PoliticsRe: Ikpeazu Presents Made-In-Aba Shoes To Enelamah (Pics) by asorocker: 9:17am On Dec 29, 2015
Aba has conservatively about 100000 shoe makers, if each of these were to make a very high quality shoe a day at cost of N4000 besides other products they make that would amount to about N400m revenue daily.

Further more if the federal government even though having no investment or encouragement for these shoe makers take a VAT of 5% and if the state government take a personal income tax of 10% that brings the cost to about N4200 and N4600 respectively.

If you add the retailer and transportation cost of N400 every thing adds up to about N5000 which most people can afford for shoes and which is cheaper for imported shoes of same quality.

N500M GDP a day multiplied by 25 business days a month is approximately N 12.5B a month.
For 12 months that would yield more than N150B every year.

The federal government will take their VAT of about N750m for not doing anything. While the state government take about N1.5B for promoting and creating the enabling environment and the hard working shoe makers have a profit of about N1.5b for 100000 shoe makers averaging
150000 for one shoe maker

This is exclusive of the sale of other leather works and ladies shoes that aba is known world wide for.

This amount being very conservative because some shoes will sell above that amount depending on finishing and packaging.

Aba is simply operating below its capacity and potential or possibility of a leakage somehow.

Why should i spend huge amount of funds to acquire Kelvin Klein, Gucci, LV, Burberry etc. When i can get the same or even higher quality in Aba with a lesser price.. Handmade shoe people..
Aba should do what China did, clone the best names and offer the same quality at a cheaper price
PoliticsRe: Ikpeazu Presents Made-In-Aba Shoes To Enelamah (Pics) by asorocker: 7:43am On Dec 29, 2015
My suggestion is to take these shoe samples to the developed countries like Britain, United States, Canada, Germany etc, they will carry out a quality of products test on these shoes and once these shoes pass the test an export corridor like the AGOA would be opened between Aba and the United States, Britain, Canada and Germany.

Aba would now compete with China for American shoes market.

Quality assurance should be taken very seriously,
Training and capacity building for the skilled workers, provision of capital at very little interest rates for purchase of equipment and machines.
The construction of industrial clusters where these things can be made and packaged very well for export.

The access to the sea via aba sea port or akwa ibom sea port for easy export of products and import of raw materials.

If Aba gets 10% of the shoe industry of the developed world that would be making more than 100 million shoes coupled with the ones they make for local consumption it would become a real shoe cluster.

Shoes will become to aba what watches became to Switzerland

God bless ikpeazu

Even if Nnamdi kanu called niger deltans cowards and so what? What of the people who called niger deltans drunk fishermen odechukwu, dullard, and called their women shepopotamus, umbrella and other derogatory names.

Niger deltans should wake up and do the needful, your oil has been taken over by thieves, the same thieves pushed your son out of office to install a demented, illiterate soldier as their leader instead of a PhD holder.

The same people are on the verge of sending your daughter deziani to jail, your son Goodluck Jonathan to prison and your defenders tompolo and Asari to the dungeon.
I repeat niger deltans should get up from their slumber and be wise.

Have you bordered trace where the sabotage is coming from?...

You claim the airport is tactically abandoned by this government?... tell me one other project across Nigeria that has not been tactically abandoned since 2015 because of paucity of funds?... how much was budgeted for this very project in the 2015 by GEJ in his 2015 budget?... Yet you conviniently place the blame on a new fundless government that inherited the abandoned project.

The persecution complex and victim mentality exhibited by Igbos across Nigeria has become an irritating nag, nobody takes this Igbo immaturity serious anymore. And yeah, the nation is not going to be balkanised since that is typically the target of all this nagging.
The victim mentality is real, ask the alaba and ladipo traders.

And an illiterate is someone who doesn't know how to read and write. It implies the person who doesn't know how to read, this fellow don't know how to read about referendum and write things about referendum.

As far as topics concerning referendums are discussed he is an ignorant

When Israelites where in Bondage for about 32yrs in Egypt, they cried to God for help. God sent a helper called Moses. Moses tried so many times to liberate them from Bondage, yet he failed. At the appointed time, they were freed from slavery. While still moving out of Egypt, the Egyptians didn't want to go down without a fight. God miraculously drowned them all. Despite all these, the Mixed Multitude amongst them always caused confusion. Making the Isrealites wish that they were still at Egypt. God was annoyed!!
Nigerians were under the Bondage of PDP for 16yrs. God sent a helper in PMB after years of failure. PDP almost caused a problem with Orubebe, God defeated him! But just 7months into his regim, Nigerians are wishing that they were still ruled over by PDP. Oblivious of the fact that before you repair an inferior house, it must be destroyed first. But God willing, we will reach our promise land just like Caleb and Joshua did!! Amen. Moderators. Push this post forward!!

Group raises alarm over blockade of Onitsha Bridge Head by soldiers
The International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) has raised alarm over the seeming blockade caused by soldiers at the Onitsha Bridge Head leading to suffocation and serious traffic jam with untold hardship on the travelers.
In a press statement titled “Second civil war at Onitsha Niger Bridge head: Hausa Fulani soldiers on rampage against Igbo and South –South Christmas returnees” released in Onitsha yesterday, signed by Chairman, Board of Trustees of Intersociety, Emeka Umeagbalasi, the group accused soldiers from 302 Artillery Regiment Onitsha of using the Pro-Biafran peaceful protests as cover to deal with Igbo travelers.
The statement noted that millions of home bound people of the south east and south have been trapped at the bridge head while new born children, nursing mothers and elderly people are blocked and made to suffer and suffocate few miles to their ancestral homes.
“Since Wednesday, 23rd December 2015, soldiers from the 302 Artillery Regiment , Onitsha had blocked the Onitsha Niger Bridge Head and deliberately subjected Christmas returnees to excruciation pains and hardships under the guise of checking and spotting members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and MASSOB to the extent that livestock and perishable food items worth millions of naira were lost. In another field trip of 27th December 2015 at the same spot, the Onitsha end of the Bridge head was deliberately and completely blocked by the same soldiers.”
The group in the statement also slammed Governor Willie Obiano for his seeming silence and inaction over the situation and noted that no “No sensible, capable and competent governor folds his hands and watches his people returning for seasonally important feast like Christmas being made to sleep by the bush sides or inside their vehicles for many hours, if not for whole day. This is the greatest threat against their rights to ethnic identity, existence, and social development and cohabitation, enshrined and recognized in the 1999 Constitution and the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights of 1981 domesticated by Nigeria in 1983” the statement noted.
They called for the immediate decongestion of the bridge to allow for free flow of traffic for the smooth passage of innocent travelers.
Efforts made to contact the Commander, 302 Artillery Regiment, Col. Issah Abdullahi for comments proved abortive as calls made to his cell phone were not answered.

South East stakeholders at the airport have consequently appealed to South East Governors Forum to equip the airport with vehicles that will convey passenger from the landing ground to the arrival hall, as well as other facilities, as the present condition of the airport was an embarrassment to the entire South East and Nigeria at large.
what on earth stops the east from taking over this Airport and turning it into an Aviation Hub a Boing 747 can be leased from a leasing company or out rightly bought for between $24 M to $400 M and weekly trips to London, Dubai , China, South Africa can be done , while Local Trips to other airports in Nigeria will also be done.

Most igbos all over the world will prefer flying the eastern airline than any other airline, The igbos built imo airport single handedly and shoudl take it back from the Federal Government which they handed over the Airport in the 80s during the military rule.

Igbo Nation with more than 45 million wel travelled population can run a very good airline and use Enugu and Owerri as ist hub just like emirates has Dubai airport as its hub and Etihad has Doha Airports as its hub
