Why can't some of you be truthful for once?
He has shown you with evidence from your VIN that this car was manufactured in April 2009 and yet you are insisting that as a dealer you call it a 2011 model. I wonder what else you are hiding about this vehicle.
Buyers really need to BEWARE!!!
He requested for facts. We gave him. He's still claiming 11... I just dey laff since grin grin grin
Happy sales OP

Bravo, wonderful history, report, we now sure its not 08/09, late 010 we call it 011as dealers
This vehicle was produced in 09. U can't call it '11. It is a 10 at most.

Shine your eyes well please and make reasonable comments with facts, engine picture only speaks cool
If its '11 as you say, how come the date of production says '09?

The following images are snapshots of Toyota's official vin decode website grin
It states its a 2010 model.
Kindly correct t avoid misconceptions...

I was using a camry 2008 before switching to accord 2010 v6. I have to say. Its the best decision i ever made. Not only is the accord more comfortable. The specs are actually better to me too. Its cheap to maintain. Drives smoother. Genuinely bias aside. I whole heartedly love the accord more than i ever enjoyed the camry.
If you are conflicted. Which i was too. When i was deciding if i should move to a honda brand. Just trust it. The accord is wayy better than muscle

I always love testimonies from people who have used the cars rather than hear say or what we read on the net grin

Thanks for this.

Is the honda accord 2010 v6 a suitable car for Uber?
It will work but will you be making enough profit?
Being an engine with larger displacement (engine cylinder capacity) you will spend alot on fuel o... I know V6 engines are sweet with excellent fuel economy for highway travels. But for city? Hmmm. E get as e be.
Hope no be Lag or this high traffic cities you dey sha. Cuz na hold up go chop all your fuel finish.

The 2010 accord V6 with the VCM engine actually has a better mpg rating than its V6 Camry counterpart of the same year.
Nice to know but I was actually referring to the 4 cylinder as that's the one i have had direct contact with.
However by "mpg rating" are you referring to mpg on paper or in real life?
Regardless experiences differ so what you experienced is sure different from what I experienced.

When I bought it, it had some oil spillage.
na near where the plugs dey.
It didn't cost much to fix, 500 for the gym, 2k for seal.
Na only that timing belt be the issue.
From your analysis the car dey alright.

Thanks alot boss..
You too
The car over dey alright. Never disappoints.
Try if you can. Get original belt. And an extra one inside boot. So incase e cut again u no go dey do wahala dey find belt again
Car Talk / Re: Help I Top My 2008 V6 Honda Accord's Radiator With Water Everyday by AutoMoTech(m): 8:46pm On Oct 27, 2020
OP my simple advice is this.
There are numerous causes of water/coolant loss.
Since you do not complain of overheating or a misfiring engine the we can "assume" its not a burnt gasket.
However try and find a tech that has a cooling system test kit. with it you can pressurize the system and check if there are any external leaks. If the pressure drops and you cant find the leak then it might be internal (inside the engine).

The two cars have different wiring, the only way u can do this is either u use an aftermarket thumb start system or u change the wiring of your car to that of oem keyless ,thrust me u will be changing at least 30 percent of the total wiring in the car ,its not worth it!!!!!!!
Ah ah.... 30% of the total wiring?

Bros you dey para ooo grin grin grin

Abeg nor vex.
Is engine belt and timing belt same thing?
O don't know that's why I am asking.
Then the oil leak, is it from the top where the plugs are?
Thanks for your prompt response and advice
Yes na same. Sometimes no be same I used "engine belt" because na him street techs sabi pass.
There are different places oil can leak from. Chec the one you are suffering from. Ours was from a faulty crankshaft oil seal.
If na plugs own you get, e fit be valve cover oil seal. Do you have oil leak?

1. I stay within the Lagos axis, I guess getting a competent mechanic won't be a hurdle.

2. I am considering 4 cylinders. You can advice me further on this. Thanks

3. The car will be used mostly within state drives. Interstate like Lagos to Onitsha will be once in a blue moon. Say 6 months period.

Thank you!
ok. based on the above, a 4 cylinder engine will work best for you as a first time owner.
have you finally settled for the honda over the toyota?

Thanks for the input... I'm considering a Nigerian used Honda Accord, V4. Hope that can serve in place of Tokunbo?
why not?
pls consider paying for pre-purchase inspection. this will really save you the headache of buying a money pit. also if you will, make sure it is a trustworthy technician you can trust.

Thanks boss
It is a 4 cylinder.
I haven't had any serious issues except that the timing belt has cut twice in the space of one month.
I will take your advice to fix the OBD port.
From my novice point of view, the engine is okay.
ok. i used the type of vehicle for years. sold it just 2 months ago. asides regular servicing and oil leak, the major problem I had was the engine belt cutting several times like ones in 3 -4 months. I guess its a major problem with those vehicles.
find an experienced tech to help you check the cause of the frequent belt cutting. make this thing no go fail you for middle of night o.

After 10years of struggle on a job that refused to increase my salary, I just acquired a 2nd hand tiny light Camry as family dey increase.
I want to maintain the car as my own GLK until God pick my call.
I intend servicing every month.

I noticed that the engine check light came on, some days later, fuel pump cast.

Another time I noticed check light and timing belt cut some days later.

Now the check light is on again, the OBD port is bad so I can't check what the issue is.
I need advice on how to maintain this car in pristine condition.

Any one with information either good or bad concerning this car should please comment
Thanks fam.
MY OPINION
What engine is it? 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder?
i know those engines to be very strong & reliable.
depending on the current state of the engine but servicing the engine every month will be waste of oil and funds except if you travel very long distance. when i used the type, i serviced every 3 months regardless of distance travelled. though the vehicle was used within town.
first thing i will advice is this, get a competent auto tech or electricals expert to repair the wiring to for the OBD port so you this will make it easier to fix engine problems in the future.
also what have you noticed so far haven driven the vehicle? what's the current state of the engine?

I'm looking at buying my first car next month, but I haven't been able to reconcile my choice between Honda Accord 2010 and Camry 2010. Experts in the house, please advice which is better in terms of budget, engine, general specs and any other thing you can think of. Thanks

PS: I'm considering clean and well maintained Nigerian use car for now!
how long do you intend to use the car for?
i'm asking this because if you eventually decide to sell, the toyota normally commands more resale value compared to the honda.
however design wise, the honda beats the toyota hands down. fuel economy is similar but I think the toyota has a slightly better fuel economy tho.
what engine type are you considering? 4 ot 6 cylinder?
will you been doing city driving more or inter state?
have you done a critical analysis of mechanics around. which brand do they support more? NOTE: Competent auto shops o! not road side.
