter attesting that the board of directors/share holders in the company are fully aware of this sponsorship and hence won't tend to pose any hindrance to the applicant's financial support during their stay in Canada.

3-) Preferably an international passport bio data page will be better in view of fact that the sponsor is a foreigner which will show that he is legally residing abroad and also would serve as proof of relationship b/w the applicant and sponsor. Therefore, I would suggest you include it.

4-) Marriage certificates is a strong proof of relationship make an effort to include them. Remember to also make reference to all of these in the applicant's personal letter.

Best of luck!

Dear Frankrobbn1,

Im asking on behalf of someone else, please.

The sponsor for his PGraduate Degree is his British step father who is self-employed.

2. Copy of Sponsor’s Letter of Employment

4. Copy of Sponsor’s Employee ID card
5. Copy of sponsors international passport
6. Statement of Account from Sponsor’s salary account.
7. Copy of Sponsor’s landed property
8. Copy of Approval and Survey Plan of Sponsor’s landed property
9. Shares or Investment account (Like T/bills) (if any)"

please, may I ask
i. about how much in pounds should reflect in the sponsor's bank account/statement?
ii. Is a personal account ever acceptable or must it be a personal account?
iii.will an ID be necessary other than an international passport?
iv. considering the stepfather is white, will only the marriage certificate with his mother be sufficient proof of a relationship?

Thank you very much.

Frankrobbn1:

Get as many as the shortlisted documents and include them with your application.

Sponsor 1 Documents (Company)
1. Letter of Sponsorship
2. Article of association and memorandum
3. CAC CERTIFICATE
4. Particulars of directors in the company
5. Tax Clearance Certificate

14. Copy of Police Character Certificate
15. Copy of West African Examinations Council Senior School Certificate

18. Copy of Transcript of Academic Records
19. Copy of Applicant’s International Passport Bio data page
20. Copy of family picture. (not compulsory)
21. Resume
22. Professional Certifications (if any)

Since you're using a company sponsorship as primary proof of support, I would suggest you get them to pay part of your tuition fee and transfer the living expenses to your account. This will solve the issue of funds accessibility and availability that might be raised by the visa officer.

Best of luck
