Which good platform has lots of wallets and cheaper swap rate please.

How i trade is by staying on a stable coin like USDC and swap to a volatile coin when it's increasing, set alarm for when it decrease pass certain percentage, then I swap back to the stable coin therefore making profit.
Is this a good model?

Business / Re: CBN: Why We Banned Cryptocurrency In Nigeria by asco15(m): 12:23pm On Feb 08
I really like the innovation of blockchain and cryptocurrency, it has so many advantages but one, it's allows anonymity which means that an unknown person can send money to another unknown person without trace. Most illegal activities were track based on their money transfer activities and cryptocurrency gives them the privilege to do transaction without any government noticing. That's very very bad.
My thought is, since the world cannot stop cryptocurrency, they should find a way to create unique user Identity so that a transaction can be traced to a person. That way, we can track who and who is sponsoring illegal activities.
Just know that a world where no one is accountable, no regulations or law will be an unlivable world for all. Everything will become jungle justice / survival of the wicked. You and I definitely don't want such a world.

Business / How To Make FX Transfer In Gtbank To Another Customer by asco15(m): 2:40pm On Oct 12, 2020
I have always gotten inflow into my GTB Dom account and will simply sell it to those who need Dollar by making FX transfer to them.
Recently I can't do that, they said it's the new Policy that I can't send fx to another customer. It's so annoying because they want me to sell my dollar to them at official rate but they will never sell to me at official rate.
I'm currently looking for a way around this new policy.
Two options I have is to
1) send the money into my dollar master card and buy BTC, then resell the BTC at local rate on luno.com or any local BTC exchange.
2) send the money into my dollar master card and use an escrow service to sell it to another buyer.
3) check if other banks still allow fx transfer and dump GTB completely.

If you are having same issue, what's your way around it. or which option do you think I go with?

Chad to stop participating in regional fight against armed groups
President Idris Deby says Chadian troops will no longer take part in military operations outside the country's borders.

President Idriss Deby has said Chadian troops will no longer participate in military operations outside the country's borders as part of national army campaigns against armed groups active in the Lake Chad region and the Sahel.

"Our troops have died for Lake Chad and the Sahel. From today, no Chadian soldiers will take part in a military mission outside Chad," he told national TV on Thursday.

Deby's remarks echoed frustration at perceived failures by allies to do more in the fight against armed groups, and came as Chadian armed forces ended a major offensive against Boko Haram in the Lake Chad region.

On Thursday, the army claimed that 1,000 fighters had been killed in the operation. Fifty-two of the army's troops were also killed.

The offensive was launched after at least 92 Chadian troops were killed in a Boko Haram raid on a base at Bohoma on March 23 - the biggest one-day military loss in the country's history.

OP, you should back your claim with the 11gb you received as text message.....

Here's the message after subscribing on 28th January, 2020.
And the next message that I don't have a data plan is on the 5th, February after the network on the SIM was restored.

But she sees that i had internet connection all those days it was working.
Business / How Airtel Is Owing Me N4k And Still Don't Want To Pay Me After Several Complain by asco15(m): 8:07pm On Feb 08, 2020
Funny but that's the very truth.

I carry my own leg waka go Airtel kiosk on the 28th January, 2020 and registered a new Airtel SIM card.
After that, i recharged N4k and used it to subscribe for the N4k 11GB data plan.
Everything was working fine and i was happily managing my data o. And i know i still have over 10GB remaining plus the 11GB bonus for double data.

Fast forward, on Saturday, 1st February, my network just disappeared completely.
I used another guy Airtel line to call their customer care number, they said they will resolve it after 18 hours.
After 24 hours, it wasn't still working.
I waited until 4th February, then i went to their physical customer care office to complain. The lady that attended to me said there was an issue somewhere after the registration and that she will escalate the matter.
I left there disappointed and not knowing what to do next.

On the 5th, the network on the sim was restored but my data plan was gone.
I went back to the customer care office and complained again and they said they are on top of the matter.
I complaint to their call center and even on Twitter, all to no avail.

I wanted to forget about it but it's just painful that I will just dash a multi-billion dollar company like Airtel my 4k o.

So right now, Airtel Nigeria is owing me N4k i used for data subscription and they want me to forget about it.

Fellow NL, what should I do abeg.
Should I sue them and claim $1M for damages this has caused to my business?

Who has experienced this and how did you go about it?

The first phase of the recruitment is handled by Nigerian office then if you pass you would be invited for a Skype interview with the project manager in the country you you will be working with.

Ok.
Thank you very much.

Please share with us if you come across any related openings.

This days I enjoy frontend more than backend, my dream job will be to get a foreign remote software job with focus on frontend development using Angular, Vue or React in preferential order

After service, I submitted a lot of applications online, I was called for interviews and after that, I got a job not too long.
So my candid advice is for you to apply online on jobberman, etc. Then prepare very well for interviews.
I noticed that passing interview questions can be different from just your regular coding. So go online and answer interview questions for practice. Try pluralsight IQ.

Hi asco15,

I am a full stack software developer with more than 4 years experience skilled in C#, ASP.NET CORE, ASP.NET MVC, PHP, jquery, ajax, bootstrap, html, css, js, MySQL and MSSQL.

I work remotely for a UK based company that builds Software for the maritime industry, it has been a very nice experience because of the way work is planned, shared and executed.

I don't get the pay check in $ because they have a working space here in Nigeria where we come and work from that handles the administration and payment stuffs while we support maritime software in other countries, have been working for the last 2 months on an app used by our client in Greece.

In all is a better to work for Global companies than Nigerian.

You have created a thread

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Was the recruitment done by the local administrator or foreign team.

Programming / Working Or Looking For Foreign Remote Software Developer Job As A Nigerian? by asco15(m): 9:11pm On Jul 26, 2019
Hello NL,
I don't usually create thread but I am very serious with this.

I'm full-time software developer working with a local software company in Lagos. I have been coding web applications for about 3 years now mainly using Angular, Vue or React for frontend and C# Asp.netcore and NodeJs for backend.

Away from introduction, I got a contract job from a foreign company as a remote software developer this year and I work with them for 5 months before the contract ended. But I must confess that no matter how poor their pay is, since it's in $ dollar it's always worth it compared to what you will get doing even more tasks here in Nigeria.

I have been looking for a similar job for a while now and all to no avail but I know NL is a big community and we will definitely have few software developers who work remotely too and may have info that can help me and others that are interested.

So this thread is for Nigerian software developers working remotely for foreign companies. Please share with us on how you got the job, the process and what we can do to also get there. Share companies hiring remote and how to get the job.
If you can recommend directly too will be good.

We will like to hear from you.

You will be helping a soul.

Thank you in anticipation.

Politics / Why Is President Buhari Absent At Jonathan’s Book Launch by asco15(m): 4:49pm On Nov 20, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari failed to show up at the public book presentation and formal launch of “My Transition Hours” written by former President Goodluck Jonathan that is ongoing at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton Abuja.

The occasion has attracted many serving and past West African leaders or their representatives but President Buhari is being represented by Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.

The president was listed as the Special Guest of Honour.

Is there anything he's hiding from the opposition that will be present at the occasion?

Politics / Man In Aso Villa Not Buhari, We’ll Shock Nigerians With His Identity – Fani-kayo by asco15(m): 10:09am On Nov 12, 2018
Femi-Fani Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation has insisted that the person occupying the Presidential Villa is not President Muhammadu Buhari.

Fani-Kayode said Nigerians would be shocked in 2019 when the true identity of the president would be uncovered.

He was reacting to the ongoing crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to the ex-Minister, “If APC provokes me again I will tell the whole world what we were cooking that got the house burnt”- Gov. Amosun.

“If I say what I know about APC Nigerians will burn down AsoRock within 24 hours”- Gov. Okorocha.

“There is something rotten in the APC that stinks worse than a dead body.

“For example the true identity of the man in the Villa that claims to be Buhari will only be made known after he is defeated and steps down from power.

“When that happens, Nigerians will be shocked to the marrow. In 2015, I warned about his fake certificate. Today I am warning about his fake identity.”
