Please, a friend of mine is really interested and wants to commence application for the Canadian express entry. Can someone put me through on the following;
1. The necessary documents needed to commence the application.

3. Does one need to get nominated by a province to get the PR?
4. What steps to get the ITA?
5. After application, how long does it take to get an ITA?
5. I know there’s a need for Wes verification. After the verification, where can one upload the result?

Which is better for language immersion? Visiting francophone ? Or listening regularly to French podcasts/radio

My target is a B2/C1

At some point you will basically use all three... I know I did. But with the way distance is set up, you might have to make do with an online tutor.

For immersion, nothing beats living amongst francophones and being forced to ingest and produce french. This will not be possible for most people, as such you'll have to create this environment for yourself. Read in french, talk to french people, change your phone's language to french, basically try to live in french as much as possible. You have to be intentional with this.

I don't know about the process of getting a refund, but are we even sure the visa agent actually paid the fees to Canada IRCC or she just took the money and gave him fake proof? He basically just gave her money for things that he should have been paying himself.

This is what I'm worried of...

Good day all, I applied for the Canadian PR Visa programme for self employed in 2020, using an immigration consultant that shuttles Calgary amd Lagos. She used her addressed for my correspondence with immigration Canada as she handled it on my behalf and every payment I made was routed through jet.
I also duly paid all her fees and every other fee required for my application and those of my dependants.

Long story short, after going for biometrics in 2023 , she called to inform me that my application was denied.
This year, someone informed me that since I had paid the visa fees and I was not given, that the practice is to write to Immigration Canada for a refund.
I called.my consultant and informed he and she said she was not aware of such. After much talk over some days, she reluctantly agreed to write the letter requesting for my refund and send me a screen shot of the purolported letter.
However, since then, she has not been forthcoming with any update. She rarely picks my call and if she is gracious enough to pick ot, she will just tell me that there is no news from Immigration Canada.

So I want to ask thos noble house,
1. Are my not entitled to a refund of my visa fees ?
2. If yes, how do I go about it

Advice on this platform is welcome, but also welcome via my email address

1. Yes you are entitled to getting a refund if your application was truly refused by IRCC themselves. It takes on average 4-8 weeks and is automatic.

2. If the "consultant" truly sent an application on your behalf. For the love of God, get your login details, and the refusal mail or letter. This is especially necessary if you're to apply in the future. Threaten him/her if you have to.

Don’t you feel the victim can get a refund since the Scammers lives in Canada especially if the Agent is not a licensed consultant!

Have you seen a scammer refund money out of the goodness of their hearts?
At the very least you can threaten a licensed consultant by saying you'll report to their licensing body. Who will you report an unlicensed consultant to? He's a lone agent.
IRCC has it in bold letters on their site, that you do due diligence with whomever handles your application.
So in this case who claims responsibility? The owner of the application!

After going for my Biometrics last week, it was updated on my profile almost immediately but the upfront medicals i did (since March) is yet to be updated. Whats could be the cause?

The general rule has been not to go for upfront medicals since October last year.

Is there a particular reason you went for one?
You can try calling the centre you did the medicals if they haven't sent it to IRCC to be linked...
Have you tried calling IRCC or sending a webform?

Hello Lovely People ! An update I owe to this platform, following my previous post and your words of encouragement, j’ai repasse l’examen le 10 Juin et par la grace de Dieu, c’est termine!

I have said this story so many times, so I’d spare you the details. I’d close this with three points:

1. It’s definitely attainable! I heard about this French route a few years ago but I kept telling myself “nahh, the scores would go down, I shouldn’t have to go to this length or kill myself this much”. Last year confirmed this wouldn’t be the case with the trend of the draws, and I had to dive into action. All thanks to people who shared their timelines and stories honestly on this platform to encourage others. I saw it was possible for others juggling job, family, and many other things and figured I could do this also.

2. Find a community! This is super important. This journey is challenging especially for English speakers, starting from scratch (A0,A1 etc). It is not one of those things or hurdles you navigate privately ooo 😂, it is emotionally and mentally arduous. Thus, you need ALL the support you can get (from relatable stories/experiences, astuces, conseils, and exam stories). One of the communities you can leverage is the Telegram group (I discovered this only after my first attempt). Shoutout to those amazing human beings!!! Madam Labelle, ma belle (in her words), you all are too too much! God Bless You!

3. Leverage all resources possible but don’t overwhelm yourself with them. Get a tutor that can guide you and narrow your focus on the most important tools/resources. My tutor was instrumental in this entire journey (I posted previously about this). If you can, try to enjoy the process. If you can’t enjoy it for whatever reason…. just focus on the target and do your best. Ca va aller. Que Dieu nous aide

3050... It's for both of you. Except you don't want to pay the Right of Permanent Residence fee now. You'll be told to pay it later as your application progresses.
When you get to the last page prior to submission, you'll see the total.

Maybe you can raise a webform with updated address.
Or make a call or a visit to a service Canada centre near you. They should be able to help.

A parent preferably. Siblings, uncles, etc are weak links.

Used a sibling and no issues at all. I've seen so many sibling gifters and no problems whatsoever.
Just ensure you see put the donor's government issued ID and the receipt of transfer of the gift deed.
It's not compulsory at all but If he/she has a registered business, you may attach CAC documents.

It has been a long journey and i am grateful that it has finally come to an end. I apologize in advance if its a long read. It all began with Wes application in the December of 2022 and my IELTS just about a week after WES application. It took WES the standard 6 weeks processing plus 2 weeks to get my transcripts sent to WES, totaling 2 months.

On the 1st Feb i was ready to create my EE profile and so i did.
My IELTS was an overall band 7 and WES was a 3 year bachelor degree, putting me at roughly 320 something CRS especially being that my age was not working to my advantage. With this in mind i quickly sought to increase my scores; french was the only option along with redoing my IELTS to max it the second time around, which i knew i was capable of doing (don't come for me my village people, i know my english language skills ). The reason i didn't do well enough the first time around is because of various factors (but that's a story for another day).

In my state of desperation, i ventured into the idea of going via the study route but i knew carrying my many kids would have been too costly and i think my brain has expired so pulling it off would have proved taxing on my mental health and my pocket. I resolved to abandon that idea after speaking to a friend of a friend in Canada who proved to be pivotal in my journey. She shared with me an email from IRCC promoting the plan to target francophones in the upcoming immigration strategies. I read the email and realized that french was going to be my strategy, not only to increase points but to get the upper hand. By this time, i am already in the pool and looking for a french tutor to reawaken my french language skill as it had been about 10 years since i last took french language courses at Alliance Francaise. I managed to ask around and got a very good french teacher who agreed to do personalized classes/private tutoring to make sure i meet my goal in the short time i had given myself. Soon my teacher was confident in my abilities and encouraged me to make my first attempt. Which i did and didnt do as well as i should have, bringing me back to the drawing board to restrategize; giving emphasis on my weakest points. I fully immersed myself in the language, listening to podcasts, watching movies, listening to french music, (i recommend Lara Fabian and ofcourse Celine Dion). I was once again ready to make an attempt at TEF. I did and the new scores allowed me get a well needed raise to the ranks of CRS 380s. The cutoff at the time was somewhere in the upper 400s and the only thing i could think to do was to redo my IELTS. It was now around October of 2023. I considered the IT course mentioned here a number of times but decided to start with the IELTS retake.

Long story short as i was getting ready to retake my IELTS in Jan 2024, when lo alas, I received an NOI form OINP for the French skilled priority draws. I knew i had to fork out an extra 1500CAD and so i began to amass it. Just as I was working on that, I then received an ITA from the federal french CBD draw thus beginning my journey to PPR. In a nutshell, allow me to share my timeline:

OINP ITA : 18 Jan 2024 ( idid not go through with it)
ITA: 1 Feb 2024 (just hours before the expiry of my profile... na God oo)
AOR: 26 Mar 2024
BIL/MIL : 1 May 2024

ADR: 31 May 2024
2nd MIL: 31 May 2024

Not at all.
You can put french as your first and/or only language. It can also be the second.

Yes. As long as you have NCLC 7 and meet the cutoff, you'll get an invitation.

I promise you, there’s something you know right now that could help someone, but you won’t share that. I’ve never seen you respond to any genuine query here other than to be a spokesman for canadian natives that are anti immigrants.

I’d cut you some slack to say perhaps youre doing it unconsciously. If you are, then stop because your posts would discourage alot of people. The reality is that it’s just the game of selfishness covered in being politically correct. Look critically into the comments and profile of people taking this news around. You will see either they are already in canada or they know such news will favour them directly or indirectly. No one discourages people or sow seed of lost hope more than those already in the system and wishes it only benefits them. We have all been here before when Canada announced something and still did a surprise draw. Everyone has a phone to goggle whatever news, whether true or not, but this platform is meant to encourage people to keep pushing even if things looked difficult. To all who want to hear, don’t let whatever anyone says in the name of facts or whatever reality discourage you from updating that Ielts score, writing second language, look into category based draws or doing whatever thing even if you are outside of canada. What will be will surely be.

This is my stance. Canadian immigration laws are changing.
Knowing that french has favoured me in 2024 does not mean it will in 2030.
Time is of the essence. Do what you can now, look at category based draws, get that 6 months experience etc. It's not to sit in the pool, hoping that the 27k CRS of 75 that happened under Mendicino will happen in 2025.
If it happens beautiful, and if it doesn't?

I can talk about the good sides of these immigration policies all day...it's changed the lives of so many.
But I'm also a realist, I'm sorry if it comes across as pessimism.
Immigration rules were not made to favour the immigrants, but the host country, and they certainly were not made to last forever... As soon as standards in the host country starts to fall, guess who becomes scapegoats?
It's like the tide, they'll ebb and flow.
About the pool, I looked to the future, studied for over a year and wrote a difficult exam. I kept hope alive whilst keeping in mind what I was up against.
Being realistic about Canada in 2024 means you can position yourself well. Remember it's a competition, not everyone will win a prize.
My tone is alright.

It's their country to do whatever with.
Canada is less prosperous and productive than it used to be, according to news sources.
Housing and healthcare issues, inflation, less wealth among the young, discontent with high immigration levels etc.
This might be one way they're trying to fix things.
Inviting so many people when there are no adequate jobs, homes and strained health care services isn't fair to anyone.
If Canada becomes a copy of Nigeria at present for example, shey you wan go?
It's for us to adapt to their rules.
