Dgabby01: Good day everyone, please is ielts result compulsory for Nigerians before applying for admission or visa to Australia. And how do I start an application without an agent Depending on the school, you should be able to send in your application yourself and also get admission without an English test result. You just need a letter from your previous school stating the medium of communication was english. However, you will need to present an english test result for visa application. |

NB1912: I respectfully disagree with your perspective. While it's true that the new student visa policy hasn't been implemented yet, there is emerging evidence suggesting a rise in student visa rejections recently. This trend seems to align with the government's expressed intentions to curtail the influx of newcomers in light of the ongoing housing crisis.
Consider the statistics: the number of international students in the country has doubled to nearly 700k in just three years. Given this significant increase, it's reasonable to infer that the forthcoming policy changes might indeed have an indirect influence on the current visa application process, especially for those applying from overseas. In my view, overlooking this potential connection could be an oversight. Thank you for this write up, although, the number of international students from 2020 to 2023 is 100k less than the figures from 2019 and no one complained then. Another bizarre counting method is that student with visa who travel multiple times are counted as well. For example, if a student travels 4 times in a year, it counted as 4 people with student visas instead of one. So, no one actually knows the true amount of international students in australia.

penitential: I do not see any connection between the new policy and this refusal.
Most of the policies that are to be implemented are not directly geared toward incoming students.
It’s majorly against those who are in the system already with study visa trying to regularize their stay.
I can tell that this application denied has some loop hole that’s visible to the VO. Because, construction management is a very good course that’s highly in demand.
And one of their immigration objectives is to bring in more construction workers.
For study permit currently, there are some major pointers that’s been looked into, as regards economic situation of the country.
If those loopholes are found in any application, it’s outright rejection.
All the best to everyone. As someone who was actively involved during the application. There wasn't any loophole. |

NB1912: Not surprised. I guess it's due to the governments new proposed changes. Seen a high rejection rate lately. I can imagine what it will look like when the changes are implemented. My advise to prospective students is to package a very strong application or don't bother applying. What was weird is that this person's application was extremely strong. Anyway, praying they get a different result next time. |

stevepeter2100: Good day people,
Please if someone applies for a course that’s not on the PR list or the skilled occupation list for migration and ends up working in a job (let’s assume the job is on a work visa) that’s not on the same list.
Is there any other pathway to become a permanent resident? Or must the person switch to an occupation on the list?
I’m asking because an agent is asking my partner to apply for master of public health (bachelors in health background) or financial crime and fraud investigation (current job industry) but I don’t see a path to the future PR with these occupations.
Let’s assume she’s sponsored by her company, is there another way to get PR asides the SOL? Why is she letting the agent dictate what she should study? The agent won't pay the fees and feel the struggles. Some occupations on the list are finding it hard to get PR ( I've seen people waiting for 2+ years), what happens if her occupation is not on the list, go figure! |

tunlex01: 1. it's up to you. it can be 6 months, less or more. 2. you can travel anytime as a dependent, there is no restriction as long as the visa is valid. Just note that your travel times will also be factored into calculation when you want to apply for citizenship especially if you stay longer outside AUstralia. it may delay your eligibility if you plan to apply for Australia citizenship Thank you. I'm not too worried about the citizenship part, but more about optics on the immigration dept side. |

AKASBABA1: I can't elaborate much on that issue, except to mention that we applied for admission for one of our students. Unfortunately, they declined to register us as one of their agents in Nigeria. Surprisingly, they proceeded to communicate directly with the students, a behavior we found strange and unprofessional. Apart from that, it's a great school and a path worth considering.
I consistently emphasize that when you're in Nigeria, don't be too selective with schools. The primary challenge is securing a place to study and get your visa; everything else will fall into place afterward. There's a particular ongoing case where the so called school agent (in Nigeria) have been extremely unprofessional in their dealing with a prospective student, I'm talking really absurd abuse of work ethics and all...... which caused the student to inform the school to cease all communications with the agent but for some reason, they disregarded the request even after being informed of the agent-client conflict. That school is something else |

AKASBABA1: When it comes to traveling, there isn't a predefined path; it's more about the planning process. I've observed individuals who embarked on journeys together and others who reunited with their families after a certain period. I would suggest tailoring your plans according to your specific circumstances. This particular case is a tricky one and a bit sensitive, hence the generalized questions (since it's a public forum). |

Questions for those who came with their spouse on a dependent student visa
1. Did you travel with the main applicant for the first entry? If No, how long did you wait before you traveled to Australia? 2. Have you traveled outside Australia alone on the dependent visa and what was the duration?

Wrap46: Hi guys 👋🏿
I have some question regarding Aussie universities. I recently helped my brother to gain admission to a university here in Sydney. They gave him a conditional offer and subsequently told him that the condition of the offer is on ground that he submits his certified documentation.
Now here comes the question,
We are both dual citizen of Nigeria and Sweden and he did his bachelors in Nigeria and our mom has the legit credentials in Nigeria. The condition of the offer is that he brings his certified credentials on the day of his enrollment, is the legit one from the university certified enough or do we have to do any other thing to certify the documents ?
I asked someone who stays in Sydney and he advised that the documents from the university should be enough and if not then Justice of peace in Sydney can put down a writing. How true is this?
Hope to get a feedback from someone here The certified one from the university should be enough. But also get a copy certified by the JP in Sdyney....sometimes their head dey touch |
