FamilyRe: What's A Woman's Duty In Marriage? by arogbowei: 10:45pm On Apr 17, 2009
I feel the post should have been the responsibilities of a man who's wife is expecting.

Be that as it may, my brother, this is a special period for your wife. Perhaps this is her first experience, then take good care. Like you heard from the other women in the house, pregnancy could do a lot of things to women, just bear with her, remember she is your friend and lover.

By the way, must you eat at home, couldn't you eat out and bring some for her as well? Forget those talks from inexperienced males in the house, be a good man, concentrate on your wife, lessen her burden by preparing her meals if you must eat at home. It's worth all the effort.

Many congrats in advance.
HealthRe: I Need To Get Pregnant But I Havent Seen My Period In Three Months by arogbowei: 10:10pm On Apr 17, 2009
oh dear, please. calm down, this things happen sometimes in a weird manner. Definitely see a gynecologist, remain calm, relax your body could just be responding to some external stimuli that you may not be able to put your finger on at the moment. Think of the experiences of those who's had similar experiences, and how things eventually turn out for good. I have someone close who's undergoing similar experience, and I believe there are lot's of women undergoing this trauma, to all of you I say keep your head up, do not give up in despair.

Tips: Relax, Pray, Research, seek the assistance of professionals (gynecologists).

All the best.
PoliticsRe: Yar'adua Confesses: 'I Can't Sleep Over Power Situation' by arogbowei: 12:01am On Apr 14, 2009
Ha ha ha grin grin, the president cannot sleep because of power. I can't sleep either, the nuisance of power generating set won't let me. I've not had PHCN light in my neighborhood since October, save for a brief 2 weeks period in February.

Bravo! We have started throwing money at problems again, the same way we did with OBJ, this whole throwing of funds at problems without thinking them through will not work.

Hope they have done critical appraisal before throwing funds.
TravelRe: I Think The Most Beautiful Places In Africa Are: by arogbowei: 11:57pm On Apr 10, 2009
Africa my Africa. Africa of proud warriors. A land filled with lush green grass and beautiful landscapes, from Cairo to Cape town, and from Obudu to Monbasa, Africa has it all, history, culture, beauty, we have everything. I encourage all to ensure that they spend their next vacation on the African continent, rather than going so far away to some Disneyland so far away from home. We need that money you're taking away to develop our motherland.
WebmastersRe: What Motivated You To Start Your Blog? by arogbowei: 10:41pm On Apr 10, 2009
I've really been missing out on the big fun of being heard by others, I thought the forum (Nairaland) was sufficient, but now I've realized I could do even better.

I've got loads and loads of unpublished (stuffs) articles in my library. Will use this to bring them on.

Will catch up with ya!
CultureRe: What Do You Hate About Your Culture? by arogbowei: 11:45pm On Apr 07, 2009
1. culture of forceful marriage of widows to surviving brother of late husband, whether brother is capable to carry the load of the late brother., and whether the widow wants it or not.
2. culture of female genital mutilation.
3. culture of depriving the widow and her children of their late breadwinners belongings, in the name of safeguarding posterity.

Generally education, legislation and enlightenment can take care of all this. But i love the aspect of my culture that reflects the day to day communal life. But what i love most is the waterworld, from Arogbo to Sabgama, from Burutu to Bonny Island, the waterworld never cease to fascinate me. I look forward to it everytime i visit my homeland. The beauty of our culture far outweighs the grey areas, i strongly believe that educaion and legislation can take care of such.
TravelRe: REASONS FOR NIGERIANS TO STAY IN NIGERIA AND ARE WE REALLY GOOD PEOPLE? by arogbowei: 11:19pm On Apr 07, 2009
Who will develop your country for you, except you?

Americans build America, Britons build Britain, Japanese build Japan despite a hostile environment, Chinese build China despite so many limitations. Indians build India, where will Nigerians build except Nigeria. Nigerians should be ready to build their family, their community, then it will be a done deal for the nation.

You must not stay in Nigeria to do so. You could reside in space, moon, anywhere at all to do so, just build. Everyday wherever you find yourself, always remember the child of whom you are, always remember that a good name is better than gold. That way you and only you could hold the light that will beckon for others to follow in the building project.
PoliticsRe: Group Wants Obasanjo Arrested For Spraying Notes by arogbowei: 8:22am On Apr 07, 2009
Those who live in glass house should not throw stones. Some laws are obnoxious to our culture, why i personally do not subscribe to showy display of wealth, including openly spraying Naira, we need not legislate on it. Educate the people to respect the Naira, and that would suffice. We should concentrate on legislating poverty to the back door.

Leave the old man (Obasanjo) alone, let's concentrate on how to move forward please.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Adebayor: King Of Africa Football by arogbowei: 8:50am On Feb 13, 2009
Hey guys, let's leave Adebayour alone, the boy deserve it. 2nd highest scorer in EPL, habba! By the way, did u remember Milan Arsenal match in the Champion's League? He delivered against all permutations. That is no to say that Aboutraiker did not perform well, but only one king at a time.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Sending A Thank You Note After A Job Interview by arogbowei: 11:02pm On Jul 22, 2008
Thank you note is quite in order, it shows that you're thoughtful and put you in the good book of your would be employer. I sent one after my first job interview, and it served as the clincher.
By all means be thoughtful and send one, remember to lay emphasis on why you think you're the one for the job.
CareerRe: Can You Describe Your Job? by arogbowei: 12:15am On Jul 18, 2008
Oh Dear, what a question. I'm my own man. Presently I am working (partnership) with a foreign NGO to get foothold in Nigeria. Our objective is to assist to reintegrate Nigerian returnees/illegal migrants from Europe/USA. Very soon we'll be taking our case/awareness campaign to Nairaland. So please watch out for us.

I also hold a franchise from one of the leading manufacturers of chemical/laboratory consumables in Europe. I do a little bit of Real Estate, online biz. Jack of all you could conclude. I do a lot of public speaking all to make ends meet.

No doubt i enjoy what i do, i feel fulfilled, won't trade it for anything.
TravelRe: Third Mainland Bridge To Be Shut For Two Months by arogbowei: 11:41pm On Jul 16, 2008
The timing of the shut down/ maintenance of the bridge is poor. We commend government for attempting to imbibe maintenance culture, but once again, one can sense the lack of readiness. Check what happened on Tuesday with just one major downpour, we all woke up with no where to put our legs/vehicle, Lagos was one big gridlock. Now add this nightmare called 3rd Mainland maintainance, what do you get? Did i hear your response?
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Without It's Vast Oil Reserves by arogbowei: 10:51pm On Jun 27, 2008
Our leaders are our problem, nothing more. Without oil, Nigeria will find it tough initially, but will pull out stronger and more viable. Why? Then, the much talked about restructuring and true federalism will then be practiced. As for me i can't wait to hear that all the wells are dried. It will mean bye bye to bad governance, welcome to prudent leadership.
BusinessRe: How To Maintain A Balance Between Saving, Investing And Living Well by arogbowei: 10:41pm On Apr 11, 2008
Striking a healthy balance between saving for rainy days and investing is a challenge to all, but one can still come off living a healthy life, while investing. How? You could spread your entire income, and use percentage to divide. One of my financial advisers said dedicate 60%, of your income for upkeep and other sundry expenses. Then 10% for long time investing, 10% for charity, then 20% for medium term investing.

With that one would not appear to be mean to ones friends, relations and oneself.
LiteratureRe: Writers' Block And Inspiration by arogbowei: 9:59pm On Apr 06, 2008
Dear, it happen to all writers at some point in time, the annoying thing is that it happens at times when you could not afford a break, particularly when you need to beat deadlines.

At such times i go swimming, exerting every fiber of my body and mind. It has worked for me that way. Sincerely, Don Williams doesn't help in my own case, it only bring back images, though some senior colleagues recommended it.

I'm sure, you'll find what works best for you, keep on looking.
TV/MoviesRe: Most Beautiful Movies You've Watched? by arogbowei: 11:16pm On Apr 04, 2008
My favorite for now is the THE NOTEBOOK. It taught powerful lesson in self sacrificing love. I am recommending it to all N'Landers.

Then Lord of The Ring is also incredible.
Dating And Meet-up ZoneRe: Matured Virgins: Looking For Husbands by arogbowei: 11:03pm On Apr 04, 2008
desperate situation requires desperate measures, pls expand the search, for this is a desperate situation, hearts/lives are involved.
Igalla,Nupe, Kanuri and Tiv animists willing/unwilling to become Catholics should be included.
Even cattle rearers from Niger/Chad should be considered. Let's not limit the search at all.

KEEP ON LOOKING AND YOU SHALL FIND,
KEEP ON SEARCHING AND YOU SHALL DISCOVER,
KEEP ON SEEKING AND YOU SHALL SEE,
KEEP ON KNOCKING AND IT SHALL BE OPENED.
