My spouse and I got ITA but he has an old police certificate. We are already in Canada and need a new police certificate.

Please what is the process of getting a new PCC even when the applicant is in Canada?

These steps may help

First - please STUDY page 1
Second - job titles are irrelevant, his JD versus the NOC duties is what matters
Third - go to the NOC site https://noc.esdc.gc.ca/?GoCTemplateCulture=en-CA select NOC 2021 version 1, in the NOC title section type "construction", many NOC options will come up
Fourth - ignore the ones that TEER 4 and 5 and the ones that are obviously not it e.g. crane operator, bricklayer, carpenter, glazier, plumber, sheet metal worker, cook etc.
Fifth - painstakingly go through the duties of the ones remaining. The best NOC is the one where all or most of the main duties are already listed in his JD. You may use the method in this link from page 1 https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/283#96895306

The issue with 70010 IMO is not the manager in the title but that your JD shows more "assist" than "manage, direct, evaluate, control etc". Maybe relook 13201 and focus on the duties instead of the job title or name. Lead statement says:

13201 Production logistics coordinators coordinate and expedite the flow of work within an establishment, prepare work and production schedules and monitor the progress of production and construction projects.........They are employed by manufacturing and construction companies and other industrial establishments.

At first i thought it was 70010- construction manager but i remembered that if someone is not an actual manager they cannot claim it so i know it cant be that. Next i found 13201- Production and transportation logistics coordinators but my problem is that it it is under the logistics area and his job is under construction. Try as i might, i just cant seem to find it.

If anyone can help with the NOC codes, i would really appreciate it.

This is a really sad scenario becuase one of the requirement of getting SOWP if your spouse is working full time in Canada is that the job has to be NOC 0,A or B.

Please can anyone else advice this person.
To be honest with you I don’t think a letter of explanation can make a VO not follow the requirements of this SOWP.
Please if you don’t mind me asking, were you guys aware of this requirements when you applied for SOWP? Cause if you were, she could have looked for another job while the visa was processing.

Jogojogo I think he needs to fly before that date ASAP. The reason I say that is because when I was in the Facebook group for Indians SOWP, somebody had that same issue and because he did not fly by the time his visa and introduction letter expired, he had to apply again which took like 5 months.

For the OP: please can you try to go to Canada before the 31st of July. I’m begging you. The reason is that if you enter Canada before then, all you have to do is either go flagpole (that is if your wife has collected PGWP ooo) or apply for extension online of WP from INSIDE Canada (which is faster). Please don’t let them make you have to reapply for Nigeria again. With what we are all seeing this processing time is not going down realistically.

I know I am asking you to plan a big trip in less than 3 weeks but please try and pack your load, go there, do flagpoling at a land border in Canada (preferably), apply for a visa inside Canada(Ottawa VO) and then you can leave Canada back to Nigeria if you choose.

Oh wow. This is tricky. One of the requirements of SOWP when spouse is a worker in Canada is that the job must be NOC 0 A or B.
How many days did they give you to submit. I ask because they sometimes give people 120 days and they use that time to find the a new job.

I suggest your spouse asks their employer if there are any open roles within their organization that you think would qualify.

Others that have encountered a similar situation should advice please.

Hello all,
I have an issue and I would appreciate some advice.
My husband got his visa approved June 22nd. Unfortunately we had just submitted his visa to Sweden on June 17th for us to go for a vacation. So once we got Canadian visa approval, we requested withdrawal of Sweden visa application. While they have withdrawn it, it is taking some time to get the passport sent back from their embassy (they do all Nigerian applications from Nairobi). When we reached out, Sweden embassy said they had sent the passport back to VFS Lagos on 30th of June. But till now it has not gotten to VFS. We are getting scared because the deadline to submit passport for Canada is 30 days which is fast approaching. If we don’t get the passport Back by next week, we are in a bind. As you know there is holiday next week so we also wonder how that will affect things. I was thinking I should email Canada Nairobi and beg for an extension but as we know they don’t respond to their emails until 30 days. How do I go about this?

Would appreciate any help that can be given.

I did not find the post in flagpoling when I went to look for it but I asked my schools international student advisor and she said it is completely legal and the spouse of a student can definitely do it. But as I said before make sure you have your spouse PGWP. This is why I suggested for your wife to go get her PGWP at the border if you guys are anxious.

I used to send a lot of web forms and emails to Nairobi (like every couple of days) but I gave up on it in April. Then I came on to nairaland last week and I saw people saying they replied that email where Nairobi asked them to send updated documents depending on their situation. I remembered that Nairobi sent us that email in March but I did not reply it cause I had already given them all the updated documents via webform. I then went to reply that email on Friday last week. To be honest I don’t know if it helped but I just thought to do it.

Congratulations. I have been expecting your update since you posted that your review has started. I have also been waiting for my wife's application since October 2nd 2021. Did you send any webform to remind them and how often?

First make sure to apply for visitor record if you are already close to your 6 month mark. You can easily flagpole for your work permit. Your wife should flagpole her PGWP first cause you need her job offer letter and paystubs for your own application. Look up the borders that let you go for that and the time they allow that. All you need is to carry all your documents and pay the fees at the border and you will be issued a work permit. I will try to find a post that was made on an Indian Facebook group on how they flagpoled.

P.S- I modified my answer when I saw that your wife was on implied PGWP status

Thank you. Actually he has been waiting for 4 years to do his masters and has been posting it because of me.
We want to both do our education together since we can pay for the masters and his is just a year and a half and I have 4 more years in my program.
We are also in British Columbia- Victoria.

If the admission is not fully funded, maybe he should focus on working for sometime until you guys get a PR in canada then he can study cheaper. It may be stressful for both of you to be in school at thesame time and only working 20hrs each.

I believe your passport vignette will carry a certain date, I also believe you are expected to enroll once you arrive

If you choose to defer your admission to September, the old visa then becomes invalid, pending on the school's policy they may need to reissue a new CAS and you may need to apply for a new visa.

Chances of the school deferring your admission is up to the school,nobody will tell you what to expect,you have to speak with your admission team and they will advise.

Just so you know, after enrollment, the school will send the data of all the students that have enrolled for that academic session to the home office.
So please if you want to defer your admission let your school know,make them no bounce you for border.

If it is May resumption,time is not on your side.

If you apply for UK student visa for May resumption and move your start date to September because family issues require that you stay in Nigeria a little bit longer, does that have any impact on your visa? I mean after UK has given you your visa? Specifically, does the student have to reapply for another visa? Also, what are the chances of the school being comfortable with moving the resumption term?

Please i am looking for a PGD in human resources that lasts for more than 12 months. I have found schools like Cambrian college, and Camosun college but they are all 12 months. As you all know, to get PGWP of more than 1 year, your program has to be more than a year. Please if anyone knows any pgd programs in HRM that is about 16 months, please let me know.

My thoughts exactly! The course doesn’t grant others visa so why exploit others to sell course too them. Even if it’s grants visa is she the visa officer or entry clearance officer, will she let them in at the border.
Only the gullible ones who cannot research what they want will buy.
I’ll also like to believe this so called person selling course has to be a celebrity or have a popularity of some sort on instagram.

E shock you too abi. I know that birth companies do this but to see an individual offer this based on just at I have born in Canada is very surprising. As if the course will give you magic that grant you visa and entry at POE.
Reminder that we should try not to exploit each other and always think about how we would feel if someone did that to you.

But isn’t visitor visa harder to get. I feel (and I might be wrong) that it had a higher chance of rejection than SOWP.
I applied for SOWP in September and I applied for visitor in December 2021. The visitor got rejected based on home ties for my husband.

I think it might be better to have both applications running just to be safe

I just saw something that made me really sad.
I came across an Instagram post of a lady that had her baby in Canada and now she is selling a course on how to do it to the people. She is selling it for 125 dollars. It makes me sad because chances are she got all her information from places like this forum.

I just hope more people come across places like this so that they can have all the information they need and not depend on someone else packaging what is on here.

Everytime I see things like this, I wonder- do Nigerians get happy from exploiting their own?

Your spouse will do the application for her and the kids on her own portal. I don’t know how to do the one with dependents so I suggest you read posts from the beginning of this year on this thread to get an idea of documents needed.
