stevolinkon40: Hi guys, I have been unable to create an account on the status tracker website using my UCI and application number. AOR is 13th of March. I checked online to see if others have had similar issue and I could see some people received an email that they can now track their status with the tracker. Does everyone gets such email because I haven't gotten such and I haven't gotten request for medical and biometrics either. You have to wait till you get your Medical/Biometrics request and your UCI changes to just numbers. As for not getting them, give it at least a month to get it. From trends, PNPs are faster right now and CEC the slowest. Edit: I saw your AOR is march 13th. Maybe you can put a call through to IRCC to find out. |

shadow12345: Hi guys,
It would be criminal of me not to give back to a thread which has helped me so much in meeting my goals with regards to french for express entry.
There are monikers who have been and remain so helpful in this thread. My shout out goes out to you all. I don't want to @ because the list goes on. But thank you .
I've been a silent but vivid reader of this thread since July 2023.. I decided to give TEF a go in September.. My result were fine (C2, B2+, B2+, B2-)but I missed out on CLB 7 by 8 marks in EO category with a 442. It was heartbreaking. Not wanting to wallow in my almost-situation, I went in again in November.. others were perfect(C2, C1, C1) except EO.. again!!! Funnily enough with the same score 442.. I didn't even know how I was feeling(there's an unexplainable weakness, for those who can relate). ..just 8 marks again. It felt like a joke. I tried to appeal but you can imagine the response. At some point, you'd feel like giving up, especially in some peculiar situations. But I had a goal and it had to be accomplished as long as I had the resources necessary. I finally re-strategized and decided to consider TCF (at this point, it felt like TEF was after my life). I sat for TCF in April, the result came out within the same month and they were what I needed some CLB 9s and 8s. I have attached photos of my results also
In summary, where there's a will there's a way. I hate to sound like a motivational speaker lol but please, once you've committed to this journey, just keep persevering.. your breakthrough is always a step away. And please don't be shy to share your struggles and victories with others here. Freely we have received from our predecessors in this group (in terms of valuable and priceless info), freely should we also give in return. Goodluck to all those in preparation right now, feel free to ask for directions when needed. We are here to help. Merci! Not TEF after your life! Félicitations !! Good on you for coming back to share. It's encouraging. This thread is gold. Next draw, ITA is yours!!! |

Agidipie: what I mean I that I want to enrol for french class now, the write the test in 9 months time. Ok. I'll still say you take the IELTS or any of the other English lang. tests and enter the pool with your WES if you have it. One, this means if you are in one Category based occupations, you stand a chance to get invited. Two, you can also get a nomination through PNP. You can still be learning French all through this. |

pushy8: Greetings everyone,
I seek your guidance regarding my NOC and EE profiles.
As the primary applicant, my credentials are as follows:
- I hold an ECA for both an MBA and a Masters in Public Health. - I have 15 years of experience in banking until 2022, followed by employment in healthcare since then. - Currently, I am in the pool with banking experience, allowing me to claim the maximum points for the number of years. - My IELTS scores are as follows: Listening 7.0, Reading 6.5, Writing 7.5, Speaking 8.5.
Question 1: Should I switch my NOC to Healthcare despite having less than three years of experience in this field?
Regarding my partner's profile:
- They possess a degree in Computer Engineering without a master's degree. - With over 10 years of experience until 2022, they transitioned to healthcare from that year onward. - Age: 38 IELTS scores: Listening - 8.5, Reading - 8.0, Writing - 7.0, and Speaking - 8.0.
Question 2: Can my partner become the primary applicant based on their age and higher points for language skills, even though they have less than three years work experience in healthcare?
Also considering Manitoba pnp as we have a sibling there. Also not sure whether to use banking or healthcare.
Thank you Please look into the healthcare draws, you need at least 6 months experience in the past 3 years to qualify for the category based draws, but at least one year full time to qualify for express entry in the first place. You and your partner possess both. Please stimulate your scores on the CRS score calculator and enter the pool immediately if you have your WES and IELTS ready... The last healthcare draw was 422. https://ircc.canada.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp |

Agidipie: I need an advise, i am currently finishing my Msc in UK. I will be kicking off my pr process soon. I did ielts 3 years ago but didn't meet the cut-off. Now I am in the UK, someone advised me to take the French language test rather than English, because it would help the immigration process and also my career. I am about to register for my French language course and I don't want to waste money. I want to ask, how viable is it using French test ? And also advice Have you been learning French and now ready to write the exam? If not, getting to the level to pass TEF will take a while, a long while. Why not take the English test now enter the pool, and depending on what you studied in the UK, look at category based draws or even PNP? |

thelma76: Okay lovely people! The results are out and in exactly one week . As promised, breakdown below: CO: 448 - B2 CE: 496 - B2 EO: 11 - B2 EE: 10 - B2
If you’re familiar with the requirements, you’d already know I have to rewrite as I needed 10 extra points in CO only, for this result to suffice. All this to say, please practice the past questions to stupor lol. It’s annoying because it’s just one section making me spend this money again and worst, the earliest date is June 3rd. But c’est pas grave, people have had it worse and they didn’t relent so we go again. Thanks for all your support and encouragement. Btw, would try responding again to the moniker who asked for the questions, if this site doesn’t ban me TCF has nothing on you! You did real good!! Please be proud of yourself and how far you've come. Everyone knows TCF listening is a real casse-tête... Let RFI and the formation site be your partners and you'll smash it out the box... It will all work out. |

CornOak: Congratulations on your approval, wishing you the best moving forward.
Yes, based on my experience, once the counterfoil is generated and updated on your profile, that means your visa has been stamped. So just relax and wait for VFS to update/deliver to you.
You can as well register (if you don't already have an account) on the IRCC application tracker to get deep insights on your application. On this tracker, you'd see your visa number, visa expiry date, medical information, and everything in between.
Personally, I feel you should worry less about retrieving your passport due to the hectic journey ahead. Why not focus on your moving preparation and life in Canada, such as; job and house hunting, cargo from Nigeria, and more?
This would sure take off your mind from the passport stress and in no time, DHL would knock on your door for PP delivery. I know it's highly variable depending on certain factors, but how's the job market where you are? For skilled and unskilled jobs. |

overlord77: Right! thanks for your response. As a matter of fact, I asked because I know a friend that got his couple of days after his medicals was updated. For background check and eligibility, I thought it'd be quick since I have an existing TRV, on which same background check and eligibility had been carried out about 9months ago. I have no experience with past applications but it makes sense... Hope it's quick anyways, the tension from the wait is something. |

overlord77: Greetings house. Just wondering, how long after medicals and biometric update, does one get the RFV and PPR response from IRCC. Is there an estimated timeline? Also, when does the estimated 6months for processing PR application start, is it from the moment one receives AOR? The first one is VO dependent... There's still background check and eligibility to be performed. I saw someone's without any ADR that got his 4 days after. Another up to 2 months. Yes it starts from AOR. |

thelma76: 1. Thank you so much Aurorae1. I typed a reply to this but got banned that day so It wasn’t posted. Honestly I struggled with the decision to confront her, since my priority was just writing this exam. But I didn’t want her to lose clients to that factor especially since we can all agree that she has mastered the “pedagogy” (which btw is a word I never used in English until I learnt it in French LOL)
2. I realized I already said too much about those resources, don’t want any wahala so I’d stop here but 100% agreed.
Thanks a lot for the kind words!! Again, whatever the outcome is, I’d come back to share here. Take care! The bot gave you a grand "how far?" when you were waxing french plus accents |

wememore03: Hello
For a beginner in French, is it advisable to use AF in Lagos? You'll still go and write the exam there. . Just joking. But yes, AF is standard. For time saving measures, ensure you opt for their intensive classes... That's where you get the most value. |

thelma76: In the spirit of transparency and sharing, j’ai voulu vous partager que j’ai passe mon examen aujourd’hui. If I could go back, what would I do differently?
1. I’d stick to Madam Bizang (but only because her foundational classes are exceptional). I know someone had raised a complaint about her attitude and I mentioned it could be due to a barrier in language and culture. However, I eventually got a glimpse of what this person had described which honestly demoralized me and I had to call it out to her.
2. However, in addition to madam Bizang and the immersion (French podcasts etc) I’d honestly focus fully on using the past questions packs on réussirTCFcanada point com. I’ll tell you for free that a lot of the questions in EE and EO were all in their past questions which made these sections super breezy for me. Sharing some at the end of this message.
3. I’d request an adapted keyboard. The keyboard being used at AF Lagos is despicable. The keys are stiff and most times, you have to go back to correct what you’ve written because the keys are jammed somewhat. Also, adding the accents is tougher because you have to consciously pause and select the accent on the screen. A candidate who had written previously had requested for this during his registration and he received a wonderful adapted Azerty keyboard during the exam to all our envies.
4. I cannot repeat this enough. Practice the exam packs on that website over and over and over again for all épreuves! My only regret is not starting them earlier than last week. Even for CO and CE, saw a few repeated questions.
Things to note: you don’t control the time with CO. Each question has a set duration so you have to wait till the timer runs out to go to the next question. It would have been preferable to have control over the pace of CO. For CE, you control the pace.
Finally, I got B2 in both CO and CE but now I heard there’s a B2 haut and B2 Bas. And I didn’t pay attention to the scores because I thought the grades mattered most. Additionally, I had to leave the room immediately after so little to no time to take note of it. Now I’m anxious because I’m not sure I got B2 haut as I can’t remember seeing any 500s in either scores. I guess we’ll wait and see in three weeks as they advised. I’m super anxious and don’t even feel as relieved as I thought I would.
Finally, practice past questions till you’re sick of it!! I wish I had and if I have to rewrite this, I wouldn’t fret at all given this experience I now have. Again, it’s me…the one who started actively learning in September…I think all things are possible with a little determination. I’ll definitely try again if that’s required eventually! Ayy Félicitations !!! 1. I'm glad you were able to call her out and get it addressed. I'm non-confrontational especially towards a teacher/lecturer, but I hope she corrects it moving forward. She is GOOD at what she does. 2. I used the other and more popular site formation-tcf by Ayoub and yes it WAS everything. Free past questions in EE and EO and the subscription for CO and CE. This part is compulsory (in my eyes), if you want to take TCF... Won't say more...lol 3. A moniker had spoken about the keyboard in use for the exam, and I adjusted accordingly. Downloaded the french version of the QWERTY keyboard on my phone and laptop and dropped the usual AZERTY. YES to needing to click the accents on the screen, what a time waster! Hopefully they correct this. 4. Information is power. I wish you'd had more time with those packs. A month with them is golden. I'll also not say more here... 5. As for the B2 haut et bas, it's more TEF although there's a balance now with the new format, although I hear IRCC is yet to implement it. What you need is the score not just the CLB, you need 450 and above for CO and CE, 10 and up for EE and EO. Anything lower even if it's B2 won't cut it. For someone who got serious with this in September, you've done great!!! Rest easy and sleep well tonight Looking forward to celebrating with you!! |

shockreaction: Hey everyone. I'm looking for a good tutor for an intensive 2-month prep course for the TEF exam, especially taking into consideration the changes to the exam structure. I am somewhere around B1/B2 level, but I wasn't able to focus on my French studies for almost a year now due to life issues. I can dedicate 3 to 4 hours a day every week day.
Are there any good recommendations?

Ishoba: PNP on its own is 600 point. How can you think 500+ is pnp? Maybe sibling factors and job offer is helping with French, ielts, eca and age max. 🤷🏼 You do know that there are people with less scores 200-399 in the pool a... Adding 600 gives 900 up to 1000+ points... To get that 549, for an outlander the candidate will be single, under 30, have a masters, max out English, CLB 7 french, AND have a PR or citizen sibling in Canada? Now between someone getting a PNP to add to their score and this profile, which do you think is more feasible to attain? Definitely such persons exist, but scores like that will pick up mostly PNPs in the pool. |
