comparing PS2 to PS3 is pure inferiority complex. If u don't have money to buy PS3, just stick to your obsolete life and enjoy it, but don't come here to give us any injury in our brain. I have been trying to think for few hours to see how I can compare the two, the only answer I am getting is 'Dude, are u insane?' , lolz |
iPhone is beyond just a phone, it is a mini-computer. Whatever u can not do with an with a computer is what u can not do with an iPhone. iPhone and Android are beyond what u can describe when it comes to phone. The only thing an iPhone use to surpass Android is the option of more apps. |
Oh djunit1 that's u?! So, some other old timer are still in the house. I just remember if he had given your answer or something similar, he would have gotten it. I remember the way I studied this forum as if I was to take exam on it. I crammed almost all the visa interviews and reviewed everything at home before my interview. So, I can still remember almost all the visa interview of last year from gongo aso, oyewoles, nethacker, How is life treating u over there? |
Congrats Cutegirly. Welcome to Obamaland. @Adolite, sorry about that. That's pathetic. I feel the woman got u from the first question. She just used the stupid FORTRAN question as a veil to deny u. You answered the question by letting her know how good the school is (which is fine), but u did not link it to Nigeria in any way. Please house, don't ever miss any opportunity to link yourself back home. If u like get lost when get to Yankee, but link yourself back to Naija in most of the questions. On the Fortran question, always remember that u are going to study. You want to become a student which means u have not mastered everything. U can easily let her know that, one of the reasons u are going for further knowledge is to have answers to this question and many more and use the knowledge to help Nigeria in combating the cyber crime in the banking sector. Even professors will still check books to confirm one or two things. Always remember u are not a human encyclopedia. You can never have answers to their questions because their is no area of study, but u have to be smart in answering it. If u have taken your time to read all the post here, there was a guy they ask square root of maybe 69 or something (I cant remember the exact question). He said he cant answer now but if given time to study he will surely answer it. They gave him his visa |

@myforumid3; Idaho is cool. Thanks menh! @Adolite; its all yours by His grace. @Nairaspace; Keep the good work my brother. God bless u |
@Saylawchar, I just sent u an email. U can add me on facebook. I don't really use yahoo messenger. @imperiouxx, U are welcome |
fun2sho:I will advise that u re-schedule the appointment. 17th is still far to me. If u have any doubts before u face the consular, it will definitely affect your confidence (which to me is the most important thing, and God ofcourse). U have the right to resume 2 weeks after resumption. I got my visa 3 days after my school resumed. Though, I didn't sleep 5 more nights in Naija (got it on Wed, jet out Monday morning, lolz). @Saylawchar, u are welcome |
I was really sad when I received a mail that this thread has been locked. Thank God it is unlocked. I wouldn't go back on the reasons why it was locked (not to draw anyone back), but I must say this is the most productive thing I have ever come across on the internet. I and my family got to Yankee because of God and zillions of info on this thread. I know more than 10 people (that I have their contact) that are in the US just because of the info they got from this thread ( even a girl in my school). The fact is that some of us had cross the bridge and we would like to see more of u. Yankee is the real thing, no two ways about it. Having been here for a year, I can beat my chest on that. If u frustrate the forum and they lock it completely, u would have succeeded in killing a lot of dreams. Please, be careful except if u want to pay through your nose for the info u can get for free. Best of luck |
75% of those that cancavssed for Buhari/Bakare are not in Nigeria. Most of them live in a country where there is electricity 24hrs/day, where there is job opportunity beckoning at you, where you can start your cars at 2am and go to anywhere u want without fear of running into a pothole or one askari harrassing you because of 20 naira, where owning a car is not a luxury or having a Blackberry/smartphone a show-off. They have seen great changes and sweet life. They have seen how PDP boys are lavishing Nigerian's wealth on the street of NY, at Dubai, London, and in many other countries. They know that GEJ is just a front for PDP to continue to have thier ways. While none of them have any personal grudge against GEJ (because they know he is just a victim of this circumstance), they are scared of him being impeached in the next two years and the OBJ boys continue flexing. You can throw your hands in the air and scatter your legs to dance and mock those that clamour for the progress of Naija, the ball is now in your court. Now I know why the General cried. I pray God give GEJ the COURAGE to step into this shoe and lead us right. Amen |
@herself, waiting till master is not a bad idea. You even stand a better chance of getting assisstanship as a master student than as an undergraduate student. From the tone of your message, I can see that u are a little bit confused about which program to go for. Perhaps, u want to go into nursing because u will easily get a job and a your green card. That is not a bad idea anyway, but as Ojap as CORRECTLY AND PROFESSIONALLY advised, u have so little chance of getting admitted into nursing as an international student. I was straightly told by the admission officer of my school that they consider their student first for the health programs, then if there is still available space they will give it to international students. Not to discourage u anyway, most of their children here don't go to school. They have security fund to keep them moving, so they really don't need education to survive unlike us in naija. On the Geology career, just to let u know that because of the global warming, the world is now paying attention to environmentalists. In the next few years, environmentalists are going to be sorted for like the computer gurus are searched for everywhere. UN signed 30 billion dollars into tackling environmental problem due global warming last year. Guess, who will have direct access to the fund - environmentalists. The joy now is that there are limited environmentalists in the world. So, u will stand at a very greater advantage, if u have your degree now before a lot of people start going to study Environmental related courses in the universities, and we now have more than enough qualified graduates in that field. |
denio215:Simply fill another one. You can fill and submit as many as u want, it is the one u take to the embassy that the Consular will run on his/her computer but be careful sha. |
All the options given by Superbrain are good as well, but becareful with Arizona because of their new immigration law. |
herself:If u are think about cheap schools and easy economy, I will suggest u focus on schools in Northwestern States like Oregon, Idaho, Washington (not the DC, there are two Washington), Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. There are cheap schools there and the living expenses is appreciably okay compare to the Eastern States (Chicago, New York, Maryland and the likes). I can confidently beat my chest that all Universities in the US meet the minimum standard. That means, you don't have to worry about the quality of education u will get (even though it is always good to go to the top schools if u have your way). Tennessee and Oklahoma states are also ok for new comers to begin with. When u find your feet, u can move to any States of your choice (afterall, your visa cover for all of that, lolz). One beautiful thing about those states is that there is little or no competition compare to the Eastern states. The choice is all yours! Best of luck |
anfanio:A very good question |
Superbrain:I just sent u a mail, but I don't use yahoo messenger. I can't remember the last time I opened it. It seems its outdated. @herself, I will advice u enter with Biological Sciences, then cross to Nursing in your 3rd year. Reason being that 1) Nursing is too expensive and there is no scholarship for it because they know u are going to get a job after graduation. 2) It is very difficult to get admitted into Nursing schools (even though it is expensive, people still rush into it). The classes u will take in your first 2 or 3 years in Biological sciences is the same thing as Nursing. As a matter of fact, nobody is able to differentiate between a Nursing student and a Biological Student until the 3rd year. Just a piece of advice anywayz. Best of luck |
I can't believe I have not visited this forum in the last 3-4 months. Well, that's life sha. When u conquer one river there is always another one waiting for u. Kudos to those keeping the fire burning. This is absolutely the best and easiest forum to get any info on student visas to Yankee. Hoping to see more Nairalanders here. Remember to go to the embassy with Your Mouth, Your Confidence, and Your God. Even if u forget your documents, never forget any of those 3. They count more than your bank statement. When u get the visa (which u will surely get by His Grace), carry your thick blanket with u. The snow no dey gree go ooo, lolz Wishing all applicants the best of luck. |
^^^^^^^He is pulling off his shell |
switch47:I am getting to where am going gradually - working on your psychology. You know I told you I have watched you for three years. When a Knight fork your castle with a Bishop watching from afar, you know a bigger enemy is in your territory. Let see how this goes. |
switch47:I have watched this Switch47 guy passionately hating on Chelsea for more than 3 years now, if the guy had applied the passion into something positive in his life I bet nobody can stand in his way to greatness. Unfortunately, he never see beyond hating Chelsea, and he remains on the same spot - posting their downfall every weekend while the boys keep making their millions and the club keep growing. Can u see life? The Secret of Masterminding is only reveal to few |
I know there are prophecy that are for destruction in the Bible, but with prayers a lot of them were averted. Nineveh was doomed but God had mercy on them. Our God is still a mercy God, and that is more than sufficient reason to know He can help us. Alarming prophecy is not always good because it is not everybody that has grown spiritually to know what to do, that is why most good prophets always as us to pray against evil and don't really tell us the full information. I am not going against the poster's vision but the most important is to find the solution. Remember, when heaven falls, it falls on us all. |
Why is it that you guys don't see a good vision about Nigeria. All the prophecies are always about doom. Why won't you see a house burning in your dreams when you slept seeing a house burning due to bomb blast. You need to go back to your sleep and dream good ones, and you need to go right now!!! |
In addition to all that has been said, whenever a man sins, something must die, be it spiritual or physical death (Romans 6:22-23). Since God won't go against His Words (Matt 24:35), Christ had to lay down His life to fulfill that Word and be justified. However, the supremacy of God is proven in the fact that CHRIST ROSE AFTER THE THIRD DAY (Rom 14:9). So, in actual sense, He did not die but came to fulfill and justify that the wages of sin is death, and blood is the atonement for the sin (as proven in the earlier posts). God still does not accept human being for sacrifices, but each time we sin devil cries for the sinners' blood, and the blood of Jesus shed on the cross of calvary came to satisfy the cry of the devil (that is for those who believe and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal saviour) |
Superbrain:Happy birthday mate. Many happy returns |
@Sanciro, sorry about the denial, but i think u still have a lot of hope. If I am to review your interview, the guy denied u because of two things (I guess, anyway). sanciro:If you check the two bolded responses up there. 1. The 4 schools you applied to are not really top schools in US (this might not be the reason, but I am convince it will be part of it). He will think you just want to get the admission to run anyway. He didn't ask you to mention the names of the schools, you could have save yourself by restricting the answer to "4". That won't be bad. 2. and which is very much important. This is where you have the opportunity to get your score back. YOU DID NOT LINK YOUR RESEARCH INTEREST TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF NIGERIA IN ANY WAY. That would have helped you, because he will think you have passion about coming back (of which we know, we have all torn the Nigeria Passport immediately we hear "you are welcome to the united states" lolz). I might not be 100% right though. Most importantly, everything still boil down to the Ultimate Decider (Baba God Himself). Nobody is an expert in this game. I wish you luck |
aroy1:It only took me to JFK in New York, she had already booked another flight for O'Hare Airport Chicago. The flying was very very smooth most especially the landing. It was a perfect experience. But, as per the services inside the plane, it wasn't really a very good one compare to Delta or KLM (but i think the price speaks the difference, lolz). Congrats seniorak47, come to yankee with the 'senior'and drop the ák47'ooo, lolz |
OjaP:Sorry about that. Two guys were denied and got their visas within thesame week, so your hope is still very bright. @guys. Yanke is real oooooooooooooooooooooooo. Am live in Chicagooooooooo!!!!!!. Seeing my family already. I will be moving to school b4 weekend. God is indeed Great |
aroy1:Its JFK (New York) enroute Casablanca (Morocco). Its 895Dollars. My wife booked it Royal Air Maroc. Check www.CheapAir.com |
Superbrain:@Superbrain, Everything is set, I am already in an hotel in Lasgidi waiting for my flight early momo tomorrow. as a matter of fact, i am using the internet for the last time in Naija in a long time (at least 2 years). Hope to catch up with you one of these summer days. safe bro |
^^^^^^, thanks my guy. I will be a fool and an ingrate to forget Nethacker, Oyewoles, Femilangy, Gongo Aso (gongo tun ti so o), Superbrain and Godeagle (my paddy from "preparing for GRE" section), and also my wife - the greatest woman I have ever met. (Thank you honey, the e-marriage is over, lolz) |
I am glad to inform the house that I was at US embassy Abuja this morning and I came out with the GREEN ticket. This is just absolutely the work of the LIVING GOD. Firstly, God held the dreaded Chinese woman to biometric. There were three counters there, counter 7, 8, and 9. I was trying to avoid counter 9 because his questions were too much. Infact there was a guy who went out twice when the guy called for next applicant and everybody was laughing. I even thought he will not get it, but he is on his way to yankee too.lolz Anyway, the guy at Counter 9 called me and my interview is as follows; CO: Good morning Me: Morning CO: Can I have your papers (I passed them to him) CO: So, you are going to, (I cut in and mentioned the name of the school) CO: OK, i can see CO: Do you have anybody in US Me: Yes, my wife is also studying at XYZ University (Masters) CO: Why didn't u apply to that school (My school is different from that of my wife) Me: The school is not offering my course and their research area does not align with my career objective which is global climate change CO: Are u and your wife coming back? Me: Yes CO: To come and do what? Me: She will come and apply the knowledge to help Nigeria in , (i just frame up one research area that I know is a bit closer to her course. I am not even sure whether what I said was right or wrong, but I said something sha), and i stated my career objective as well Co: I can see you have two children with her (my case is critical o, lolz) Me: Yes please Co: Are u paying their medical bills because international students must cater for their own medicals Me: Yes Co: Can i see the receipt of the bill (This is where the whaala started from) Me: I brought out my wife's bank statement Co: No, I want to see the bill Me: I showed him my father-in-law's bank statement Co: No, i want to see the receipt (Inside of me, i said i don enter am today) Co: How long will it take you to get me the receipts Me: May be a week or two (At this point, I was just talking, i didn't know what I was saying again) Co: Brought out one sheet, and said I am going to ask you to come back whenever you get the receipt Me: But the school has resumed already (My schl resumed on Monday, 16th) Co: I know Me: (I was looking at him trying to fill the form for me) Co: Ok, can i see your transcript, i mean any test, exams, GRE, GMAT Me: I brought them out in their shinning armour (lolz) Co: How many schools did u apply to? Me: Two, i mentioned their names and the course I applied for Co: I can see u have graduated since 2004, what have you been doing? Me: I told him Co: (he started typing and checking somethings, at this point I thought i have the visa, but for where) I can see you have two children Me: (I was becoming tired, why going back to the children again, abi na whaala to be a father of two) Yes Co: and the two of them are US citizen Me: No, only one Co: But you wrote here that they are both US citizen Me: No, check again Co: He checked and said Ok, but when did your wife leave for US, and how old are the children Me: My wife left in Jan (she was 3 months pregnant b4 she left). I told him the age of the kids Co: Ok, I am going to take the risk of given you the visa Me: Thank you Co: Clipped one green ticket to my passport, returned all the other documents except my passport, and gave me the green ticket, and asked me to pick my passport on Friday. I must tell you, I did not hide the joy right from the cubicle, everybody know I am going to yankee. My lesson here is that no matter how hard it appears, stick to the truth. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, be honest and let God do the rest. My case is just that of God and God (and I tried to be honest as much as I know). So, I enter yankee be that o, who else wanna come on board, lolz |
