JustCash, thanx for being tenacious and constant in pointing out where the fault lies. As for our friends, i won't mention their names, but they know who they are and the interests they represent on Nairaland. It is their type that collude with the corrupt rulers to keep us down, with them, a handfull of porridge is enough for to sell their birth right. We are not perturbed by their presence, they are not the first. We know who they resemble in the governemnts of yesteryears in Nigeria, they will suffer the same shame that those ones are living with. For sure it is a known fact that in every land/clime, the government must provide a condusive environment for growth and development. Where such is missing, the government has failed and have no business being in power. Of course, the citizens too must be law abiding, but what law do the citizens obey, when their rulers are above the law? When the rulers rule by example, then the citizens will follow suit. Welldone JustCash. keep it up. |

Give it up for Lagos. This is quite hilarious! My ribs are aching. |
Forget the Obasanjo family angle to the whole story, it could have been you who sold your legitimately owned land to DHL. Think about the damage this action of land owners in Lagos has done to the campaing for investors. I recently lost a piece of land to land owners in Ijanikin, man was it paiful? Sure. |
Why not? If both of you can handle it why not? if both of you are matured enough, no problem. Why throw love away in the name of numbers or society's unfair impositions. Love is the reason for any union, not age, not money, but love and love recognises no age difference. Poster marry your man, forget his age. http://www.tourismonitor..com |
Mine was a memorable one in Borno State, after the initial culture shock I adjusted to the place. Was not good with the platoon stuff and march parade, but was good at football and clubbing, you know having fun with new friends. Known by almost everyone in camp for my laziness. Served in Bama, a couple of miles from Camoroun, it was fun, the system was flexible, allowed me enough time to stay in Maiduguri, it was fun. Always at Giwa Barracks, and Maiduguri International Hotel (MIH) where my pal in camp was posted, most of them are out of the country now. I sampled everything Borno had to offer, their food, drinks, language, dance, wears, parties. I often look back with nostalgia. Hmn! NYSC was meaningful than it is now. For those preparing for camp, be positive, have an open mind, be determined to make the most of the situation. Enjoy it. http://www.tourismonitor..com/ |
Welcome Mr. Soludo to Naija politics, we have been expecting this for sometime now, especially given the fact that you are now interested in consolidating and re demoninating Anambra State political life. We know that truth will always prevail. If lie lie BenJohson for one million years, truth go catch up with am fiam in one second. http://www.tourismonitor..com/ |
Wifey is facing similar chalenge. Will have to proceed for the e passport. Hope we won't have to meet with several obstacles. |
Hmn! I can't help but laugh at the EFCC chair person. Let madam EFCC do her work, then we won't need to scan people's mind and heart to know who will loot or not. To reduce looting the national treasury, let madam EFCC prosecute and send to jail all the known kingpins (former governors, LG chairmen etc) that are working free. Will not mention names, but she has their dossiers, punish those ones, and it will serve as strong deterrent to new politicians. |
Arlington, please be your brother's keeper. Kindly send me via mail, the name/address of the clinic in Lagos. Would be glad if it's IVF centre. (arogbowei@yahoo.com). Thanks in advance. http://www.tourismonitor..com |
Mr. President's turning to Mr. Adam's Oshiomole to intervene in the current crisis is a vote of no confidence, an indictment on the abilities of the Education minister, Mr. Sam Egwu to steer the rudders of that ministry. In other climes, Mr. Egwu would have resigned. http://www.tourismonitor..com |
It's with full attention that I read this post. Suffice it to say that I am passing through the same problem with my spouse, we've been married for 5 years now without an issue, though we've had a couple of miscarriages. But we are not losing hope or losing our joy, neither are we giving up. A friend of ours wanted to introduce us to her doctor for treatment, but she suddenly grew cold feet. Just yesterday we were discussing how to get a good doctor. By the way, my spouse and I are in our early 40's. http://www.tourismonitor..com |
Pity. Poor man was killed for nothing. Hope management of Guardian will take up the schooling of his children. Hope the wife will not experience any delay in collecting his gratuities from his former employer (Guardian). Can't wait to see that law amended to reflect the reality of today Naija. My heart goes to the poor woman, who is now condemned to a life of loneliness, regrets, sorrow and sadness http://www.tourismonitor..com/ |
Let's stop insulting ourselves over the failings of our rulers, it's not worth it. The facilities in LASUTH is inadequate, the manpower not sufficient. Take it or leave it Lagos population is not helping matters. Government's knee jerk approach too is not encouraging. Solution? Expand the facilities, employ and train more manpower. Ditto for LUTH, National Hospital, Abuja and all other General Hospitals across the country. Let's not fight over this. http://www.tourismonitor..com/ |
Aroma Ufodike is my man! Congratulations man. We are proud of you, Nigerians are happy for you, and your achievements. You have proved to all that we still have the stuffs it takes to make things happen. Most importantly, you have proved that it's no waste of time studying. I enjoin all Nairalanders to born the mid night candle too. I am celebrating with you Aroma. |
Hmn! who post this thread? I'm begining to suspect this thread, abi na topic we go call am? Looks like the Rebranding Nigeria fellas have arrived on Nairaland. If not why on earth will someone be asking an obvious question knowing the situation of power generation in the country. For the benefit of doubt, bros, nothing has improved, if nothing it is getting worse. But be rest assured Power Holding (PHCN) is still sending us bill for power not consumed. Look below this page and tell me the adverts you saw. Bye. www.tourismonitor..com |
Nigerians do not have weird names! I love my full name, EBIPATEI. It has a rich meaning. My children will all have native names. |
No secrets. Come clean to avoid wahala in future. |
Welcome to Nairaland. It's one big happy family. I am the last born (Benjamen) of Nairaland. I am also the favored one. Enjoy the family, ensure not to break the rules of the game. Welcome! Welcome!! Welcome!!! |
Love is blind, but I see good! Age ain't nothing but number. In other climes fine, but in Nigeria no way, love may be blind to 2 or 3 years difference, certainly not 25 years, the gap is too much. Expect physical combat from his mother, and older sisters. Expect pressure from his friends and the society at large. Forget his so called 'maturity' he will cave when the real pressure mounts on him from the society. As for you, discouragement and suspicion will not let you enjoy the union. You will definitely become jealous and old each time you see him in company of younger females. You will feel disgusted and insulted when he exercises his headship. |
To me, our school's disciplinary system is still hanging in there despite all the attacks/ threats from parents who are now more American than Obama and more English like the Queen. In any case, the level of discipline in public schools have gone down. But do you blame the system? Blame the society that celebrates indiscipline. Blame the society that throws it's own values out through the window because of some strange/alien/foreign cultures that has not helped it's practitioners. There is no two way to success. Discipline right from the home front down to the various schools be they public or private, a child needs discipline all the way. |
Sure I did on the streets and crescents of a place called Agbara Estate, and it wasn't bad. Hawked bread, mango etc, but the one that put me off as a child was oranges, i was not so good/fast with the peeling, more often than not I ended up being helped by my customers (housewives), and impatient buyers. To me it's what has added up to make me who I am, self reliant/dependent, not looking up to anyone to provide from when I was young adult. Wouldn't mind recommending some refined aspect of it as training to my kids. |
Very well supported. if you visit our orthopedic hospital in Igbobi, you'll call for outright ban. Let them limit their trade to the inner roads, the carnage is too much, i barely escaped a crash late last year. Meanwhile, adequate info on what roads constitute high ways should be made available to the various okada unions operating in the state. Very well supported. |
follow your dream, no fear di thing pay well well |
Two options. (1)Bring it to the table. (2) Save, save and save. |
What do u expect of those shameless rascals. They are supposed to be fathers and husbands to some people. What manner of honourables? I pity dem family members, particularly their wives. |
To me, my living legends are those market women, (mama kelechi, mama sikira, mama eno, mama tombra, mama hafsat). These women are up every morning, as early as 4.00 am to commute for more than 6 hours daily to and from the various markets in Lagos to buy wares for their kiosks. And they will remain standing from the time they return from that time till 10 . pm. And the next day, they are up repeating the same routine without any protestation. In most cases, these faceless women are the bread winners of their respective families, some of them are widows, others held forth for their husbands who have been rendered impotent by bad leaders some of whom we now parade as living legends. These women are my living legends, their staying power has not cease to amaze me. |
While not subscribing to this practice that is capable of causing trouble for innocent wives, the driving force for single girl/married man affair are; *revenge *security *prestige *availability The end is often tragic. |
The future of a banker depends on him. To get to the top, he must be patient, not rushing, he must have simple eye, not extravagant. He must invest in himself (upgrade mentally) on a regular basis. |
