biina: I gave my opinion and have simply asked you to provide yours.
If it is removed, then how do you protect the interest of those not in power? militancy? Well my opinion is same as yours. The fact that the head of a goverment arm is from my area does not mean my interest is protected. That is what the legislators are supposed to do.After all goodluck jonathan is the vp did that stop the militancy from his area. |

biina: Federal Character should remain in the constitution as its existence does not necessitate its enforcement. We should be able to overlook federal character if the person being appointed is the best choice.
The federal character was introduce to protect the interest of all, that none feel marginalized simply because the president is not from his state or region. The unfortunate truth is that the fact that someone from your hometown is in power, does not guarantee that he would act in the best interest of the common man from his town.Federal character is based on your ethnicity, and does not always reflect your allegiance. As a democratic nation, we are still infants. The various arms of government are far from representing the wishes of the populace. To take of the leash on some of them is premature.
If it is abolished, reintroducing it when needed may not be easy, as by then the damage might be beyond repair. Were you not the one that wrote the above? So what interest is been protected? |

mikeansy: I don't think the North necessarily benefits from the oil in the Delta
Rather the Northern Elite has been the beneficiaries and as such have benefited even more than anybody from Oloibiri in the Bayelsa village where oil was first discovered.
I believe the greatest tragedy of the situation is that the South has been unable to isolate the Northern Elite from the ordinary Northerner. The Northern Elite is nothing without the ordinary Northerner, and so long as the ordinary Northerner who suffers as much from poverty as those in the South do not realise that they are just being exploited by their own Elite Class, the Northern Elite will continue to hold the Nation hostage.
All we ask of the Elite Notherners is to Educate their own people and stop exploiting them. Gbam!!! |

KnowAll: North, most backward –Aliero
Looks like Anambra are in a competition with the north to see who can bee more backwards us or them. By adopting Igbo as the language of commerce u are only going to breed a generation of illetrate english speakers. When the whole world is learning how to speak english even spanish and french are dicting their own languages to learn english, Anambra is turning the clock back learning a language that is only spoken in small enclave in Nigeria. It would have done Anambra more good if they made Mandarin the language of choice in anambra state going by the volume of business transcation between Anambra state and china. [/quot

KnowAll: I will tell u a little history about the Yorubas
1. They are the most civilised balck race on earth. If only they built boats like the british they would have conquared the world.
2. They are one of the few black races that wore clothes - aso oke, there are so many tribes that dont wear cloths working naked all over the place. There are some that tie wrapper has cloth they know themselves.
3.They eat proper food, there are some tribes that eat people u will not catch any yoruba do that.
4. They are the only black race that after 400 years of slavery their customs and traditions still survive in brazil, cuba, southern Southern USA around sea island of the coast of America. You cannot beat that - that is culture and every yoruba man must be proud of it.
For mordern Nigeria to reduce our monarch to a pitable begger is a slap to every youba person. Civilized and urbanized are 2 different things |

ezeagu: I remember when we had chickens and there was an unusual one we saw one day walking around with them, we paid no notice, until we heard the cry of the mother hen. We had then realised that the extra chicken was not a chicken at all, but a bird of prey, it had been acting as one of the chickens and had managed to make off with one of her chicks.
Ah well we would have eaten the chick when it was older anyway.
