It's on their site. Just use Google to check "Alliance Française exam Fees Nigeria". TEF is 210k at the moment.

Hi there!

Sorry, I've not be on Nairaland since I made the comment you quoted thus the late reply.

It seems to me that you're doing well for a beginner. You know what, scratch that. You're doing great! You just have to believe it and let your own progress be your source of motivation. Compare where you were 5 months ago with where you are now, and you'd be amazed. It's like working out, we naturally do more when we see those muscles growing. Don't beat yourself up about la pierre d'achoppement (the stumbling block), that's what makes learning fun. Having certain challenges today and overcoming them tomorrow only to face greater ones makes the learning process even more exciting and fulfilling. I speak French and while I love the language, it has become normal to me. I definitely had more fun learning it.

Like I said earlier, the secret of speaking French is speaking French. Just speak. Use overly simple grammatical constructs. Why say "stumbling block" when you can just say "blockage"? When you don't know the right way to arrange the words, confidently spit out the words that come to your mind regardless of how ridiculous they sound. And if you must, bring in English words to fill up the spaces just like you did above. The most important thing is that you keep speaking. There's something about speaking; it makes the language less of a classroom subject and more of a practical means of communication. It is not just about level. There are many great French writers who cannot boldly speak the language cause they're yet to have the courage to make mistakes. This courage can come to you at any level and the earlier the better.

Merci mille fois, Etrange. Thank you for taking the time to respond so comprehensively to me, I'm really grateful... This response is bookmarked. I hope all is well with you. Take care.

Je suis beginner.
Pls where can I start from to study for tef

Honestly a school (physical or online) will work wonders for a beginner (A1, A2), starting out alone is doable but can be overwhelming and frustrating.
Then, once you have the structure and learning style down, if you want you can continue on your own.
But to get started, check out Page 1 of this thread, e 'choke' with information and links.
Bonne chance.

Génial... Any reason you stopped at IEF?

Hi!

Your French is great! You probably just need a friend or an acquaintance that understands the language so that you both can make it a point of duty to always speak to each other in French. That way, you'd get used to speaking it.

It's important that you don't bother about errors while speaking. Focus on communicating and just speak with all your errors. The main reason many people write good French but cannot speak the language is the misconception that they need to be error free. Thinking about grammatical accuracy while speaking will only inhibit your progress. As an instructor, I know when to correct my students and when to leave them to just flow despite thier errors. The flow is important. Errors will naturally reduce as time goes by.

One more thing, speaking fast is not necessary. Your goal is not to speak fast but to speak and understand the language. With time, you'd organically start speaking the language just as fast as you speak English. And also, try to get your pronunciations right but don't bother so much about accent. Our accents are part of our identity.

The grand point here is, don't think about it, just speak!

May I ask how you learned the language?

C'est mon problème exactement. Ça fait trois mois que j'apprends le français et j'ai un niveau A2.1 à l'Institut. J'essaie de parler mais il semble que there is a stumbling block in my mind(dunno how to say this grin). Second guessing and grammar hounding when it comes to writing and speaking is an issue for me... J'ai vraiment besoin d'aide, donc, si tu peux m'aider, je suis très reconnaissante. Je sais que vous n'enseignez plus officiellement mais après avoir lu entièrement le TEF thread, it'd be handy to have your help.
Merci d'avance... smiley

No affiliation, but IEF and some private tutors are often praised on here.
You can also check the nearest AF(Alliance Française) branch, although you might have to take their intensive classes.
There is a TEF/ French thread with boku information.

Hello guys, this is my first time here and all the comments here has been so helpful to me. But please can someone explain to me how to send my scratch card along with my WAEC result for Norway application. And does anyone have any idea if the Norway schools accept a transcript uploaded by me, if the said transcript soft copy was sent to me by my school? I would be very grateful if I can get a reply to my questions.

Scan the WAEC card and upload it on the portal.

Educate people around you, start various discussions, corruption is ideal in a capitalist economic system. Socialist system will ensure that you can afford a car even while you polish shoes for a living. While you'll barely be able to feed yourself if you teach in a school in Nigeria.

We are reaping the fruits of end stage capitalism. It was never supposed to be the answer to all our problems.
Imagine one man(who bleeds blood too) being worth that much. The ten richest people on earth have as much wealth as 50% percent of the world's poorest.
Let that inequality sink into your brain for a few minutes. It's mind boggling and staggering. Yet we have boys and girls screaming billionaire things up and down the internet. The earth will not be able to sustain that.
Ultimately the system will close on itself, it was always bound to. How it'll do so and what it will take, I don't know, but it will happen.

As Kanye West once rapped "No one man should have all that power."

I saw WAEC/NECO certificate + 1 year in the university (for Nigerian students). Not even ND or HND... Nawaooo.. so, someone with ONLY waec/neco can not apply to Norway for Bsc programs? Hmmm

This has been said previously. It's the same with university of Oslo I reckon, you'd need the 100L transcript. ND/HND isn't accepted.

AbdulHakeem44:
Flogging a child as a form of discipline is accepted in Nigeria, it only becomes molestation when the flogging becomes too much and causes physical harm.

Flogging is part of Islamic law as a form of punishment or discipline, but never was it meant to dehumanize. No one would scold a father who beats his child to discipline him but everyone would castigate him if the beating becomes dehumanizing.

The flogging was too much is what should be condemned and not the reason they were hit.

Most of the people commenting do not have first hand information of what happened, the incomplete story spread by enemy of Islam to satisfy their Islamophobic heart is not good enough, we can do better.

Many of us born in the early 90s actually received most of this kind of punishment and that is why many in our generation are morally upright than the indomie generation we have today, but here they are hypocritically condemning the same punishment that made them morally upright.

By the way, the beating in the video was too much and should be criticized.

Addition

Many idiots already quoting me, I thought I would see someone who would argue intellectually but to my surprise, they were all dumb-heads. Didn't they see where I condemned the beating for crying out loud. These people would still condemn Islam if they had beat those kids lightly but for the sake of clubbing or partying. They will ask u what happened to freedom of movement and association. Lol.

I have more to say but I'd ask;whenn does caning become "too much?" because anytime a person is flogged it becomes physical.
Also your generation morally upright What generation is currently the cause of the woes(moral, ethical, intellectual etc.) facing our so called "morally upright" nation?
Always, ALWAYS, condemn what is wrong, do not be two-faced, both in your heart and in your speech. It's either one of the other.

HND isn't accepted for Master's courses. As for PGD courses in Norway I have no idea. I do see some short term courses, they are very few in English and I'm not certain if HND can be used and a visa granted for them.
Check out University of Stavanger for these courses.

People have gotten admission for master's degrees with less than a 'B', of course they had other things to buffer their applications.

Good day everyone, I trust you are all doing great. Please i would love this my questions to be taken seriously and attended to. I have been a follower of this thread for long. I am interested in studying in Norway, initially wanted to do my masters once am done with college but recently literally all my friends had relocated to ‘the abroad’, one even left in his 500L nursing, making me feel it not bad to leave the country at anytime once the opportunity comes.

So 1. Am just entering 400L mEdical lab science here in nigeria, I would love to pause my admission and travel or use my transcripts for transfer and continue maybe in year 2 or something over there if possible, is that possible
(That’s my first question)

No 2. With my little research I realized the amount needed for the block account( money paid into school account) is 4900NOk approximately #5.something million. I don’t have that amount right now, I want to know if there are agencies that could help with such amount for the proof of funds, I have seen some helping with ‘’proof of funds’’ but they only credit one’s Nigerian account.

3. I want your honest advice and guidance.
Thank, would be expecting replies….

1. Theoretically you CAN do a Bs.c in Norway, it's just hard to get the admission to. This is due to the language of instruction in most universities which is Norwegian. If you understand Norwegian go ahead. Or do check University of Oslo and NTNU if they have any English courses.
Do more research.

2. I don't know about this. If people do collect loans, I can assume they have to offer up very heavy collateral and such for such amounts, except you can get it from family members. Remember you are to have that amount for your upkeep for the year. Norway is a very expensive country to live in.

3. Honestly, do finish your B.sc, master's courses will definitely not go extinct by the time you are done and you'd have more time to work on your hunger for relocating and plan well.

Even if you eat sleep, breathe French you cannot go from beginner to the level you need to ace TEF in 6months but you can go very far. If you dedicate your time and yourself, I don’t mean 3 hours or study per day. I mean immersing yourself in the language, listen to French music, listen to podcasts while you go to work, listen to french news. Basically live your life in French. And then do a preparatory Class for TEF You can do it in 8/9 months. That’s what I did. TEF is nothing like DALF, don’t be deceived. It’s more like TCF although I heard TCF if slightly easier. If you want to start, start now.

There's a lady on the TEF thread Ayandee(I think) who was able to do TEF and pass well in 6 months. Regardless, anyone aiming to pass TEF in a year or less will have to breathe, eat, live, wake and sleep French...

With fervent practice, 6months is enough. If anyone prefers to use 2yrs, it's okay lipsrsealed Try DELF, & DALF exam then you'll know TEF is just for beginner (basic).

Haven't taken TEF myself, but just browsing through both their curricula, also they both have different approaches towards their certifications. You're a real joke man grin
