As at 2023 when Peter Obi called Bishop Oyedepo Daddy, he was 69 years old. Today, Peter Obi called an 81 year old King a brother. To, those defending his act of disrespect, does this make sense?. Does it also make sense comparing Obi to Tinubu and Atiku who are in same age bracket as Oba Ladoja?. A 10year gap is within the same age bracket. Like Lere Olayinka said, can Obi refer to Obasanjo as brother?

He was wrong in calling the charlatan Oyedepo, Daddy. I myself have never called any man of God anything other than Pastor or sir, even those younger than me.

If he knew Ladoja before he became Olubadan, I am not sure it's a big deal that he, as a non Yoruba, should not be aware of the right etiquette and use the word "brother" rather than "his highness".

I believe Peter Obí wanted to stress how close they were rather than mean any disrespect. I myself wish the Olubadan would quash this nonsense, as a new Olubadan, he should be mindful of bring used as a political football by whoever.

My grandmother who once tried to discourage me from settling here in Igboland but before she passed in 2012 was very happy and always thanking God for leading me to Igboland. I kept bringing all my relatives here and today they are all doing well because Igboland is good to us.

This man is not an Ọba, if he is of royal extraction, he can only be an Ọba in his own hometown.

He needs to stop calling himself what he is not. If person A is from Oṣogbo and settled in Enugu as does person B from Ogbomoṣo, neither of them will ever recognise, or should, each other as an Ọba over them.

The Ọọni or Aláàfin should step into this matter and do something about people calling themselves Ọba in foreign lands. They are certainly not that.

I suggested it was a Nigerian, not just Ndigbo, trait to start hankering for traditional titles once you have made some money and here is proof.
