For now no way. Na shakara dem dey do, dem no fit survive one month without petroldollar. But with liberation/education/industrialization they can. Especially when the followers start asking questions then they will. then there will be no more One Nigeria. But that will be after we finished the gas reserves in the Niger Delta. |

Fellow Nairalanders, are you surprised at El Rufai's disclosure? honestly, me am not surprised. Mr President is yet to tell us the huge difference between amount declared when sworn as governor of Katsina State in 1999, and amount declared when sworn in as President in 2007. As for El Rufai, I pity him, how can kettle be calling pot black. Was he not the one who transformed into an Octopus during his last day in office signing over 5,000 land C of C? Abeg make we hear word, we know say all of una for corridors of power get questions to answer. |
Charles Chukuma Soludo cannot be ignored. Before Soludo came on the scene, there were many banks in the country operating with the mindset of micro finance houses. I am of the view that the outgoing governor has played his part in evolving a good financial system for the country no matter his other failings (afterall, he's only human). With the exception of Professor Aluko, who was never a governor of the CBN, no other public official has brought as much intellectual vigor to issues around policies of the CBN as Soludo. His arguments are clear, his logic unassailable and the breadth of his sympathy broad. Soludo took the Nigerian banking system on the global map, and in the process deepened the roots of our economy. Sanusi Lamido must be prepared to deepen the roots of consolidation and in the process further consolidate the grounds already covered in our banks bid for global reach. Congratulations Soludo, we are proud of your achievements. Wishing the new man all the best. |
Reply button is swift at my end. Meanwhile one day father go be President, son go come be Vice President, then daughter go be Finance minister, girl friend go come be CBN governor. By the way, check the appointments in Murtala Nyako's Adamawa and tell me what you see. |
But who do this people take us for, dummies? Everyone knows that all our refineries are long dead and about to be interred, so how could MEND/JTF actions cause a shot down? Nigerian leaders self. I tire o. Hmn! Happy 10 year demoncratic (army arrangement) anniversary for Nigeria. |
Man will always dominate man to his own injury. (Ecclesiastes 8: 9). It does not belong to man who is walking to direct his step, not to talk of those of others. (Jeremiah 10: 23) So long as you and I see what is happening as a Niger Delta headache, there is no end on sight. But the moment we all see it as a national problem, then there might be a beginning of the end of the problem. |
As at 3.15 pm this evening at the International Trade Fair Complex, Lagos Badagry Express Way, we exchanged @182. Only God knows when Naira will appreciate, or experience re denomination |

Manchester United are a delight any day. From the manager, to the bench, it's complete. Yet at the begining of the season most folks did not give them a chance, but here we are champion of EPL, and of course of Europe. Barcelona must fall. |
By all means, secure your husband's support and approval and build your house. It's good. At least you're not wasting your money on frivolities. Build it's the smart way to invest in your future and that of the family. Some men are not comfortable with this type of proposal from their wives, because of peer pressure, but hey, persuade him until he sees reason with you. When you finish building the house, make you invite us for the party o. All the best |
A man must be seen to be doing something, unless he wants to admit failure on all fronts. Economy has collapsed, politics has gone bananas, society has turned upside down. So should we let a bunch of Okerenkoko youths also add salt to injury? Seriously, a man must at least win something, like declaring war on hapless women and children in the name of search and destroy of militant camps. The Niger Delta people are not strangers to injustice and oppression, right from the time of imperialism, down to state occupational forces, they have always met oppression with an uncommon determination. Check the roll call. Ovoramwhen Nogbaisi, King Jaja of Opobo, Isaac Adaka Boro, Ken Saro Wiwa. Injustice can never triumph over justice. Never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
It's true they may be entitled to their opinions about us, but shouldn't they respect us for all the sacrifices for them? Personally, I was miffed by what the Ghananian government official said on TV, 'cause i am in the middle of a negotiation with some Ghananian companies to site an office in Accra. But with this request for $350,000, they can as well hold their peace, that request is too much for a small company like mine. If they want quality, if they crave zest and bite, i mean healthy competition, then Nigerians are the only ones who can do that to their economy. If they refuse us entry, if it becomes necessary, we'll find a way elsewhere. |
All the reasons given above are why outsourcing is out of it for now, but in future if our infrastructures are in place, why not. I shudder (recoil) when i hear people say we are lazy. Nigerians are not lazy. Promise72, was probably in Nigeria before traveling abroad. If we were lazy he would not have been able to adapt automatically to holding a job, not to talk of 3 jobs. No jobs for Nigerians. Here you have to be extremely creative to hold more than one , but over there the jobs have been, or are being created for any hard working person. Give Nigerians similar opportunities and see what happens. Some persons here in Naija, yours' sincerely inclusive are holding more than 2 jobs at the moment. Nigerians are not lazy. I am constantly touched by the staying power of the Nigerian woman, give her very little and she will still get something done. Give us power, road, security, leadership and see what happens next. we will overtake this countries in outsourcing. Oga ta Oga o ta owo Alaaru a pe. That proverb is synonymous with all cultures. |
Everything is failing because of power supply. My food lost strength and change taste before morning because of power supply. I cannot sleep because of power supply, i cannot do proper feasibility studies because of power supply. That company ought to do a thorough feasibility studies before coming. Even small boys like us do before anything. Government should wake up to it's responsibility. Solar energy is pretty expensive, unless you import components direct from Europe or Asia. Feasibility studies would have nipped this in the bud. |
LightofJoy, looks like we reside in the same surburb, it's pretty tough living in that area of Lagos. No light in the whole of Igando, we all thrive on generator. someone please do something. |
The lifestyle of an average Okada man is not different from that of the Area Boy. LovePeddler. Wine. Lotto (Baba Ijebu) Majority of them including so called responsible looking family men crack under pressure and end up doing alcohol, taba and other despicable vices. I see Okada as generating more vices and spreading more poverty. So many artisans who should be contributing meaningfully to the economy and improving their skills (welders, plumbers, painters carpenters) have abandoned their trades and took up okada riding. In the end take home not enough to justify what they spent years learning. |
I foresee the outbreak of helmet flu. Wearing public helmet will breed Lice + Lapalapa = 'Helmet Flu'. My God barbers and hair dressers beware. |
Money is good, but the best part is having it work for you, and you not destroyinh your family happiness because of money. Of course, very necessary to acquire it in a clean manner, not soiling our conscience via prostitution, or fraud. |
Do not conclude yet. Do not use a single incidence and hear say from his so called cousin to judge him. Please give it time. He could be broke that night, feel uneasy admitting that to you. So take your time to get to know him better. |
Actually i have met at least two persons who have collected this sum from the Swiss government in the recent past. Guess what? Shortly after returning to Naija, one traveled to Britain, then he won this US visa lottery, and is currently in Obamaland (USA). I am sure, the second person is equally processing his papers. Wish him well. There is actually, a NGO that was hoping to work with the Swiss government to that effect, it was supposed to monitor voluntary returnees, amongst other activities, and yours' sincerely was supposed to be their Coordinator. |
Ride on daughter of Africa, citizen of the world. I am proud of you. It's not all about yahoo yahoo, drugs and kidnapping. This is truly refreshing. Where can I grab a copy? |
Never! More often than not, you're at the mercy of daddy in law/chairman, it is tacky. Remember Jacob and Laban the Syrian in the Bible? After so many years, of growth and expansion in the family business, courtesy of Jacob, the father never liked him, his brother in laws, saw him as a threat, how many times did Laban the Syrian, Jacob's in law changed the agreement? More than twice. In fact, they stopped short of saying that Jacob stole their wealth. Wise women Leah and Rachel were, they promptly cooperated with their husband and escaped for their lives. Will never work for my father in law. Too much closeness could choke me. |
How true. Only I've been wondering why the media is not awash with investigations into sharp practices like these. Or, is it a case of protecting their own U bet! |
RayPower/AIT are not the only ones. i put in about 4 years with Minaj Broadcast International MBI, Matori Mushin. For the 1st six months we were paid half salary, the last seven months of my nearly four year stay, was without salary. Yet the then owner, Mr. Mike Ajegbo terminated my appointment, on thump up excuses. Till date he has not paid my outstanding, mine and those of other colleagues who were gullible or too scared to leave and take their lives in their palms. Sometimes ago Believers Loveworld owned by Pastor Chris Oyhakilomeh entered an arrangement with Mr. Ajegbo, to offset all accumulated bills including unpaid salaries of staff. Mr. Ajegbo collected that sum and chuck it up, how prodigal! They are the so called role models, God forbid. As for me, i left and has since been self employed. I vowed never to work for any man again. It's been great being my own man. I am in the middle of employing 2 new staff, to meet up with my targets, never will i treat them that way. Ever wonder why there's a large turn out of staff in Galaxy? The story is the same. |
Why, what's wrong with being humane for once? I did cried when i saw the movies 'Lord of the Rings'; Titanic' and a couple of others. We're being human, when we do. We all have that tender side that this harsh economy and society cannot replace. So it is normal, it is humane and no need to be ashamed for doing so in the presence of a wife or girlfriend or fiancee or even female competitor. |
Why can't youths think of what to do rather than scouting for jobs that do not exist? Know yourself, know your passion, how can I turn my passion to gold, what training or mentoring do I require for my passion to become gold? That is definitely the way forward in this age and time. Youths cannot find job because our educational system is faulty. Our system should emphasize skills rather than certificates. |
I no longer pay attention to what the President says, because i have lost faith in him. He is full of rhetoric without action. 1.We will declare emergency on power, 2 years and no action, instead Presidency now budget to cover Generators for Aso Rock. 2. We will declare emergency on the Niger Delta, 2 years later nothing is happening, the boys have grown wild, infrastructures have collapsed. No electoral reform No Bakassi No hospitals No roads No schools NO VISION Forget the rhetoric about cocoa, it is another avenue to feather party loyalists nests. |
Sure thing. A man's past will always surface one way or the other, either for good or bad. But let him beg God for forgiveness, and the ladies involved as well. We all at one time or the other might have disappointed someone, but it is wise and proper to beg for forgiveness, to calm frail nerves and broken heart. To a large extent our conscience will excuse us, and that matters a lot |
