Nobody expects yorubas to fight for any other group rather yorubas should fight for themselves. Abiola was imprisoned and murdered yet yorubas didnt fight for him. Awolowo was jailed and nobody fought for him, at a time all yoruba generals (generals indeed) were jailed an yoruba nation remained inactive ,in my analysis about Nigerias future i dont factor yorubas , because they really arent measuring up. |
i keep repeating it in this forum that even though the hausa fulani are not always friendly the worst enemies igbos have are the yorubas. i wish the igbos can for once reflect and think deply about their status in nigeria, some few days back ohaneze youths were busy saying no jonathan no nigeria. IGBOS NEVER LEARNT ANY LESSONS FROM THE PAST. as it is now there are 3 options for igbos to keep 1. is to be passive and keep taking the shit from the north, 2.to be reactive and strike back anytime northerners strike at them , 3 to be proactive and pull out igbos from the violent territories in the north. The north as it is , is finished politically and they have nothing else to hold on to except to cause confusion and chaos. The east has everything to gain by maintaining the statusquo of GEJ presidency , backing him or David Mark for 2015 if Nigeria keeps existing . the SS and the MB has this last opportunity the SS to get back their birth right (their oil wealth which has been hijacked and stolen) , the MB has this last chance to brake through from the strangle hold of the norh. either way it isnt going to be a smooth ride for SE , SS and MB. i expect the north for fight back for power through antics like Boko haram e.t.c |
My advice to Nigerians is to maximally enjoy the lies of one indivisible Nigeria and the illusion that they conquered the Biafrans by their military might and strength while it lasts . |
This is a quoted by a renowned author It is better even from the point of survival to fight and be conquered than to surrender without fighting George Orwell Back to the main topic, i searched the net about the much talked about Biafran Technology which kept Biafra going for 30 months and i have this to present. The Nigerian government was faced with two possibilities: (1) A protracted war to recover land and assets, or (2) grant Biafra its independence, and become an insignificant neighbor of the new nation. Nigeria chose to fight. The initial incursions into Biafra were thrown back with massive casualties. While accurate records do not exist, consistent numbers from a low of 20,000 to a high of 75,000 Nigerian soldiers dead are quoted. By July, it was apparent that the Biafrans held the upper hand .Biafra, for its part, knew from Ojukwu on down that failure was not an option. The Nigerian government, from the very beginning, clearly acted in a manner which left little doubt that the war would be a war of civilian attrition in order to destroy the Igbo people. Resources were secondary; this was a war of tribe-against-tribe, for the freedom of a people. Biafran troops slashed forward into Nigeria, and came within 25 miles of the capital of Lagos. Rioting and looting broke out; both the British government and the Johnson administration in Washington informed the Gowon government in Lagos that they should remain in place, rather than evacuate Lagos and surrender to the Biafrans. President Ojukwu was anticipating a quick end to the war. Biafran B-26’s bombed Nigerian advance positions in unopposed daylight raids. Biafran technology was minimal, but the Biafran ‘brain trust’ began to be felt in the form of short-range guided rockets which were used to devastating effect on government positions. It was clear that the Gowon government needed an air force. They were obliged by both Great Britain and the Soviet Union, which sent five MiG-17’s and four Ilushin Il-28 bombers, along with advisors and technicians, to Nigeria. Egyptian and British pilots eagerly flew the MiGs while Nigerian pilots were in training. Great Britain came to the aid of its former colony with small arms, uniforms, transport vehicles and other aid, along with pilots and technicians http://subversify.com/2009/11/06/biafra-a-recent-history/ |
Nigeria has never eally known peace even before its formation in the instigators hausa/fulani 40s there were riots in jos by the same hausa against igbos instigators hausa/fulani 50s there were riots in the North against southerners mainly against independence instigators hausa/fulani 60s there was wetie riots in the west state of emergency and coups and counter coups culminating in the 30 months civil war instigators hausa/fulani 70s there were bloody coups and counter coups instigators hausa/fulani 80s there were Maitasine riots instigators hausa/fulani 90s there Religous riots in kano, bauchi, kaduna coups and attempted coupd instigators hausa/fulani 2000s there were the Sharia Riots and Cartoon Riots instigators hausa/fulani 2010s The Boko Haram riots and blood shedding instigators hausa/fulani 2020s ![]() ![]() The Problem is not Jonathan or GEJ but the presence of a bloody thirsty group that most nigerians do not have an answer for |
if you dont want GEJ why dont you opt out of the union or is any body stopping you they way they are stopping Biafrans. Stop Complaining and seccede please. |
nigerians ever full of excuses and would rather blame their short comings and failure on America, America , Soviet Union and britain helped you in the 60s in the uncivil war and now you have got the united Nigeria you want yet you are blaming them for numerous crises plaguing your union, i think Ameria has got their hands ful on the Economic crises rocking the world than to pull down an already fallen country. |
Nigerians are the hardest people on earth to please, the same people who cried out against Buhari in 1984 , 2003 and 2007 are now embracing him (height of hypocrisy). The same Buhari people called for his head during PTF is now a messiah. If Buhari had won the election and started arresting corrupt people everywhere the same funny people would have being crying all over the world and forming useless bodies to gain world sympathy. GEJ should just forget this set of nigerians and focus on more important things |
"In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problems; government is the problem."qoute from reagan dont wait for Government to solve your problem be proactive |
@ poster kettykin is right Nzeogwu struck because of the crises in western region , if he did not strike at that time , that crises would have destroyed the western region . |
@ poster you must be a hard core ignoramus , has it not been told you that igbos own 73 % of the landed property in Abuja or do you still want to continue wallowing in self imposed ignorance, you can confirm this from El rufai , at least he is fulani and not igbo. you can ask Fashola how much landed property igbos own in Lagos |
fighting a war and loosing is one thing . Fighting using food as a means of war is another thing . Even the war in libya and other places food was not used as a weapon. Having your landed property which you left in the face of victimisation and ethnic cleansing being declared abandoned property is another thing. Being given 20 pounds or 5000 naira in place of the billions you had in bank is another thing. what Nigerian fail to understand or comprehend is how come the country has not made any meaningful progress since 1970 despite that the country has not fought any war since then. The one tha baffles is most is that the so called victors in the civil war are not even better than the loosers 41 years after the war. The loosers now produce more garduates (human Capital) than the victors. The loosers own more landed properties than those who confisticated their property. The loosers command more per capital income than the so called victors. |
The south west is suffering from the after eefect of their lukewarmness and chameeolnic nature, after voicing out Operation Totality to pre empt GEJ to run ,they eventually showed their true nature by supporting Buhari and Ribadu . Now that the have found them selves in the relegation waters on Nigerian Political wilderness they have no option than to swim in it , by 2015 if they still play the same pattern of game Awolow played and Tinubu is playing they will end up in the second or third division of Nigerias Political game like their eastern neighbours played in the 70s |
@lagcity you can satisfy your curiosity from here http://www.nigerdeltacongress.com/barticles/biafran_war_and_nigerian_governm.htm In fact, the world super powers – the United States of America, the defunct USSR and United Kingdom, in alliance with the Arab countries especially, Egypt collaborated and fought the war for Nigeria. Some of these expatriate participants were afraid that people of eastern Nigeria, with superior intellect, commerce resource and abundant mineral resources would pose a major problem to their domination of the African raw material based economy. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/589221.stm Newly-released secret British papers show how the Biafran civil war which nearly destroyed the Nigerian federal state 30 years ago, turned into a triangular big-power contest between the United Kingdom, France and the Soviet Union. |
Atleast Diya cried his way out and ghadaffy could not. i am still surprised at the kind of Generals that Nigeria had in its army , one has been wondering of recent why Nigeria never went to war with cameroun over Bakassi but i now realise why when i understand that most of Nigeria's Generals where really knidergatten Generals (baby/infant generals ) who do not understand War. A time came in Nigeria about 18 Generals of Yoruba extraction were languishing in jail at such time the yorubas were busy doing what they know how to do best , waiting for another Nzeogwu to strike whom they would betray. little wonder yorubas of all Nigerian southern tribes are not willing to seccede from nigeria. |
What in essence can the Northern Muslims do now that the Niger Deltans (thier former Allies in the Biafran war ) are waking up and their fromer slaves ( middle beltans) are rebelling from them. There are 2 options for Boko Harams to either concede defeat or continue in their hit and run attacks or launch a full scale war , whichever option they choose the result is still the same . In the event of the Niger Deltans attacking Abokis in the Niger Delta , if a retaliation is not well managed , 2 things will evolve, igbos becoming a major casualty and or igbos or middle beltans being attacked. my guesses are that the core north has reached its valley of death a full scale war between the core north and the former eastern region and midwest can best be imagined than experienced, it will be worse that the first civil war and the theatre of war will not be in the east as usual but in the north central. A slow but gradual end of the core north is within the horizon for 2 reasons. 1 The ignorant hausa man does not understand that with out the support of Soviet union and britain the first civil war would have turned out different 2 the population in the north is made up of 60 % invalids ( people who are more of a liability to the society than anything else) and they base their population on very faulty census that does not account for tribes and religion. At any case i wish the Core north a good morning and good luck |
sometimes one wonders at the way Nigerian leaders think, at a time they operated only 1 gateway into Nigeria that is the MMA and later 2 gateways NAA and MMA , eastern tourist , travellers and pilgrims will drive all the way from the East to Abuja and lagos to board a flight to major destinations the same went for the sea ports, one wonders at the selfish wisdom of operating 1 deep sea port for more than 51 years of the nations existence , calabar port is not a deep sea port and the port harcourt sea port was never really developed into a deep sea port and a RORO port just to suit the narrow interests of a few selfish lots. All this reminds me of how the north rather than develop it self , expended all its energies marginalising the east whom the believed they defeated in a war , 40 years after the north is in a deep mess in every sphere of human development and the people they held down have surpassed them . |
Actually in politics there is no permanent friend or foe but permanent interests, the good thing about Awolowo was that he was able to deceive his followers ( The gullible and blind yorubas from the south west) The same way Fashola/Tinubu is magaing to deceive them by planting grasses and trees and maiking a mountain out of a mole hill of it. Comparatively neigther Zik or Ojukwu developed the East but some unsung heroes by the names Micheal Okpara and Akanu Ibiam. Zik had a dream (pan africanism ) that ended up in a night mare where as Ojukwu saw the future but went about the future the wrong way. Nobody and i repeat nobody would have somebody like Awolowo as a friend , some people could manage him as a political associate and when Elections are over the lines will be drawn . Have you ever wondered what happened to the so called Awolowo legacies, the ibadan that was his capital is now the dirtiest city in nigeria (human settlement rather than city ) The so called free education he embarked has only ended up putting his tribe as the third most eduated tribe in nigeria even his indigenisation policies which threw up incompetent C.E.Os of yoruba origin ended up producing unprofitable firms like unilever , dunlop and failed industrial complexes in ikeja which has been taken over by New Generation Churches |
for those whon are baliming militants , just have a rethink , isnt what they are asking for what Boko haram is just pushing for (pushing christians out of the north ) and what the Fulanis want to do in jos. Anybody who is asking igbos to leave lagos should also have it at the back of his or her mind that igbos initially opted out of Nigeria in the first instance and where froced back. and frist find out that lagos would be another ibadan without foreigners |
I really sympathise with Borno people on this but they should thank God food has not been used as a weapon of warfare and nobody will tell them they are marginalised and loosers of war with their property treated as abandoned property. A worst fate was suffered by igbos with some living retired soldiers boasting of it. Of particular reference was somebody boasting how he will shoot on any moving thing even denying igbos caritas and redcross. Generally since it has become an established nigerian culture, nigerians should just accept their fate and pray it won't be their turn next. Since it has happened to igbos, ijaws , tiv, kanuri, birom. Next in line will be yorubas, hausa, fulani, ishekiri, edo, gwari, urhobo etc I say goodluck to the next tribe. |
If this story is true it would probably had made headline in sun newspapers and the local radio in owerri just like fulani attack of benue and jos. Even sahara reporters and Next could not pick up the news. The story appeared for some few minutes in vanguard. Vanguard eventhough is a good media but can not generally be relied upon as a final authority. However igbos need to be careful because an over reaction could mean the furstrated northerners leaving their futile war with the FG to start attacking igbos. And the vultures in the southwest joining them to attack igbos on the flimsy lame excuse that they have muslims too rather than remaining neutral. |

@ Abu Maryam , what really do you want soldiers to do when civilians like the stupid 10 year old gal are allowing themselves to be used by the Boko harams , a 10 year old gal is supposed to be in JS1 or primary 6 for God's sake yet she accepted to be used , if she was killed by soldiers we will be told how an innocent 10 year old gal was killed by soldiers. Actually Borno people are doing them selves , borno has no major industry or factory , the sweet factory and golden penny flour mills aren't working and their fishing industry is declining , now they want to finally chase away investors by allowing vandals operate from their domain, notice how every attempt to plant bomb in kaduna was speedily detected. |
The civil Engineering curriculum from university of ibadan , lasu and unilag where the bulk of civil engineers who work in lagos and the SW need to be checked. Poor acaedemic standards is manifesting itselt. Let's stop beating about the bush, you could be their nexting victim. There are 4 coastal cities in nigeria , lagos , PH, warri, calabar , how come lagos only looses so many buildings every year and has the worst water drainage in the south, if not because of the incompetence of SW/yoruba civil engineers. Until this is checked it will keep occuring. |
The igbos might have moved on but has Nigeria moved, the lessons of the war must not be forgotten by the victims , the jews have moved on since the holocaust but the have not forgotten the vital lessons even in a 1000 years. They still remember the holocaust |
Is there any nigerian head of state who looked better than him at that age apart from zik (smart zik) and yaradua( priviledged yaradua) the rest. Looked worst and duller than this , so thank God we atleast have a human , Obj I heared looked like an Ape when he was younger. |
Igbos need not sit and watch loafers whose only achievement seems to be that of claiming inheritance to a city that used to be the Nation's capital edge them out. With the mentality displayed by some posters, Gwari people might wake up to start claiming Abuja and issuing visas to the people who investments and hadwork built abuja before they can come to abuja forgetting that Abuja All over the world New cities are being built , an entirely new city was built in china (shenzhen) for heavy technology , americans built detroit (Motown) for their Automobile capital. The SE and SS should use the opportunity or having GEJ in power to have a deep sea port completed in AkwaIbom , this would enable igbo business men relocate to the east with their busnesses and families drawing also their banks and other businesses like hotels , hospitals and telecom companies to follow suite. In that way lagos can now be for the yorubas and one wonders what they can make out of it like they have made out of ibadan. |
