To practice as a nurse in Australia, one will need to be registered as a registered nurse in Australia. You can find out more about the registration process and requirements via https://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/.

While there are significant job opportunities in the nursing sector, it's important to note that it is a highly regulated industry. Compliance with the regulations and meeting the necessary qualifications is imperative for a successful and fulfilling nursing career in Australia.
Indeed! If she plays her cards well, it's good, otherwise, it's a depressing career grin

Can a family of 6 go-to Australia on study visa?
It's possible if you can convince the CO of your genuine intentions and if you have the necessary funds.

abeg I say make I ask if English proficiency exam is exempted while applying for Aussie student visa ?

I’ve checked home affairs website and nothing about exemption as a naija scholar.

Any idea??
IT DEPENDS. Some people got exempted by showing a letter from the school stating that the medium of instruction was English, others had to write the English test.

Hello everyone, I admire the help we're giving via this platform, please let's keep it up, I aspire to do same when I'm on board.

1.Please I want to know the schools in Australia that can offer scholarship or a good discount for international students on merit to help with the tuition payment, I had a cgpa of 4.6/5.0 and IELTS of 7.5,I read Accounting Education

2. Is it possible to study, work and raise money for my subsequent tuition and upkeep? I can work and study under pressure.

3. How long will it take for my spouse and child to join me over there and what will it really take for it to happen?
Please @belong,joan and other gurus kindly give your input,
Thank you in anticipation.
1. Depends on the state, school and course you'll be going for. (Please go for something that would grant your PR, studying another course is a hassle no one should go through).
2. Yes, it will be possible, but it will be hard. (theres a post about it in the other student thread).
3. They can join as dependents, some people include them in the original application, others apply for subsequent entrance after the main applicant is in australia.

I need candid advice as to the course of study to choose and a choice of University that would add to my PR. I studied Electrical/Electronics Engineering and worked as a QHSE personnel for close to nine years. On the flip side, I learned some coding some years back and would love to apply for a master's program in software engineering in Australia. Do you think I stand a chance of getting admitted for this program. Which school is best fit, considering the idea is also to apply for PR
There are numerous excellent schools that provide that program. Your choice will depend on what's important to you, such as being near urban or rural areas, living costs, and tuition fees.

When it comes to permanent residency (PR), it's advisable to pursue your studies in a state with a higher likelihood of obtaining PR. To guide your decision, examine the PR allocation quotas and priority professions for each state for the previous years. Although this doesn't forecast future trends, it offers a clear picture of what to expect.

Good evening all.
I want to apply for a master's program in Australia, but my challenge is if I should use self funding or sponsorship.

I can afford a 1 year tuition fees, living can expenses and other fees.

My fear is, if they will grant my visa with just 1 year POF since it's a 2 years program and I am sponsoring myself.

If I choose to use a sponsor, I don't have a sibling who can show from his pay slip such volume of funds. They earn less than a 100k.

Please I will need you advice.
Thank you.
If you can self sponsor and show approx. 25k then go for it. You'll be given a visa for the entirety of your studies

Hi guys,
Please I'm a little bit confused and frustrated at the moment.

Is it that Aussie no longer accept self-sponsorship for student visa application. Almost all the agents I'm contacting are saying I must be sponsored by someone preferably a family member but I wish to sponsor myself and have all funds in my account as POF.

Isn't this possible anymore?
You can definitely sponsor yourself if you have the funds.

Yes boss
Some universities in Victoria don't require you to use an agent for the masters program. It all depends on the school and what course you're applying for.

you should have told him 20m might not be enough given the current exchange rate or give him ideas on how to go about it

we are all here to learn from each other
My interpretation of his question was how much does the 500 visa cost, that was why I gave that answer. I actually didn't read his question very well till now and I usually don't answer posts if my knowledge isnt current.

Also, no one is obligated on this forum to provide answers and when they do, if you or anyone don't like the answer someone provided, then wait for another, or, do some research.

I also think it speaks poorly about his character when he resorted to personal attacks.

There doesn’t seem to enough information about what I am about to ask. I learnt your degree must be related to your work experience. I have a Masters in Labour and relations and I have experience working as an Account Manager in a Fintech. Do I qualify for the 189,190 Visa?
One of the biggest hurdle you'll have to pass will be the skill assessment. You might be able to get a positive skill assessment if you have a minimum of 5 - 6 years for your work experience even though your degree is not related.

P.S, That was what I interpreted from VETASSESS website.

i know it all where has it taken you too?
all that was Written here was it not someone that research n simplify it n put it down here.

Before we had to struggle, to learn to code , do things the hard way.
some one sat down brought AI.... ChatGPT and simplify everything.

you don't necessarily had to pass through the hare way to build big machines... now with ChatGPT almost everyone can do that

before we had to learn code first just to put information online.. 'someone brought WordPress.. made it free n with few clicks everything is ready.

thinking that everyone will go the hard way to retrieve information is only reinventing the wheel.

unfortunately thats the black man' s mentality.

i was asking if 20m will be enough. at current exchange rate .. the next thing is go and read from beginning to the end.

must everyone struggle through 500 pages? what joy do u derive in people suffering?

get away...

someone has given all information necessary.

i thought you knew it all
Good for you! smiley

If the school is refering you to an agent, then you don't have much of a choice and will have to apply via the agent.

Hello everyone

Well done to those providing answers and help here.

I have a BSc in Physics but have been working as a Reservoir engineer for a while. I just got my Engineers Australia assessment and it said I wasn't assessed as an Engineer, but an Engineering Technologist 233914. I calculated my total points and it came to 80 pts.
Looking at previous ITA rounds, the minimum points for this occupation is 85 points. And I cannot find it on any State occupation list especially Western Australia's WASMOL.

Please I need advice: do I still apply for the 189 hoping 80 pts is enough? Or apply to all regions for 190 as well? What about the 491 visa? I checked WA and QLD and this occupation isn't there for 190 and 491.
Has anyone successfully used this occupation and gotten an ITA? Thanks.
What points do you have for your english test scores? Put in your EOIs for both 189 and 190 where applicable and try to increase or gain extra points where possbile.

Getting your skill assessment and AHPRA registration is actually one of the cheapest route assuming you get a sponsorship or skilled visa.

Thanks for your response. Do you mean IELTS is a requirement as part of VISA processing to Australia?
Yes and No. It is subject to the discretion of the visa processing officer.

P.S, there are exemptions to providing English test scores.

Please my people How's flinders University adelaide for a prospective student? My worries are job availability and affordability for someone with a young family....pls help a sister.
I don't live in Adelaide but cost of living has gone up significantly. Most people are having to work two jobs or more to survive. Am not trying to scare you but show the reality of what's on ground.

If your husband has a good paying job in Nigeria, let him stay with the kids while you come to Australia, get a house (this is important as vacancy rates are low in the country and you find upwards of 40 people interested in 1 house), get a job, look for cheap and affordable places for childcare and schools and other services you would need before the rest of your family joins you.

However, people who live in Adelaide can provide more accurate representations of what life over there is like.

Please, I need help
1. Is English language proficiency test such as IELTS, PTE and co mandatory for admission and visa?
2. Is Geoscience or Geophysics part of P.R courses?

I studied Industrial Physics. I'll appreciate if someone can recommend something better for me.

I am open to suggestions. Thanks
1. Obtain a letter from your school confirming that English was the medium of instruction. Additionally, include your CV with your application and secure a letter from your workplace verifying that English is the primary language of communication. Hopefully, your school will recognize these documents as sufficient evidence of your proficiency. However, there's a chance you might still be asked to take an English test to ensure there are no communication barriers. Note that in some instances, visa officers may request an English test result even if the educational institution doesn't require one. If you're able to take the English test, I'd recommend doing so. If that's not feasible, then proceed with the aforementioned documents.

2.Visit the ANZSCO website to explore potential career paths from either of those studies and to assess if they might offer a pathway to permanent residency."

😂where is it stated though?. It’s not in the visa conditions or on the home affairs website. I’ve seen people go more than 3 months earlier than their course starts
Technically it isn't. However, it's better to be safe than sorry, there have been stories of people sent back. I realise it will not be the case for everyone. Also, since they need to hold a valid OSHC from the day the land in Australia, not having one can cause problems.
