showlove911:Do you know that those schools in the South East will be so scared now? Medical and dental council of Nigeria have allocated slots for medical students from each school. The capacity of the south eastern schools is the least. They admitted so many students that won’t graduate just to collect the money. They are over subscribed. It is fraud . It is nothing to celebrate. This is one of the reasons for poor educational standards in Nigeria. I know you will still argue with nonsense. By the way, I graduated in a Nigerian medical school and I was the national president of the then NIMSA ( Nigerian medical students association) so I’ve been to practically all the medical schools in Nigeria |
OyoTunjiUSA:This is not correct. The wife didn’t get a family visa otherwise he won’t be applying for the first time. Their visas are not linked. The immigration officer knows nothing about the wife based on the interview. They are not linked in anyway. @KASIDAVID Location has nothing to do with your visa approval. You can as well go to Alaska . However, if you are going for mainly touristic activity, it means you are a seasoned traveller. You can’t leave the whole of kuramo beach, Cape Verde, Zanzibar, Mauritius all of them in Africa to to go a beach in Florida AND YOU CANT PLAN THE HOTEL STAY CORRECTLY. That’s a red flag. A seasoned traveller knows how to plan his vacation. He stays close to his places of interest while on tourism. The officer doubted your original intention based on that. Don't work yourself up unnecessarily. Maybe you should go elsewhere before you attend the interview next time. Like I said, if you are so keen about going to the beach for vacation, a visa denial to America won’t stop you since you don’t even need a visa to do the same in Mauritius. Go somewhere else then apply again. It shows your intentions are genuine. |
broadman20:Kiddo, you need a lesson in history. There was no contest against Yorubas in 1999. The mood of the whole nation unequivocally was that a Yoruba must be president. Yorubas had suffered so much. Abiola won 1993 election and it was annulled. He went to prison and died. His wife, Kudirat was assassinated, A Yoruba man that was used as interim president was dethroned. Obasanjo and Diya who happened to be deputy of ABACHA were thrown into prison . Many Yorubas like Beko ransom Kuti, Soyinka, Gani fawehinmi and even Tinubu ran away or were thrown to prison. When ABACHA died, it was obvious only a Yoruba president could heal the wound. The Yorubas however presented a candidate under AFENIFERE. The north believed AFENIFERE had a personal vendetta against them so they were scared. They released OBASANJO FROM PRISON and begged him the following week to come and contest. He never showed interest. It was believed that he handed over power to a northerner against his own kinsman (Awolowo) so he could be trusted. Therefore, the PDM group formed by late Shehu Musa Yardua who was very close to Obasanjo ( He was de facto deputy to Obasanjo as a military head of state) went to beg him. He agreed. It was this group that formed alliance with EKWUEME who was IGBO and served as vice president to a northerner that OBASANJO handed over to. They formed PDP so PDP was an Igbo party. ATIKU was the de facto leader of PDM after the death of Musa Yaardua and that was why Igbo kept voting him till they saw OBI The East did not vote for Ojukwu because EKWUEME at that time was considered a man of more national prominence than Ojukwu as a former vice president. His ambition was to become PRESIDENT later. Igbos thought they could achieve presidency with PDP that was why they didn’t vote OJUKWU. You guys will be deceiving your youths because there is no history in Nigerian schools again. |
broadman20:Thrash. Igbos never voted Obasanjo out of choice. In 1999, only two Yorubas were contesting. The candidate of the Yorubas was Olu falae. Igbo voted against the candidate of the Yorubas as usual same way they voted against Awolowo. In 2003 that you want to talk about, Obasanjo had infiltrated all the political space in the then nascent democracy and there was no going back. All the governors in the south east were in PDP. Senate president was in PDP so Igbos voted PDP because they had no choice. You make it look like OJUKWU was ever an option. It’s just like Yorubas saying they voted against pastor BAKARE or SOWORE. They were candidates but we know they were going no where. You voted for Goodluck Jonathan? Against who? You voted for Yaardua ? How ? PDP was ruling all the states in the East. Ojukwu was not better than say SOWORE in national appeal. It was just a miss or hit scenario. Obasanjo hand picked Yardua and you had no option. The first time you had option , you turned it to a tribal war. The reason is that OBI, having contested as the vice president on the platform of a national party like PDP and being a former governor happened to be the only candidate ever from the South East with any chance at all. Stop deceiving yourself. You never voted for anyone out of choice. You simply had no choice. Even Abiola that was so popular nationally still lost some South east states and marginally won in others. |

Opeyemi007:There is. It depends on the mood of the immigration officers. I got stamped twice in the last two years out of about 8 entries . |
OyoTunjiUSA:. You know the reason why I did not reply you? You said anyone that disputes your position does not know about it. Stop talking like that. No one knows it all. Only people with very little exposure talk like that. I won’t go into details but no one will give you emergency appointment to attend conference. Short training less than three months can qualify for EA technically. However, the business entity both in Nigeria and US must prove that they will lose some business opportunities unless you attend the training. It is extremely difficult to prove that with a conference. I’ve gotten emergency appointment using urgent business travel twice and it is always because I was going to do a job and my income for the job is usually around 50k dollars over 4 months period so that should tell you how important that job is to the company. Infact, IT IS EXPRESSLY STATED THAT YOU CANT USE CONFERENCE TO GET EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT. Stop saying only your position is correct. Learn from others . Only illiterates insist their position is always the best. |
freshStarz:Just disregard those hammering on your invitation letter. It has no bearing. No one cares. You will not get EMERGENCY APPOINTMENT BASED ON CONFERENCE even if you are the organizer. Conference is never an impromptu stuff. It is just like wedding invitation. You will never get emergency appointment even if you are the father of the bride and the groom makes emergency proposal. They believe proper conference would have been planned a year or more ahead . Therefore, fill the forms, get a date which will likely be long. When the date is close, update your CGI form. If you have a new conference you want to attend at that time, update it. If you don’t have, change plans to tourism. If you really qualify for US visa, it doesn’t matter whether you book hotel for tourism or you register to attend a conference. Those things are very very secondary. |
YorubaKing:You contribute nothing to the development of the country. You sit down in your house criticizing everything, calling your country a useless nation…indirectly calling yourself a useless citizen of a useless nation. What is wrong with all these unpatriotic elements that someone is sharing the country with? Nigeria is so unlucky to have many unproductive, unappreciative citizens . Kudos to those guys representing us. They did something. You too do something with your life and stop whining like a baby. |
sethtsadopp:Although American visa can sometimes be a lottery so there is no harm in trying. However, don’t put your mind to it. The VO will assume you are an economic migrant. 1) Your purpose- you are planning to attend the wedding of a cousin that you last met when she was five years old. For what? You didn’t see this lady for 20 years . Suddenly, you will be spending six months salary just to attend her wedding in America. How many of your cousins in Nigeria have you contributed 500k towards their wedding that you will now be spending 6months salary on a cousin’s wedding in America? Things like wedding works well for people that travels regularly and for direct parents/siblings not a distant cousin. 2) You don’t have a strong travel history to justify such expenses. Piece of advice—- Keep your answers shot. Don’t explain. Why are you going to America ? ? I am attending a cousin’s wedding. NO NEED FOR EXPLANATION IF YOU ARE NOT ASKED. Nobody will ask you about your house in Abuja or your bitcoin. He may ask you what you do. Keep the answer short as much as possible. Finally, wish yourself Goodluck but never put your mind to it. |
Anybody that checks the name or the tribe should collect 10000 years in jail. Nonsense !!!! |

justwise:oga we don hear. The article was published since Wednesday and Thursday by major newspapers. If the doctors got tier 2 in less than 5 days after they were bounced at the border, it further confirms that the initial visa waiver was genuine especially since the UK visa collection center is yet to resume. The lesson here is....never assume you know all next time. I know deep down you know the doctors were travelling genuinely otherwise it won't even worth the response from a whole minister and something generating such a media attention would have attracted a rebuttal from UK embassy in nigeria if it is not genuine. Pride is making it difficult for you to accept so I understand. |
justwise:old news. The minister said those things two days ago and he didn't tell you they have not left. That news was on Wednesday. He was indirectly begging doctors not to leave. He didn't say they left or not. And like I earlier told you, they told them to keep quiet about the eventual departure. Once a Nigerian minister tells you that he can't confirm wether they have left or not....what do you think he was saying? And those guys didn't leave without visa....a waiver is equivalent to visa. Just like nysc certificate and exemption. Bottom line is that you are posting old news |
Chartey:He is even better than his boss @justwise. That one is proudly engrossed in ignorance. |
justwise:Thank you sir. Keep your half baked knowledge for your fellow ignoramus. |
justwise:so the resident doctors are the ones that claimed they arranged the visa and they are sorting it out. Sorting out a visa that doesn't exist in the first place according to you. Okay I don hear you. The guys are in the UK already anyway. Stay here and be analysing what you don't know. And for your information, I am not just a doctor.....I am also an ex- officio of that same NARD whose president you are quoting so you can be rest assured I know what I am talking about. You can't know everything and the earlier you learn that....the better. |
justwise:just one question....if you don't have visa or waiver...what is there to even sort out in the first instance? So you mean if I decide to travel to America tommorrow without visa and they don't allow me to board, my organisation will be working it out with immigration. Is that even news worthy? Does that make sense? If there was no waiver, they were supposed to be sent to the British. That they were trying to sort it with nigeria immigration means they had no problems with the British isn't it? For your information, the president of resident doctors is just a politician. There is nothing they were sorting out yesterday. You mean you don't believe that article from GUARDIAN . You think they don't know what they are saying when they said the doctors left. Anyway, make we rest. Wetin be my own self. Make border open make I resume in Australia. |
justwise:How does this show that the doctors were not given visa waiver? NIGERIAN govt can stop anyone from travelling. No one is disputing that. What I am against is you saying the visa waiver was not genuine. If you notice, no one on the side of UK govt has come out to say the waiver is not genuine. Did you notice that? What our govt was saying was that they didn't communicate with the ministry of foreign affairs since the country is on lockdown. How can the president of resident doctors resolve issues that has to do with visa and international travels? The fact is this.....1) they were issued waiver genuinely 2) Ngerian govt was not happy 3) They capitalised on the lapses of lockdown and the waiver to deny them boarding. Don't you think NIS would have called UK immigration and assuming they told them not to board...won't NIS categorically state it? So who now eventually issued the visa for them to go when the embassy is not yet open. Any govt can stop anyone from travelling....I am.not disputing that. However, saying they were scammed or it wasn't genuine is what we are talking about here. NB....if you must know, they have left but they were told to keep it secret so that the media noise can just disappear naturally. |
justwise:Now that the doctors have left, what do you have to say? Always listen to people that knows more than you about a particular situation. I've noticed you always believe you are correct on this forum. Doctors on this forum were telling you it was real, you kept saying it was not possible. It was an insult on the entire medical community for you to assume 58 doctors were scammed with a UK visa. You think UK visa is that difficult for doctors? Even if it is difficult, you think doctors don't know they will need visa before travelling or you are the only one that knows only UKBA can give the letter? Be humble guy. Being a moderator doesn't mean you know more than every other person. |
poiunt:oga....some sets have gone earlier. I don't need to keep arguing with you on open forum. I am in a WhatsApp group of fellow doctors and another alumni group of my Alma mater all doctors...I have personal friends involved so stop talking about what you don't know. You are not the one that knows about UKVI and it is foolishness to assume that doctors that have gone as far as writing part 2 plab in the UK don't know that they need visas before boarding. Stop claiming what you don't know. All the 58 doctors were scammed? You think they are dummies? 29 thousand pounds is how much compared to a chartered flight that required special clearance during lockdown? How much is left for the scammer. I beg.... |
poiunt:This is not scam. Maybe you don't know NES. And you should ask yourself....will scammer pay for chartered flight? How much is the gain left for the scammer? NES won't find job for you without passing plab2 so read the article very well before you keep shouting scam. It was very real and NIS just intentionally sabotaged them albeit for a short period |
Golan007:Ask yourself this simple question. Who authorised the special flight during this lockdown? You think 58 doctors are so stupid they don't know they need visa to enter UK? How did the 58 doctors know that there is a flight waiting for them at the airport when the border is closed? Always think. Some sets have gone earlier and they were all granted visa on arrival. They all have visa waiver for the journey and the flight was booked by UK govt. They were just scared all the doctors are running away. |
