BEYEI: I haven't paid, but I've checked the price, it is 76000.
Thank you Yes it is on the site, but there are additional fees (taxes) and due to the conversion rate, it's higher(don't know the calculation behind this). I saw someone who ended up paying 104k as at December. Wanted to know if it has increased or reduced. |

Dauphine: Little update:
I eventually got through to the exam centre over here and their price is the same as last year, I guess they are not getting a lot customers 😄 so I decided to do the exam with them when I get back from my vacation so I can buy myself more time. Thank you for the assistance
Cc: aurorae1 I'm glad you were able to get through to them. Congratulations in advance on your exam! |

Dauphine: Time is always of the essence in these things and I can’t say I’m 100% ready but I still have sometime to the exam even if I do it earlier in Nigeria. Money is not a limiting factor, I’m just worried that with the way they haven’t announced any dates in the country I’m at and how slow they are to responding to emails maybe I’d be better off writing in Nigeria. Thanks a lot for your assistance, I really appreciate ❤️ I understand. The Alliance Française here is on top of communication if that's something. There's no 100% readiness. French must keep you on your toes . I wish you all the best with your exam. |

Dauphine: Thanks for your response, I would like to know what you mean by the latter part. The thing is I reside in Europe (non-French speaking) but I’ll be visiting Nigeria in the coming weeks. The country I’m in has not yet published dates for exams till now and they are not responding to my emails so I thought I can register and write the exam while I’m visiting Nigeria. The price they gave me last year is considerably cheaper than what I’m seeing on AF Lagos site that’s why I’m asking I understand better what you meant. I'd say weigh your options, if time is of the essence and you're ready for the exams and the price difference isn't a limiting factor, just take it here in Lagos. Yes, it's way more expensive now , the naira is fairing badly . |

Dauphine: Hey guys, I’m sorry if this question has been asked before, I tried to search for it but didn’t find it. Was the price of TCF recently increased or it has always been 289k, asking because I want to make a choice of countries to write it in and want to know which is cheaper. Thanks in advance! Recently increased. It was around 185k or so before... Be Careful when choosing countries. |

shizzy7: Hello, I'm planning on learning French for TEF, as a beginner, I intend to dedicate the next 7 months to it, hopefully I find a a good personal teacher soon and resources to hel achieve this goal. Congratulations and good job on taking that first step... We have testimonials of this exam being done in that time frame. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. We're gentle folks over here |

makeita1k: Thank you very much the input, I have noticed a lot of people taking TCF as their second exam after having issues with TEF and passing. This could also be a reason they decided to revamp the exam, by adjusting its format. Seen the same too. Good they revamped it to bring it closer to the people. |

Bimffo: Hello, so I just finished my studies in Canada and I have applied for PGWP.
So I am thinking of crossing my Student VISA to Express Entry.
Please how many months does it take to approve my Express Entry VISA as I am in Canada right now.
I need a good answer, please. I don't think one just CrOSses over to an express entry visa (I think you mean PR). You have to enter the pool like everyone else. Have you stimulated your CRS scores to know if it's competitive enough for a general express entry draw or the new category draws? Or to try the PNP route? If no, page 1 is it... If have an ITA and have submitted your docs. already, then the average take is 6 months...some less, some more. |

makeita1k: Hi everyone,
With the TEF exam being updated to a new format, would you still consider writing TCF over TEF?
What do you guys think?
I would appreciate any replies. You'll get a mix of people here who have done both. I'll always pick TCF but it's kind of a confirmation bias as it's the only one I've done. Try to do a simple google or even YouTube search to compare both. You can use the search button for this thread too. I'll add that if french listening is a true weakness for you, TCF is a trap...lol, although this can be overcome. I also don't know much about the new TEF format though I see it somewhat resembles the TCF format and is of shorter length. You may find someone who has written to find out. Hope this helps. |

Mynecakes11: Hi Nairalanders, I'm so joyful to join this thread. Followed up on some of the pages, and really mind blowing. Thanks to everyone giving out these info
Pls, I want to ask some question. My husband is the one eligible for fsw and he's 40 and has only Bsc. Is it advisable to go on with the EE plan?
Also, what he studied in school is not what he's currently practicing. He studied agric economics but works in a govt hospital as claims adjuster.
Thank you for your responses 🙏 First order of action will be to stimulate his crs scores and digest page 1 of this thread. Practically everything you need is there, if there's any confusion, you may ask further here, so many people are willing to answer. You can stimulate his crs score here: https://ircc.canada.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.aspAs for his course if study matching his current job, that's usually a requirement for Saskatchewan PNP. |

mancheeutd: I searched through and on Google I found 6 weeks or more That's long. I think it's center dependent. Call the centre you intend to take the exam and ask them. They'll probably give you the maximum number of weeks. If you're ready though take the exam, getting the results won't be much of an issue. |

GraciousWords: 100%...........just compare 2018 to now, % increase in the 461-600 bucket is in the thousands.
Also looks like COVID-era CEC draws also led to student numbers rising and former students, now with PGWPs flooding the pool.
My advice to anyone whose NOC is not in demand would still be to bite the bullet & learn French (additional CRS points wise and money wise) - not easy at all but it's the most rationale choice now if you look at the options coldly.
With French you'll still be ahead in 2 years time than someone who went to Canada as a student and completed a 1/2 yr degree and has 1 year Canadian work experience (CRS grid facts) and will spend far far far less money, especially now that the Student POF (excluding tuition & travel fees) is doubling from Jan 2024 and PGWP extensions ending soon.
Alternative is to pivot careers and get a job in the in-demand NOCs even if only for a year (for PNP and FSW CBDs)
There's always the chance of a miracle but prepare like there's none on the horizon. Stay hopeful, pray that the odds will favour you more often than not, but please do the needful.
All the best guys!
#YouCanDoIt That 451-600 I second learning French, don't doubt, don't fret, just do it! It's not easy, but except one is in an in demand category (with good scores o), french remains promising. It's definitely not easy but it can be done. |

Debbieeeeeee: There’s more awareness about express entry by the day, my prayer is a weekly draw at least to So much more awareness... This year alone has blown up the pool, now add the circa 800000 students most of whom plan to transition to PR, the temp. workers and others, for PR spots of less than 260,000 in the economic class... It's crazy... |

Debbieeeeeee: PNP draws held during that period. This period there were no draws at all from IRCC except the provinces. During that period you’re referring to IRCC held PNP draws only steadily. True... Yet it's still a lot for just 56 days. These are unprecedented numbers. |

Debbieeeeeee: Expected, no draws for 56 days, hundreds of people get into the pool daily. Yes, albeit not at this rate, the competition has gotten stiffer . For perspective, this score(561) after one month of no draws is higher than the draw of July 2022 after a year plus of no general draws during COVID at 557. |

MadamExcellency: Igbo people are not dark.
During segregation in the USA, where the test for black monkeys was a brown envelope, Most Igbo migrants and former slaves passed the test and schooled with the whites.
Igbos as an ethnicity are not black in the context of race. May be fair and light brown but not black. Colorism will never die in this Nigeria. In the West, y'all will be called "Blacks". But you're here talking about the paper bag test and schooling with whites like it was a good thing... *spits* Free but still in chains... |
